Volume 2: The Only One at Dawn It was going against all the morals I had in my past life… Before, I would’ve never had thoughts like this; it was inhumane. To hate someone was a foreign concept–yet it ran so deep that I was allowing it to swallow me whole.
Given the opportunity to live a new life, Lotus is spiraling as he tries to find his way back to his family. Old emotions he thought were buried are now surfacing, making him vulnerable to the darker aspects of nature. Without his family to keep him in check, he finds himself falling back into a world he never wanted to revisit. Death and loss were not foreign concepts to him, but still… how is one supposed to handle grief if they've never cared for someone before? As he grapples with this overwhelming sorrow, it forces him to question his values and the person he wants to become in this new existence.
