Blackstone Falls #3

Meant to be Falling

Rate this book
When the boss's wife asks me to fill in for a stranger photoshoot the only answer is yes.

And man am I glad I did.

At twenty-three, most people think I have no business chasing after the divorced, single mom more than a decade older than me.

But they’d be wrong.

I’ve lived more in my time than most will in the entirety of theirs. I survived the kind of life that will crush you if you give it too much space to breathe.

But I’m still standing.

One look at Lana Richards, and I know why. She’s beautiful and sassy and there’s no denying the way my body lights up when she’s near. She’s the kind of woman that consumes you and makes you beg for more.

She's everything.

They say age is only a number but it might just be our downfall. Especially when her ex-husband finds out I’m more than just warming her bed. She’s scared but I can’t help if she won’t let me in.

How can we be meant to be, when everything is falling apart?

I enjoyed Jensen and Nessa’s story, but love Mason and Lana’s even more!

The chemistry between Mason and Lana is amazing! I know they’re fictional characters but I wish I could find that dynamic with someone in real life! Their bond just grows and grows. Lana is a single mom to 2 kids, with a narcissistic ex husband with whom she shared custody. Mason is single, 11 years her junior, and still affected by a very traumatic past.

Watching as the characters start their journey with explosive attraction that progresses into a casual relationship, which turns into something more serious, all while dealing with their own personal, emotional baggage like insecurities, fear of getting close, and so on, was just so emotional. This had me shedding tears at a few different parts, because their love for each other and the life the characters are building for themselves is just so beautiful. And Mason’s love and gratitude for his brother, Bodhi, is just on a whole other level but that’s what trauma will do to you. I’m really looking forward to when we will learn more about Bodhi and his past. Until then, I look forward to the next couple’s story in the series.

Admittedly, beginning any author's series on book #3 isn't the best way to get into a new to me author. That's totally on me.

But - luckily... it was more than okay. This group of characters and this town are easy to connect with and enjoy. Would I have liked to avoid all the spoilers? 100%. Did I instantly go back to the author’s catalog and one-click all the others in this series before leaving this review?
You betcha!

Mason is a sweet guy who has lived through some difficult times in his 23 years, but is finding some peace in this small town. Lana is a single mom, trying to start over, and dealing the best she can. This reverse age gap is filled with such undeniable chemistry between these two, it was easy to turn these pages!

I loved my time with these characters, and cannot wait to get into the prior stories, to fill in the gaps. I really recommend reading this series in order for the best experience, but I received this complimentary ARC (thank you) and happily jumped right in.
I voluntarily leave my review, and cannot wait for the next one.

Thirty-four year old single mother of two Lana is tapped to do a blind date-themed photo shoot by a friend in her new circle, never expecting to be immediately swept off her feet by the much younger hunk she’s been paired with. Their attraction is incendiary and undeniable, but after the disastrous marriage she endured, she’s unprepared for this one off to become so serious so quickly.

Having barely survived a trag!c childhood filled with loss, v!ol3nc3, and a rotating h0rr0r show of foster homes, twenty-three year old Mason has lived many lifetimes in his own. As soon as he gazes upon Lana, he knows she’s the one for him, even though she’s up front about not being ready for anything serious.

Lana’s children and Mason’s foster brother and friends, however, will do all they can to facilitate their burgeoning connection. On the opposing team is a v!nd!ct!ve ex-husband with serious boundary issues, as well as Lana and Mason’s own self worth.

This was a sexy, serious, and lovely book about birth versus found family, overcoming adversity, and embracing love when it shows up. This book is part of a series, but it works perfectly as a standalone.

The way Lana is so fiercely protective of her children while also making room in her life for Mason, Bodhi’s shepherding of Mason throughout their difficulties and in the present, the friends surrounding them all with love and support, it’s just a wonderful environment of which anyone would love to be a part.

I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from The Author Agency, and I’m very pleased to share my wholehearted review.

5+ stars. This was simply exceptional writing. So much raw emotion and a great flowing story. The epilogue is just the perfect *chef kiss* ending to an amazing story. This is the best book by this author that I've read so far. I hope Bodhi gets his story next, I neeeeeed to read about him.

5 stars, baby!!

