Destroying Everleigh

Rate this book
After being uprooted from my life on the south side, I was thrown head-first into a run-down house in the north. We were barely getting by. Mom was bedridden most of the time, my sister helped take care of our younger siblings when needed, and I was going to a nice college off a scholarship I’d earned.

Everything came crashing down around me when my ex-boyfriend decided to return to Brookhaven with his two best friends in tow—friends who hated me just as prominently as he did. If that wasn’t the icing on the freaking cake, they have made it their mission to break me, to destroy me, to take everything from me.

Ashton. The boy who had convinced himself and his friends that I’d betrayed him. The one who might have been the most ruthless of them all.

Jameson. His best friend who had also become mine. Yet, there was always something more between us. A blurred line that we’d tiptoed around on more than one occasion.

Kash. The one who chose to keep his distance, scared to confront the scorching attraction between the two of us. He’d been more of an acquaintance to me, but also a friend in his own, distant way.

They want to see me break, to paint themselves in my despair and watch as I begged for a mercy none of them were keen on granting.

They think they know the truth. But they only know the lie. A lie that’s going to set us all aflame.

I need a medal for reaching the end of this book..There is A LOT to unpack in this..

There were aspects of this book which I enjoyed, a hell of a lot of angst..

There's bullying to the max, like these guys went all out with wanting to take down Everleigh. They were nasty and nothing was off limits, not even degrading her little sister (18 years old) to be fair she should've known better than to do what she did and to what extent. There was no love lost between these two siblings. When really with the hand they were dealt they should've had the others back through thick and thin.

And then we hit the boys, I couldn't stand Ashton from the get go, he professed that she was the love of his life, even so much so that he wanted to take things up a notch. But if you loved someone as much as he claimed why then ask her to sleep with his two best friends, he was pushing this to happen, her first no should've been enough.

These guys and Everleigh were very close at one stage, then something went down, all the blame was pointed her way and they blocked her on all socials and left town, not one of these guys got her side of the story.

That was 3 years ago (don't quote me on that it's either 2 or 3 years)

Now they are all back in town with one thought in mind, destroying Everleighs life. No holds bar. Nothing is off limits.

The two other guys weren't so bad but they were team Ashton, even when they didn't agree with his actions.

Throughout all of this Everleigh did have a boyfriend, the complete opposite to Ashton, but that's neither here nor there.

Her actions and her sexual antics with the guys and her landlord (who jumped in when her back was to the wall) though in all fairness she did have another option, so this also gave me a sour taste in my mouth.

Then the question I asked, was she cheating, either way you look at it she wasn't faithful, but neither was he. Do two wrongs make a right, that's a fine line in this book. No one is accountable for their actions, the more degrading it seems the better, some over the top, some why add it..

I just think everything that went down was not really necessary, it was like if this scene didn't shock you I'll bring in another and another, less is best (in my case) it became too dramatic, too unrealistic..

I wanna start by saying that I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars. This book has me completely consumed and I can’t for the life of me stop thinking about it. I binge read this book all in one day, and I need more ASAP!
The hurt, betrayal, and trauma these MMC’s caused was just awful and when you thought it would stop, it just kept getting worse the more the book progressed. If you enjoy bully romances then this book is top tier on the scale and probably one of top five books I’ve read this year.
I can only imagine how rough of a ride book 2 is gonna be and I can now only count down the days till it comes. I’m a mess of emotions over this book, and I’m hoping the revenge coming is gonna be so sweet for Everleigh.
This is a MUST READ!!!!

This book is all I look for in a bully romance and the fact it's written by one of my favourite authors is a plus.
Everleigh, the FMC, is a kickass woman that took charge of her family when her mom got sick and their dad bailed. She has been looking after everyone for over 3 years, and even though it's hard, she has managed to deal with family, work, college, her soccer scholarship and her boyfriend.

Then, at the beginning of her college year, her ex-boyfriend appears. He transfered but wasn't expecting to find her there and he's not happy to see her.

Everleigh's story has broken me, and that cliffhanger, oh, my god! I need the next one.

Beware of the triggers, this book is dark and very hard to read.

I was given an ARC of Destroying Everleigh in exchange for my honest review.

Quite a few trigger warnings with this one, including rape, gang rape, exhibitionism, and violence against women. This is a super dark storyline.

First, let me say that I wanted to love this book SO much. Some of the scenes just made me cringe, and I wanted to yell at all of the characters SOOOO many times. Like, seriously??? How can any of them truly think some of the things they did were okay??

