It all started with a lube mishap, a torrential downpour, and an unwelcome guest in my new condo.

How was I to know that the sexy man I threw my wet bra at wasn’t an intruder?

Leo is my brother’s best friend and an eternal bachelor who makes my blood boil in all the ways it shouldn’t. Sharing a condo? It’s a disaster waiting to happen.

To make matters worse, my best friend, Ethan, moves in too. With his heated looks and possessiveness, I’m starting to realize he might be more than just my best friend.

I’m falling for both men, but with rising tensions between them, how can I possibly choose?

Falling For Them is a spicy MMF ménage romantic comedy standalone where no one chooses.

There was something fun about this book that kept me turning the pages but overall it fell a bit flat for me and didn’t feel the emotional/romantic connection between the characters which then made the spice just ok. It was a fine read. I’ve really liked this author’s other romcoms and the first book in this series and I will read the third but hoping this was just kind of an off one for me. Overall was just about enjoyable enough.

3.5⭐️ yes but not really🙂

some parts of the book were chaotic but not in a good way. for example, it was libby's pov, but she talked about herself in the third person.

there was something that felt wrong with the plot. cite but everything happened way too fast and i had no time to process it. the ending was rushed and overall even though i liked the story, i've definitely read better books that were similar to this one.

This book was a cute and easy read. There is minimal conflict that resolves itself quickly.

I love how the relationships between the MMF developed. Ethan is such a teddy bear, Leo is a misunderstood romantic, and Libby is a lovable, guarded, funny little sister looking for someone to love her.

Definitely a fun read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

This book was okay. There were things I really enjoyed and a bunch I didn’t.

I read book one in this series a long time ago so it took me a bit to remember who all these characters were. Then I realized that Ethan was the receptionist in book one and I was like whoa this character is totally not what I envisioned in the previous book.

The book starts off really strong. It gives comedy straight away. I loved the hilarious back and forth between Libby and Ethan over the train delay. Then right off the back of that we get another funny encounter, this time with nudity between Libby and Leo. After this we get a tension filled encounter between all three of them in a group setting. That was fun. However, it also involved a fourth character…Carson. Carson is a great character. He’s witty and flirty, and he already has an established friendship with Leo. He would have been a great addition to this group, but sadly he gets left by the wayside while the other three explore a poly relationship. I know that Carson is going up be part of the book three harem but it was pretty disappointing that we don’t get him in this group.

With that said, I tend to enjoy why choose romances more when they involve at least four characters. I think the thrupple situation can feel imbalanced. There’s more jealousy between the characters. It feels like there is one main couple who have a tagalong. In this case Ethan and Libby are the main couple who are dating Leo.

Unfortunately, I did not really buy the relationship between Ethan and Libby. We know that Ethan is gay and has never been with a woman or even had the slightest interest in women…until right now with Libby and only Libby. Okay, fine. But Libby and Ethan have been friends for years. Best friends. Neither of them has been romantically attracted to the other until now. Why? I don’t get it. It would make sense if one or both were harboring feelings, but they weren’t. Ethan mentions it multiple times that he doesn’t know where these feelings came from or why they are surfacing now. Libby doesn’t really question her feelings, she’s just like okay here we go. This relationship felt a little forced to me. I thought the attraction between Leo and Libby was very organic and hot hot hot.

Somehow this book felt slow yet rushed. After the first few chapters the book got a little stale. It was basically Ethan hating Leo and Libby being all in her head about her feelings. Things pick back up after about the half way point when they decide to start dating. I enjoyed all of that. However, the dramatic bits felt a bit rushed. I love me some drama, it’s what really pulls me into a story. So it’s always a disappointment when we rush right past it. In this book we get the drama bomb from a tabloid article involving Leo that causes Libby to spiral. She goes from full meltdown mode thinking he’s the worst and needing space to being completely understanding and back on team Leo in only a few short pages. In this time she doesn’t even have a conversation with Leo. It’s all inner dialogue and a short conversation with Ethan. I was like well that was anticlimactic. Then there’s the whole blackmail thing that Leo’s had in the back of his mind the entire book. When he finally tells them about it there is no drama. No drama between his partners (which I didn’t really expect anyways). No drama involving them suing the blackmailers (which totally bummed me out). Lastly, Leo’s parents are the worse and I think it’s ridiculous that they don’t cut them off indefinitely.