I absolutely loved Mason and Lana. They were so adorable together and he was so sweet, he had me kicking my feet while reading. It was instalove at its finest but there was no cringe, it was just wholesome.

I’d been so curious about Mason and Bodhi from the very beginning so I was excited to finally get Mason’s story. His history was heartbreaking but the way it turned him into the sweet yet strong man he was was beautiful. I loved the way he was all in with Lana, Beck, and Holland and the way he stood up for them in certain scenes was so precious.

Once Lana got out of her own way, it was clear she was perfect for Mason. He’s been through so much trauma and she was willing to stand by him and help heal him.

Seeing all the side characters from the first few books and also Clementine Creek is always fun but the top highlight for me was the text threads. If you went back to look at my previous AH reviews, I’m an absolute simp for them and this book was no exception.

I cried twice in this book. Once during the scene with Bodhi towards the end, you’ll know the one, and during the press conference in the epilogue. I’m thankful we didn’t get a third act breakup but damn, AH got me in the feels.

Overall this was a very sweet, wholesome small town romance with heavy emphasis on the found family trope. I absolutely cannot wait for what comes next (it better be Bodhi’s book!!) hahaha

An unputdownable journey between two people who needed each other. Mason and Luna both are on emotional journeys, of finding themselves and happiness.

A stranger photoshoot is how they meet, and from there we learn what these two people have been through. Both have baggage, but Mason’s confidence and Luna’s determination to be better for her kids, makes for a beautiful story.

The found family is strong, group texts are hilarious, and they are all wrapped up in a small town.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 Small town, single mom, reverse age gap, opposites attract.
🤩 I’m so smitten with this strangers photo shoot—a blindfolded meet-cute with so much personality. And that first kiss is everything for a greedy for feels reader like me. ❤️‍🔥🫠
🤩 Mason is such a good dirty talker, but oh, so sweet too. “We’ll go slow, figure out what you like,” . . . “and I promise I have no problem putting in the work, Dream Girl.” 🌶️🥵
🤩 I love a single mom story where the MMC (Mason Amato) is just so perfect for the FMC’s (Lana Richards’) kids.
🤩 I adore the MCs so much. The longing for them both to have their HEA is deep.
🤩 The brotherly love between Mason and Bodhi is fantastic and swoony. I’m so ready for Bodhi’s story this spring—Quietly Falling.
🤩 The back stories are so captivating but also full of trauma and emotion.
🤩 All the text chats (girl group and guy group) to give us the comedic entertainment and relief.
🤩 The characterization comes through so well in the text chats between Mason and Lana.
🤩 Found family.
🤩 Yeah, I bawled in the epilogue. I’m here for the HEA ,and a true in the future epilogue feels so good.
🤩 If I could give one person in this book a gift, I’d give Mason this “I like my girls a little bit older” hat I keep seeing on TikTok. He’d make it go viral!

What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 I was hoping for a little more of the frisky and fun in the last half of the book to balance all the heavy and intense stuff going on. I just love when Alexandra Hale makes me smile and smirk while I’m reading.
💫 There’s so much to celebrate in this beautiful story, but I’m just not sure about the half birthday party.

Rating note: I rate based on my own personal feels of the love, longing, laughs, and lusty goodness while I’m reading. Alexandra is an autobuy author for me, and I highly recommend you read her captivating books. She writes small town, found family so right!

“I’ve lived a thousand lifetimes in my twenty-three years and I know how fleeting it can be—how precious—so I won’t be wasting it on staged moments and filtered happiness.”

This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it. The stranger photoshoot meet-cute was so adorable. Mason’s backstory was tragic but it only made him appreciate life that much more, which was exactly what newly divorced, single mom Lana didn’t know she needed. I loved how even though Mason was 11 years younger than Lana, he knew what he wanted and kept showing up for her and her kids. He was supportive and committed to being a true partner from the very beginning. Lana’s character growth after divorcing her cheating husband was great to see as well. I’m going to try to go back and read some of the previous books because the found family aspect of this book has me curious about some of the other couples too.

“I’d never felt more connected to a person in my entire life, like our souls were twining together in a way that could never come undone. And I didn’t want them to. Because Mason Amato had been made for me.”

ARC Review: 4.5 ⭐️

Meant To Be Falling is book 3 in the Blackstone Falls series featuring Mason Amato & Lana Richards.

