Ariana Grande is a global icon, one whose voice and presence have a powerful effect on those around her. This inspiring picture book recounts Grande’s rise to stardom through illustrations and select text that is designed to also resonate with readers of all ages. By comparing Grande’s life to that of the reader, the book encourages tenacity and perseverance even in the face of great difficulty. Written utilizing only a few words, the book speaks to a wide range of ages and can be returned to with frequency whenever life presents a need to do so. Especially for fans of Grande and her work, the tangible nature of this book and the comparisons it makes between Grande’s life and that of others makes success feel possible across a spectrum of circumstances. The glamorous nature of both the imagery and the font used throughout the book emphasizes Grande’s iconic brand, especially relating to her work with the Wicked franchise. Written to speak directly to the reader, the words are intentionally non-gendered and exude support and positivity. Whether the story is being read by a cherished caregiver or if the reader is imagining Grande’s own voice speaking the words, the message the book imparts is one of bravery, strength, and perseverance while spreading kindness and light. This is a lovely story to share with Ariana Grande fans of all ages.

You Are Magic is an uplifting children’s book that is short and sweet—perfect for the repeat read to encourage your little one.

My kids and I listened to the audiobook version of this story. The first half has encouraging words to keep your child believing in themselves. The second half is about Ariana Grande and the things she’s done in her life, including her career and philanthropic successes.

The audiobook is well done by a single narrator, Amanda Stribbling, who is a narrator I really enjoy listening to. There were great sound effects throughout the story to keep kids engaged. It’s great for listening to in the car, or while you follow along with the book.

This was a cute little biography about Ariana Grande. I only knew the basics about her going in, so it actaully provided some facts and interesting information that I didn't know. It was well written and would be good for a young fan or just someone who was interested after watching wicked and wanted to find out more about her.
It did mention her helping charities that benefit LGBTQ+ so I could see it being "banned" or not purchased at my local library for that reason. That's all the more reason to read it for yourself in some way or request your library to purchase it.

This audiobook was super quick! I listened to it with my kids on a short ride we had to the store. It had brief affirmations in the beginning. (My kids are 11, 10, and 6. They're fans of Ariana songs. But they were giggling during the affirmations.) Then a bio about Ari was up next. It was a lot of information that I had already known, but they hadn't which led to a small discussion. I do think the physical book probably would have been better to look through and see photos especially for the age group it is for. The audiobook missed the mark as it was very brief. Narration and added music was good.

For everyone who needs a pick-me-up or a positive word to start your day, this is the quick read you need. While this is a children’s book, the positive messages are ones to live by.
“You beam your light” into the darkness
“Don’t deny your sparkle”
You have a “powerful voice”.
These are beautiful reminders to the youth of our generation and for us adults who need a gentle reminder. You are magic, you are special, and you matter.
The short book also gives Ari her shoutouts with her accomplishments both as an actor/singer and an advocate for organizations and causes that makes a difference.

You Are Magic by Emma Carlson Berne is such a great children’s book for fans of Ariana Grande. I loved that the wording of this book was her song titles and lyrics. I feel like this book will help remind your child to be positive and confident and to let your light shine!! I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was great. I also love the beautiful cover art. ✨

This early reader must be part of a series of "You Are Magic" books. There's an overall affirmation at the beginning of the book. Then, it tells the major highlights of Ariana Grande's life. My 17-year old is a huge fan and listed to the audiobook with me and confirms that the book is factually accurate.

Overall, a cute book for the littlest fans.

I think this book has two different sides. It starts with being an uplifting you are magic and wonderful for being you book and then it goes into Ariana Grande's life story so far. It's ok but I'm not sure of it's purpose.

A quick, motivational read or listen for little ones.
'Book' seems a loose use of the word as I listened to it in under 5 minutes.
That said, I enjoyed the info about Ari and it's very positive and motivational—maybe grab it for your tiny bookworms.
