1 star. DNF at 52 %*Emotional porn at its worst.
I was seriously thrilled to read this book coz let’s face it. How many times can you meet a hot fifty-year-old hero? Yes, please. I’m game anytime! Um…Adam’s gorgeous physique was the best aspect of this story. I am honestly surprised when I look at this high average rating. Have I read the same book? What’s wrong with me? Well, I’m going to tell you what’s wrong with this book. Just keep in mind it’s only my opinion though.

It starts off with Adam lying and he’s sporting a hard-on. Two words. Not believable. I remember how painful a sunburn is and I didn’t want anyone to touch that part of my skin let alone lying on it. And I sure as hell didn’t have sex on my mind. Nope. Also, if he was with his Kitten? Why did he have a boner? Shortly after Adam is able to fuck Kitten’s brain out. All the fucking time. Whew. I’m speechless.

Come to think of it, the twitching and rock-hard cocks, dicks, hardening nips, nipples, tits, asses, tightening balls…or whatever were all over the place. The main characters as well as practically the whole secondary cast of characters have to deal with either death of loved ones, or rape, abuse, and psychological problems. Now I’m kidding but I was wondering if Adam posted an ad on the ‘Net. I’m looking for partners to establish a high-end BDSM club. Please contact me when you’re into the lifestyle and you have experienced either death of loved ones and plenty of anguish or physical and emotional torture in order to seek out females who have survived loss, rape and abuse. Said females will be healed through kink and plenty of love. Satisfaction guaranteed. I know I’m a bit sarcastic but I couldn’t help it.
Seriously, I almost expected to deal with a dead gold fish as well. Um, the dead gold fish was a wild guess. But wait a second, Bambi died too. The constant inner monologue irritated the hell out of me! And the day I don’t have to read the term “ka-thunk” anymore, cannot come soon enough! Overall there was too much repetitiveness, i. e. ka-thunk, breathy voice, breathy words etc., etc. The writing is uninspiring, boring, stilted, and cheesy. Just ‘blah’. Also, I don’t want to be emotionally manipulated. I hate it! If the goal was to make me cry or to feel sorry for the MCs, then I have to say that the author failed big time. Not once did I cry while reading this story. If anything, I got more and more irritated and I wanted it to be over ASAP.

Holly- Holy Crap! I waited NOT so patiently for Master Adam's book and I have to say he was definitely worth the wait. Yowza!! Now, remember I began my love affair with Adam at, oh like, page 2 of Masters at Arms, and this kinky girl was more than ready for the fun to begin!!
Elena~ Karla waited nine years for Adam to give in and stop seeing her as the 16 year old teenage girl he met and rescued. ( Why? There's a 25years age gap.) Finally!! Master Seargent Adam Montague and Karla find love. This book was the steamiest of the series thus far, but I also found it to be most frustrating. **Spoiler Alert**
Adam is twenty-five years Karla's senior and is in major denial about his feelings for her. He wants to view her as the sixteen year old he met nine years ago. He is disgusted with himself for the attraction he has to her now that she is twenty-five years old. In addition, he has some serious demons in his past that he hasn't dealt with. Adam try's to push Karla away by demanding that they can only be together as a (Master/Slave, 24/7) agreement even though he doesn't even desire it. He hoped the agreement would be so unbearable that Karla would use the safe word and walk away from him and stop tempting him. I hated the lying from him because I had placed him on a pedestal. Adam's plan to scare Karla off just drove me CRAZY because he was such an honorable good man but he didn't feel he was worthy of love. Didn't even think he was capable of giving love.
Karla was so in love with Adam that she was willing to sacrifice her feisty personality and independence to try and mold herself into the perfect slave for Adam. Adam actually safe worded out of the arrangement in order to protect Karla from herself. Yeah, apparently a Master can safe word if he finds that the agreement isn't working. I never knew that. Adam did fail to communicate why he safe worded which left Karla feeling emotionally insecure. Asshole!!

