Serenity allowed herself to be taken away by Balthazar, hoping it would allow Angelo to be saved, but he is under Vlad aka Dracula’s control and he wants his revenge for breaking his rules for vampires. Serenity has been pulled into hell itself by Balthazar, where he has another person held prisoner as well. They are his pawn to keep Vlad in control and forcing him to do what he wants, for his own plans. Serenity is forced to learn how to control her new abilities, threatened with harm to those she loves if she doesn’t do as the demon Balthazar tells her to. He is trying to mix his darkness with her light, forcing her to believe that is the only way to do as he asks. Her desperate attempts to contact Angelo always come with a punishment from Balthazar. The magic he is forcing from her, is all related to the father she never knew, and who she thought had abandoned her mother! He has loads of cruel twists and games to get her to do as he wants, all in an effort to use her powers against her own father, in a revenge plot he has been planning for centuries. Serenity wants to escape, but won’t leave Balthazar’s other prisoner there, if she can help it. She has no idea if Angelo is still alive or not and she just has to have faith in their love for each other. Angelo had promised he would always come for her and he would save her. Enzo and Dimitri are left with the huge task of saving members of Dimitri’s own family, as well as finding a way to save Angelo from Vlad, to then use him to get to hell and rescue Serenity!
More is revealed about Serenity’s abilities and she finally finds out more about Balthazar’s plans for her father, but she is also warned by the other prisoner, Juliette, about not allowing Balthazar to twist her into using darkness to access her powers, as he wants her to, and instead to use love and her connection to Angelo, to keep herself safe! A traitor has taken over in Angelo’s absence and is using the powers Balthazar gave him, to corrupt those of his vampires who don’t willing follow him. A huge meeting is planned to see Angelo being getting his just desserts, but his loyal allies have a plan to rescue him, and then use Vlad to rescue Serenity, as she is the only person capable of healing those Balthazar has hurt so badly. Nothing will keep Serenity and Angelo apart and it seems they will both fight against what is done to them. But Serenity is quickly learning that Balthazar will trick her into doing what he wants, just when she thought he had hit rock bottom in his requests. Now, he has forced her to do a spell which will help kill one of Angelo’s most trusted men, and there is no way for her to warn Angelo, without Balthazar and his hellhounds hearing her. Enzo has to suffer watching Joy being paraded out amongst all the others to see Angelo’s punishment, as they await a signal to attack. Steve has been cloaked by Serenity’s forced magical spell and has been given the job of killing Enzo, but his failure is Steve’s downfall, only Joy shouts out at Enzo, not to kill her brother! It has gone past that point and Enzo only has one choice left, if he is to try and do as Joy asked. It might not be quite what she wanted though! Loads of action in this episode and there are chances left and right, that leave some still in danger, as revenge is still ongoing, as allies and traitors fight to save their leaders. A good mix of demon versus archangel in hell, with a battle to save Serenity and all those taken by Balthazar and those he has possessed, as well as all the other prisoners taken by his lackeys. Balthazar is a master of manipulation and has played against every one of Serenity’s triggers to force her to do as he asked.
Another cliffhanger conclusion, as Joy finds out what happened to the man she saw as her father and who she held responsible in her grief. Reactions are not taken well and splits begin to arrive in Angelo’s teams, as we await what will happen next!
