A teen descendant of a Japanese dragon god must find out the truth of what happened to her missing sister while trying not to fall for a handsome rogue agent in acclaimed author Kylie Lee Baker's magical new YA romance, I'll Find You Where the Timeline Ends.
“Here's one thing I know for I’ll never see you again. And if I never see you again, then in fifty years, the world will end.” -Yejun
Yang Mina, descended from a Japanese dragon god, was born with the power to travel through time, and has spent her life training to take her place in the Descendants, a secret organization whose purpose is to protect the timeline. But since moving to Seoul, everything is falling apart. Mina has discovered that the Descendants are corrupt, that her sister has been erased from existence, and that she can’t pass Calculus, which puts her mission to kiss the cutest boy in her year at risk.
With her very existence on the line, Mina decides to tread a dangerous team up with a handsome rogue agent named Yejun, who has a plan to free the Descendants from the corrupt influence, and (hopefully) restore Mina’s sister. Between class and their time travel dates, Mina can’t stop herself from falling for the mysterious Yejun. Yet, as Mina grows closer to Yejun, she also grows closer to discovering the truth, which may be the very thing that breaks her…

romance: 3/10 (there was like an almost kiss?)
cursing: 4/10 (apparently f-ck is used twice? At least that’s what my kindle search says. As well as semi-frequent minor curse words)
violence: 5/10 (children get yeeted off an amusement park ride in one of the first scenes…so that’s fun. Also it was weirdly descriptive, like the rest of the writing was so dry and then suddenly you hear the wet thuds of bodies hitting the concrete 🤨🤨🤨)
tw: blood, death

⤷Ray My wife of one year now, thank you for buddy reading this crap with me. I hope our next read is better 😔💔
I’m going to be brutally honest. This really, truly sucked.
I wanted to love this so bad. But it just didn’t hit.
There were so many things that fell flat for me. The world building was worse than when redheads wear orange. The prose was like wet socks. The dialogue was more dull than soggy toast I’m sorry to say.
I’m one of those dorks who love time travel romance. I can even handle when the time travel doesn’t make the most sense, but this made less sense to me than why people like Powerless.
Redeemable qualities?
none
I should be more optimistic, but I seriously can’t think of anything I liked abt this book besides the FMC’s name, Mina.
I don’t typically hate on books, and I especially don’t hate on authors. SO I’m definitely not hating on her.
But maybe a little advice: Please, the info dumping was too much. Maybe next time make consistency your friend? Work on characters who aren’t so self serving and actually likeable?
From the first page I knew I wasn’t going to enjoy this book. The writing is not something I enjoyed reading, and worse, throwing us into the Strait of Magellan without a life vest??? Forget the deep end of the pool.
–PLOT–
Girl, I wish I could tell you.
–CHARACTERS–
Mina ⤷ why is she literally the worst FMC I’ve ever read besides Autumn Davis from If He Had Been With Me?
Everyone Else ⤷ No you don’t understand, no one else matters besides Mina, she’s the only one worthy of a true story here.
–CONCLUSION–
No.

Audio Narration: 5/5 No notes. Seriously. Perfect narrator choice for this book! She did a fabulous job. Pacing was perfectly executed for the narrative, sped up in the right places, slowed down when the scene called for it! SO GOOD. Pausing, inflection, voice variation were all spectacular! BIG FAN!
preread:I needddddd this book in my life. Kylie Lee Baker is QUEEN. Must read everything she writes!
firstly, thank you to the publisher for an arc and and alc!
i’ve come a long way on my reading journey with kylie lee baker — i originally dnf’d her first YA duology, but after reading both her YA and adult works, i think i’ll revisit her debut!
i’ll find you where the timeline ends is a fun and quirky YA novel that still manages to tackle serious moral questions in a world that has individuals of all ages policing different periods in time to ensure nefarious characters do not mess with the “original” timeline.
i appreciated that baker set a goal for her fmc, and emphasized the fact that even though she did everything she could to achieve it, sometimes there’s no happy ending, or at least not the version you are expecting.
as for the audio, the narrator did a great job!
overall, i’m excited to read baker’s next adult horror novel!
thank you so much for this arc netgallery! im so grateful to be able to read this! i promise all of my opinions are true and my own! (also sorry for taking so long to write this review!)