Back to things I enjoyed. The smut in this book was great! Loved it! It’s MMF so everyone gets a one on one and then we get multiple group situations. I loved the shifts in the power dynamic. At first when Ethan is with Libby the first time Leo takes control of the scene and helps Ethan get comfortable being with a woman. Then later Ethan is more dominant when the intimacy is MM focused.

Overall, the story was okay but the smut was great!

This book started out strong but fell flat very quickly. I realize that not every book needs to be this in-depth romance with a complicated plot, and sometimes simplicity is nice. But this was a weird mixture of slow and fast paced and it just ended up feeling disingenuous.

Let’s start with the fmc. Her personality shifted so much I couldn’t get a handle on who she even was. Everyone talked about how reserved she was and how hard it was for her to trust others, but she never actually demonstrated that. She had one random nightmare about her past and spilled her guts to Leo within a week of knowing him. That’s not a reserved person. And let’s talk about the fact that she is all of a sudden in love with Ethan , despite NEVER even having thoughts about him being attractive previously?? Or her questioning that he’s gay?

That brings me to Ethan. He suddenly, RANDOMLY, becomes jealous and says he’s in love with Libby? Despite never being attracted to her or other women at all. There was this bi-awakening theme but it was so brushed over it was barely even a plot point.

Leo. He was by far the most interesting hut, yet again, it was poorly executed. He’s supposed to be this big playboy womanizer, yet he had the least personality out of them all. Overall, the biggest issue is that the chemistry between the 3 of them is nonexistent.

OH - and I saw a review that give this 5/5🌶️. I’d give it MAYBE a 3 just because they seem to have sex frequently and some of the later scenes were descriptive. I could see how this could be a 5🌶️ for someone who isn’t well versed in spicy romance, but I found the scenes to be similar to the rest of the story - flat with no chemistry.

ON A GOOD NOTE -
I gave this a 3/5⭐️ because I thought it was a cute, quick read. Obviously I had some complaints, and sure I wish it went more in-depth with the characters, but I think this was meant to be a short and quick read. Oh, and there was some funny banter. That’ll always boost my review.

🗺Ambientación:

Ambientada en Nueva York, en la actualidad.

✒️Narrativa:

Well Libby is just UGH the author has her acting like a bitch or a crying lamo and she is in chaos when Ethan comes to help hasn't been able to get work done cause she is all over the place in inner chaos. I want to push the girl down the stairs. From what I read of her in book one I thought she was going to be a cool character and I am so underwhelmed with her in first quarter. I also dislike again the author has the Fmc so judgmental on people who have money but does not seem like she has any problem with using her brother's money. Then the author has her having 50 tumbler cups is this suppose to be funny? My opinion is she is just a weirdo. Since when does it take a week to get settled into a place. The whole finding her gay best friend is in love with her again she acts like a 15 yr old rather than a women of 26. The idea of because she had reg sex three times and would need to ice her lady parts, seriously I am shaking my head. The sexy times dont come close to book one paige and her men. I did like Ethan and Leo together they seemed to be a good match in and out of the sheets. Why did characters never discuss that this throple is perfect in that while Leo is bisexual Ethan is more of gay guy and this set up will fullfil them all better. I am not a fan of the way author has Ethan fall in love Libby and neither him nor her addressing he has been gay up to this point just so off then Libby and Leo have a date. While it has a HEA the story just never connects in a way that makes sense to me.

Ok I have thoughts. Initial thoughts? Soooo sloooooow, then it like switched to “I’m in love” so rapidly with no true build up in character development. No depth. No true build. I was bored.

I read the first standalone in this collection with Ryker and the other besties and Paige first, and I’m going to be so honest here; I just read the same book just sprinkle in some MM content.

I’m disappointed in that.

