Ginger Sparks never expected to spend her Christmas season dressed as an elf at the local mall, but when life hands you a holiday job, you make the most of it! Just when she thinks her cheerful spirit has hit rock bottom, a snowstorm and a handsome, grumpy journalist named Xavier bring an unexpected twist to her festive plans.
As Ginger and Xavier navigate holiday chaos, they discover a connection that ignites sparks hotter than a roaring fireplace. With laughter, a sprinkle of romance, and a dash of Christmas magic, they'll discover things about themselves they never even knew.
But when the snow melts and reality sets back in, will Ginger and Xavier be able to hold onto the joy they’ve found together? Or will their budding romance be just another holiday story lost in the hustle and bustle of life?
Such a light and happy Christmas read! So much holiday cheer in this short read that really brings out the festive spirit! 🎄🎅 I love the banter between the two!
If you are looking for an over the top, extreme holiday cheer, sweet, happy story with a HEA - then this is your book!! This is also the second book of the Snowed in For Christmas series. I have not read book 1 so I do not know if there is any overlap between the stories. I also downloaded the free Bonus Scene for Xavier and Ginger via Book Funnel with the link at the end of the book if you signed up for Em Tate’s newsletter. If you have this option I would recommend it even though it didn’t end the way I was expecting it to.
The elf and the grinch meet during a white out snow storm and it changes both of their lives! There are literally only 2 other characters in the book, Xavier’s mom and dad, but they add some background and context to the story and so are very much needed.
Can you imagine where a stranger rescues you, you turn his cabin into a Christmas haven, and fall in love? Me either but hey! It’s the season of miracles!
“Snowed in with Grinchy” is a short novella which confuses a mild case of depression with being a Grinch (i.e a mean-spirited person who spoils the enjoyment of others, especially regarding Christmas). Ginger works as a “mall elf, alongside a trio of overenthusiastic reindeer and a Santa who smells suspiciously like beef jerky ... not quite the magical experience I’d envisioned when I dreamed of sugarplum fairies and gingerbread houses.” Xavier is an overworked journalist who normally spends Christmas working, not celebrating. During a snowstorm, when Ginger's car skids off the road, they end up back at his cabin. She's relentlessly cheerful and he, reluctantly at first, perks up. Ginger annoyed the hell outta me - my inner Grinch would have booted her back into the blizzard. 2 Stars.
Ginger Sparks is working as a Christmas elf to make ends meet though she dreams of being a writer. One night her car slides on some ice and she is rescued by dashing journalist Xavier who takes her to his cabin over the Christmas season. As the lights are twinkling and the festivities get under way he begins to see past his grumpiness and notices the charm of Ginger. So when the snow melts and Christmas is over and it's back to real life will she want to stay or go? This was a meet cute story with a seasonal flavour and is a great one sitting read. Loved it.
If you enjoy a sweet romcom style holiday short story, this is a very good choice. The two main characters-Lily and Cole-begin marriage as strangers and take a leap to a family Christmas. There is funny repartee, family angst, beautiful holiday activities in a picture-perfect town, and a test of what is building to be a true relationship. Lily struggles with perceptions of her place in her family and Cole struggles with his priorities. Throughout all of this, there were terrific moments based on humor, love and care. I enjoyed this book and look forward to another story by this author.
This was a super quick and fun Christmas read where we meet Ginger and Xavier and share their meet cute and watch as they get to know each other after Xavier saves Ginger during a storm and let's her stay with him until the storm passes.
Ginger is a true Christmas elf, and brings the spirit and joy of Christmas to Xavier. Reading this really made me look forward to Christmas, and had me queuing up the Christmas Carols and planning to get Christmas going in my house a lot sooner than normal!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
2nd book in Snowed in for Christmas series was my favorite. Mall elf Ginger in the middle of snowstorm is saved by the "helpful stranger" aka Grumpy reindeer Xavier. He just needed her sprinkle of a little magic. What an endless back-and-forth banter it was! So funny. And yes, professional holiday cheerleader Olivia completes her mission. Short and easy reading, sweet and funny!.

This was such a cute, short holiday read! Ginger and Xavier appear to be total opposites when grumpy Scrooge, Xavier, rescues Ginger, the spunky elf in a snowstorm. From there, the banter ensues, and it's hilarious! If you have about an hour and need a good pick me up, read this book! It will make you smile. I loved it!
This was fun to read. I loved that it was short and sweet because that was just what I needed. This was the first time that I read a story by Em Tate, and I enjoyed it. It helped maintain the holiday cheer in the air, which is good since I'm not ready for Christmas to be over.