ೃ⁀➷ 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: did not expect to be crying over dragon descendants on mothers day but here we are! omg the writing was sooooo good, the characters were well written, the storyline was very interesting (it gave loki vibes yk? that series on disney+? this is a huge compliment bc i went through a loki phase 2 years ago and it was scary), and i looooved the chemistry omg! he loves her so freaking much omg guys if u knew all the quotes in this book i think all of you would collectively die. he’s so freaking romantic omg. i believe that he could be a popular book bc that yall obsess over trust just read it!
ೃ⁀➷ 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥: this should definitely be added to your tbr’s when it comes out!! it’s sooooo goooooood!
4.5 ★— You’d think that having dragon blood and the power to travel through time — not to mention working for an ancient dragon organization tasked with maintaining the fabric of time — would excuse someone from worrying about mundane things like passing calculus. But that’s not the case for Young Mina, who’s desperate to prove herself and uncover the truth behind her missing sister.
This story was such a delight! As someone who’s always loved time travel (thank you, Doctor Who obsession as a kid), this book blended that fascination with a cute YA romance and a compelling mystery surrounding the mechanics of time and Mina’s search for her sister.
It plays with familiar time travel tropes, like the butterfly effect, time paradoxes, and the delicate balance of interfering in already past moments, while grounding everything in Mina’s everyday reality as a Korean high school student.
Beyond all that sci-fi fun, there’s also a focus on some deeper themes: Mina’s alienation due to her half-Japanese heritage, the constant relocations imposed by the agency that have made her feel like even more of an outsider than her abilities already do, and the lingering sense of inadequacy she feels as a time travel agent still finding her footing. Baker does an excellent job of combining the slice-of-life, everyday teenage struggles with the supernatural world of dragons and time travel. The juxtaposition of both worlds, and Mina’s continued effort to reconcile them, was engaging to read and made me sympathize deeply with her.
Her romance, complicated by the emergence of a rogue agent with blonde hair who interferes with her mission goal of getting closer to one of her classmates, plays a significant role in the story, making for some funny moments in between the drama and emotional tension, giving you all the cuteness and humor you’d expect from a good YA romance.
By the end, the book really softened me up, delivering several poignant messages that made me appreciate the story even more. It captured one of the ideas I love most about time travel stories: that some things can’t and shouldn’t be changed, and that’s okay, because you can still move forward and find happiness.
🎧 Audiobook Note 🎙️ Narration Style: Solo What can I say? This was an awesome audiobook, and the female narrator did an excellent job embodying the characters, effortlessly distinguishing them through her voice.

🐉꒱ plot ! tbh i can’t really think of one 😗 ig girl is descended from dragons and somehow they can time-travel and there’s a modern agency for that, but maybe the agency isn’t working for good? and all agents are naive and don’t realize that? idrk, i mean the only part that i read was just rinse and repeat of her going to the agency, mission, school over and over again in a never ending cycle. so much for trying to have a hook in the first chapter, i mean who needs one 😀
🐉꒱ worldbuilding ! where is it, you ask? you’re not gonna find it. we’re immediately thrown into her time-traveling somehow, and on top of that she meets herself in the regular timeline? and the explanation isn’t nothing but a hastily typed info-dump chapters after it happens which makes it so confusing but you have to deal with it. but hey, she’s a debut author so gotta cut her some slack, but then i found out she’s written multiple series 💀💀
🐉꒱ character study ! we really only see the fmc mina (who is completely bland and isn’t complex in absolutely no way) and her mentor and like if i’m not even connected to the characters like there’s really no point in continuing this.
one more thing: tysm to ari and lon for buddy reading with me ! hope our next read is better mls 💌 i attached ari’s review but lon hasn’t made one yet !