Ashton, Jameson, and Kash.....where do I even begin? Towards the end, I think that Kash was my favorite of the three. We see glimpses of each of their stories and what has shaped them over the years since they all first met Everleigh. Each of them also feels something for Everleigh - each in a different way. I know that this is a bully romance, but some of their actions bordered on cruel and unusual punishment.

Honestly though, I think the very last scene is what did me in. It was so horrific and traumatizing..... With the cliffhanger at the end, I definitely want to know what happens next! I'm just not sure how much poor Everleigh can take......she needs some sunshine and rainbows for heavens sakes!! :)

I received a copy of this book to review.

Destroying Everleigh is a very dark college bully romance. Everleigh starts dating Ashton when they are 15 and when they are 17, something happens that breaks them up. He moves away and she starts college a year later. Her mom is sick, so she's caring for her younger siblings while going to school. When Ashton moves back with his best friends, they have a plan to get revenge on her. They bully her and break her down. Ashton won't listen to her when she tries to explain what happened years ago. Ends on a tragic cliffhanger.

Great story. Is it a reverse harem or isn’t it? This author writes flawed characters and untraditional love affairs; you never know which love interest inside or outside the group will be part of the storyline. As one who loves other man drama, this author writes it.

The writing is, for me, overly detailed; too much is described, every action, every step, which doesn’t progress the book. It is distracting. Where I’d like more detail, and what would really complement the story, is more spice, especially with the main characters. But when the times it is spicy, it’s spicy. Hate sex, passionate sex, hot sex, even bland sex, this book has it all. Definitely plot-driven.

Strong heroine and bad boys. Friends to lovers to enemies. This story is entertaining, follows traditionally unacceptable paths; character dynamics are unconventional; there is complexity to both the story and the characters. Expect the unexpected: friendships, betrayal, jealousy, love to hate.

Absolutely devoured. I couldn't get enough. My favorite Trope is dark bully, why-choose, and this was perfect. I am salivating for the next book. Secrets are uncovered. Some truths are revealed. Masks are stripped away. The next book is gonna be crazy. I just know it! Please keep writing this Trope! This is me literally begging 🤣

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if I could rate this more than 5 stars I absolutely would!

Destroying Everleigh is a very dark college bully romance, and if you love a good bully romance then this book is top tier. Everleigh and Ashton begin dating when they are just 15, but when they are 17 something happens.

The guys all currently have me mad as hell and want to legit throat punch them. Everleigh deserves her happiness and she will walk through fire to make sure she gets it. She is a strong as hell woman, she goes to school and is a caretaker to her mom and her siblings.

This is a must read book! Not going to lie though that cliffhanger will PISS you off tremendously 😒😒, so be prepared! But it is all worth it!! I can not wait for the next book and see how everything turns out!

Wow. This book was amazing. Of course there is a cliffhanger that will make you madder then He** but it will be worth it.

This book gave me all the feels. I honestly was so mad and so sad for a good chunk of this book. There are so many emotional aspects to this book. I highly recommend checking your triggers if you have any, your mental health is important for this one due to the bully aspect of this book.

Everleigh deserves her happiness after this one it was so hard watching her get torn down over and over. And I hope she gets it. She is a care taker and college student with so much on her plate. She is so strong so I hope she will see her worth and strength coming up even though it probably feels like she isn’t at this point. She is going to walk through fire to get to HEA and I can’t wait to see it happen for her.

Now the guys I want to throat punch them all currently and I feel like that won’t change for now but I know they have potential but they are going to have a lot of work ahead of them for all the stuff they put everleigh through. I hope she puts them through he*l first!!!

For those who want spice info… it’s spicy!! It’s not missing the spice what so ever and I think it’s amazing and exactly what the book needed and was sprinkled in there perfectly!!

Can’t wait for book 2!

I had the opportunity to read Destroying Everleigh, and it did not disappoint. From the very beginning, this book was intense—so gripping that I couldn’t put it down. I devoured it in just two days, reading until my eyes begged me to stop… and even then, I couldn’t. That’s how good it was.

The story follows multiple characters who are incredibly well-developed. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster—liking them, then absolutely *hating* most of them, only to find myself rooting for some of them again. That level of depth made every twist hit harder.

One of the most frustrating—and addictive—parts of the book was Ashton. I was practically begging him to pull his head out of his ass and just *listen* to Everleigh. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and I loved every second of it. I’m really hoping their love can be rekindled somehow. No spoilers, though—you’ll just have to experience that tension for yourself.

And that cliffhanger? *Brutal.* I need a sequel because I’m not ready to let this story go. Honestly, I don’t even know how I’m supposed to pick up another book right now—this one left me wanting *so* much more.

