From the
I want to echo the sentiments of millions of Israelis, diaspora Jews, Christians, Hindus, and sympathetic Muslims regarding the horrors of October 7 and its aftermath. These are indeed profoundly troubling times. The world is at war. Conflicts have ignited across the Middle East and continental Europe with Russia’s adventurism across Ukraine.
Israel’s retaliatory strikes against various terror groups – Iranian proxies – are designed to reset the strategic balance in the Middle East. War is ugly. People die, and those who are left behind suffer immeasurably. As I’m writing this, over one hundred Israeli hostages remain unaccounted for in terror tunnels – ostensibly in Gaza – or elsewhere.
The terrorist attacks of October 7 were never going to achieve Palestinian statehood. If anything, they were designed to cause pain and suffering among Palestinians. Hamas is wholly responsible for the melee. They bear the burden of death and destruction in Gaza. By hiding in and among innocent civilians, they are the reason for collateral damage in the coastal enclave; with Hamas largely dismembered and the terror group in ruins, it is up to the Palestinian people to move forward.
Once they renounce radical Islamist doctrine, they will be met with a peace offering from the other side. Peace-loving Palestinians have an opportunity to shape the future. We must support them wherever they are in this noble endeavor. Middle East peace is complex. We don’t claim to have the answers, but we must try to forge a new path forward. After watching this senseless violence for decades, one thing is painfully we must stop the hate.
The entire pro-Israel community, including Jews and Gentiles, inspired this exhaustive body of work. Many people provided fascinating insights and historical perspectives to bring this powerful, gut-wrenching work to life. It is a collective effort.