Sometimes you just need a time-jumping, Studio Ghibli vibes standalone urban fantasy romance.
If anyone has watched Miraculous Ladybug, Mina and Yehhh is basically Ladybug and Chat Noir.
Mina is descended from a Japanese dragon god who can time travel. However, it’s not so fun. After discovering her sister has been erased from existence by the corrupt organisation she is enrolled, Mina teams up with a rogue agent, Yejun the cheesecake procurer, to uncover the truth and restore her sister.
Mina is of mixed descent and struggles with her identity. Whilst the clashing of culture isn’t at the forefront, her idea of belonging is brought up.
Mina can be selfish, but she is also filled with compassion and uncertainty. I did think she lacked common sense towards the end when the twists and reveals are obvious and she refuses to see it.
You have just got to trust the fantasy element because nothing is truly explained and I couldn’t visualise any of the magical elements.
This didn’t standout, but I did enjoy my time reading it. I am amazed by Kylie Lee Barker’s writing range.
If this sounds like something you would like, I would recommend it! Someone take me to Japan so I can try the cheesecake please.
Also, the casual BTS drop that a fan changed the timeline to marry one of the members. LOL.
4⭐️ My opinion: cute and funny love story with time travel! The time travel parts made my mind twist itself into a knot, but it was really cool to see how everything played out, I especially loved the writing about the butterfly effect. Unlike in most books I’ve read, I was really not expecting the plot twists. The story started out a little slow but sped up really quickly (I was physically unable to put it down it the last two-thirds). There were a lot of pop culture references (and it was mentioned that the year was 2025), I did enjoy hearing about Korean and Japanese brands though. Something I didn’t like was how long the chapters were, it took me 20-30 minutes to read each one!

I fear I will not recover after this. This was beautiful wtf
If she doesn’t forgive you in this timeline, try again. Fall for her in a thousand lives if you have to. Don’t ever give up until you get it right.
Everlasting love across timelines. "I'll find you in any timelines" love is the love I want, it's not too much to ask for??
He was a thousand quiet summer mornings and warm citron tea, the scent of white silk drying on a line beneath the afternoon sun, soft grass and forbidden hope.
WHO WOULDN’T WANT TO READ THIS??
While I no longer had a dragon’s scales or claws or fire, no one could take away my teeth.
This timelines trope is literally devastating, crying multiple times, devastating.
Mina is a chameleon. She blends where she goes; but that’s her job. She goes back in time to fix the timeline when things shift in the wrong direction, when they shift from the intended timeline.
ABSOLUTELY nothing could go wrong with people having control over time, right?
Things are going okay for her on her current assignment until a Past Mina, an Echo, comes up and dumps milk on her shoes, throws confetti in her face, and everything goes to shit. Kim Yejun falls into Mina’s life to help her track down her sister that the timeline powers-that-be erased from existence. Que cuteness and banter between Mina and Yejun, unbearable sadness surrounding her sister, a strict but lovable mentor/trainer, and absent parents that made me want to scream.
Dragons were always supposed to look at ease while undercover— something that Yejun had clearly mastered, while Hyebin said I always looked like an ostrich ready to jam its head into the sand.
This book was also hilarious. Funny books are honestly underrated. I need that comedic relief.
“You’re lucky that my curiosity is stronger than my desire for chaos,” he said. “I could have made that very awkward.” “And I could have punched you in the face, but it’s a good thing we’re both feeling merciful today,” I said.
There was a little lack of world-building and some plot holes, but I was too invested in Mina and Yejun to care lmao.
I was here for the vibes, not the brains.
All I know is that no matter how many times this plays out, I’ll choose you every time.

Thank you so much to Colored Pages Book Tours, Fierce Reads, and the author for this eARC and finished copy! Sorry this review was basically quotes, but you didn't really need my words since Kylie's words should be enough to convince you to read this 😩
One wrong word could destroy everything— that was how it always was in the beginning. Saplings were so easy to kill.
