Elizabeth's life will never be normal again. She's broken, no longer the independent, headstrong, confident woman she used to be. In a desperate bid to revive her former self, and with encouragement from an unexpected ally, she dives even deeper into the criminal underworld that's responsible for her pain, determined to emerge stronger than ever.
Drowning in Venom is the second book in the Serpent's Nest mafia romance duology. It features mature themes, explicit content, and a strong female main character in her mid-30s who takes no shit from the men in her life, no matter how dangerous, powerful, or delicious they may be. This book is not a standalone. You must read A Tangle of Serpents first to fully appreciate this story.
Alice Blackmoor is a voracious romance reader turned writer, who believes that anyone can start something new and powerful, no matter their age. Though her day job as a technical project manager is a perfect match for her Type A personality, writing is what makes her feel truly herself. Alice's debut series, "Serpent's Nest", is the culmination of years of maladapative daydreaming and wondering what-if.
If you can relate to quirky, opinionated, and independent-to-a-fault characters, perhaps you'll see yourself in the stories of the FMCs that Alice creates. Happy dreaming!
I honestly didn’t know how I’d feel about Elizabeth moving on (that doesn’t happen too much in the books I read) but the author did an amazing job of still doing right by Damian yet creating an absolutely incredible relationship between Elizabeth and Vincenzo.
I liked Elizabeth better in this book tbh. Her strength and wit plus complete support for Vince was great.
It’s a little bit of a slow burn but SO worth it! Definitely steamy when it gets there! The tension is well worth the wait!
It’s a good story, I read both books in 2 days but it jumps around so much I wish there was a bit more detail instead of only giving us a few “scenes” then jumping to the next turning point days later
Man I was more excited for Vince this time around. I thought Damien was an asshole and way too controlling. But Mono said it best. “You were made for each other” what a great Duology.