Adam and Karla had so much love for each other, but Adam's demons and own insecurities got in the way. Kally weaved a detailed story where all questions about Adam's past were answered and his demons were laid to rest. It should have been a major feel good moment, but after all the turmoil Adam put me ( and Karla) through, it wasn't enough to save this book.
I had originally rated this 1 star because I was so upset with Adam for not being the man he seamed to be in book #1. He came across like a total DICK! Kally's characters all have a multitude of issues. And Karla was more patient and forgiving with Adam than I had the patience for.
I really hate it when I love a character and can't wait to read his book, only to have the author present him as a Selfish, Inconsiderate, Ass in their own book!!! Oh and she took a strong, independent heroine, and made her act desperate and insecure!

He is disgusted with himself for the attraction he has to her now that she is twenty-five years old. In addition, he has some serious demons in his past that he hasn't dealt with. Adam try's to push Karla away by demanding that they can only be together as a (Master/Slave, 24/7) agreement even though he doesn't even desire it. He hoped the agreement would be so unbearable that Karla would use the safe word and walk away from him and stop tempting him. I hated the lying from him because I had placed him on a pedestal. Adam's plan to scare Karla off just drove me CRAZY because he was such an honorable good man but he didn't feel he was worthy of love. Didn't even think he was capable of giving love.
Karla was so in love with Adam that she was willing to sacrifice her feisty personality and independence to try and mold herself into the perfect slave for Adam. Adam actually safe worded out of the arrangement in order to protect Karla from herself. Yeah, apparently a Master can safe word if he finds that the agreement isn't working. I never knew that. Adam did fail to communicate why he safe worded which left Karla feeling emotionally insecure. Asshole!!

Adam and Karla had so much love for each other, but Adam's demons and own insecurities got in the way. Kally weaved a detailed story where all questions about Adam's past were answered and his demons were laid to rest. It should have been a major feel good moment, but after all the turmoil Adam put me ( and Karla) through, it wasn't enough to save this book.
I had originally rated this 1 star because I was so upset with Adam for not being the man he seamed to be in book #1. He came across like a total DICK! Kally's characters all have a multitude of issues. And Karla was more patient and forgiving with Adam than I had the patience for.
I really hate it when I love a character and can't wait to read his book, only to have the author present him as a Selfish, Inconsiderate, Ass in their own book!!! Oh and she took a strong, independent heroine, and made her act desperate and insecure!

I couldn't get into this book. There was too much back story of the cougar attack, not likely, cougars are very solitary and stay away from people, but anyway. This attack is mentioned something like five times by the chapter three with no additional bits of info pertinent to the story revealed. And then, of all things, Adam is in the hospital, laying ON HIS BACK, after this wild animal RIPPED the skin off his back and Karla is laying ON TOP OF HIM?!?! Yeah, he's on painkillers but unless he's totally knocked out there would be no way. Must be the Marine thing,but he wouldn't be able to do this even with sunburn. And to top it, Adam is getting a hard on and apparently under the influence of heavy drugs, he screws Carla in the HOSPITAL BED!!! While at any moment anyone could walk in. Maybe they get aroused by the fact that they could get caught, but come on! Then apparently the fog lifts off him and he realizes what he's done, pffff.... then for the rest he's running away from her yet somehow she keeps ending up in his bed and he does it over and over again. I don't know but wasn't the first sign of insanity doing the things the same way and expecting different results?
Karla is quite experienced in bed for a virgin, I thought. Anyhow, this is where I stopped. Sorry. I may give one more try to these books with third book, the story of Savannah and Damien, but the way they all disappoint so far I can't guarantee.

