'𝐑U𝐓H𝐋E𝐒S G𝐎D' Is the first full length romance book within the (Gods of North Haven University) series by new to me author J.M. Stoneback. Spoken in dual POV's. Snow & Lyrical.
The only negative thing at this is that she really needs to hire a good editor, spelling errors galore, sentences repeated within the same paragraph, this occurred throughout the whole book..
BUT...Other than the above I still enjoyed this one, I loved the twists and turns (and let me tell you there were more than a handful) they just kept coming, the angst with these two was fire, the push and pull, he'd met his match when it came to craving the darker side of sex..

Dark and angsty!

Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pretty good read with lots of twists and turns. It probably would have been a five star read, but Lyrical seemed like she was all over the place sometimes and I had a hard time connecting with her. I did love how obsessed the MMC was with her, even when he hated her. Definitely a darker read and you may want to check the triggers if you have any. I'll definitely be following for the next book in the series and I'm crossing my fingers for a "back from the dead" trope in a later book.

This is a spicy, dark romance with a lot of action going on too. This is faced paced and pretty easy to read. Snow is obsessed with her and does some crazy things. Lyrical loves that he understands her, but is sad that they lost the relationship they once have. This is a good dark academia romance with plenty of dub-con, primal play but also has a good plot.

“Run, Blue.”
Snow and Lyrical's story is definitely a must-read. It was a first for me by this author as well.
Lyric was driving a car that had her best friend and Snow's sister Bailey in it, the have an accident and Bailey passes away. Snow blames Lyrical and intends to make her pay for it. Regardless of their impending marriage.
The intensity of feeling, the angst, heartbreak, and pain, deep gut-wrenching loss as well.
The spicy soul mate connection these two share is evident, and it radiates off them. There was a lot going on, and it had me hooked from the start, but I definitely recommend taking note of the TWs if you're sensitive to some heavy triggers.
But I loved this book. I definitely recommend 👌

I was so excited about this read hence why I waited months in the waiting list for an ARC. 😩
This book was way over the top, border line cringy. I didn't enjoy it. 😪😔 too many different storylines kept being thrown our way.

I only finished this because I didn't want to DNF another book.
Once you get past the first 3 chapters of pure cringe, it still doesn't get better, unfortunately. At least it's less cringey. But the writing is still terrible. I would like to say amateur, but honestly I've read debut writers who did 10 times better than this. The writing was simple and not in a good way. More like how a child would write a story. Short sentences, redundant thoughts or conversations, no feels.
The characters were all over the place, it was repetitive and logic was non-existent.
That said, the plot really wasn't that bad and even had unforeseen twists.
Since this author has apparently written a couple of books already, I assume this is their writing style so I won't be reading them again.

I was anticipating this story for a long time!!!
It had an intriguing blurb and an incredible cover!!! Don't you agree???
It had potentials to become a great story cause things turned out very dark and suspenseful, but it needed more work to become a great read!!!
It had the structure, but some things in here weren't feeling real!!!
I'm all about free will and to encounter someone's sexuality, but for a reason, I was rolling too many times my eyes in our main heroes' sexual encounters!!! And not only there!!!
Don't get me wrong, they were hot, but it had too much sex scenes for my taste!!! And too many cringeworthy moments with our Gods!!!
Still... I liked the general idea of the book and from time to time, I was enthralled into the story!!!
"I'm going to enjoy breaking you."
Lyrical and Snow's marriage had been arranged years ago and they were both very happy with this union, since they couldn't take their eyes from each other...
Until that fateful night that Snow's baby sister was killed and the person responsible for this loss was no other than his beloved Lyrical!!!
Now, he hates her and he wants to make her pay!!!
They can't escape their entangled fate, but Snow is determined to make her life a living hell throughout their marriage and he is trying to do exactly that... but as he is coming closer to the girl he used to love, he is starting to become more lax around her and he hated it!!!
"Old feelings I had of her are resurfacing and I don't like it. It pisses me the f**k off that she has this hold on me."
Lyrical is carrying her own guild for the accident that killed her best friend!!! She knows that something more had happened that day, but no one is believing her!!! She has to find out by herself, if she wants to find the answers that will make life with Snow more bareable!!!
The man, she used to love, is out for her blood and she needs to put a brave face and survive the hell he is putting her into...
But, Snow is up for a wake up call when he will realize that his punishments are giving only pleasure to his future wife!!!
"My enemy is about to have his way with me, and I hate how much I love it."
Yes, I liked this story, even though I didn't like all the things that were happening in it!!!
There were questionable parents here, friends with similar tastes and someone after Lyrical!!!
Snow wants to avenge his sister's death, but is it extracting his revenge on the right person???
Will Lyrical become what she used to be for him before???
Will Snow manage to crawl inside her heart again???
Is there a hope for these two???

