“Anyone who has ever fought to find their place in the world will be riveted.”—booklife reviewer*

He wanted an escape from his life. He never thought he’d find one like this.

After his older brother’s disappearance, Tyler struggles with life in boring Newbury. School, parents, bullies, everyone seems bent on making his life miserable, and Tyler wants out. But in a confrontation with a vicious jock, Tyler meets Martin, who opens the door to a world Tyler couldn’t have imagined.

Thanks to Martin, Tyler discovers that some people have special affinities because of Vinculum inside of them, and Tyler has one. Those with affinities have an organisation called the London Co-op, made up of rival groups competing for dominance, and Tyler accompanies Martin on his attempts to prove his worth and join.

But being a part of the co-op comes with its own challenges. Between a tough mission, an intriguing peer named Arabel, and disturbing rumours of someone out to get those with affinities, Tyler will have to think fast and work as a team to make a place for himself.

Dissonance is the first book in the exciting new Tyler Yaxley dark fantasy series.

“This novel is dark, twisted and beautifully crafted. The darkest moments are well-balanced by witty, flawed and at times unbearably relatable characters.”—Nala B. ARC reviewer*

Received an advanced reader copy from the author. I honestly didn’t know what to expect going in. But, two days later and I can tell you this novel is dark, twisted and beautifully crafted. The darkest moments are well-balanced by witty, flawed and at times unbearably relatable characters.

This is not a novel for the faint of heart, it deals with adult themes and doesn’t shy away from some very heavy content. This aside, the book is at all times, fun. It is a fast-paced dark-fantasy adventure that has left me eagerly and impatiently awaiting the sequel.