I enjoyed this one much more than Nobody’s Angel.
It’s part 3 of the continuing Masters at Arms saga and this really is a saga. The story continues from one book to the next, there’s a lot of story building in each one and they really wouldn’t work as stand alones.
This time, we have the story of Master Adam and his sub Karla who is 25 years his junior. He rescued her from a potentially dangerous situation in a bus station when she was just 16. She’s been in love with him ever since and they’ve become penpals in the intervening years. Adam, who was newly widowed at the time, thinks of her as just a kid and nothing more. He was aware of her infatuation but considered it to be a childish crush. He was wrong.
Karla walks back into Adam’s life as a singer in his BDSM club several years later. Adam has a passionately physical reaction to seeing her and is horrified at himself. He has a traumatic childhood behind him and is beset in adulthood with all kinds of feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness. He believes he may have killed his father, he feels he was a bad husband to his first wife who suffered and died of cancer mostly in his absence due to his military commitments and he feels responsible for deaths of his fallen colleagues. Hence the book’s title, Nobody’s Hero.
Karla, on the other hand, considers him to be a hero and is still deeply in love with him. She knows he won’t make a move and goes after him as a power submissive on turbo charge. Adam, knowing he can’t escape her, decides to push her into an agreement she will consider intolerable to force her to safeword out and they start an extreme TPE master/slave agreement.
Karla takes to this like a duck to water, to Adam’s surprise, and it isn’t her that eventually has to safeword but both of them are aware that Karla’s personality is fading to grey with this agreement. He’s losing the feisty women he was, unknowingly, falling in love with.
And so the story continues on much in this vein with Karla constantly topping him – she’s brought him to his knees before, can she do it again one more and final time?
I loved this story – Adam’s deep lack of self worth was really tangible and he almost reduced me to tears on more than one occasion. Karla, also grief stricken due to the recent loss of her brother, is a character to admire – she’s strong, resolute and cares deeply for Adam and will do anything for him.
There are a few supernatural elements to this series now with Cassie’s spirit drawings in book 2 and Joni’s (Adam’s late wife) voice a constant presence throughout this one.
These stories are strongly about the emotional journey the central couple take. Of course there’s a whole lot of sex, it’s a BDSM novel after all, which is very hot, but it’s more of a backdrop to the personal strife and problems and not the reason for being of the novel.
As always, we have world building besides the central couple. The next book, Damian and Savi, is set up nicely here especially with the epilogue and really has left me howling for the next one. Thankfully, it is due out next week.
So, all in all, a big improvement on book 2, I felt, and I’m deeply invested in these characters now and can’t wait for Nobody’s Perfect. Bring it on.

Holly- Holy Crap! I waited NOT so patiently for Master Adam's book and I have to say he was definitely worth the wait. Yowza!! Now, remember I began my love affair with Adam at, oh like, page 2 of Masters at Arms, and this kinky girl was more than ready for the fun to begin!!
Elena~ Karla waited nine years for Adam to give in and stop seeing her as the 16 year old teenage girl he met and rescued. ( Why? There's a 25years age gap.) Adam's ignorance of ignoring this little tiger was wrong in so many ways. Karla fights back with claws and doesn't give up. Once she stakes her claims there's no turning back.

As for scene that started the quivering in my girl parts, OMG, the Shibari suspension scene, um, I would TOTALLY volunteer to let Master Adam practice (anything) on me! LOL - just kidding Karla *holding hands up and backing away*

Now, many years later, he is still her Hero!
I can't thank Kally enough for creating these wonderful characters for me to love and obsess over! Thank you for making Adam everything I knew he would be!!

. When they met Adam was a hard bitten marine facing another war zone, on the heels of losing his wife, and coveted slave of twenty years. Karla was a clueless sixteen year runaway, over her head in a dangerous situation. Despite his own problems, he couldn't help but come to her rescue.
This couple have a twenty-five year age gap. Amazingly enough the author did an incredible job of keeping this from being skeevy at all. It's obvious from their first meeting that Karla is crushing hard over everything that Adam represents. To his credit, Adam is horrified, but so sweet in his boundary setting at that time. Karla is much older before anything happens. There is never any age play, or anything taboo about this pairing explored. I loved this book. It has the right mix of angst, heat, and believability. It also highlighted some techniques unexplored in any of my previously read BDSM novels. Both characters are very endearing. Easily my favorite in the series so far.

