Super interesting concept for a Doctor Who story. I can't think of many others where the "monster" has felt so totally alien. Much of the story is spent trying to understand it through proper scientific investigation, for which the 3/Liz combo works fantastically. Not so much in the way of action, which across 7 episodes results in a very different pace from other stories, but I think the more ponderous, cerebral style works really well. It's also wonderfully 70s - and they could never have managed it on TV.
A pretty good 3rd Doctor audio novel. It’s always great getting more Liz Shaw and Kate Orman delivers a perfect 7th Season addition voiced by the incomparable Jon Culshaw.