Mason & Lana are paired up at strangers photo shoot and end up having a wild connection to one another. After the shoot mason invites Lana out for ice cream so they can get to know one another more.

Lana is a single mom of 2 kids who has been experiencing many issues with her ex husband / father of her children. Mason was a faster child since he was a young kid and has experienced many hardships because of it.

Despite the age gap, neither one of them can ignore the connection. But when ghosts from both of their pasts come to surface will it drag them apart or will they band together and live out their HEA as a family ?

This book had me tearing up many times and the emotions in the epilogue had tears streaming down my face like facets. Such a great small town found family story and I love this little town!

Thank you Alexandra for the ARC!

• found family
• childhood trauma
• reverse age gap (11 years)
• single mom

I’ve loved the other Blackstone Falls books but so far, this one takes the cake.

Both at various stages of being the “new kids in town, Mason and Lana meet on a blind date photo shoot of a mutual friend. It was practically love at first sight for Mason when he sees his Dream Girl after taking off his blindfold.

Lana is so skeptical of the age gap but childhood trauma (for Mason) and a recent and terrible divorce (for her) aside, they’re very much into each other.

They go through the wringer together, both dealing with insecurities and attempted sabotages to end their relationship but they both show up for one another and never waiver.

SO SO SO GOOD.

This reverse age gap romance was another brilliant book from Alexandra. Mason and Lana's journey was so emotional, and I loved the development of their relationship, which was paced brilliantly, and I loved the connection that formed between Mason, Beck, and Holland. The plot was perfect, and I loved the community vibes, and the group text messages were an added bonus. Lana was an amazing mother who was determined to move on and created a beautiful life for her and her children. Mason may have been younger than Lana, but an immediate connection formed between them, and I enjoyed reading their journey.

Thank you to Alexandra for the ARC.

Mason and Bodhi’s story has been on my mind for a long time. Finally, we get to read about Mason. He embodies the ideal man—sweet, caring, and willing to sacrifice everything for his loved ones.

My heart goes out to Lana. Growing up with a single mother, I can deeply relate to her experiences my mom went through . The story touched my heart so much that I couldn’t help but shed tears. While the ending was uplifting, I also felt the pain that her children endured.

My very first book by Alexandra Hale and it was a reverse age gap, single mum, and I absolutely loved it.
Lana, she was betrayed by the man she loved in the worst way, and now she has moved to a new town, with her kids and she is starting over.

Mason, he experienced the loss of his parents and then the foster care system. His past is painful but he and his older brother Bodhi, have created a new life for themselves and it is one they love.

Mason and Lana's meet cute, was beautiful. He fell for her instantly. And he made sure she always knew she was it for him. The love Mason had for the kids, that epilogue! 🥲♥️

Beautifully written 🧡

If I could give this book infinity stars I would!!! Alexandra Hale has done it again!!! This is now my new favorite book she has ever wrote! Mason and Lana will forever have my heart. Their instant connection was so perfect. I cannot get over how much of an amazing man Mason is, he has been through hell and back and deserves the perfect family. Lana has gone through a brutal divorce and got the perfect man for her and for her kids. If you haven’t read this gem of a book, run and go grab it now!!
As always thank you Alexandra for letting me be apart of your ARC team.

Alexandra Hale has yet to write a book that does not suck me in immediately! Mason has been around for a few books now and Ms. Hale has given readers little tidbits about him. This sweet as a peach of a man is about to get his HEA.

Meeting Lana on a blind photo shoot he feels an immediate connection to her and vice versa. They pretty much jump in head first with each other. One can never deny chemistry and that is for sure what these two have.

11 years his senior and a single mom of two, Lana cannot believe her attraction to Mason and has slight fears about a future but doesn’t let it deter her. The way he is with her, the way he is with her kids…she would be crazy to let him get away.

I absolutely LOVED these two so much. Mason has always shown to have a big heart and he proves it over and over when it comes to Lana and the kids. He is so good with them. Seeing her come out of her “single mom” she’ll and make friends and become part of the found family this series revolves around made me so happy.

Ms. Hale has an extreme knack for these small town, found family stories. I cannot get enough of them. The epilogue of this one though….it truly made my heart soar.

