Siles defies death to resurrect Madi, sacrificing part of his life force in the process. The ritual succeeds, but it leaves him irrevocably changed—now connected to the spirits with newfound clarity and purpose that the resistance desperately needs. The former Viali of the Spectral Syndicate now possesses a profound connection with the spirits, granting him clarity and purpose that the resistance desperately needs. With ancestral secrets in hand, he begins to strategize a shift in the power dynamic against the ERA.
Yet, Madi’s return is not without cost. The necromancy that brought her back has twisted their love, creating an unstable bond that threatens to unravel everything. The bond that once united them is now fraught with strange, unpredictable forces—an unspoken reminder of the dark magic that defied the natural order.
With Odessa consolidating power in his absence, Siles and Madi return to find themselves hunted. As they prepare for battle, Siles rallies the resistance for an uprising that could change their world—and their future—forever.
Shadows and ink stained echoes. Whispers with monsters, dines with villains. Weaving twisted closed-door tales where light dares not linger.
I'm dedicated to bringing you amazing tales pulled from the depths of my wild imagination to take you on a trip you will never forget with a hint of fright.
My own reading interests include dark fantasy, horror, dystopian, romantic subgenres, YA, bizarro, splatterpunk and cozies. And yes, my mind is as eclectic as my moods sometimes!
Though in regards to writing, dark fantasy is my jam—my heart always seem to long for monstrous tales. You may just find both in all my stories!
The Enchanted Elemental Empires series continues and things are getting really interesting. Madi is gone. No longer of this world. That is how the last book ended. But Siles isn’t going to let the woman he loves get away so easily. He does something he knows he shouldn’t...an act of necromancy. It brings her back, but not who she once was. She’s forgotten. This is a distraction that Siles doesn’t need, but he’s desperate to have her. Exiled he must now raise an army to fight against traitorous Odessa and reclaim what is his by right, and stop the ERA from being implemented and threatening to chain those with power into an unfair system. This book is a page-turner! Book one was good, but book two really hits its stride. The back and forth between Madi and Siles will keep you glued as Siles struggles with his emotions, balancing his need to regain his position, revenge on Odessa, and more. Madi struggles to remember who she is, and her life before. The final chapters though? Prepare for multiple POVs and so much more. You’ll be eagerly looking for the next book!
Sophea Chan has delivered the perfect conclusion with Echoes of the Fallen, part of the Enchanted Elemental Empires series. With the last story leaving us hanging with Madi being gone which leaves Siles on a mission to do the unthinkable—bring her back. However, of course it couldn’t be that simple and though she’s back, she’s forgotten everything. Now he has to work on helping her come fully back as she struggles to remember who she is and who he is to her, as well as for him to fight for both of them and finally get revenge on Odessa. This story will definitely keep you entertained till the end!
Echoes of the Fallen by Sohea Chan is part of the Enchanted Elemental Empires. This is the conclusion to Siles and Madi’s story. You must read the book Whispers of the Past to fully get into this book. Needless to say I was looking forward to this book because I wanted more. But I have to say I was very back and forth with it in the end. While I enjoy the world, the writing and all the twists and turns… I found myself incredibly frustrated with Siles and Madi. Like I get he sacrificed part of himself but the way he was acting was very much getting under my skin. Plus how she just didn’t seem to make a big deal out of the treatment. I don’t know, it just felt kind of off to me. The author did a good job making you feel the consequences of actions in this book. Even with my frustration with the characters I was still intrigued by the direction of the story and it kept my interest to the end. The writing and storytelling is very well done and it’s cool how things connect. I am looking forward to reading whatever is next from the author. I would recommend checking out this book and the vibe it brings.
This book is a tough one to rate and review… On the one hand, I really enjoyed the twists and turns in the storyline and all the different ways characters (both main and side) are connected with each other. Also, the consequences of Siles’s choice for Madi provide a very interesting storyline, and I really enjoyed the original plot of the entire duet.
However, I have to say I lost my connection to the two main characters in this second book. The behavior Siles shows towards the changes in Madi rubs me the wrong way, and after a while I can’t understand how Madi seems to gloss over it all like it’s nothing. So as a result, I was a bit frustrated at the end of this book, and I’m still not entirely over it. I’m not sure if it’s a me-thing or not, but it did result in my decision to leave this book at a four star rating.
