The Kingdom at the End of the World

Rate this book
PROTECT - DEVELOP - BUILD

It has been a year and a half of living with the System. Jason and his friends are not just surviving, but are preparing for the future. Thanks to a new quest, they are establishing a kingdom in the former southwest portion of the United States. They are trying to protect humanity wherever possible and build a kingdom to defend their part of the world.

They are helping others build secure settlements and become self-sufficient. At the same time, the team is finding and cleaning up the messes the elves created before they were defeated and exiled.

Thrust into a leadership role they were not looking for, Jason and his friends find a way to pass on what they have learned while keeping humanity ahead of the threats around every corner.

Jason and his friends are building a future for their friends and family. To do that, they must clear dungeons, rebuild settlements, and support new and old allies in book four of this LitRPG series.

This book contained a lot of back and forth travel and what felt like a lot more content than the previous ones, It didn't really feel like there was any character growth outside of one short scene though. This may be the last book in the series based on how it ended but it leaves room open for more, if it is the last book I understand the authors choice as there was one point in this book where I was like "I could just skip the rest of this chapter to get past this dungeon and I wouldn't be missing anything" (but I didn't). The penultimate battle for the first 4 books or maybe first arc(?) was good but by that time I was kind of tired of elves and goblins (This probably stems from how quickly i burned through the 4 books), The end of the book gives hope for new threats and new places to explore though so if the author does continue it I look forward to that. In the end if you enjoyed the first three books this is more of the same on a slightly larger scale with some more mechanics introduced and you will enjoy it.

Heroes save the world

It’s not enough to save the world. Heroes must also lift up those around them. It is through this process that heroes create a kingdom around them. Not just to defeat the initial invading force, but to prepare for all future threats.

Excellent series, I enjoy the characters, good balance of stats and story. Mix of city building and character development.

It's exciting to see Jason and Co. on the next level god their adventure! Now that they're designated regional leaders on Earth by the System, more responsibility and new challenges come locking at their door. The characters are out of their comfort zone trying to lead the beginnings of a kingdom, but that only leads to growth. I am so excited to see where they head next in this series!

The personality-free, emotionless, joyless robots continue grinding for levels. Why did I waste so much time on this ridiculous series.

it sounded challenging and fun, which was a welcome change.

When the characters themselves admit the book isn't fun, it is time to pack it in.

Wild ride

What fun to see everything growing, people’s levels, combining into a kingdom, etc. great battle scenes that don’t get so graphic that you know how many drops of blood were on the wall! Great read.

The percentages seem so low to me

It just seems way too low and even though they say it does a lot it doesn't seem like it