Annika Nofal’s writing style is intense—in the best possible way—but also easy to follow. This won’t be the last book of hers I read. She knows how to drag her characters through hell, pull them back just enough to breathe, and then throw them right back into the fire. I felt every emotion right alongside them—heartbreak, anger, fear, and hope—and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

*Destroying Everleigh* is a dark romance set against a college backdrop, and it doesn’t shy away from showing the darker side of college life. It explores the limits of what a person can take—and what happens when they’re pushed right to the edge. That’s all I can say without spoiling anything, but trust me—it’s worth diving in blind.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Destroying Everleigh, destroyed me! Everleigh is such a strong young woman! She has taken a beat down at every turn.
Ashton, Jameson, and Kash are quite the villains in this story and a wanted to throttle them at every turn. The loyalty in this story is hard core, but there is deceit and revenge and betrayal at the core of this book. So many moving parts and I was here for it all!!!
I loved this story even though it gutted me, made me spitting mad and was soul crushing at times. I 100% wish I could read this story again for the first time!!

Be Prepared For An Emotional Ride

Before I get into my review. I cannot stress this enough! Please read the ⚠️ content warning ⚠️ pages. This book will push you to the limit with certain chapters.

Also, go through each chapter to write down the songs Annika Nofal picked out for each chapter. I did and then created the playlist. And I have to say that these songs fit so perfectly with this book.

This is the second book of Annika Nofal that I have read. I discovered her in the St. Valentine series. I have to say she is a master of the craft of writing dark romance. I have added all her books to my TBR bucket.

Destroying Everleigh brought out so many emotions in me. I would go from 0 to 60 with certain emotions. The top 3 repeated emotions were sad, horny, and lots of anger.

The sad parts tore my heart out. Everleigh is just trying to make her familys' life better. I might have been saying, "Give her a break!", and "Why can't you leave her alone?'" This girl goes through so much pain and there is no one there to help her with it.

The horny parts were dirty, steamy, and sometimes degrading. Her interaction with each guy (Ashton, Jameson, and Kash) was hot and sometimes I was worried for her well-being. I will admit that I had to put the book down to take a cold shower a few times.

Now, let me talk about the anger parts. I won't give away details but I will say the last three chapters had me screaming some very foul language and I might have thrown my Kindle a time or two or three.

The betrayal that happens to Everleigh doesn't come just from the guys, but also, her family had me red in the face.

I wanted to line Ashton Jameson, and Kash up and first smack them in the back of the head and then give them a hard kick in their nuts. Her sister would get slapped in the face for her stupidity and selfishness.

Now, this book does leave on a bloody cliffhanger. This is the chapter that really had my blood boiling and also left me in a tight chockhold. I hope that the second book, Everleigh brings hell to everyone that done her wrong.

Tropes: bully romance, why choose, revenge

Review:
Unless you like soap dramas where the characters are trying to make each other kill themselves, you won't like this book. An incredibly convoluted story that could have done the same thing in 200 pages.
I liked this story fine in the beginning as a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers why-choose, but the extra layers of ridiculousness just kept building. I was getting emotional whiplash so often that I stopped being affected by the plot line at all.
First she loses her best friend, then her sister hooks up with her ex, then she gets fired from her job, then her mom dies, then she learns her sister has been hooking up with her boyfriend for months, then her dead-beet dad shows up at her mom's funeral, then she has to prostitute herself to the landlord so she doesn't get kicked out; to name a few. The only thing missing was finding out she has a half-sibling and is a long-lost princess.
the plot itself could have used a final edit, so many lengthy narrative soliloquies that by the end I was skimming.
The cherry on the fucking cake is this isn't even a standalone. That's right!!! Book one, all 550 pages of it, was not long enough to fully tell the story.
I only finished it cause I had paid for the ebook.
My biggest grudge with this book however was the author's behavior of perpetuating the narrative within rape culture. The MMC's didn't even TRY to hear her out. He only believed her saying she didn't have sex with his brother willingly when he WATCHED VIDEO EVIDENCE! Not to mention, she was also a minor and he was a full ass adult.
This is not a dark romance, this is a fully bully and harassment edging into psychological torture.

Has its moments but rough

Reading this just gave me dread, impending sense of doom the entire time. Kinda like going to the dentist, so grats to the author I guess..

First off new author for me- book is well written & had np with that type of stuff (yes I did see multiple mistakes or errors but they do not impact my feelings on this book).

2nd I love me some dark romance RH. Not thrilled on bully romance it just depends how it's done..
I love me an obsessed unhinged MMC that yearns for the FMC.
I love a great grovel ! Unfortunately there
Is NOTHING, no amount of a grovel that the 3 mmcs could possibly do to make up whatever the f*ck this is.
Sir, are you effing kidding me..

I know most assume I'm talking about that ending - yeah that was freaking bad.

