For the second installment in a row, the story gets stuck on post-apocalyptic earth and loses the space aspect of the plot which I like better.

Tässä viidennessä osassa eeppinen scifitarina on vaihtanut vaihdetta aika lailla kokonaan Game of Thronesiksi. Tämä ei sinänsä haittaa - tarina on sujuvaa ja viihdyttävääkin, mutta tahtilajin on ihan eri. Koko kirjasarjaa oli aiemmin haitannut tietynlainen jännitteiden vähäisyys mikä tekee tarinoista helppolukuisia mutta jättää vähän pliisun vaikutelman. Tässä osassa niitä oli jo vähän enemmän ja tulevaisuuden tapahtumiakin pohjustettiin. Mutta seuraavissa osissa olisi jo kiva päästä takaisin tähtiin.

Really enjoyable series

The first book in this series really, for lack of a better explanation, messed with my head. Just the thought of being so completely and utterly alone… Anyway, I was hooked and here I am just finishing this book (#5) and very happy knowing there is a book 6 waiting. This is a great series, with each book a fun new adventure…. I’m off now to start the next one!

fun read

A light, fun (good), ideally read between heavier, more dense works. I’d recommend consuming something from Neal Stephenson, or someone similar and then read all 9 Voided Man novels! Great character dev, really bad science (but who cares, they’re so fun to read!)