I'll be in the minority, but that's okay;)
The very first book, Masters At Arms, is the best so far. The writing in Nobody's Angel and Nobody's Perfect was a bit lacking. I've been looking forward to Adam's and Karla's story from that very first book, and I had very high hopes. They may have been too high. Either way, I was a bit disappointed, especially with the first half of this book. The second half was a bit better, but not by much. If I'm really honest, this read more like NCIS fanfic than anything else. I love that particular show; however, I don't enjoy fanfic all that much. It was way too obvious that Adam was Gibbs (pretty sure it's even mentioned he resembles him) and Karla was supposed to be Abby. Now, if you know the show? That idea turns my stomach as Gibbs is a father figure to Abby on that show! Guh! This grossed me out!
So, no, not a fan of this one for too many reasons to name. I had high hopes for Damian and Savannah as well, but I'm wary now.

Warning: emotional torture porn. I am so grateful that none of the characters had pets, because they would have died in some horrible way. I was confused a lot of the time by the emotions and motivations. I understand that the characters were confused too, but there many moments that made no sense to me. A lot of people have found these books sexy, but I had a hard time getting into it with all the emotional whiplash and . And yet, because I apparently hate myself, I will read the next book, because I already bought it.

Nobody’s Hero by Kallypso Masters is the 3rd story in the Master of Arms series. It is a wonderful addition to this series and was definitely one that I was highly anticipating its release. Ms. Masters had me hooked in her first book, Masters of Arms, when she introduced these two characters and it was Adam and Karla’s story that I was most intrigued about how it all was going to work out for them. Was he going to be able to let go of his wife’s memories? Was Karla’s declaration of love going to be taken seriously or was it a hero’s infatuation? What is going to bring these two people together again? This story answers those questions and added so much more! I was totally impressed with how it was better than I anticipated.

I have had a bit of a crush on Adam since the first book and was so looking forward to his story!! Adam is truly a tortured and damaged soul in desperate need of fixing and this paired with him being total alpha male gorgeousness completely appeals to me! But....unfortunately through most of the story (well until 2/3 in really) I was left frustrated at the constant lack of communication and unnecessary drama. I also have a problem with the 24/7 "slave" issue. There were other bits of the story that were questionable too and took the story beyond the realms of reality like hearing and talking to a ghost..what was that??!!
So that is why Adam's book fell short for me. I will say though that I did love the characters and their respective emotions and journey's, it's the massively screwed up way they went about it I had a problem with. As for the yummy scenes all I'll say is HOT!!!!
Adam is 25 years older than Karla and is in major denial about his feelings for her. He keeps rescuing her, the first being when she was 16, and they have kept in touch ever since. Adam feels extremely protective of her and she is a life line to him and unbeknownst to him, at the start, she rescued him too on several occasions. It is not until she enters his club 9 years later that he sees her for the woman she has become and acknowledges that he is attracted to her. However he wants to continue to view her as the 16 year old he met nine years ago and is disgusted with himself for the attraction he has to her now. Adam is so scared to love again and refuses for anyone to get close. His insecurities and troubled soul has built a brick wall round him for protection which results in actions that completely go against the honorable man that he is.
Karla is madly in love with Adam, has been since she was sweet 16. She'd do anything to secure his love - as a man loves a woman. I truly felt for Karla, the amount of times her heart was ripped from her chest I am surprised she came out of this intact! At first I was shouting at her (well my kindle) for being weak and to stand up for herself, however I then asked myself how far would you go/what would you try to reach the man you loved and receive his love back in return??!!
So yes this story was frustrating, but I did enjoy it and Adam came good for me in the end so I am no longer mad at him LOL, it was a close call though!!