Not as bad as the way these3 treat any- ANY women including the FMC's lil sister.
Now I have no idea her age ( Briley) she's just listed as Everleigh's lil sister so anywhere between 16- 18??

The disgusting way all 3 took advantage of such a young girl - that has ZERO parental support, her own mom just freaking died & she's easily influenced & these supposed MMC's degraded & used her for whatever. They weren't nice to her at all & each had horrible inner monologues on this girl..

Why the f did it all need to be descriptive? Do we need an inner monologue on her teeny tiny nipples?

This crap right here wasn't bullying - the constant crap the men are doing to her outside of school is not bullying

- they also throw frat parties where rules are all females have to be naked or they leave
Guess the lil sister that shows up there naked as well?

All the females are crap except for Summer & that was destroyed because of lying..

I find it very hard to believe that an actual female wrote this book- I saw some of her comments regarding some of the stuff and about it being realistic. Nothing was realistic tho?
This day & age why are so many female authors just writing trauma porn like females don't deserve to be treated right & they have to persevere through ott things to be strong?

To everyone saying the FMC is strong & has a spine - no she does not.
At best she's an enabler.
I don't care that she spit on Ashton
I don't care that she kicked him in the balls
I don't care that she took a baseball bat to their vehicles.
I care that she doesn't go to the police.
I care that she never gets a restraining order.
I care that she keeps catching feels for each guy, smack dab in between every sh*tty thing they do to her.. she just lets them do it Everytime..
They have done NOTHING decent at all to her or to ANY female in this book.
They are so toxic ! Why? Why? Why is she falling for them?

All 3 guys Ashton are the worst MMC ever. The other 2 are the biggest p*ssies EVER, at 1 point they have worked it out in their mind that after both having had smex with her, she's a lying slut that still deserves the abuse & they are her victims..
Ashton does nothing but lie about his feelings, his intentions his plans & Kash & Jamieson just believe him & allow Ashton to talk them into treating FMC badly.
Then they are shocked when they see him kissing her or looking at her..spineless twerps

They get her fired, destroy her car, her friendship with her bestie, her sisters relationship, her rep. Knowing she's the only provider for her siblings.
They constantly go around with other girls, naked girls & hookers for parties all because baby toddler Ashton thinks he got cheated on 3 years ago by another TEENAGER.

The ending made no sense either-
Why did he 1 friend have to get in on the gang bang SA? The whole deal about her being given to Lucas cause?
Why would Ashton ever agree to bring her to him ? They really thought dropping her off in the middle of nowhere was a smart move?

None of the actions matched what the FMC supposedly did to Ashton 3 years ago.
Every guy wants her, every girl hates her & it's nothing but trauma porn for a young FMC.

These 3 douche canoes are so bad that the writer has somehow made an obscure side character more likable! The scumy kinky landlord was actually nicer to the FMC than the main 3.

Like I said none of the main 3 dudes are redeemable. All 3 are beyond misogynistic & view all women as bitchs, sl*ts & wh*res - NOT just the FMC.. zero respect for any female. All 3 hurt (emotionally) everyone in the same bubble as the FMC outside of college.
I can't even recommend it as a series because I already know the author will doormat the female (cause she clearly hasn't suffered enough just yet) she'll just end up forgiving them in the next book.
Sadly this is the trend with most "bully romances".

Okay i have lots to say here.
First of all, the boys. Ashton is a dumb puck. He keep pushing his girlfriend, a seventeen year old girlfriend to have segs with his besties? Yeah i dont care about kink if they are older, but for under age with the girl clearly said no multiple time? Yeah, ashton the ahole can go puck him self.
Jameson and Kash? Yeah they can go follow ashton. Bro before ho code? Good. But bro before dick, are better. Use your brain! These two smucks know her as besties too before the lust over power. They should have the slightest suspicion that what happened to her was foul play. But noooo this three ashole musketeer just go bullying her in the most disgusting, low of the lowest low! Nothing good i see from these three.

Everleigh, oh yeah shes falling from the highest to the lowest low.
With her family thorn apart after her mom illness, three goons bullies, a bf wearing too thick mask, no besties, no sister, yeah shes down on her knees.
I admire her for fighting with all she got, but why oh why the author make her fall on those three ahole dick again and again??
The author make her look so desperate for segs.

Talk about segs, every single one of them were explicit detail. Meaning, every single boy everleigh do segs with, were told in explicit details. Why?
I really dont need every single one of them to be wrote in that detail. And how everleigh reaction like every single one of those segs matter to her, was unsettling for me. The author make it as if the sexual relationship between everleigh and who ever, wrote in so explicit details, dont matter. It just inserting plug A to hole B and nothing more. I lost the steamy segsi feels after the first two scene.

