Caught in a world of magic and myth, Batman must rely on the help of Zatanna and John Constantine if he’s to save his city…and himself…from the curse of the werewolf. But with a full moon approaching, will the ancient magics Bruce’s allies manage to summon be enough to keep the beast away from Gotham’s most vulnerable? And can the werewolf’s human half ?nd the salvation he so longingly desires?
Day 337: The art is a perfect fit for the story, although I do not like how Alfred is being drawn. Much better than the first issue even if it is a “shittier” issue (you’ll get it if you’ve read it).
Much better than the initial issue, perhaps the slow burn type storytelling might not work well with Werewolves. Idk I'm not a writer obv, the art ruled though 👍
As it turns out, Bruce Wayne’s “walk” last night went pretty terribly. And not only did the Batman get ripped to shreds, so did Bruce Wayne, and even worse he came out of it with the same curse Talbot has. Constantine was quick to arrive to the scene to help out Bruce, and Zatanna was even quicker. She immediately worked for hours to prepare a spell to possible pull the curse from Bruce’s soul. All while Talbot woke up in the streets again to the same people willing to pull him in and try and help him, even knowing what he is now. Unfortunately for Bruce, the spell with Zatanna did not work and it almost got them killed. The next step was to lean towards Kirk and try a scientific route, but that looks to be going nowhere as well. And Bruce can’t stop now, he has to go out there and find Talbot and as the moon gets huger in the sky it’s almost as if he can sense where Talbot is, like they are drawn to each other. Talbot got together with the other people in the community to chain himself up in one of the church basements. So of course we everything has to go swimmingly, right as Kirk decides he cannot find a cure using science…we follow as Batman, armed with a UV light emitter in the Batmobile, follows the vibe all the way to Talbot as he unleashes the beast and becomes a werewolf once again! Everyone who helped to chain him run away as the chains begin to break and bend…other than sister weeks. She attempts to stand her ground with a big smile, knowing deep down that Christian is not really like this…and then he immediately ripped her apart. At the same time Batman is now going through his own transformation! Unable to control it, he rips through the Batmobile and walks out half Batman costume half werewolf as he meets up with Christian and they begin to howl at the moon! Seems the hunt is now on for both of them…oh no.

Skipping a badass fight between Batman, Man-Bat, and Werewolf? Really? At least the fights were alluded too, but I’m pretty sure the artist has no fun drawing the monsters. Because everything badass I can’t wait to read is skipped over. Besides that, I’m still loving the relationship between Bruce, Zatana, and Constantine. They kept the over the top magic short yet critical to the story. I think Batman being bit should have been dragged out longer. I like this story of him being ‘infected’ and unable to find a cure (like the Arkham games), but everything sure happened quick. His arrogance to the whole situation is very arrogant and uncharacteristic too. You don’t believe in magic, yet you’re in a room with Zatana and Constantine? And a man who can turn into a bat is on the other side of the room! His ego and mannerisms make his dialogue sound like him but c’mon. Leaving at dusk to do Batman duties while ‘infected’ is moronic too. I know - he’s done it before and he’ll do it again, but has he not seen what this does to Werewolf already???
Batman is not this stupid.

The second issue was just as good as the first. Batman turning into something that kills, that has the need to kill, is something that I've only seen once. And that was Batman Red Rain. The change that Batman goes through, despite thinking that he can beat it, is pretty scary.