Oh, mercy! Alexandra Hale had me blushing, laughing, appalled, crying and swooning with a big smile with this book. Yeah, this is one that will have you gushing and needing a fan one moment and in the next it’s tugging at your heartstrings. There are so many wonderful characters in this book but of course the MFC Lana Richards takes center stage and the MMC Mason Amato is the force behind it all. He is definitely getting the book boyfriend award from me as well as the best stepdad award too. Their story starts with a blindfolded stranger photo shoot….ok, doesn’t that get your attention on its own? Lana is a thirty-four year old divorced mom of a twelve year old son, Beck, and an eight year old daughter, Holland. Those two will steal your heart for sure. Mason is twenty three years old…yes, he’s eleven years younger than Lana…and was placed in foster care at the age of seven. I will leave the rest of his story for you to read about but because of Bodhi, his foster care brother, Mason has survived the system, several tragic events and has now become a man anyone could be proud of and others should strive to be like. On the photo shoot, the magic of two souls “Meant to be” together and a physical chemistry that was undeniable pull the two together but Lana worries she has too much baggage and is too old for the young, easy going Mason…until he tells her about his baggage…wow…you can’t beat that for some of the worse first date conversations. It’s honest, it’s raw but the man is on a mission to get his “Dream Girl”. As the story unfolds, the two will have to face some struggles including an ex-husband who seems to think he can now control what Lana does but not be there for his kids while Mason will show Lana the caring man he is by creating many enjoyable family bonding experience, teaching Beck how to handle his anger, taking Holland to the Father/Daughter dance and always being the support Lana needs. Yes, BEST BOYFRIEND!
I finished this book and literally said “Wow!” as tears trickled down my face. Emotional? Yes! Definitely a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+💖 The author has written her book, her characters, their story so well that I became totally, undeniably wrapped up in them. I wanted to be a part of their lives…who wouldn’t? The playful banter (usually through texts) between the book club friends, Lana’s friends although most are connected to Mason too, and the teasing and love shown through the group of men’s text are so delightfully humorous while being just as much heartfelt. Blackstone Falls, Tennessee may be a fictional small town but it’s the place I would want to be if it wasn’t and it truly had people like these.
Be aware that I do recommend it for adults only because of multiple steamy scenes/language and for possible triggers it does mention some sensitive subject matters such as spousal murder and abuse & murder in foster care. If you have read this far on my review, then maybe you will understand when I say, that if you want to read a book that models unselfish love, love as a couple and love for a family, a family not necessarily defined by birth, a book that will emotionally touch you, then don’t hesitate to get this one.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What to Expect:
✨ Single Mom
✨ Reverse Age Gap (11 Years - She’s Older)
✨ Found Family
✨ He Falls Hard for Her Kids
✨ Stranger Photoshoot Meet Cute
✨ Small Town Antics
✨ Spice + Swoon

Meant to Be Falling, book three in Alexandra Hale’s Blackstone Falls series, is a heart-melting romance that checks all the right boxes: sweet, tender, and irresistibly charming. This book beautifully celebrates the power of found family, the resilience of the human spirit, and the unexpected magic of love when it sneaks up on you. While it works perfectly as a standalone, let’s be real—why would you deny yourself the pleasure of the first two books? I certainly won’t.

Now, let’s talk about Mason and Lana, the MCs. Mason, a 23-year-old with a tragic past and a heart of gold, is nothing short of perfection. Life hasn’t been kind to him, but despite his pain, he knows one thing with absolute certainty: Lana is his forever. Even as Lana, a fiercely protective single mom of two, hesitates to open her heart again, Mason dives in headfirst, proving himself not only to her but also to her kids.

Their love story isn’t without its bumps. Lana’s past is determined to cause trouble, and both Mason and Lana grapple with their own self-doubts. But through it all, their connection deepens, thanks in part to their incredible support system: Lana’s kids, Mason’s foster brother Bodhi, and a tight-knit circle of friends who rally around them.

Mason and Lana together? Pure magic. Their chemistry is off the charts, the kind that makes you grin like an idiot and kick your feet in delight. Mason’s unwavering sweetness and their insta-love connection never once veer into cheesy territory; it’s wholesome, heartfelt, and oh-so-satisfying.