That was one hell of an emotional roller coaster- I can’t remember when I last read a book that made me...feel SO much. I did feel everyone’s emotions in this one as if they were my own: Karla’s, Adam’s, Damian’s, Savi’s, Marc’s, Angelina’s, Luke’s, Cassie’s, even Grant’s…they were all so clear and heart-wrenching, I felt like residing in their heads. Brilliant job!
The sex scenes were H-A-W-T with a capital H and frequent- exactly the way I like it. The romance is just perfect and makes me HUNGER for the next book in the series…it’s not easy to find really HOT novels that are sexy and deeply romantic at the same time, which makes me enjoy the “Masters”-series all the more.
The teaser with Damian and Savi was so delicious I’ll be pretty much on the edge of my seat til the next book comes out- PLEASE- let that be SOON!!!! I hardly ever read every book of a series- I’m absolutely positive this one will be one of the few where I won’t miss a book. The characters are just too delicious.
There’s only one thing that could make this perfect series even better: if Luke happened to be blond…but I like that Kallypso Masters doesn’t frequently describe her characters’ outer appearance- that leaves more room for the imagination and you know me: in my head, every hero is blond…even Damian :D.

There’s only one thing that could make this perfect series even better: if Luke happened to be blond…but I like that Kallypso Masters doesn’t frequently describe her characters’ outer appearance- that leaves more room for the imagination and you know me: in my head, every hero is blond…even Damian :D.
SOLID five stars- and I’ll be impatiently waiting for Damian and Savi’s story!

I have been waiting for Adam's book since meeting this extraordinary man in Master at Arms. As none of the books in this series should be read as stand alone I am not going to give a review as if it was.
Its been 9 years since Adam saved Karla from a pimp at a bus station and she has been in love with him ever since.
The title of this book is what Adam has to overcome through out this book - thinking he is Nobody's Hero.
There were two main things that always prevented Adam from giving in to his feelings for Karla and starting a relationship. His guilt over his dead wife Joni and the 25 year age difference between them. As he was recovering from saving Karla from a cougar his defensive's were down and in the midst of a dream and days of being on pain killers made love to Karla. I think the author did a fantastic job of showing us both sides of a relationship between two people with such a vast age difference. Adam has 50 years of pain and regret on his soul where as Karla has all the insecurities of a woman her age. I am in my mid forties and I could still remember having all those feelings and thoughts that Karla did - no matter the age men and women never seem to look or feel they same about something that happens in the relationship. Most of the times the guy is left scratching his head wondering what he did he wrong as Adam did through most of this book. I loved being on the journey with this two as Adam finally conquered all of his demons from the past and Karla finally got her man.
As with with the first book this book doesn't just deal with one couple. We get to see how Marc and Angelina's relationship is progressing. And then when something tragic happens in Damian's family that takes him back to CA this reunites him with Savannah who is now a mother and a counselor but who wants nothing to do with him until something sends her running for his protection at the end of the book setting up there book that comes out this year.
I loved this book and I am looking forward to all the future ones in this series.

I wont go into the synopsis of Nobody's Hero, as it has been done so well by so many.
BUT.......
Ohh Kallypso, am I glad you gave up your job to become a full time author.
Loved how Master at Arms gave us the initial background to all the characters, wasn't sure at first as there was no HEA, but boy did it work as we got to know the all the players so well before they have their own stories. After finishing it I immediately downloaded Nobody's Angel and Nobody's Hero.
I tried to hold off reading Master Adam and Karla's story, knowing the next book wasn't out 'til May!!
Unfortunately, I could hold out no longer and delved into the 3rd book in the series.
Amazing..... I was flooded by every emotion possible reading this book and it was a roller coaster!!! (tears, gasps, smiles, laughter and not forgetting the palpitations or Ka-thunk!!;)
I am sure you have gathered that I loved this book and the previous 2, only downside is having to wait......for the next fix.
The epilogue leads us nicely with great anticipation for Damian and Savannah's story. Soooo can't wait.

