It's been said that you can only be pushed so far until you break, and it's a miracle that I haven't snapped in half yet.
When it's not vampires trying to rally the rest of the supernatural world to rage war against humans, it's angels and demons engaging in a battle Royale. Though this time, not everyone on my father's side wants to partake, and the divide leaves the fate of the world dangling in my hands. It's a responsibility I don't want to have, but I'll be damned before I let hell reign on earth, putting everyone I care about in danger.
The hard truth is I can't do this on my own, and accepting help from a powerful ally means agreeing to something I don't want to do. But what I want isn't what the world needs, and if we want any chance of stoping this pending apocalypse, I'm going to have to make a love or power.
KING OF NIGHT is book 10 in the Thorne Hill Series and is to be enjoyed in reading order.
Emily Goodwin is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of over a dozen of romantic titles. Emily writes the kind of books she likes to read, and is a sucker for a swoon-worthy bad boy and happily ever afters.
She lives in the midwest with her husband and two daughters. When she's not writing, you can find her riding her horses, hiking, reading, or drinking wine with friends.
Emily is represented by Julie Gwinn of the Seymour Agency.
3 stars not because the story is crappy. The story is actually quite nice. What irked me off completely was that the story of King of Night - Book 10 - is only 65% of the book and then it abruptly ends. leaving the other 35% of the book for another "add in" story from Lucas' point of view. Not cool on the part of the author! Honestly, I would rather the authors write a good book - does not necessary cover completely 100% of the book but hell, not 65% only - instead of RUSHING to publish the book to satisfy and garner income!
Other than this, the other part that completely irks and irritated me like crazy is that there are so many typos and the "Click here to insert text" parts can be found throughout the entire story! From these 2 points, I am definitely concluding that the Author did a half baked job and rushed through this book without much thought and care about the story at all. It's already showing that the author only cares about the numbers, rating and income instead of writing a good book.
All right y’all so we’re finished…. thinking I’m at the finish line I got stopped in my tracks at the very end!! That is literally the only reason why I put a four star honestly.
Other than that, I felt like this book was kind of rushed. The whole book felt like three chapters. From her usual writing style. not sure what happened but overall see you guys in the next one!! 💋💋
Ok so all in all the book was really good.. Can't fault it for the weird "Clock here to enter text" issue when it was pushed through for e-readers.. ANYWAYS.. LOTS happened in the first half of this book and I'm interested to see what Book 11 has in store for us..
*Callie makes a deal with Osiris to join forces, through marriage, so she can defeat Paimon and so he can prove he is worthy to his wife Isis..
*Eamon joins forces with the group when he stays to fight off zombies 🧟 from the battle with the Horseman.. We also realize there is more to the story of Eamon and Lucas's friendship
* Easton and Callie talk out their past relationship after what happened with them getting stuck in the alternate dream world where they are a couple
*Juliet is taken and Callie lets lose with the help of her dad and Lucifer
* Another demon is trying to "help" Callie -Drea- kill Paimon by getting her back in hell but says he will be weaker if he isn't in hell
*Uriel finds them after Callie gets Juliet back bc she used a lot of her angel powers and she traps him in the underworld but he follows them to Hell and Callie convinces him of her plan and he joins her but then tries to turn against her after she kills Paimon #sheisbada$$
*Lucas and Callie are trying to recover from that battle and waiting to see how Osiris is gonna prove to them that he wasn't trying to trick Callie into taking over Hell and we end that part of the book with Callie's mom being at her door-
This is also at 66% so kinda sad the book was more of a novella BUT we do get the rest of the book in Lucas POV of meeting Callie so that was a YES for me lol
All in All like I said I enjoyed this book and would love more in Lucas's POV but ready to see where we go in the next book - coming out in 2025

I’m a fan of the series, it’s a fun cozy yet steamy, comfort paranormal romance.
The story, mythology/paranormal aspects, found family and romance usually overpower the occasional typo, but in this case i was sad to see the book riddled with instances of “Click here to enter text.” Like, smack in the middle of sentences throughout the book (36+ times), along with many other typos and errors.
Not sure if this exists in all copies, mine is from Apple Books.
If that kind of thing really bothers you and takes you out of the story, maybe don’t read this until (hopefully) a new version is published with edits.
Otherwise, the book is a bit of a let down because it ends about 67% of the way through and the rest is a preview of another book.
Once again I am APPALLED at the mistakes made in this books. So many typos, grammatical errors, click to enter text, POV changes, it was awful. The only reason this got 3 stars from me was that I did enjoy the POV from Lucas. Those few chapters made the book worthwhile. This book felt extremely rushed. No real sex or action. They destroy Paimon in a matter of minutes when he’s supposed to be the BBE? No. I continue to read this series because the plot was solid, but now? I’m not so sure. For someone who has written so many books, you’d think she would INVEST in an editor, or at least have someone proofread the work before publishing it. I would be embarrassed and ASHAMED releasing a book with so many issues.

I gave this a 5 star because all the stories were phenomenal. Yes so many editing issues sucked ass in this book but it still was an excellent read and ending. Now to wait for 2025 and the 11th book. That’s going to take forever. I love all the characters and storylines so freaking much. To end this the way they did was excellent. I can’t wait!! Callie, Lucas and Juliet need to live a long happy life together. Even though I read all of this series I’m reading it over again at the end of this book. Doesn’t bother me at all!! It’s just as good as reading it the first time! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Do Not Buy This Book! It was sent out to buy without editing so it was impossible to read!
Hugely disappointed! I wasted my money on this book. It ends at 67% and is unreadable and clearly unedited. I love Ms Goodwin’s books but this was terrible! I plan to request a refund. So disappointing and many other reviews say the same so why is this still available to purchase here? This book is an unedited mess
The editing is shocking. I've enjoyed the series up until this book. As has been said, this book has almost double the amount of sex in that other books have had. And has also been said, I'm no prude. I read stories like this because of the raw nature of it, but this is well Over The Top. The other, and worst problem is, all the "clicktoinserttext" everywhere. I've only got 30% into it and abandoned it. All in all, it's put me off the series.