Mason’s journey is especially moving. His backstory is raw and heartbreaking, but it shaped him into the strong, tender man who’s all in, not just for Lana but for her kids, too. Watching him fiercely protect them in key moments? Cue the waterworks.

As for Lana, she’s not without her struggles, but once she gets past her fears, it’s clear she’s exactly what Mason needs. Her willingness to stand by him and help him heal is the kind of love that feels transformative.

This story isn’t just about romance it’s about second chances, healing, and embracing love when it shows up, no matter how messy life might be. Add in some perfectly crafted text threads (seriously, they’re a highlight), a touch of steam, and the cozy charm of small-town life, and you’ve got a must-read.

Meant to Be Falling is everything I adore in a small-town romance: sweet, wholesome, and brimming with found-family vibes. I laughed, I cried (oof, my heart), and now I’m eagerly awaiting the next book.

Thank you to the author, Alexandra Hale, and The Author Agency team for the ARC opportunity.

Book Review: MEANT TO BE FALLING by Alexandra Hale

It’s Friday so you know what that means another edit of Fangirl Friday!!! And this week I have the latest installment of the phenomenal series by Alexandra Hale!! It’s Blackstone Falls book 3!!

I love this series from book one with Montana and Ellison to Jensen and Nessa!! I am head over heels for Mason and Lana!!!

The meet cute of a strangers photograph session was the best way to start this book and the inferno of chemistry that sparked from page one with this two was delicious. I want that in my life it was so beautiful and hot! Their relationship grows and their bond deepens as the story unfolds.

Lana is a single mom of two kids her ex is a prime example of a narcissistic asshat. She’s still living with the trauma and so now with Mason who is 11 years younger she’s having to reprocess her old responses to him and realizing he isn’t her ex.

I loved watching these characters grow and flourish and become a family. There were so many moments I cried for them and their backstories.
I loved the found family aspect of this story between Mason and Bodhi to his mama. It just was perfect and the example Mason set for the kids about how a dad should be and how to be a partner. Like I loved the quote he says so much I sent it to my husband.

“But isn’t she just happy she doesn’t have to get the groceries?” “It’s part of it. But Beck, being a partner isn’t about just completing a task. It’s about doing it right. I’m trying to help your mom—take some of the burden. I want her to look at me and say ‘He’s got this. I don’t need to worry or second-guess or do it over because he screwed it up.”

I cannot wait for Bodhi’s book I’m on pins and needles!

Favorite Quotes:

“People will always find something to judge, but that’s a reflection of them, not you,”

“I want you.” His mouth moves to the other side. “The kids.” This time when he releases the sensitive peak, he moves up my body, his mouth hovering over mine. “I want it all.” “Well then, buckle up, Mr. Amato, because it’s yours.”

“If you’re not scared, you’re not doin’ it right. Be a good partner, father, and friend. Tell her she’s right even when she’s not, and for the love of all that is holy, look for your damn keys before you ask her where they are.”

“Age means nothing when it comes to the miles on your boots, and you,”—he nods toward me—“ have done a lot of walkin’.”

🏡Age Gap (11 years - she's 34, he's 23)
🔥Small Town
🏡Insta-Love (He falls hard and fast)
🔥Single Mom
🏡Found Family
🔥Trauma Bonding

This was a quick, enjoyable read about 2 people (Mason and Lana) who meet during a stranger's photoshoot and have an undeniable instant connection.

I loved that there was an immediate spark, and that we got right to some spicy times; especially because we often get these single mom books where we have to wait forever for the mom to allow herself to enjoy the man who's now (rightfully) obsessed with her.

Some angst follows the quick start, and it's understandable because of her ex-husband drama and the trauma she still carries from that, as well as her wanting to be careful with this very new guy around her kids, but they both mostly jump into the deep end and let their intense feelings lead the way. I kind of love seeing a woman who'd normally be expected to be careful and calculated with her emotions allow herself to feel and experience things with a new man while still balancing her responsibilities to her kids and their feelings.

I have to admit that I didn't love how the author basically used the "wise beyond his years" or "mature for his age" excuse for their age gap. Whether the younger party is male or female, I don't like when they're under 25, especially when the age gap is large like this one, so this age gap and the way it was addressed did bring down my rating a bit.