With those amount of segs, with anyone can do it with anyone no matter who or what the nature of their relationship is, and where, honestly its too disgusting.

And talk about explicit segs scenes, i wonder if the author depiction on how free segs on campus is true in real life. Cause wild party with orgy every weekend? Yeah makes me wonder why americans bother paying huge money to go to college anyway.

Lastly... When ashton the douche canoe and his girlfriends, jameson and kash find the truth, yeah puck you to the moon and back!

I want to read the next book, only to see everleigh destroy them.
And the rape scene? Something just need to be wrote subtle. And if those rapist cowards dont get punishment by everleigh own hands, explicitly written, this explicit dark book (not romance) just lost its meaning in darkness.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Destroying Everleigh is the first book that I have read by Annika Nofal and all I can say is I don’t know how I have missed any of her previous books if this is anything to go by.

So where do I start, let me start by saying that this is a very dark bully college romance, so therefore don’t be expecting rainbows, fluffy rabbits and all those googley eyed heart faces. This book will take you down a dark hole of heartbreak, despair, ready to throw your kindle at a wall and then wanting to get your hands and submerge them into the inner depths of the book and throat punch some MC’s. Your heart will bleed for Everleigh in every possible way that will have you standing strong at her back. Okay if this sounds up your street then please, please check those triggers and let this be your warning.

What happens to young love, two people who were each, others worlds, a future in their eyes already mapped out for Ashton and Everleigh with his two best friends at his back. This group where close, a unit. Then all it took was night for everything to drastically change that leads our main characters on their current path.

Everleigh’s path is not smooth, she is a woman who is being pushed to all extremes with no reprieve. Her role now is to look after her mother and siblings while working all hours she can and supporting herself going to college. She strives for her family with her own happiness and wants taking a back seat. She is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure they have a roof over their heads.

Then her life takes another turn when Ashton, Jameson and Kash return. That love and friendship is now dead in the water and these boys have one goal in mind with Ashton being the main mastermind behind wreck, destroy and obliterate Everleigh. Lines become blared as feelings that were pushed down start to resurface. Can these three really keep their promise and ensure their goal is met, can they really destroy the one thing they crave and desire. Does there comes a time when a limit is reached and there is no return.

This book does go between current and past time frames but is done in such a way that gives us a fuller insight into the story and a greater appreciation of what is happening. These men, will destroy you in this book, there is snippets of the potential they have to turn it around but their actions speak louder than anything else. Everleigh is a woman of strength but there is only so much one person can take before they crumble. Story ends on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for Book 2

The Goal: Destroy Everleigh

The Question: Who will succeed First: Life in General, or Her Past?

Internally, Everleigh’s own fears of failing her family, combined with guilt for wanting a quiet moment to breathe, leave her conflicted daily. Adding to her troubles, are murky memories of a traumatic incident from years earlier. Preceded by the loss of her first love, and downward spiral of her own family.

Unbeknown to her, her past and present are on a collision course. A collision which will drive her to the brink of total destruction.

Story Overview:

At the start of her story, Everleigh's struggling to parent her 3 siblings, while getting a degree, playing soccer to keep her scholarship, and waiting tables to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. All while her mother battles a terminal illness.

Things become worse, when the past comes knocking in the form of her first love and his two best friends.

Sadly, her first love didn’t come back to say "Hi!". He's there seeking revenge. Like the old saying goes: "Revenge is a dish best served cold", and her 'first love' couldn't get any colder if he tried. Coincidentally, just for s*its and giggles, his best buds are there to help carry out his nefarious plans (actually, they have their own reasons too...wink**wink**).

The more they're around Everleigh, buried feelings from the past begin to resurface. This conflicts with their feelings of vengeance, resulting in a cycle of retaliation and confusion. Rinse. Repeat. One man, though, has no such compunction. He’ll go ANY distance to get his revenge. Not. Kidding. Here. He is Merciless & Cold as Ice.

Add in a stalker, a not so kosher landlord, a spurious boyfriend, and a disloyal family member, and you have some seriously dark days ahead for Everleigh. Fear not, though, she's a pretty tough cracker. Or, is she? It's pretty difficult to watch her story unfold. And, let's be real, it's just the beginning.

***This book is a great beginning to a dark, revenge filled, college aged romance where everyone is going to feel some pain: both physical and mental. Spicy +++. Watch your triggers and prepare for a roller coaster of a ride. Also, heads up. There's a pretty big cliff hanger. So be prepared to be left "hanging" until the next book.