This story was mediocre for me. It was the one I was most looking forward to after the introductory book.
I couldn't wait to read about Adam and Karla however as I felt with the last book the story took forever to reach its conclusion. There were certainly some intense moments of heat however, I think the whole story could have been condensed significantly.

Reread for a goodreads challenge.This book just resonated with me the second time around.If I could give it 10***,I would.Adam and Karla made the perfect couple despite their 25 year age difference.It was a May/Dec romance with elements of BDSM .

OMG I really don't know where to being. First of all this cannot be read as a stand-alone YOU HAVE TO START AT THE BEGINNING WITH MASTERS AT ARMS!!! Ever since reading Adam's intro in that story I could not wait to read this book and it was absolutely amazing! Not only were there some of the hottest BDSM scenes I have ever read, but there were so many emotional moments that left me in tears.
When I was not reading this book I was thinking about it and craving it until I had the time to pick it up and continue reading it. Everything else was forgotten and all I wanted to do was just get lost in the story with Adam and Karla.
I have to say the author made the characters FEEL SO ALIVE that I felt that I was right there watching everything play out. All the characters in the series seem SO REAL that you feel that they are actual people who are sharing their experiences with you.
Adam may be 50 years and feels that he is too old for 25 year old Karla, but his body sure doesn't show it. Not only does he still have a ripped physique with steel hard muscles and a six pack he has the stamina of a young stallion who really enjoys rough sex. YOWZA!!! Now where can we find men like him!!!
From beginning to end this book had me completely engrossed as Karla tried to prove to Adam that she wasn't a little girl anymore and that the only man she ever loved and will love is him. However, not only does Adam feel that he is too old for her (despite that his body aches for her) he feels that he would be betraying her parents' trust, his loyalty to his dead wife and he truly feels that he cannot offer Karla wants she needs which is love. Due to past trauma in his life he feels that he is incapable of giving someone love (caring, protecting, showing passion yes, but not love) because he has put a wall around his heart and refuses to ever feel vulnerable again.
Eventually Karla manages to break his defenses and engages in a very hot sexual relationship with Adam. On one hand Adam craves for her, but on the other he tries to push her away by setting up a Master/slave (TPE=Total Power Exchange) relationship thinking that it will cause her to run out the door. Little does Adam know that Karla loves him so deeply and completely that she will do anything for him to be with him including total submission. As they engage in the Master/slave relationship Karla discovers she does has a submissive side that she embraces openly which at the same time makes Adam feel completely drawn to her submission to him. Of course things do not go smoothly as the book progresses and obstacles occur which will have you wanting to scream at Adam to give in to his heart.
This book will definitely puts you on an emotional rollercoaster ride where there will be times that you will need a cold shower to cool off from the very hot scenes (my God Adam is such a HOT, ALPHA DOM SEX EXPERT!!!) to grabbing tissues because of both Adam and Karla's heartaches (I wanted so badly to hold Adam in my arms so many times).
The secondary characters were fantastic in adding sustenance to the story with their warmth, care and supportive nature. This book provides a glimpse into Damian and Savi's story which is the next book in the series which I can't wait to read.
There are some surprises in this story which I will not disclose, you will have to read the book to find out, but I truly hope that Kallypso gives us more Adam in the future, maybe another book with him and Karla (please Kallypso we love Adam so much we need more of him, he is the perfect male)! :)