Personally, I enjoyed the writing style! It was a nice palate cleanser before I dive into more lore-heavy fantasy, so I just had fun with it. Don't go into this expecting too much plot, but consider picking this up if you want to read a time travel story that's light and kind of silly. Some lines were a little ridiculous, but most of it worked for me, so I wasn't really complaining. I also liked the way many moments came full circle, as well as how trivial events could cause something much more major (butterfly effect!)
Mina was alright, even if she could be unlikable (enjoyed her inner monologue though!), and I liked Yejun's puppy dog energy. The romance definitely felt a bit rushed + forced, as the length of the book didn't really allow for too much development, but it was fine.
Overall, this book was a quick read that kept me entertained. This isn't the kind of book I would be too nitpicky on, so I decided on 4 stars. I'm very interested in reading Kylie Lee Baker's adult horror novel as I really like the premise and love seeing how diverse the genres of her books are!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Many thanks to Hodder Children's Books for providing me with an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Kylie Lee Baker is an author I've wanted to try for a while so I was really glad to have received this work. That being said, I was also slightly nervous; the cover was gorgeous and the plot sounded like my cup of tea. My worry was that a 300 page standalone didn't sound like something that could carry a time travel plot well. I stand corrected; this was an incredibly fun read.
Mina is of Japanese and American descent but lives in South Korea. She comes from a line of time traveling dragons and is currently in training to become a time travel agent in the Seoul branch - just like her parents. But what everyone else doesn't know is that Mina has an inkling that she must have had a sister at some point. Whilst playing the obedient trainee, she hopes to find clues as to what happened to her sister who no one else seems to remember.
Mina is a prickly character and it might not endear her to all, but personally I really liked her. Her anger and mood were more often than not justified. She also strikes me as a lonely character. Not only is she a time traveler but also a descendant of dragons - that means she isn't quite human and doesn't fit in with regular humans. There's a barrier between her and her parents due to them not remembering her sister and for that same reason she also keeps her distance to fellow time travellers. The time travel office is strict and harsh, not following the rules can lead to severe punishments and looking for her sister isn't exactly what they'd want. Another element I enjoyed was Mina being biracial - that's always something I like reading about and, while it is not hugely relevant to the plot, it added some nice layers and added to Mina's isolation as she stood out in Seoul.
I thought the time travel aspect was really well done - so much forshadowing from start to finish and everything wraps up well. I also really liked the echoes - versions of the travellers themselves from different timelines. It's a common trope to encounter ones own self when time travelling, but I thought these echoes were rather unique and a neat concept.
I also thought the romance was really nice and feel baffled why some call this insta love. While it isn't a slow burn, I at no time felt that it was insta love. There's very much a grump-sunshine dynamic going on but I think Mina and her love interest balanced each other really well; they had their hurdles too but all in all it was a very sweet romance which mainly had high stakes due to the wider plot which had fairly high stakes.
I'll Find You Where the Timeline Ends was an anticipated book that exceeded my expectations; it is fairly short but delivers a well crafted and compelling story.
The time travel rules is that everything resets on the hour. Sure. Our protagonist knows this. She is a seasoned time traveler. Except, at the beginning of the book, sure conveniently completely forgets this fact, just so she can be corrected then clumsily tell it to the audience.
In a time travel novel, I'm very willing to overlook minor plot holes and paradoxes. But this book's favorite kind of plot hole is making the protagonist unbelievably forgetful and disbelieving for the convenience of the exposition.
Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own
This book surprised me in the such a great way. It went places I couldn’t have predicted, all whilst never losing my attention. It was fast paced, cinematic, addictive, heartwarming and just so much fun. I had the best time reading this!
I like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me a chance at a book that is made for k-drama fans.
Well.
I expected more. Yes, the kdrama vibes are there for sure. You got the teen going to school, crushing on her assignment, falling in love with a rogue time hopper, and going through some family issues.
