THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON SEASON 1 + 2.

STARTED OFF INTRIGUING. Caspian was ruthless, hot and extremely heavy handed. Season 1 is wayyy better than Season 2, because in Book 2, it appeared as if someone had declawed Caspian and turned him into a kitten. Everything that intrigued me about him turned completely different in Book 2, as if he was dare I say emasculated by a woman?

ANNALISE wasn't all that bad, but she didn't quite shine either. I liked that she stood her ground and didn't cower, knew how to choose her battles, but I wished she did MORE. Challenged Caspian MORE. The author had me at the whole she was forced to be his reluctant bride trope. Sadly, not much happened after.

Passion Wise
Book 1 was hot but there was nothing in Book 2, and I'm very very sure they haven't had sex yet.

The Best Angst?
The fact that Caspian insists on having a harem even though his heart is set on Annalise.

Relationship or Romance wise...
Honestly, there wasn't much heart to heart moments between Caspian and Annalise to build a solid relationship. As in, I don't quite understand why they even love each other when they felt still like strangers to me. And let's talk about trust...there was ZERO trust between the two. Lots of Les Miserables and stubbornness, but no sweet romance to write home about.

OVERALL while this read like an amateur shifter romance, didn't flow smoothly and had very little world building, I still enjoyed it, and for the sake of having closure, I look forward to reading Season 3. Hopefully, Caspian will do the right thing.

𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚: 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐰𝐨 is the second book in the Wolves of New Eden series by Rachel Jonas, continuing Cas and Annalise’s story where Season One ended. It started off great with Annalise in peril and Cas determined to save her, but as it went on they both seemed to retreat from their usually strong personalities under the strain of Cas’ ridiculous plan for producing an heir. It feels like there’s still some subterfuge and behind the scenes drama at play, and I have my suspicions, but I’ll have to wait and see how the next installment plays out. I need Cas to use his brain and share his secrets with Annalise before it’s too late. Although with that ending, he’s going to have to work for it. The best character in this season was probably Aunt Pen, as she expertly handled an alpha.😆 I’m jumping right into Season 3 now to hopefully find more answers! You definitely must read Season One first, since these are not standalones!! I look forward to finding out if Cas maneuvers a way out of the mess he has created!😅

After that cliffhanger at the end of Cruel Alpha: season one I couldn't wait to start season two. And what a ride it was. Rachel Jonas had me in a choke hold from start to finish. And what an end to season two it is. Needless to say I read it in one sitting. Wow , just wow! I so loved Annalise and was glad that she found her voice again and stood for herself. And Aunt Pen was such an addition to the court and such an inspiration for Annalise. And she really tried to bring common sense to Cas and let him see the whole picture. But what drove her point home was that dinner when Cas saw clearly what the situation really is. And Annalise was so regal and the true Alpha Regent. And her exiting the situation urged Cas to confess a lot of things to her a little too late . Thank god Cruel Alpha: season Three is already on my Kindle. Because grovelling Cas and Alpha Cas bringing back the order will be something else to observe .

Picking up right from the drastic cliffhanger in season one, season two continues full steam ahead, except this time we get to meet more of the man behind the Alpha

Cas has fallen hard for Annalise, and in this second part, we get to see a different man. The cruel alpha from the first book is now a softer alpha around his mate. This is a man who was hit with almost losing his mate before he even had her and now can't fathom a world without her.

Although for all of the changes we see in this book, Cas' only mistake is continuing his pursuit of adding to harem and furthering his bloodline. In theory, it makes sense, but for his and Annalise's hearts, it's torture.

Expect catty jealousy, a man who is clueless when it comes to women, and a lot more tension between these two lovers.

I am really enjoying the "seasons" so far. My heart just breaks for Annalise for what all she has to endure. I was hoping with how the first season ended that maybe some things would of changed, but so far it seems to be the same between the two of them. Maybe one day Caspian can learn from his mistakes and be the man Annalise deserves.

I can't wait to see what happens next for the two of them. So far their story has been an emotional rollercoaster. I'm hoping in the next season we can see more growth in their relationship and connection between the two of them. After things ending in this season, I am definitely ready for the next!

8 Wows ~ I want more of the story. My heart is broken for both of them.

Rachel has evoked deep emotions in me while reading her story. I crave a happy ending, but I know more adventure is coming in her next book.