This is brutal - go in prepared as the FMC Everleigh is stripped to the bone. It is a real page turner despite there being several parts which were incredibly uncomfortable to read. There is such a sense of dread throughout as Ashton always seems to have another move up his sleeve to torment Everleigh. Ashton, Jameson and Kash take Everleigh's life apart piece by piece and leave nothing left.

Everleigh is not squeaky clean and there is some definite crossover with Lucas, Ashton, Kash and Jameson. I was disappointed with both Briley and Amber though. Briley especially; she is eighteen and should know better and even admits she doesn't have a valid reason for what she is doing. She is low key one of the real villains here; I don't understand how Briley thought any of her actions were ok when she knew how Everleigh had stepped up when their mother was ill. Amber also knew what was happening to Everleigh and even though she knew Jamieson lied to Everleigh, she was the one who took the brunt of it. There wasn't even mention of Amber in the funeral scene. I appreciate the point was to isolate Everleigh but I couldn't get my head around everyone believing the worst in her the first chance they got.

The ending is pitch black and don't take the triggers lightly; I genuinely don't know how on earth the boys are going to come back from this as it all felt so hopeless at the end. I love a grovel but Dallas despite his very dubious start, and possibly Colt (although that ship has potentially sailed) are the only ones even close to deserving a shot with Everleigh. I really hope this is rock bottom for Everleigh and the second book is about her comeback as she needs something to start going right for her.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read.

I had the PLEASURE to Arc read this book and I am soooo greatful for it!!! Destroying Everleigh is a dark college bully romance.

This book is a very crazy, wild, long, spicy, twisted, revenge seeking, and loyal ride. The spice level is most definitely a 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.

It starts off so sweet and innocent with the way the Main Characters (female and Male) met and started their relationship. But it then sends you on the ride of your life. Ashton thought she had cheated on him and hated her for years, as well as his best friends did. He wasn’t the only one hurt by this. But three years later they all plot to hurt/ destroy her life/spirit and most definitely succeed.

They start off petty but when her mom passes and her life starts going downhill without their involvement meant they don’t let up they keep going. Until eventually they end up doing exactly what they set out to do but also hurt themselves in the process because old feeling resurfaced for the men towards her.

I felt the revenge was definitely drug out a bit and could’ve ended a lot sooner. Although when Everleigh shot back she did it hard and well! As for the twist for Eve’s boyfriend that was a bit of a shocker but kinda not. You could tell he didn’t mind if others touched her and that he was a sleaze ball but you definitely wouldn’t have pegged him to be an abuser/rapist.

The cliffhanger at the end had me yelling. I CAN’T believe the way this book ended!!!! This is an amazingly well written book, the plot is incredible, it gives you a lot of back story for all main characters and touched every aspect that is needed for this type of genre. It is most definitely one of my favorite reads this year I am going to be pestering Miss Annika until she drops book 2!!!

I was given the opportunity to read this book as an ARC ❤️

Wow. Just wow. Once again Annikas writing has left me speechless, on a roller coaster of emotions and wanting to punch the MMC's in the throat while still loving them lol

This book is another reason why Annika has literally become my favorite author now 🖤 her writing is truly amazing and the way she makes these characters and develops them and gives them their own personality is just astounding to me. I have been in a reading slump not being able to finish any books I start but this book? I finished within 24 hours 🖤👏

I'm still trying to process my emotions on this book because holy shit. This is dark and twisted and honestly to me so much more emotional than Academy of Rejects. Seriously don't take the trigger warnings lightly because holy moly. I've never wanted to reach into a book and strangle or punch the MMC's in the face more than this one. I hate them but I still love them. And the cliffhanger??? Ma'am I will be holding my breath for book 2 because I know it's going to be worth the wait!! 👏🖤 I feel so heart broken with everything Everleigh has endured and been put through mentally, emotionally and physically in this book and trust me she deals with A LOT 😭💔 Don't want to give any spoilers but....ASH BETTER STSRT KISSING HER ASS IN BOOK 2 AND SHE BETTER MAKE ALL 3 WORK FOR IT!!!👏👏🤣

Annika, amazing job once again 🖤 keep up the amazing work because I will ALWAYS read anything you put out hands down. You may doubt yourself at times but MA'AM this book right here? Shows just how amazing and talented of an author and writer you truly are and I hope you get all the resignation you deserve 🖤 this book gets a 100 out of 10 from me!🖤

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - For someone who doesn’t usually like bully romances, I was pleasantly surprised. Took some of my least fav tropes and wrote them into gold.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - Exhibitionism at its finest. The sex scenes are plentiful…obviously it’s RH🤭

“One day at a time.”
If you want a sweet second chance love story, this ain’t it. Everleigh is tormented by the three most important boys from her past. And that’s on top of her whole life falling apart piece by piece. The author puts the FMC throw the RINGERRRR. I mean I suppose that’s the point, but my stomach was in knots over the things she gets put through! Maybe I’m sensitive but d@mn. 😭

The complexities of each character and the time hops to understand each POV are driving forces to my enjoyment. The way this was structured was unique. Every-time it switched I was upset but then wanted even more of the new POV. Seeing the inner workings of the men is very interesting with the tones of each character being so fleshed out! You have no question who is narrating at the time.