The kids were sweet, and I liked that the struggles both Lana and Mason faced in their relationships with them felt real. It's unfortunate that a lot of divorced parents' relationships are similar to the dynamic between Lana and her ex-husband in this one, because I definitely prefer reading about healthy exes that have plenty of examples of great coparenting, but I did like how Mason tried to help without overstepping and checked in regularly with Lana about how to help her with the kids. It was very sweet watching him fall in love with her kids, and it's one of my favorite things about a single mom romance. 🥰

This is the first book I've read by this author, so you don't need to read the others in the series to enjoy this one, but it'd definitely help for context with the side characters because they're pretty heavily featured in this. I am interested in reading more from this author, and I really want to know more about Mason's brother Bodhi and I hope that he'll be getting a book. He's a very interesting character and I was already feeling like maybe Lana's bestie/her ex's former mistress (she didn't know she was a mistress when she met him) Amara might be a good FMC for him, but I'd honestly just love to see more of him being soft and sweet for Lana's daughter if that's all I can get. 😍😍

I think you'd enjoy this if you enjoy the tropes and/or you've read the previous books in this series.
*I received an advanced copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

This heartfelt installment in the series delivers a deeply emotional, sweet, and sizzling small-town romance that’s impossible to put down. Lana, a thirty-four-year-old single mother of two, agrees to a blind date-themed photo shoot and is instantly captivated by her much younger match, Mason. Their chemistry is undeniable, and despite Lana’s reservations about love after a disastrous marriage, Mason’s steadfast dedication makes it clear he’s ready to fight for their future together.

Mason’s backstory is gut-wrenching yet inspiring. Having endured a trag!c childhood filled with loss and foster care hardships, he’s emerged as a sweet, resilient, and fiercely protective man. His instant connection with Lana and her children, Beck and Holland, feels organic and wholesome, making it easy to root for their happily-ever-after. Lana, initially cautious, gradually learns to embrace the love and stability Mason offers, proving that sometimes, the perfect partner comes when you least expect it.

The supporting characters shine in this book, from Mason’s foster brother Bodhi to the vibrant network of friends in Clementine Creek. Their unwavering support amplifies the found family theme, adding depth and warmth to the story. The text threads among characters are a delightful touch, offering humor and heartfelt moments that balance the book’s heavier themes.

The lack of a third-act breakup is refreshing, allowing the narrative to focus on growth, healing, and the strength of love. The press conference in the epilogue and an emotional scene with Bodhi toward the end deliver all the feels, leaving readers teary-eyed yet satisfied.

This is a small-town romance at its finest, with just the right mix of sweetness, spice, and depth. While part of a series, it works seamlessly as a standalone. Highly recommended for fans of found family, wholesome romance, and characters who overcome adversity to find love and belonging.

Get! This! Book! It’s absolutely outstanding and so insanely heart felt and touching it has the tears flowing like water over a dam, your heart growing two sizes, and totally wrecks you in all the best and most meaningful ways. Filled with nothing but raw honesty and total sincerity, it radiates warmth, has bonds that are so tight and significant it takes your breath away, crackles with chemistry, and hands down gives you one of the best reverse age gap romances ever! You’ll smile, you’ll laugh, your heart will break, and you will never get over how deeply Mason makes you fall for him or how incredibly special what he and Lana give each other and build together is.

Totally up front, I’m not a huge fan of reverse age gap, it usually just feels off to me, but this one is so well written, the storyline and characters so good, and the relationship that is built so natural feeling, that I would recommend it again and again, read it multiple times, and could not love a read more. Mason is a remarkable character with a heart-breaking background that makes him so well suited to be with Lana, raise her kids, and understand so many of the things they’re going through, and it makes every part of his relationship ring so true there isn’t a second you’re not totally sure being with Lana and her kids is exactly where he wants to be. Lana is totally relatable, pretty adorable, I love how she lets herself fall for Mason and I really love that she’s not over the top about the age gap but still up front about her concerns with what it might bring in their future. The relationship with the kids is written phenomenally, I love the found family in this book, and what Bodhi and Mason share as chosen brothers is one of the most beautiful things ever. This is plain and simple just a must read that I will never stop talking about.

