Some people think that Tiffany Spratt is a shallow ditz. But some people don't know what goes on inside her head. As she herself puts it: "Unlike me, life isn't always pretty." Even though she's Head Yell Leader of the cheerleading squad, going steady with the best-looking guy in school, and making her acting debut in a major motion picture, she has her bad days, too. And when everything goes down the drain, and she goes from Miss Popularity to Miss Reject of the Universe, she somehow finds a way to carry on&150and you'll be laughing the whole way.
Cynthia D. Grant is the award-winning author of "Mary Wolf" and "The White Horse." She is a popular American author who writes novels about growing up. Her books appeal to young adults who want to read stories about life in the real world. As Grant commented in an interview with Authors and Artists for Young Adults, "Since 1980 I have published ten books for children and young adults, primarily for the young adult category, which is considered age twelve and up. I don't ever sit down and write 'for' children. I'm an adult; I write what sounds good to me." In her novels, Grant tackles difficult social problems such as alcoholism, child abuse, and homelessness. Grant is not afraid to portray violence and other graphic situations. However, the overall message she conveys is that, no matter what the problem, young adults can survive adolescence. After all, Grant said, "Most of us who write for children or young adults know that they read books not only to be entertained, but to be enlightened and encouraged." Her characters are heroes who triumph over tragedy. They are realistic young people who overcome a variety of obstacles, and stand for the winning qualities of righteousness, maturity, humor, and independence. Grant has received important awards for....for her work, including the PEN/Norma Klein Award in 1991.She lives in the mountains outside Cloverdale, California.
So I found this in my school library today and I thought why not read this? Where did this title come from ? And what happened to little 'Miss Popularity' to make her 'Miss Reject of the Universe' ?? And so I read it and I mean I don't entirely regret it but I'm not quite sure what I got out of it¿ I gotta admit I was seriously hoping Tiffany would get her life together before the end of the book - as in catch up with all the homework she missed and realize that not everything is the way she sees it - and graduate with everyone but I mean I guess it worked out in the end that she didn't and had to acknowledge her mistakes ? Idk it just really reminded me of Cher from the movie Clueless like as I was reading all I could hear was Cher's voice. I mean this wasn't a terrible book but it wasn't GREAT. But it also was a little good enough for me to not want to stop it. I wanted to see what would happen in hopes that Tiff would seriously acknowledge everything going on. All in all, I loved Campbell and yeah I'm not sure what else to say. What an odd yet weird yet interesting book.

So superficial and funny, it's like the best reality show- you root for Tiffany to fall flat on her face, wonder how the heck she ever got where she is, and pity her poor parents and teachers. I booktalked this to 7th graders and it was off my shelves for a whole year! Popular girls see the humor in how they're perceived, unpopular kids LOVE that it all falls apart, non-readers find it so quick and full of the ridiculous they don't even realize they're reading (come on- she cons the principla into agreeing to host a horror movie film shoot?!)
The Book The Cannibals Was About Love. I Liked This Book Because It Teaches People How Not To Be Bullied. Or To Bully Other People. When People Got Bullied In This Book There Always Other People There To Stand Up For Them Even If They Didn't Need Help. It's All About Friendship And Love. A Couple Sentences About The Book. " Every One Worked Together To Help Mimi Be Able To Give The Speech At The Graduation Ceremony." Tiff Was Sad Because She Got Told That She Can't Graduate. Everyone Ended Up Working Together. Everyone Also Ended Up Being Happy For Others.
What an awful book! Told by a head cheerleader who is going out with the best looking guy in school, the story draws on the worst of stereotypes, has no real plot that is not so predictable that it is sickening, and is just plain a cheap excuse for trying to exploit the teen market. It’s supposed to be funny, but is merely shallow. I wouldn’t recommend this one to anyone, no matter howdesperate.
Don’t waste your time on this YA book. Unless you’re a teen girl who’s looking for a parody of the pretty, popular girls who may torment her in high/middle school, you won’t find anything in its pages worthwhile. I rarely finish a book that starts this badly, but I thought that surely it must have a turnaround in the middle, or else why would it have gotten published? Yeah, still no answer to that one.
This book is actually geared more towards pre-teen than teens and may possibly be very funny if you are in that age group today, but it just didn't grab me. I'm embarrassed to admit that I read this book!
At first I thought Cannibals is a shallow Young Adult book. Well it is kind of shallow but still entertaining. It's funny and heartwarming at the same time.
I, personally, didn't like this book. it was really boring to me. but it would be a book about the typical teenage girls's life. it has everything to do with drama, school, and mostly one boy.
this book was just funny and it was misleading. all my friends looked at the cover and asked if i was reading a murder story. the book is not a murder just a down right hilarious story.