Nothing was truly added to the development of these characters. Libby and Rykers childhood? Vague as all out. I get it, they were poor and had a strung out mother, but I thought I was going to get MORE in this one (maybe that’s why the author was so vague in the first book?). But I got the same old stuff. Vague trauma that didn’t seem that bad tbh.

Ethan? He was very feminine in the first book then now he’s this possessive alpha male? Like I got whiplash. I wanted more build into him and Libby’s relationship, but instead I got two moments and one realization and BOOM they’re in love. Let’s be so for real, the entire identity crisis could have been developed so much better.

Leo? He was written just like Luca. Just add some scandal.

This book even had the same sex scenes and dialogue! Ugh. I’m just disappointed is all. This could have been so much better, you know? I feel like it was thrown into the mix just cause.

I read it in full so fine, I’ll give it a 2 star rating. But no more than that!

This book was a bit of a departure for me and a little out of my comfort zone, but I was looking for something different and a bit shorter to read. Unfortunately, I just really didn't like this book. I didn't think the writing was the greatest, and usually, I don't care too much about the writing as long as the story was good, but the story also wasn't my favorite. I did appreciate that it was a really quick read, I read it all in one sitting and I suppose that some of the smutty scenes were enjoyable but I don't think this was a book for me. I don't typically read any sort of why choose or polyamorous books because they don't really appeal to me, but I figured I would give this a try. I think the one thing I didn't mind was that all three of the characters ended up together and that it wasn't a one sided situation where the men were both with the same women but not together themselves so I didn't mind that, I just wish the writing and the story was a bit better. There was also quite a bit of references to characters from a different book, and since I hadn't read that book, I did feel like I was missing out on the references. I mean, at least I tried something a little different, and while I didn't really enjoy it, it was short enough that it wasn't really a waste of time reading it.

Such a great stand alone but not stand alone. Highly recommend reading Stuck on Them by Maya Nicole before this one. It just helps develop the world and general context. Falling for Them is so dramatically messy and comedic that it hits the spot. It’s just the right thing you ordered for dessert 🍨 It’s a nice fun read. It was interesting how the complicated relationships began between the characters with Leo and Libby almost forbidden because best friend’s little sister and all. Libby and Ethan’s friend-zone situation. Leo and Ethan’s beginning one night drunken stand situation. And we see them work through that and how they all come together as a unit. A lot of assumptions that are being broken especially about Leo. And of course spice be spicing. Overall a nice quick read.

this story was decently cute

I haven’t read an MMF story in forever that I almost forgot about the genre. I missed these romances!!

Libby, Ethan and Leo. A very interesting trio.
I kind of felt that the catalyst, that initially sparked Ethan’s attraction to Libby felt, kinda small? Especially if they’ve been best friends for years. I don’t know it just seemed off to me. Libby and Leo, however that made sense. Didn’t feel forced to me. I really appreciated that the author made sure to highlight Leo going on a date with Ethan. Ethan’s skepticism made it seem more realistic considering Leo’s reputation. It was very sweet to watch them get closer. This throuple’s dynamic was one that I kinda had to get used to. I think I’ve just read too many straight romances consecutively lol.

The book is definitely fast paced. Almost a little too fast paced for me liking, I feel that why-choose romances, especially ones where the characters are all involved with each other, need a little more fleshing out. If I have read standalone before this one, I think I would have followed more, with the side stories.

I really do feel that the ending was very rushed. It was way too convenient, in my opinion. If I could give this a 3.5 or 3.75 I would. It was a decent romance.

Spicy mmf erotica. Great characters. Light on the emotional relationship development details. Amusing intro but not comedy gold. Only commenting as this is marketed as a rom-com.

Didn't really feel the romance either as I think it's missing the emotional insight or awareness into the more complex emotional reactions of various personalities. This is especially relevant as to the type of characters described on page. A lot didn't ring true. I thought honest insights or byplay was avoided for plot convenience.

The spice was decent if a little detached from the romance of the moment. The story would quickly move into the bedroom anytime deep emotions started to be explored.