My one irritation with this book is the “melting” all the supporting female characters do. The second their lips are touched (either set) they’re doing whatever those men want. It doesn’t matter if they’re close to Everleigh and it would hurt them. It doesn’t matter that a second ago, one of them was standing up for Everleigh. It all goes out the window to get laid. The stereotype of college women being manipulated so easily is frustrating. Personally it’s easy to overlook, but it’s worth mentioning.

Overall, it’s worth the read. I’ve already recommended it to two women in my book club. It’s my first book by Annika Nofal but is most certainly not my last! I love the way she writes.

4.5/5 stars

This book was really great in a dark and tragic type of way. I felt for Everleigh every step of the way. The trauma and betrayal that she continues to face throughout the book is horrible. I read this book in a day because I was unable to put it down. I kept on hoping Everleigh had a break but unfortunately it was one thing after the other. I think that shows some realism that sometimes, that just doesn't happen.

I will admit, there were times Everleigh made me frustrated with some decisions she made. She came off hypocritical at times with her current relationship. Her best friend was truly a great support for her and Everleigh's decision to not be honest had me wanting to shake her. Although, I can understand why she chose not to, it was still very frustrating to see, especially since that was basically her only true support.

I am so disappointed that I have to wait for the next book. I want to see what happens next! I honestly don't know if and how these boys will be able to regain Everleigh's trust and honestly I don't think they should nor deserve it. I'm curious to see how Everleigh will be able to overcome what happened to her at the end of the book or even if she will be able to at all. She is such a strong FMC by being able to get through everything that was already brought on to her, but I fear this might be the breaking point, and I wouldn't blame her. I can't wait to read the next book and hope everyone who did Everleigh wrong gets what's coming to them.

I would like to advise everyone to read the TW as it is intense.

Holy crap that ending was intense!!!
Ahhh this is going to be a series right? Cuz that was definitely one hell of a cliffhanger!!
Jeez Everleigh didn’t deserve anything that happened to her and it made me so mad that Ashton didn’t apparently know her enough or love her enough to realize what was actually happening right in front of him. That’s an immature young boy for you though. Then even when Jamie and Kash knew there had to be more to the story and both were in love with her too they still believed Ashton’s every delusional word and went along with all the revenge and bullying. None of them deserve her to be honest, they are going to have to do a lot of groveling if they ever have a chance to get her back after what THEY let happen to her!! That kind of trauma sticks with you for life, when she wakes up in the hospital she’s not going to be the same girl. Well I hope she puts them through hell before even letting them touch her again! Even her sister and her one best friend were no good. They should have apologized and made up knowing that she needed them after losing her parents and going through all the horrible things that kept hitting her full force. Jeez Lucas ended up being one sick POS! Him and his low life frat friends. The boys better either get them put in prison or just straight up unalive them. Set them up and put them through every traumatic emotion that they put Everleigh through when they took her to that forest and then end them. Those kind of people don’t deserve the air they breathe. They will just grow up to be women abusing grapists. Egh despicable kids in men’s bodies make me sick. This was a great story but very tragic and hard to read at some points but that’s what makes a good author in my opinion. To write something so real and traumatic that could happen to anyone in real life to the point it has your readers wincing and afraid of what they are about to read next knowing it’s gonna be bad. I’m a SA survivor myself and that is what made me cringe during some chapters but I know Everleigh will come out on the other side a stronger women. It’s just too bad those experiences will harden her heart and take away any innocence that was left in her. She will have a long road of recovery ahead of her and those boys better be there to HELP her every step of the way. I can’t wait to read how they all handle what is ahead of them in the next book.