This rather dark fantasy story follows the events of a grieving, exiled, yet powerful man - Siles - tapping into necromancy to resurrect his lost, murdered love Madi. The ritual succeeds, but not without heavy consequences that only unfold later, and not without immediate complications - the resurrected Madi does not have any memories of her previous life. Struggles with love, powers, and intricate politics weave through the story to paint a mosaic of grief, loss, betrayal, loyalty, and hope. I quite enjoyed the world building with its power system, the magical abilities, and the power play where no one can trust no one. The relationship between Siles and Madi was full of drama and unpredictable with Madi's condition, yet it was great to see it evolve once again.
Echoes of the Fallen is book 2 in the Spectral Syndicate series that is embedded in the Enchanted Elemental Empires shared universe! We are back with Siles and Madi but not without cost to them both. Siles finds a piece of himself lost when he brought Madi back to life, and Madi has been changed with the resurrection causing rift between them. But not all is lost as they both fight to protect those they love, and especially, each other. In the end, this was a beautiful conclusion to these two characters' duet. I have not read the other books in the shared universe, and I don't think readers will loose anything by not, but I may look into some of the other books to get a fuller picture of the world.
WoW!!!! There is just so much happening in this book with so many twists and turns.
The Enchanted Elemental Empires continues with Echoes of the Fallen, and oh boy does it deliver. We pick off where book one ended. Madi is gone. But Siles is not going to let her go with out a fight. He gets her back, but at what cost?
So Siles has his hands full with the not herself Madi, raise an army, and to reclaim what is his by right. He has his hands pretty full.
Echoes of the Fallen will keep your interest from beginning to end. So many twists and turns, non stop action it seems.
A great read, and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
Ooooooo I was waiting forever(just kidding, it just felt that way) for this book. That last cliffhanger was mean but this book was worth the wait. This book had me sucked back into this world from the first chapter. My heart went on an emotional rollercoaster with poor Siles. I often get frustrated with characters when they act up and this book is no different, it’s part of the story line and “builds character” but still sometimes I just want to shake my book. I can’t wait for the next book on the series and I’m hoping we see these two again later even though this was the end of their duet. Solid 4.5 but I’ll round up on this one.
Sophea gives us the fantastic finale to this duet within this overreaching series! The story of Madi and Siles continues with him using forbidden necromancy to bring her back from the dead. This leads to finding new and previous alliances to fight Odessa and the ERA. To find out how they make it to a hard won HEA, dive into this beautifully written book with complex characters and plot twists that keep you guessing and turning pages throughout. I loved reading this story and highly recommend the series! Don't miss out on this book!!
A wonderful conclusion to this duet, of Madi and Siles. With Siles using the forbidden magic of necromancy to bring Madi back to life, there was some unusual things that happened. At first it causes some great concern but as Siles works with different groups to form alliances to fight Odessa and ERA, he learns that Madi is a part of him that he needs. This stories conclusion is not as simple as you think. The complexity of the characters and the growth and understanding as they come together to fight a common evil gives you a story that will not let you put the book down until the final page.
This book starts out with Silas defying death to get Madi back. This changes him in a way that leaves him more open to the spirits. This book wasn't bad. The author was very detailed within this world. I think my biggest problem was that it had been so long since the first book, I don't remember it or how it ended and i didn't have time to reread it. Because of that, I had to reread sections to piece things together. The characters and story were well written, but make sure you read the books together.
This book keeps bringing on the twists and turns! With Madi gone now, Siles refuses to have that be the case and does something absolutely forbidden – he brings her back from the dead, but as it happens with this, she isn’t quite the same anymore.
But now exiles, he has to find alliances and create an army to fight Odessa and ERA. This book kept me on the edge of my seat while reading to find out how it would end. The ending was a little frustrating, but I did enjoy the book overall.
'Echoes of the Fallen' by Sophea Chan, is the second book of the 'Enchanted Elemental Empires' Series and marks the end of Madi and Siles' story. This is far from a happy romance. It has some dark themes, but this series certainly has a way of keeping your attention! The author does a brilliant job building this world, plot and creating these characters, flaws and all! It may not be for everyone, but it would be a shame to miss out on this awesome series!
Echoes of the Fallen by Sohea Chan is part of the Enchanted Elemental Empires. This one is the conclusion to Siles and Madi’s story it’s a dark fantasy.