Is it me? It's me the problem?
Am I too old, too out of this league of books of sex and sex and sex and abusive and cruel men and women who love bastards more than themselves? I don't know but I feel discouraged. I cannot understand how a book like this is getting all those enthusiastic comments and so probably the problem it's me.
Let's talk about this story: Adam Montague meets Karla Paxton when he's 41 and she's 16, he saves her a@@ because she ran away from her home with the dream to be a singer but in the bus station a man molests her and Adam rescues her.
So when he takes her at home, her mother helps him and our 16 Karla seems transfigurated seeing Adam without the shirt.
Fast forward, 9 years pass and now Adam is 50 and Karla is 25, he runs a BDSM club and she's in bad shape because her beloved brother is dead. So she goes to him (they corresponded for all the time - a 16 years old girl and a 41 years old man) and after some time she declares to him her love.
But he cannot love anyone, he's widow and he had a slave/master relationship with his wife and to get rid of Karla he proposes to her the same kind of relationship.
And she says yes. Now, we have a young woman never interested in the lifestyle, who decides to enter in a very strict kind of relationship for the love of a man.
And well in the next days we have chains, whips, ropes and all the paraphernalia. She starts from BDSM 1.0 and in some days she's in the advanced class (!)
But it doesn't help because Adam doesn't love her and he calls off from their relationship, so they get back to sex with BDSM but even this is not right for Adam who cannot love her...
Now I wonder why????? Why Karla can't understand that enough is enough? Why Karla can't leave this abusive sh*thead?
Is this really love?
I stopped here because I felt so disconnected from the whole story.
Adam was an a@@ from the very start of their story (corresponding with a 16 years old girl? it's creepy).
She is a woman who hasn't any respect for herself.
And I'm here wondering how this book got 4.33 stars in 10,141 ratings.

I just have to say this series ROCKS! So far, I have loved each book that Kally has written in this series and lose lots of sleep until I am able to finish each one!
This books starts off where Nobody's Angel ended (so please be sure to read the series in order!). Adam is in the hospital after the cougar attack and Karla is keeping vigil at his bedside to make sure that he is okay. Being "nurse" Karla takes a toll on her and she finally decides that it wouldn't hurt if she lies in bed with Adam to get some much needed sleep. Needless to say Adam wasn't happy when he fully awoke because he still sees her as someone too young to be with him. He also feels he isn't good enough for her because he can't love her back the way she should be. From that moment on, Karla declares war on Adam, letting him know that she loves him with everything she is and that age is just a number, but Adam has his own plan of trying to push her away because she deserves someone so much better, and so much younger. Can Adam rid himself of the ghosts of his past before Karla walks out of his life forever? Can Karla make Adam see that she is a grown woman and not some silly naive teenager with a crush?
The heat and sparks fly between these two from the very beginning and keep you hooked on this couple throughout the series thus far. There were some really great smoldering sex scenes and an awesome plot line that I have become accustomed to expecting from one of Kally's books, and let me say she didn't dissapoint me at all! I love how she gives glimpses into the other character's lives and gives a hint of what is to come (even though it leaves us anxious and biting our finger nails) in the series!

After typing the above quote, I sat and stared at my laptop for a good 10 mintues. How can I possibly follow that! So, I'm just going to take another moment, or two...
Ahem. What does it take to bring a Master to his knees...
Nobody's Hero is the third installment of the Rescue Me series. Book 1 blew me away, book 2 was good, I had some minor issues. Nobody's Hero not only gets this series back on track but truly raises the bar. This book flowed much smoother than the previous. A friend of mine who finished before me make a comment "If you think you love Adam now, just wait..." Truer words have never been spoken.Wether it's his filthy mouth, his huge heart, the fact that he sings in the shower and burns cinnamon rolls, or all of the above, I just love this character. Did I mention he went to boot camp in Parris Island, where I was born. Oh! He's also a biter...

I have been waiting to get my hands on this book since reading Ms. Masters first book, Masters At Arms. Adam and Karla stole my heart in that one, and I couldn't wait to read their story in Nobody's Hero. Ms. Masters did not disappoint.
First, if you've not read the first two books in this series, you must do so before reading this one. There are things in the first two books you need to read to fully understand what's going on between these two characters.
I really felt for both Adam and Karla in this book as they worked through their romance. You would think that their age difference of twenty five years would have been enough of an obsticle to overcome, however, poor Adam had more baggage to deal with than even he knew, I think.
My emotions were all over the place on this one. I wanted to slap Adam upside the head more than once when he couldn't see past the nose in front of his face. He is such a great guy, but he doesn't truely see it until fiesty Karla forces him to open his eyes and see what's right in front of him.
This book has lots of twists and turns. It is a rollacoster ride of emotions as Adam and Karla find their way. I loved it, and I can't wait to read it again.