but there are also A LLLOOOOTTTTT of things i just like....could...not haha 1. uhh...those names? 2. she literally kept saying her fantasy was to actually have her consent taken away...but uhhh...like thats cnc...but they were NOT talking about it healthy at all. 3. the writing was so back n forth...like saying they hated something about the other but then the next time it happened being like i love that...uhhh...what? 4. then there would be v NONchalant scene that SHOULD have been dramatic...like fucking some side bitch coming in & stabbing home girl in the side. but like. that was the sentence. i shit you not. then she's dizzy...& goes to the hospital.

Dark academia is one of my favorite books to read! Such an amazing spicy, dark romance with tons of action in the plot! Also, add a little revenge and it's on fire! Always remember books like these will have many trigger warnings so please check before proceeding!

It was so bad I didn’t even skim. I ended up basically DNF at 80%
The biggest issue in this book that is the biggest issue I’ve read in ANY book is the romanticization of Sh “if you cut, I cut-all while HES the reason for the SH) like it’s a terrible thing to include in a book-yes it brings light to the issues of SH but it’s not good light if the ML is the one basically encouraging or contributing to it.

This one was a ride that surprised me throughout. Snow is a man who's absolutely cray cray and is unapologetic about what he does and the limits he's ready to cross if someone wrongs him.
Snow always had a crush on his sister's bestie, Lyrical. Even though their families have arranged their marriage together, he's always kept his distance from her and kept her safe.
Until a horrible incident happens that leaves him seeking revenge on Lyrical for her role in what happened.
From then on, we see Snow make a complete 180 in his behaviour towards Lyrics.
He wants to make her life 𝗁𝖾𝗅𝗅 and does everything to do the same.
But what he didn't know was Lyrical wants the 𝗍𝗐𝗂𝗌𝗍𝖾𝖽 𝖿𝖺𝗇𝗍𝖺𝗌𝗒 𝖺𝗌 𝗆𝗎𝖼𝗁 𝖺𝗌 𝗁𝖾 𝖽𝖾𝗌𝗂𝗋𝖾𝗌 and once he finds out, it's game on for them and Snow loves that he gets to do the most 𝗍𝗐𝗂𝗌𝗍𝖾𝖽 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝖽𝖾𝖻𝖺𝗎𝖼𝗁𝖾𝖽 𝗍𝗁𝗂𝗇𝗀𝗌 and Lyrical might 𝗁𝖺𝗍𝖾 him but loves everything that he does to her.

The story though thoroughly kept me engaged not only with their craziness and possessiveness and the hotter than fire 𝗌𝗉𝗂𝖼𝗒 𝗌𝖼𝖾𝗇𝖾𝗌 (𝗐𝗁𝗂𝖼𝗁 𝖺𝗋𝖾 𝖽𝖺𝗋𝗄 for sure), but we also have secrets and dangerous plot twists that just creep up on you and leave you shocked.
Snow might be one 𝗎𝗇𝗁𝗂𝗇𝗀𝖾𝖽 𝗆𝖺𝖽𝗆𝖺𝗇 when it comes to Lyrical but there's no doubting his devotion for her. If he's crazy then he's also protective about her to the point of obsession (Imagine having a tracker on her body, just to keep her safe). Yeah, he's that much crazy.
But I couldn't deny how perfect they were for each other.
Although the unalivings in the name of jealousy had me a little irked because of how uncaring they were about it.
There are also some really horrible secrets and wild turns that when they came to light had me shocked but also upset but then I get that it's part of the storyline.

This one was a ride that surprised me throughout. Snow is a man who's absolutely cray cray and is unapologetic about what he does and the limits he's ready to cross if someone wrongs him.
Snow always had a crush on his sister's bestie, Lyrical. Even though their families have arranged their marriage together, he's always kept his distance from her and kept her safe.
Until a horrible incident happens that leaves him seeking revenge on Lyrical for her role in what happened.
From then on, we see Snow make a complete 180 in his behaviour towards Lyrics.
He wants to make her life 𝗁𝖾𝗅𝗅 and does everything to do the same.