The story itself was fun. I loved the time travel aspect and the 'echoes' that would appear which made me excited to get to the point in the story that their point made sense to when I first see the 'echoes'. I like that it all flowed well - a lot of people use the Back to the Future aspect where you can't see your future self or it can open up a paradox. The author uses her own time travel logic while still making sense.
The reason I rate it down two stars is ... nothing really happens. The villains aren't really 'there', and the agency and the time travelers themselves seem more like means to purpose the story than actual plot elements. The only other person besides the boss we really come in contact with is a female who sits behind the desk. What is this agency? Where did they come from? Why did they form? We never really get those answers, which makes me feel like the books' focus is this somewhat tightfisted romance (that attempts for me to believe they don't like one another).
This book is more or less a 2 star read but I gave it three for the author doing something else with her time travel logic.
OMG. Firstly, thank you to NetGalley for an arc copy because without them I don’t know if I would have found this book and it truly was such a good time! I loved everything about this!
Reading this book felt like watching a movie. The plot was so interesting and unique. Time travel and the butterfly effect?? Done absolutely amazingly. I’ll admit sometimes I was little confused but not in a bad way- just in that everything comes full circle so I think you’re supposed to be a little confused for a bit!
The romance had me giggling- so adorable.
The plot twists?! WOW.
I am so glad I found this book because it’s not my typical genre but I had an amazing time reading this, truly! Every time I had to put the book down, I found myself thinking about it and needing to know what was going to happen!
This was an absolutely adorable read! I’ll Find You Where the Timeline Ends reminded me of a lighthearted, cute, YA version of the Loki TV show. Mina, our main character, is on an assignment undercover at a high school while also working side missions and trying to pass calculus. She starts questioning the Descendants' mission to “protect the timeline” and meets Yejun, a rogue Descendant agent, and our adventure begins!
Mina and Yejun are extremely likable main characters and the way their friendship/relationship develops was adorable to watch unfold. The time travel aspect was not confusing (as many time travel stories can be) and the whole story came together nicely in the end.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for providing this eARC.
Big Thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the Publisher for the advanced copy! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
'I'll Find You Where the Timeline Ends' is a YA fantasy by Kylie Lee Baker.
The story is about a girl who is a dragon descendant and works as a time travel agent. Thus, the plot is full of mystery and action, though there is a sweet romance as well. The latter was nicely paced, didn't steal the thunder of the mystery and adventure storyline. The time travel was well handled as well, and I enjoyed the scenarios and how the timeline could change by only altering a small detail that could impact a chain of events.
Moreover, the characters were interesting and endearing. Mina is goal-oriented, she is sassy, and sarcastic, but also adorable and sweet. I loved how dedicated she was to her sister and her family, and how honest she was about what she wanted.
However, if I wanted to be really nitpicking, I would have to note that there were some small plot holes that I could spot in retrospect. But they didn't destroy the plot and they were minor.
The narrator, finally, and the production of the audiobook were both fantastic and made the book shine.
i received a digital review copy from the publisher via netgalley. i am leaving this review voluntarily.
descended from a japanese dragon god, yang mina was born with the power to travel through time. as neat as that sounds, she’s burdened with this power as the descendants, the secret organization she’s training to be a part of, send her on missions she doesn’t always agree with. but she’ll stop at nothing to learn the truth about her sister, who was erased from the timeline. she realizes she might have the opportunity she needs when she meets a handsome rogue agent, who might be able to help her. soon, she must decide what she’s willing to risk to uncover the truth.
i have a confession: i had almost given up on time travel books when i started this. i have read a few more this year, and they were just okay. kylie lee baker has written some of my favorite books, though, so i knew i had to give this a try. i am so glad i did, because this renewed my hope in time travel books. everything so expertly fell into place, leaving my jaw on the floor at several moments throughout the book. in conclusion, i never should have doubted kylie lee baker. i highly recommend this book, and will be eagerly awaiting whatever’s next from the author.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group | Feiwel & Friends for the eARC!
Gahhhh this was so good! I love a lil time travel story, and this was perfect and so unique.