“Be Easy. Easy and Free”

ARC review:

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I adore @authoralexandrahale and her writing! She is my favorite small town romance writer.

This story may be my favorite of her (I say that with every book of hers that I read though).

Mason and Lana have an instant connection at a blind photo shoot and things move so fast for them (in the best way). He called her “Dream Girl” 😍😍

Lana went through so much with her exhusband and Mason showed her exactly how she deserved to be treated. He completely reworked how she saw her partner and what support from a partner looks like. Seeing Mason get to move into a father role and give Lana’s kids all the love he never had growing up was in incredible. The way he loved Lana and her kids was 😍

Mason and Bodhi have been through so much and the support they give each other was so heart warming and heart wrenching because of everything they had been through together. We finally got to learn more about their history and previous lives before moving to the small town that is changing their lives.

I loved the Clementine Creek characters cameo’s. The way Alexandra continues the stories in this small town Tennessee world is amazing and I am here for it.

The ending of this story…holy shït it had me crying (and I never cry while reading). The epilogue was honestly perfection!

This book is a must read, but honestly so is everything that Alexandra writes!

This book had the cutest “meet cute” I have read in a while! Have you ever seen photographers post “stranger shoots” and wonder if they hit it off and became a real thing? If you have this is the book for you!

You meet Lana who is a single mom in her 30’s. We also meet Mason who is in his 20’s..Mason is there because someone else backed out so as luck would have it Mason stood in instead and let’s just say the fireworks were explosive between these two.

I adored Lana and Mason. These two had so much chemistry from the beginning of the book till the end. The way they had easy conversations and both agreed they wanted more with each other was perfect. Remember the saying that communication is key? This is the book for that! You will not find any miscommunication here because these two communicate everything and I loved that!

I adored Mason’s relationship with not just Lana but her children as well. Mason’s background will make you tear up as well as brother Bodhi’s. There were so many times I wanted to reach into this book and just hug them both and tell them that I pick them.

The ending of this book had me in tears. It was such a perfect ending to the story and Beck and Mason had me crying my eyes out but it was just so perfect for this family.

Don’t let this book fool you though it is full of heart, love and we can’t forget spice…oh the mouth Mason has on him and our FMC Lana as well will have you blushing. So if all of the above and adding that it is a small town romance and found family is something you enjoy I highly recommend this book/series

Thank you to the author and the author agency for the arc of this book.

Fate plays its hand when Lana and Mason get set up for a photoshoot with a stranger through a mutual acquaintance. Mason-with a lonely past filled with tragedy and Lana-newly divorced from her cheating husband and managing newly single parenthood in a new town, both crave the connection they’ve longed for, for so long. Though they agreed to the photoshoot as a favor to their friend, they found an instant connection with each other even with the cards stacked against them. An eleven year age gap, and a son only half Mason’s age nearly kept them apart, but Mason’s determination to make things work makes him hard for Lana to resist.

This was such a delightful read! My whole heart ached for Mason and the childhood he endured, but I loved how it helped him to effortlessly love Lana and her kids. They both had so many scars, but Mason’s wise-beyond-his-years ways made life so much better for the whole family. The kids were so dang cute, and Beck is the sweetest big brother! I despise her ex husband; he was a douche of all douches, and Lana totally upgraded with Mason. The found family in this series is so beautiful, and these people really come together and help protect each other.

The epilogue had me in tears and was the sweetest ending that I could ever imagine for Mason & Lana. This story definitely had me in my feels!

Can we pretty, pretty please have Bodhi’s story soon! I’m dying for that poor soul to find his happiness! 🙃

I Was honoured to receive this as an advance copy of this story and this is my honest review

Mason is 23yrs but due to his past he is very mature and protective of those around him.
Lana Richards 34 divorced single mum. Things get messy when her ex-husband turns up.

It's refreshing to read a story where the characters just click pretty much straight away.

As it takes place in a small town you can always be guaranteed that anything and everything can and will happen. You know that it is a great story when you can imagine yourself living in that place and you are also friends with all the characters.

Age gap books especially reverse age gaps can be a difficult trope to write as you have to get the characters just right. Alexandra has made this seem really easy.

Alexandra is always that one author that you read one of her books and get hooked on her writing as you think WOW that was great but somehow she always makes the next book even better.

