I thoroughly enjoyed reading REVENGE AND REDEMPTION by Douglas Edwards. As a follow-up to the Iron Triangle series, I was glad to see how Sgt. Holt fared after the war. Retirement? No way, not for this soldier. Danger and killing are in Holt's blood, and his best friend, Joe, doesn't want to miss out on any of the action either and insists on joining him. So, he accompanies Holt during the planning and execution of these missions.

Holt stayed in Thailand after the Vietnam War ended and now owned three bars and a group of monkeys; one of them acts human. I found some of the banter between Joe, Holt, and others comical and laughed out loud.

When Holt was recommended to find a missing American Diplomat who had been kidnapped, this started a chain of events. Holt, Joe, and their team of mercenaries found themselves deep in Laos and Burma to battle drug lords and corrupt politicians. The story includes never-ending action and held my interest from beginning to end. It is also a stand-alone book, and reading the series is unnecessary before engaging in this sequel.

My only complaint, which cost this book a star, is the number of incomplete sentences due to missing words; another full edit will catch and correct these errors. This bothered me because the author's other books were error-free. Nevertheless, I recommend this book to anyone interested in how Revenge and Redemption can be served. If you've read the Iron Triangle Series, don't let this one pass you by.

Really hoping this series continues!

Have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Have grown invested in the people involved and how their stories turn out. The good things are really good and the bad things are really bad. The decisions and actions Holt and the others make and take are believable. Don’t think the story is over.