The beginning takes some time to get used to, but once the time travel loops start, buckle up!
Mina is trying to solve the mystery of a deleted memory (person) with only a faint glimmer of a lead. Enter Yejun, mysterious rouge time traveler. He says he can help Mina find her long lost sister and save the world! What could go wrong?
High emotions (high school is rough!) and even higher stakes, make this a perfect YA story of growth and adventure. Will Mina and Yejun reset the past to save the future? Can they work together and trust one another? Only time will tell ;)
Damn. This has cozy studio ghibli vibes, the flair of a kdrama and that sinister something isn’t right feeling that the TVA in Loki gave. There’s a mystery and suspense weaved into a cute slow burn romance. I’m actually astounded how well thought out this story was, the beginning starts out a little slower setting the ground work but all the twists and turns had me obsessing over what would happen next. Thoroughly enjoyable watching all the strings get tied together in a neat little bow at the end. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for this arc
I won't lie, I was a little shocked that Kylie Lee Baker was coming out with another YA novel but instead of alchemy and overthrowing evil corrupt queens, we were getting a k-drama esque story with romance, timelines, and dragon descendants?! And she absolutely delivered. This was so much fun. The banter and the dynamic between the main characters was so cute, and the grief explored in this book had me tearing me up multiple times. And can I just say that I did not predict any of the twists in this story? I kept trying to figure out what was going to happen next, and I was wrong EVERY TIME.
This book is a bit different from her other novels, but it was also so refreshing. Everything I love about this author, shone throughout this novel. There were certain moments where I said to myself "ah yep, there it is, the horror author is still here in this lighthearted(ish) young adult book" 😂 And the way that she writes about belonging and acceptance, a theme she writes throughout all her novels, is something I always look forward to when I pick up her books.
"But the second anyone made eye contact with me, their expressions changed. No one had ever looked me in the eye and thought I belonged here. But they were right—I didn't belong here, or anywhere."
I loved Mina and Yejun so much. Yejun was so ridiculous half the time, but you could truly feel his good intentions and care for Mina. And Mina's devotion and strength towards her goal was something a bit heartbreaking to see, but also admirable. I will say the only reason this isn't a complete five star is that I did feel like the romance between Yejun and Mina was missing something. The dynamic itself I loved, but I think there needed to be another layer added to their story if that makes sense.
"What part of 'leave me alone' don't you understand?" ↳"And what part of 'the world will literally end' do you not understand?"
If you want a page turning story that reads like a high school k-drama with two time traveling agents who are dragon descendants (and who honestly are not the best spies 😂) that are trying to unravel the truth of all they've ever known, while also possibly save the world?! This story is for you. I'll Find You Where the Timeline Ends made me laugh, it made me cry, and it made me want to give Mina the biggest hug. This is a story that will make you smile, but will also explore grief, unwavering familial love, and self acceptance and belonging.
Will forever be a Kylie Lee Baker fan regardless of what genre she decides to write in. Thank you so much to Fierce Reads for the arc <3
I really enjoyed this book. I had so much fun reading it and listening to it. I originally was offered the ebook, but when I saw the audiobook was available too, I had to snag it—and thank goodness they approved my request. Immersive reading made the whole experience even better.
First off, Mina is hilarious and so relatable. She’s doing her best to keep up with training, fix ripples and timelines, work on her infiltration task, deal with being harassed by her ecos, all while trying not to fail calculus. She’s a very busy 18-year-old. Then we have Yejun—such a sweet guy. Thoughtful, charming, and the perfect balance to Mina’s clumsy personality. I loved the little note he wrote to himself about the cheesecake. 🥹 It was so sweet! And yes, I teared up when he told her she had parents who loved her. 😭 They had such a great chemistry.
The story is so well written that it completely grabs your attention and takes you on a journey of growth, discovery… and dragons. 😏 It has just the right amount of intrigue and keeps you flipping pages. It also leaves you with a few beautiful lessons and a reminder that time is a precious, ferocious thing.