The author used the no communication trope to build conflict. I eye-rolled so hard for the first half of the book. This was more anxiety building than dramatic. In the end this was a fast paced mmf erotica that tried for romance.

This follows the book Stuck on Them and even though this is supposed to be stand alone it felt like I had developed background info on these characters from that book rather from any insight in this one.

Love the push/pull of Libby and Leo. They act like they are enemies, but I think it just hides their attraction. Leo is also not often taken seriously because of his playboy ways. But if all my romance reading has taught me anything, its that it only takes finding the right woman to make them change their ways. :)

I also love the relationship Libby has with Ethan They have some great conversations and there is just this playful back/forth they have. The little photo shoot seems to have been the catalyst to make them see each other as maybe more than friends. It really threw Ethan into a tailspin as he didn't think he was attracted to women, so it really made him question what the heck was going on.

I love Libby's growth through the book. Where normally she would have run and hidden at the first sign of problems, she was willing to sit and talk about them and how they could fix them. It was really nice to see.

I am super excited about Nora's book too. I've never been disappointed by anything from this author. She remains one of my one-click authors :)

While I’m all for a good MfMM story this one was not the one…the story was stunted as well as the characters. The plot was so boring and carbon copy as so many love stories are nowadays. There just wasn’t anything scorching or unique about the sex scenes. It felt like the writer was just writing from point A, point B & Point C. At no point did it change up or get interesting. Ugh. Writers If you’re gonna write THESE type of raunchy stories, PLEASE! STOP forgetting to ADD the damn raunchiness!! We all know why we’re here and y’all are just NOT delivering on either end. And also just cause it’s a romantic comedy doesn’t mean it has to be Romantic Corny! Rom Coms CAN and SHOULD be SPICY AF especially in this genre. But also there was absolutely never at any point in any part of this book anything FUNNY!!! 🤦 It was more a Serious Romance without a lot of seriousness or even romance for that matter. Ugh high hopes fell hella short…spice level 🧂 At best Black Pepper Typa Spice!

A Sweet & Speedy Dive into NYC Romance!

Hey romance readers! I just finished Falling For Them by Maya Nicole, and thought I'd share my thoughts. This is a spicy MMF menage standalone rom-com where the heroine gets both guys, no choosing required! It follows our FMC as she moves back to New York, starts a job working for her brother, and finds herself falling for her new boss (who's also her brother's best friend!) and her college bestie.

I found it a really pleasant read; the plot flowed nicely, and the characters were sweet. It definitely offered a fun, light escape. While I personally wanted just a little more depth to really connect with the characters on a deeper level, it was still a solid story that kept me turning pages.

If you're in the mood for a quick, sweet, and yes, quite spicy (be aware of the MM, MF, and MFM scenes!) romance that doesn't delve too deep below the surface, this is one to check out! It's worth reading, and I'm always excited for more from this author. You can totally enjoy it even if you haven't read her other books.

If you want a throuple book with some personal growth and a lot of spice then I recommend this one.

Ethan & Libby have been best friends forever. There has never been anything romantic between them because Ethan has always been gay, but it turns out there is one woman he does have feelings for…Libby.

Libby is moving to New York to help run a foundation her brother is starting, but she is not so sure about working with her new boss, Leo. The back & forth between them just builds up the tension until neither one of them can fight it anymore.

They all have to face some of their own issues and fears in order to make this relationship work, but when you love someone the way they love each other it’s worth it.

Carter was so helpful and supportive of this trio, so I really hope we see him get a happily ever after!

I want to start off by saying overall I'm glad I didn't DNF, even though I was tempted a few times. I'm glad I stuck with for the little bit of Carter we get. While this was a decent read this book wasn't nearly as good as Stuck on Them. This book was funny, did have some alright feels and the spice was good it still felt a little flat for me. The ending felt a little rushed and parts of the book dragged a little. Libby was just okay, I liked Ethan better in Stuck on Them and Leo really didn't grow on me. The relationship between Libby and Ethan was okay but the addition of Leo didn't feel natural nor forced just meh, to me the three them together felt more fling then forever. I liked Carter over Leo and was disappointed he wasn't their 3rd but I understand he gets Nora so fingers crossed there because I do love a good hockey RH.