Silas defies death to get Madi back by doing this he is changed and now more open to the spirits. I really enjoyed the twists and turns in the storyline it’s full of grief, loss, struggles betrayal, action loyalty, drama, hope and consequences involving magic
Siles uses necromancy to bring Madi back but it's not quite the seamless experience he was hoping for. Madi struggles to find herself and so does he. Was the cost to them too great?!
Making alliances to fight against Odessa's rule and the ERA, discovering aspects of themselves they didn't even know existed, get reading to find out how they win their hard earned HEA!
After the bombshell we were left with in the previous book Madi and Siles find each other again. With just a "little" necromancy, they get their HEA. Lots of twist and turns throughout the story which kept me guessing, which I liked. The back and forth between Madi and Silas was good. Madi was a bit of a "doormat" FMC which may annoy some readers but her cut her some slack. She just came back from the dead.
Echoes of the Fallen is part of the Enchanted Elemental Empires. You will need to read Whispers of the Past to fully understand this book. This book is the conclusion for Siles and Madi's story. I really enjoyed this book! I couldn't get enough of it. The characters can be a little irritating, but you learn to love them in the end! The way this story just pulls you in is amazing! I love Sophea Chan and can't wait to read more from her!
Echoes of the Fallen by Sohea Chan is part of the Enchanted Elemental Empires. Silas and Madi's Story started in Whispers of the Past (must read first) and finishes in Echoes of the Fallen. Madi has died at the end of book one. Siles can't let the woman he loves be gone forever. He does something forbidden. He uses necromancy. Madi comes back changed, no longer the person she was. Siles has been exiled. He must build an army to fight Odessa and stop the ERA.
Echos of the Fallen is the second and final book in the Spectral Syndicate duet and apart of the Enchanted Elemental Empires shared universe. This cannot be read as a standalone.
This was such a great duet. The world building was fantastic story and the twist and turns were unexpected. it's kind of bittersweet of how i felt about Silas and Madi in this one. However it was still an enjoyable read.
in resurrecting Madi, Siles gave part of himself away. But she did not rise whole, and it took a long time for her to get back what was missing. But Siles is determined. Not just in getting her completely back, but in getting everything he lost back. But Madi never was the sort to stand on the sidelines, and she will get her own past back, along with her future.
You must be able to completely sever yourself from the realities of this world in order to navigate the world within these pages.
Starts serious, dark, ominous. Necromancy is a forbidden magic, for a reason. But when your heart has been taken, the risk may be worth it. Read and find out if Siles and Madi get their HEA.
this is a great conclusion to this duet. Maddi and Siles are two very interesting characters. Siles is still using forbidden magic to bring Madi back. Some interesting things happen as he is doing this. Siles is able to handle everything though. He forms an alliance with ODessa and ERA and he learns that he needs Madi. this was an aboslutley epic conclusiion to this story
Siles has played with necromancy to bring Madi back. But sometimes not everything comes back the same. This book was an interesting and quick read for me. I am curious to see more from this author, but this was a quick read that had me wondering where it was going. As a new to me author, this is a good starting point to becoming a must read.
was a little unsure how i felt about the story at first but i did warm up to it. i felt so many conflicted emotions on how to feel for the characters and the turmail Madi was in.
it was def an interesting story that took me on one hell of emotional rollercoaster. but overall i ended up enjoying it 😊
Silas will do anything to get Madi back even breaking the rules. Him and Madi also end up learning the consequences of necromancy. There were some great twists and turns which kept me on my toes. I had fun reading this one and it’s a very satisfying conclusion. I didn’t get quite as swept up in it as the first one but still loved the characters.
Siles goes against everything to bring his love back to life and he loses some of his soul. This leaves him connected to the spirits and he will find that things will not be so easy. She is not as she once was so see just how it will all go
Siles has sacrificed a part of himself to bring Madi back and now with new consequences they both must navigate the changes this brings. This world hooked me with the different moving parts. It was emotionally packed and will have you frustrated at times but is well worth the read.
A fabulous read as Siles uses necromancey to bring Madi back from the dead and alliances are made to take on Odessa. A story full of compelling characters, new bonds and plot twists that has me gripped. An amazing book.
Siles and Madi find out the hidden consequences of necromancy. This conclusion to the duet is very satisfying. There are so many sub-plots and twists that you don't see coming. Questions answered in unexpected ways. It's an action packed book with a great world and characters. Enjoyable.