Perfect title for this book. Ruthless God is dark academia, arranged marriage, morally dark romance. Check your trigger warnings before reading, this is heavy and dark.
Snow is someone who I would describe as being an absolute loose cannon in the worst way possible, but oddly enough he seems to relish that. Lyrical is his sister's best friend and he has always had the most unhinged crush on her, but one that after their parents agree to marry them to each other changes. He grows distant with her, but always watchful, always protecting her from afar. When tragedy strikes, he does too. Snow doesn’t want to protect her now, oh no, the very opposite of that, in fact he has made it his life mission that Lyrical doesn’t have a moment of peace or happiness ever again. Throughout the next half of the storyline, Snow and Lyrical torture each other with some of the most messed up things, but feeding off each other's hatred.
To say their relationship was toxic with all the red flags would be an understatement, but it worked for the characters.
Snow and Lyrical’s story kept me engaged, even if it was just to see what crazy thing they would do to the other next. Through trauma, death, betrayal and pain, Snow and Lyrical managed to find a world that they fit together, and fit together they do. Snow is full of possessive alpha, he just has a level of crazy that I don’t think I have read before and that is saying something because I have read A LOT of books.
As a first time reader to this author, it was a smack in the face, but in a good way. Vivid scenes, engaging characters, crazy storylines and a level of crazy I haven’t experienced before. I would recommend it to my dark romance readers for sure.

I have read several books by this author and unfortunately this one didn’t grab me the way others have. I struggled connecting to the characters at the beginning of the book and although they did grow on me as the book went on I still didn’t love them.
Lyrical Haynes went through hell and nobody really listened to her and everyone presumed she was guilty after the accident. I hated that she was judged and I gave the character credit for sticking around but she was walking a fine line with everything going around her. She believed she was innocent yet never went about trying to prove it.
Revi “Snow” Williams was a giant bully and also a killer who was hell bent on getting revenge on Lyrical yet for someone who was previously her “best friend” he never listened to her after the accident or trusted her. That frustrated me a lot and he just made her life hell yet wanted to kill anyone who went near her.
The book was best friends to enemies and then to lovers which worked in a certain sense but I was just so frustrated at all the parental interference and lack of trust. I was happy that the eventually Snow figured things out and realized the mistake he made and worked on making things better.
I have to also say though that I absolutely hated the ending with one character and that made me super mad when I finished. I couldn’t get why the author would do what they did in making the readers happy to only take it all away again.
I will read what the author has next but I am a little frustrated with this one. 3.5 stars- Rebecca

Lyrical and Snow are the lead characters in this dark college romance. With stalking, fierce protectiveness from the main male character, plenty of spice, and a touch of revenge thrown in for good measure, this book hit the spot.
The lead characters both had some terrific qualities, but I will be honest, it took me a little bit to warm up to them. Snow acted like he was much older than his age and Lyrical acted a bit immature at times. I suppose they balanced each other out. 😄 There is no denying they have amazing chemistry and were perfect for each other in the bedroom, woods, etc.
Throughout the story is a solid mystery and the suspense element is fantastic. I will admit I worked out one thing but I think by that stage it was expected. However, the twists and turns in the storyline are magnificent and truly take you by surprise.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t recommend it to all who enjoy a Fabius romantic suspense with a hefty dose of intimacy.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the first book in The Gods of North Haven University. This is the story of Lyrical and Snow. These two have a history. They have both been raised in families that are extremely rich. But now they are in college. However at one time she was best friends with his sister. But now his sister is gone and Snow blames Lyrical for what happened. Revenge is what he seeks and he will have it no matter what. However, they have been selected to be married. This happened before his sister died and now he finds himself in the position to have to marry the woman he hates more than anything in this world. They had been looking forward to this as they really did have feelings for each other. While he is planning his revenge she is trying her best to survive the emptiness she feels constantly. There are so many twists and turns in this book that it keep your reading as quickly as you can to figure it all out. I loved these characters. They steal your heart as you are reading.. They really have some amazing banter between them. This is a bit of a how done it so expect some mystery to go along with everything else.

