French Quarter Vampire King #3

Crown of Blood and Vengeance

Rate this book
I damned myself to save him. Now I’m trapped in Hell—and my vampire king is coming for me.One desperate deal with a demon lord dragged me into the infernal depths, but Angelo’s last words echo like a vow in my Stay alive, and I will find you.

Every hour in Hell’s brutal court strips away more of my humanity, revealing powers I was never meant to wield—magic tangled in divine bloodlines and ancient secrets. Somewhere in this cursed realm lies the truth about my angelic father... but the demon lord's cruel games threaten to devour what’s left of me.

All I have is the volatile magic in my veins—a power caught between Heaven and Hell, capable of salvation or destruction.

But I will survive. I will endure. Because Angelo isn’t just any vampire king—he’s tearing through the Nine Circles, leaving ruin in his wake. His empire is rising to challenge the forces of creation itself, and nothing in this world—or the next—will stop him from reclaiming me.

They thought Hell could keep us apart. They thought divine power could break our bond. They were wrong.

The Curse of Blood and Vengeance is the explosive conclusion to the French Quarter Vampire King trilogy—a dark romantasy filled with infernal bargains, forbidden magic, fated mates, and a love powerful enough to defy the heavens.

Serenity allowed herself to be taken away by Balthazar, hoping it would allow Angelo to be saved, but he is under Vlad aka Dracula’s control and he wants his revenge for breaking his rules for vampires. Serenity has been pulled into hell itself by Balthazar, where he has another person held prisoner as well. They are his pawn to keep Vlad in control and forcing him to do what he wants, for his own plans. Serenity is forced to learn how to control her new abilities, threatened with harm to those she loves if she doesn’t do as the demon Balthazar tells her to. He is trying to mix his darkness with her light, forcing her to believe that is the only way to do as he asks. Her desperate attempts to contact Angelo always come with a punishment from Balthazar. The magic he is forcing from her, is all related to the father she never knew, and who she thought had abandoned her mother! He has loads of cruel twists and games to get her to do as he wants, all in an effort to use her powers against her own father, in a revenge plot he has been planning for centuries. Serenity wants to escape, but won’t leave Balthazar’s other prisoner there, if she can help it. She has no idea if Angelo is still alive or not and she just has to have faith in their love for each other. Angelo had promised he would always come for her and he would save her. Enzo and Dimitri are left with the huge task of saving members of Dimitri’s own family, as well as finding a way to save Angelo from Vlad, to then use him to get to hell and rescue Serenity!

More is revealed about Serenity’s abilities and she finally finds out more about Balthazar’s plans for her father, but she is also warned by the other prisoner, Juliette, about not allowing Balthazar to twist her into using darkness to access her powers, as he wants her to, and instead to use love and her connection to Angelo, to keep herself safe! A traitor has taken over in Angelo’s absence and is using the powers Balthazar gave him, to corrupt those of his vampires who don’t willing follow him. A huge meeting is planned to see Angelo being getting his just desserts, but his loyal allies have a plan to rescue him, and then use Vlad to rescue Serenity, as she is the only person capable of healing those Balthazar has hurt so badly. Nothing will keep Serenity and Angelo apart and it seems they will both fight against what is done to them. But Serenity is quickly learning that Balthazar will trick her into doing what he wants, just when she thought he had hit rock bottom in his requests. Now, he has forced her to do a spell which will help kill one of Angelo’s most trusted men, and there is no way for her to warn Angelo, without Balthazar and his hellhounds hearing her. Enzo has to suffer watching Joy being paraded out amongst all the others to see Angelo’s punishment, as they await a signal to attack. Steve has been cloaked by Serenity’s forced magical spell and has been given the job of killing Enzo, but his failure is Steve’s downfall, only Joy shouts out at Enzo, not to kill her brother! It has gone past that point and Enzo only has one choice left, if he is to try and do as Joy asked. It might not be quite what she wanted though! Loads of action in this episode and there are chances left and right, that leave some still in danger, as revenge is still ongoing, as allies and traitors fight to save their leaders. A good mix of demon versus archangel in hell, with a battle to save Serenity and all those taken by Balthazar and those he has possessed, as well as all the other prisoners taken by his lackeys. Balthazar is a master of manipulation and has played against every one of Serenity’s triggers to force her to do as he asked.

Another cliffhanger conclusion, as Joy finds out what happened to the man she saw as her father and who she held responsible in her grief. Reactions are not taken well and splits begin to arrive in Angelo’s teams, as we await what will happen next! Book three of the French Quarter Vampire King series, Crown of Blood and Vengeance, is a dark mafia romance made even tastier with vampires! Great series full of mystery, suspense, danger at every turn, and a love story for the ages. Excellent pacing that keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting for the floor to drop out from underneath. Picking back up in the church, from Enzo’s POV, and he is about to show why he’s the enforcer! Serenity and Angelo have been through the wringer in this series to get to their HEA, and it was amazing to read this series. We meet Serenity’s father, FINALLY! And an amazing lead into Enzo and Joy, so excited to read more about them! The wait till November begins.

This was such a well written and engaging series. I loved the world building, the politics, the characters and the complex plot. In this installment, there's so much action, drama, danger, shocks and twists leading to a well earned HEA for Serenity and Angelo - loved her father's not so subtle hints that their marriage is forever...or else. Lol! I'm thrilled with the epilogue hinting at Joy and Enzo's story. Can't wait for that to come out! This is definitely a series to read in order - it's so well done that it'll likely hit your re-read shelf like it has mine. Good fun!

Serenity and Angelo deal with more turmoil than you can shake a stick at. I found myself wondering why did they have to endure so many struggles. At times I became so frustrated for the characters. I love that Serenity finally gets to meet her father. And there is an HEA for the happy couple. So now we just have to hang tight for book 4. It’ll be so exciting to see how Enzo and Joy’s relationship develops.

Well, once again, poor editing is an issue. From grammar mistakes to some confusing situations (she took her top off, then took off the same said top a page or two later), there were a heap of mistakes that caught my eye on the kindle version. Hence the reduction of one star.
Why have I continued to read this? A question I did ask myself a few times. But, I needed to know what happens after the cliffhanger at the end of book 3.

I've really enjoyed this series, and this book brings it to a close as Serenity and Angelo get their happily ever after. Their road to it wasn't smooth; it was far from easy, but they made it! Lots of drama, action and danger. The icing on the cake was that Serenity finally met her father.

Serenity and Angelo's story picks up from where the last book left off. We finally get their HEA and also a peek at the end at what might hopefully be a story for Joy and Enzo. I would love for this series to continue.

I had this as an ARC for a while(I’m sorry) life got the better of me and I forgot about it. M Guida always delivers and this final installment was fantastic. I’m so happy that she is doing a spin off series and we will see the beloved characters again.