“Most people thought of time as an unyielding constant, a sworn promise of sunrises and sunsets and shifting seasons. But only the descendants knew that time was nothing more than the whim of a forgotten god—it promised nothing, often lied, and had sharp, glistening teeth.”
Overall, this YA magical romance is absolutely worth your time. Well done, Kylie! 👏🏼

What if Japanese and Korean mythological dragons had descendants that have the power to time travel and change the past in the modern world? If you like Studio Ghibli films and Axie Oh’s sweet romances then you should give this a try!
Mina, a descendant and agent in training, is looking for her missing sister who may or may not have been erased from their timeline and has the help of a rogue descendant. The core of the magic system is the butterfly effect principle which I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEE!!! So it was great to see that it was such a crucial aspect of this book.
The dynamic between Mina and Yejun gave off grumpy fmc x sunshine mmc, and black cat x golden retriever energy. It’s definitely a sweet romantic development with a surprising amount of angst 👀. They had me bookmarking all the cute interactions between them on my kindle 🤭. Also he knows the way to break down her walls is through sweet treats and good food 😋. I will say, Mina’s personality may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but tbh I didn’t mind her flaws that much because they felt purposeful and necessary for the story and her own character growth.
Also there’s surprisingly a lot of mysteries that i was so intrigued by. So I was excited to know what the plot twists could be. There’s nothing too mind-blowing of a plot twist reveal but they did have me going OHHH!!!!🫨 a few times which was great.
Wow, I am a bit surprised at the mixed reviews on this one. First of all, I adored it 100%. Second of all, it delivered exactly what I would expect in a time travel YA fantasy with fluffy pink clouds on the cover - charming world building full of whimsy, romance and yearning, character growth, and a satisfying ending. I think exploring the impact of the butterfly effect between timelines is always clever and done so well here. I also think any time travel book requires suspension of belief and the decision to intentionally go with the flow and not try to understand plot holes (cause I will find plenty if I think about it, but that’s not what I’m reading for).
Anyway, what I’m saying is I read this for the vibes, and it exceeded my expectations. I loved every moment.
I switched between ebook, audiobook, and both together, and transitions between those mediums went flawlessly. Marai’s narration definitely adds to Mina’s personality and helped me to feel her emotions along with her for a wonderful reading and listening experience 💕
THANK YOU to Macmillan Children’s and Dreamscape Audio for the early copies.
I would like to thank Netgalley for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was soooo good but something felt off. I don’t know if it was the pacing or character development or the writing, but something felt wrong the entire time. Besides that though, this book was incredibly intriguing and the way it dealt with time travel was so interesting. Mins is such a fun main character (I too am very bad at calculus) and she actually made me want to try cheesecake. I wish we got to see a little more of the side character like Mina’s mentor and Jihyoon and even the parents (Mina’s parents did not feel real) but the parts that we did see these characters in were so fun. I’m usually not a fan of time travel stories but this was so good I def recommend. I’ll also be reading the authors future works because this was honestly so cute.
This was such a fun and fantastical read! The time traveling at the beginning may feel confusing and pointless (Mina meets several echoes throughout the first half of the book for seemingly no rhyme or reason). However, as you read it all neatly seals the loops into a complete circle that is so satisfying!
Mina feels like such a refreshing glass of water in a seemingly endless sea of same-faced YA main characters. She’s a bit of liar, has a weepy heart, all while being very determined in everything she does. Her relationships with both Yejun and Jihoon both end so well it never felt like I was being robbed of the opportunity of her getting with the wrong guy.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
huge thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!
i loved this read and i was absolutely hooked from the start!
the time travel aspect of this story was very well written, especially the showing of butterfly effects from even the smallest changes. the echos though were a tad confusing at the beginning but it was fun to figure it out as i read on.
mina was also an amazing lead character!! i adored her and yejun’s banter throughout the book.
this is a book i’d definitely recommend for those who are looking for a cute YA read with some sci-fi / fantasy elements