Whoa! Did not expect this to be so good!
The one thing I truly hated about this book is the names. Lyrical and Snow. Yeah the names were terrible. This story is about both MMC and FMC’s families are part of the American Billionaires Club and while they are in college they are contracted to marry. Luckily Lyric and Snow have always been best friends and in love. Until they weren’t. Lyrical makes a stupid mistake and accidentally kills her best friend Bailey-who happens to be Snow’s baby sister.
The twists and turns in this book completely had me gasping. I did not see the huge plot twist, and I truly felt for both the MMC and FMC. It was so hard to pick a side because I felt for them both. You feel for him because he lost his sister and then you feel for her because she lost her best friend, and everyone blames her for it.
I loved how Snow was so utterly obsessed with Lyric but at the same time he wanted to make her life crumble and ruin her for what she did to his sister. I am glad this book series is coming out soon so I can read it ASAP! I highly recommend it!

3.0 😂😂😂 that was an experience! I had to picture the males as mafia just to make my brain somewhat believe this storyline. I rolled my eyes a lot during this book. H was not likable. h was annoying. She literally kept doing the most like walking right into danger. TSTL
The whole “Gods” secret club was ridiculous. Oh well, I like OTT stories so I continued on.
The smex scenes were awkward to me. Not even sexy. More like cringe.
There is OW drama. H has slept with OW before and OW still wants H. She’s a nasty one.
There is OM drama, but mostly h just uses OMs to make H jealous. 🤨

There is NO WAY I believe H’s sister, Bailey, died for a second time. Nah! H’s BFF, Jameson, definitely set it up to look like she died and he took her away somewhere. These two have been best friends for years alongside Snows sister Bailey. The three of them are always as thick as thieves. That's until Bailey dies and Lyrical is blamed for it, so he seeks revenge without even asking questions.......but the thing is these two are arranged to be married.....!!! Snow will become CEO of the club but only if they marry. What happened on that fateful night of the accident that killed Bailey? Is Lyrical to blame or was she set up?
Honestly this was soooooo good and it kept me awake to finish it. There is a lot that goes on within all the sex scenes it's very dark so check your triggers they include..... cutting/self harm, murder, drugs, rape, primal kink, plus many more. This book was everything a DARK romance reader could want. The plot was bangin, the spice was spicy, and the morally black MMC was swoon worthy… possessive, unhinged, and a sexy bad boy who went on a journey to figure out where his loyalty lies and will stop at nothing to protect the ones he loves. I devoured this book in 2 sittings. Perfect for fans of HD Carlton, ST Abby, and JT Geissinger’s Queens and Monsters series. There’s stalking, touch her and die vibes, primal play, dubcon/cnc, dom/sub, bondage, billionaire, and academia all rolled up into one steamy story that will have your heart racing out of angst, anxiety, and arousal. The twists were twisty.
My first book by this author and definitely just followed her on social media and goodreads because I cannot wait for the second installment of this series, during which two of the supporting characters become the mains.

Holy amazeballs the twists and turns in this book are absolutely stunning!
What a wild freaking ride this book took me on.
I think at times my heart nearly stopped. I was on the edge of my seat plenty of times.
Flipping the pages as fast as I could read. Un-freaking-believable how many times I held my breath.
Snow is most definitely unhinged. But I just loved him. Unhinged and all, lol.
He is a bit of a complex character. And he is so intriguing.
So multifaceted. It was an adventure getting to see all his different sides.
Lyrical just seemed so happy go lucky. She was always happy.
Loved her best friends Bailey and Snow dearly. And is just enjoying her life. And her passion of art.
But things come to a devastating halt one seemingly innocent day.
The book had me so freaking gripped and captivated. I could not put it down!
I was invested in the characters and the outcome. One which I was absolutely not prepared for.
It was thrilling and dark. Yes it is a bullying story.
But it turned out to be so much more.

Lyrical and Snow are the lead characters in this dark college romance. With stalking, fierce protectiveness from the main male character, plenty of spice, and a touch of revenge thrown in for good measure, this book hit the spot.
The lead characters both had some terrific qualities, but I will be honest, it took me a little bit to warm up to them. Snow acted like he was much older than his age and Lyrical acted a bit immature at times. I suppose they balanced each other out. 😄 There is no denying they have amazing chemistry and were perfect for each other in the bedroom, woods, etc.
Throughout the story is a solid mystery and the suspense element is fantastic. I will admit I worked out one thing but I think by that stage it was expected. However, the twists and turns in the storyline are magnificent and truly take you by surprise.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t recommend it to all who enjoy a Fabius romantic suspense with a hefty dose of intimacy.