I know I'm going to be in the minority with this review, but here goes. I started this series because of the great character development of the Masters at Arms men. But this one started out seeming to lose its emotional connection to the characters. We went from 0 to BDSM in a big rush and along with it we lost the intensity that this couple evoked. Some of the descriptives used by the author were not up to her usual style and I will leave it at that. BUT....even with the first half of this book being kinda "off" for me, the second half of the book restored my faith in the series. Adam and Karla have always been my favorite since the beginning and their story does not disappoint. Once the emotional journey really kicked in with Damiens family's event, I was reminded why I love the MEN. Karla is the perfect match for Adam, she brings out the protector in him, while still being the brat that will defy him when needed. It's all rather cute, funny, and completely charming watching Adam fall apart because she turns his rigid world upside down. Plus, we get a serious glimpse into Damien's story, and what a teaser it is!

Nobody's hero is another installment in the Rescue Me series. We get to see Adam and Karla's relationship develop. Adam first met Karla as she was running away from home at sixteen. This series obviously isn't for me - the main characters have a significant age gap, that wasn't an issue for me until the author kept bringing it up over and over until I felt a little creeped out on behalf of the pair.
Sometimes in a D/s book I find it hard to connect to the characters because of the dynamic in the bedroom - the author is often required to tell us how the sub is feeling and that they're enjoying themselves as the visual telling of the scene may indicate otherwise.
And this was the case with Nobody's hero - in spite of the author's use of internal dialogues telling me about how hot Adam and Karla were for each other the chemistry just felt forced (haha, pun intended). The sex scenes were flat and overly detailed for my liking, but if you like descriptive scenes including shibari give it a try.
This is the third book in the series by the way, and they're not stand alone - so if you liked the first two you should enjoy this as much (or little) as you did the first two.
Sometimes in a D/s book I find it hard to connect to the characters because of the dynamic in the bedroom - the author is often required to tell us how the sub is feeling and that they're enjoying themselves as the visual telling of the scene may indicate otherwise.
And this was the case with Nobody's hero - in spite of the author's use of internal dialogues telling me about how hot Adam and Karla were for each other the chemistry just felt forced (haha, pun intended). The sex scenes were flat and overly detailed for my liking, but if you like descriptive scenes including shibari give it a try.

Oh my god!!!! This book was so intense!! I have been waiting and waiting to read Adam and Karla's story!!!

4.5 stars for me :)
Master Adam did not disappoint, he was an 'idiot' at times but he finally pulled his head out of his ass! This book was definitely filled with lots of ups and downs, I was exhausted by time I finished reading it. I did find myself skimming again while reading this book, I guess I just didn't see the need to spend 2 or 3 pages describing ....... or re-reading something that had been mentioned once or twice already in the story. But overall another great story by Kally & the teaser for Damian's story actually got me a bit more excited to read his!!

Hunka, hunka hooha! At first glance, one might just see rippling muscle and dangerous sex appeal. But Masters forces you deeper. These battle-scarred war heroes carry emotional burdens that turn pages and wrench hearts. In addition to the psychological nature of these books, there’s enough authentic BDSM play on display to make a dominatrix weep. My only complaint: this self-pub'd author can’t release books fast enough. I'm way too impatient for these books.

Wow! Read this book ages ago but when I saw that Kallypso had new book coming out about Damian I just had to re-read the whole series over again. Think Adam is my favourite. When I read it the first time I thought the age difference was a bit too much but on re-reading it I can see how mature Karla is. Really great book and thank god it is Saturday and no work so that I can check out the new book straight away.