First I’d like to start off by saying please read all the posted triggers for this delicious and nonstop addictive book that is only the first book to this series. You can find those on her Facebook Page or on her Website.
Annika oh my god is all i can say after 27 hours straight reading this story. Because I couldn’t stop i kept saying one more chapter well now I’m done and sitting here going ok I’m gonna start reading it again.
Now the characters were very well created and will take you on a cliff jumping time. EVERLEIGH and ASTON relationship is very rocky at points and a lot is due to a stubborn man who didn’t want to listen to a woman… I yelled many times at my computer because their relationship was great until it wasn’t.
Annika you did dragged me in and then my world imploded and you got me hooked me with Sinful Desires in September and now your writing is like a drug to me, and i have found out that I have a massive addiction.
Then before you jump into this great book I do have to warn you, the cliffhanger will kill you like has to everyone else that has read it. So I am warning you now please prepare for it ass this gigantic book is only the first read to Destroying Everleigh’s long journey to completion, and all I know is that I’m preparing for more earth shattering cliffhangers. But while you wait on book 2 pick up Annika’s other books coming in 2025, to enjoy another one of these amazing reads of hers….

First off this book was written so well, had a great plot and had you feeling all the emotions. It’s a Dark romance college bully. That follows the life of Everleigh, Ashton, Jameson and Kash. Plus all the other side characters. These characters were well written, and very frustrating at the same time.

I felt for Everleigh, she went through a lot, true love, heartbreak and bullying. But she never let that bring her down, until the three boys she thought she would never see came back to school. I just wanted to take her in and hug her.

Ash, oh ash I loved you then I didn’t. I wanted to yell at you to be quiet and just listen. To stop everything because you were taking it too far. How far was he willing to go to get revenge for his heartbreak

Jameson and kash, I loved them but I was so mad they went along with Ash. Especially once Everleigh told Jameson the truth. But they didn’t believe her. They allowed things to go too far.

I cheered, yelled, bawled like a baby, and got hot and bothered. But the ending of this book I broke down crying. The cliffhanger made it worse, I needed to know if things went too far or if they arrived at the right time.

I read this book until 1:30 am and my eyes were burning. Just to wake up and finish the read. That’s when you know the book is well written.

Thank you Annika for letting me be part of your reading team. I truly loved this book

Highlights:
🖤Why Choose
🖤New Adults
🖤Bullying
🖤Second Chances
🖤College Soccer Athletes

Thoughts:
They were all such lovable and compellingly deep characters and the dialogue in the book was well done. It was obvious that there was such love between Everleigh and the boys, but the huge “Betrayal Incident” kept them apart. I kept bashing my head that they couldn’t see beyond their feelings of betrayal and just listen to Everleigh’s account of the incident. It was so heartbreaking the way they systematically went about bullying her and burning her life down until it was in ruin. Annika did an amazing job of weaving the past and present together and added in a lot of sensuality and spice. And you really feel for all characters with what they were going through, I cried here and there, then was bawling at the end. The book ends on a devastating cliffy, so here’s hoping we don’t have to wait a full year until Book 2 in the trilogy is out.

🛑Please read all the author warnings as it is a VERY Dark book and themes and events depicted in this book could be triggering. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I don't know where to start ... this book had me all kinds of messed up - from beginning to end.

For this book to have started off so sweet, certainly turned unhinged, dark and downright scary somewhere down the line. I do have to say that Everleigh was a strong FMC. Even though her life was spiraling and she kept getting bullied to no end, she always found strength to keep her head held high and continue on. But the guys were just relentless in making her life a living hell.

Ash, Kash and Jameson turned out to be the biggest jerks ever -- they went from being the sweetest, loving and best of friends to Everleigh to hating her to no end. I mean, I think they took things a little too far but when you hate a person for something you are unsure of to begin with is a bit much. But Ash was not having it and was hell bent in destroying Everleigh any way he could and boy did he!

I have read books that held my attention from beginning to end, but this one had me completely obsessed. I love my books dark, depraved and unhinged and this book certainly won the crown for it. This is the first book I read from Annika Nofal and I can guarantee you that it won't be the last. I think with this book, she has become my favorite indi author. I don't know how I'm going to move forward without knowing if anything will happen next!

This is the first book I read by this author. It was really good. I can’t wait to read more from her. This ended on a cliffhanger. Everleigh met Ashton sophomore year in high school. They talked a lot and got to know each other. She was at a haunted house in October and Ashton came up to her and asked her out and she said yes. They started kissing when her mom found her and she was mad. She took her home and she told her husband what happened but he was fine with it. Her mom came up and talked to her about it. They were together 2 years later and her dad had just left because her mom was diagnosed with a disease and he couldn’t deal with it so everleigh took care of her 3 siblings. She went to Ashton’s house to talk to him she told him she was going over there and when he got there what he saw made him angry. He called her names and he left after that. He thought she cheated on him but it was discovered later on what really happened. She was in college when Ashton , Jameson and Kash came back to town with the intent to make her pay. They succeeded but Jameson and Kash wanted to stop but Ashton reminded them what happened. Everything that they put everleigh through they regretted at the end. I hope there is a continuation of their story and I hope she gets even with everything she went through.