Libby quits her teaching job to come to the city to help her brother run a foundation to help underprivileged kids. After a hilarious delay she arrives at her brothers condo drenched from rain and freezing cold. Her impromptu entry way stop down starts a chain of events that’s fun journey to a theouple. I loved the way this relationship evolved. It wants your normal all the guys are friends and a package deal. It’s a sweet romance with very little conflict. I think this could have been a little more angsty to truly make it a five star read but I enjoyed this alot and would love to read see more of the other characters stories. Narrators are amazing and just do so well making what the author wants you to experience while reading come across in the audiobook. Highly recommend them.

Read this if you like:
Friends to lovers
Reverse harem
Forced proximity

The chapter names are one of my favorite things in the book, many of them made me laugh even before starting the chapter. Libby is moving to the big city to run a community center and a foundation to help underserved communities and while she it’s a big step from teacher to foundation leader, she’s up to the challenge. It helps she’s moving into her brothers condo with her best friend, Ethan but is in for a surprise when her brother friend is staying in the condo.

The story is a great blend of Maya’s humor(chapter names!!), references to past book characters that long time readers will enjoy and lots of steamy scenes. Another hit from Maya.

Meh.. This was better than fine, but not quite good.

I wanted to love this after really loving the first book in the series, but this one was just fine. Unfortunately I kept throwing myself out of the story because I kept thinking about what I would do to make this story better. That's.. just not a great way to read a book. This was almost like the outline of a really great book, it just needed MORE to make it that great book.

Anyway.. I also want to mention that you can't read this as a standalone. You'd be missing SO MUCH context. And in a story that already doesn't do well with the emotional connection in the romance.. Missing more context would hurt that even more.

I may or may not read the 3rd book in this series. Heavy on the "may not".

'Falling for Them' is a MMF romantic comedy. That means that all of the characters are together in this hilarious standalone novel. This story was one that hit me hard by having a similar upbringing to that of our main character Libby. Seeing her grow from beginning to send helped me with my own anxieties and to see how I grow as well.

This story has a mix of friends to lovers and enemies to lovers. Leo and Ethan are total opposites attract and I loved seeing them together! The sexual tension between the characters made the house feel like it was on fire! Falling for Them is another amazing novel from Maya Nicole. Bring your tissues, this one is a tear jerker!

Marred by an implausible ending.

I was enjoying this until it got to the resolution of the crisis and all of the antagonists abruptly changed character. It was one of those “Wait, what?” moments.

Yes, I realize the existence of a handsome, fit, altruistic young millionaire is utterly implausible, but you accept that when you love the genre. But these fantasies about powerful men should be true to their story’s inner logic. The ending made me grumpy because all of the sources of conflict dissolved overnight and it felt like the author cheated her own story. She broke the inner logic.

High heat, more than usual for a “why choose” romance. The ⚔️. Scenes are well done.

spicy romcom for the ages

Book 2 in the series; can be read as a standalone.

Libby, Ryker’s (from book 1) sister, moves to the big city to run a charitable organization with the help of Luca, Leo’s (also from book 1) brother. Libby’s BFF Ethan has plans to move in with her, but there’s a hiccup with the construction on Leo’s place and all three of them end up under the same roof for an extended period of time. One thing leads to another…and another…

Best friends to lovers, frenemies to lovers, and brother’s best friend’s brother—MMF—blackmail—spice to the max—groveling—there’s something for everyone within these pages!

Disappointing read. DNF at 56%

I didn't like the female lead. She was too weak and easy.

I didn't like the rich male lead. He acted like an entitled douche who had no control over his sexual impulses (which didn't say anything good about him remaining faithful to anyone!).

I liked the gay male lead when he was a secondary character in 'Stuck on Them' by the same author but did not like him in this book. I get that he was dealing with a lot but his sexism and toxicity were over-the-top.

And I was bored. There was lots of opportunity for some really unique drama filled with meaningful moments but instead it was the same old, same old.

Do not recommend.