I just love stories that have text messages in them - sounds crazy right? especially as this is still a modern concept in books.

I don't think authors get enough credit for doing this in books because we all take this for granted as a daily event, but the author has to retrain learning how to write texts suitable for books without serious abbreviations and emojis but still keeping this - fun, flirty and something that you would never be brave enough to say in person.

This book is filled with so much warmth and love
Weave through lots of lots hot and steamy parts

I loved this book so much I can't stop recommending this to my friends.

ARC Review

I was completely charmed by Mason and Lana! Their chemistry was adorable, and Mason's sweetness had me swooning throughout the story. It was a classic case of instalove, but thankfully, it felt genuine and heartwarming rather than cringeworthy.

I was definitely intrigued with Mason and Bodhi from the start of the book, so I am happy I was given the opportunity to ARC read. Unfortunately I haven't read the first two books but will be doing that eventually.

Mason's past is heart-wrenching, but it beautifully transforms him into the kind-hearted yet resilient man we see and I'm hoping to learn more in the next book. The way he fully commits to Lana, Beck, and Holland, standing up for them in key moments, truly warmed my heart.

Once Lana let go of her reservations, it was evident that she and Mason were meant for each other. Despite his traumatic experiences, she was determined to support him on his healing journey.

I loved how fiercely protective Lana is of her children while also opening her heart to Mason. Bodhi’s unwavering support for Mason adds depth to their bond, and the surrounding cast of friends creates a nurturing atmosphere anyone would envy.

This book masterfully blends themes of birth versus chosen family, overcoming challenges, and welcoming love when it arrives. While it’s part of a larger series, it reads wonderfully as a standalone.

Overall, this was a delightful small-town romance with a strong focus on the found family theme. I’m eagerly anticipating what’s next—here’s hoping for Bodhi and Amara!

ARC Review:
This book is quite possibly my favourite of all the books Alexandra has written!

The relationship between Mason and Lana was everything, the way they met (Stranger Photo Shoot - super cute!), the communication with not only between themselves but with her kids Beck and Holland, the understanding of each others situations and struggles, and the love they have for each other. I also adored that we got to see the Thayer boys from Clementine Creek again, the love they share with not only their blood family, but also with their friends they call family is so touching and shows what a great community can be by showing up for each other, especially during times of struggles. I really liked how the relationship with Lana’s douche of an ex-husband was done, even it’s terrible to see a parent do so wrong by their kids, the love that Mason shows for Lana’s kids more than makes up for that. As someone who went through the Foster system he understood the struggles Beck and Holland were going through and showed them that there is good in the world, and how to manage things when they aren’t so good. When I didn’t think I could love the story anymore the Epilogue happened 6 years later and it made me happy cry so hard.

The talent that Alexandra Hale has is always improving with each book even when I think she couldn’t get any better. Her books are seriously the best comfort reads I’ve ever read and will never stop singing her praise and sharing her books with everyone I know. GO READ THIS BOOK!

Meant to Be Falling by Alexandra Hale is a mix of romance, emotion, and a spice. The story follows Lana, a single mom navigating life post-divorce, and her unexpected connection with a much younger Mason, who steps in last minute for a stranger photoshoot that one of Lana’s friends is having her do.
The premise of a reverse age gap romance is intriguing, and Hale does a commendable job of exploring the dynamics of their relationship. I appreciate the fact that it is an age-gap that features an older woman as most writers have a man as the older person in the relationship. At 23, Mason feels the weight of societal expectations, yet his determination to pursue Lana, who is 11 years his senior, adds depth to the narrative. Their chemistry is palpable, and I appreciated how he quickly bonds with her children, further enhancing the theme of found family.
While the main plot kept me engaged, I did find myself occasionally lost in the various backstories of Lana's and Mason’s friends and community members. It’s clear that this book is part of a larger series, but it can be enjoyed as a standalone. The world-building is rich, but at times, it felt a bit overwhelming as I tried to keep track of all the connections.
Overall, Meant to Be Falling is a charming read that balances romance and the challenges of love across different stages of life. If you enjoy stories that explore the complexities of relationships in a small-town setting, this book is definitely worth picking up.
Would recommend to fans of contemporary romance looking for a heartfelt story with a spice!
