Demonology: The Bond
Nexus was tired of doing the same thing every day, day in, day out. Wake up. Work at the gym. Go home, have a quick meal, sit in front of a show and write. Sure, he wanted things to be more interesting, maybe switch up his gym routine, or get his career as a writer off the ground, but discovering that he shared his heart with a demon was not at all the type of interesting he’d had in mind.
This demon, Nyx, shows up in his life after a near death experience as a cute black cat that packs a lot of power. If that wasn’t enough, it turns out there’s a whole host of demons that want the both of them dead. While the supernatural aspect of his life is heating up, his friend Alekka offers him a once in a lifetime opportunity to have his unpublished novel read by some major bigwigs.
On the one hand, this writing competition could very well be the opportunity he’s been waiting for his whole life. On the other hand, if he isn’t careful, whatever it is lurking in the depths of the night might kill him before he even has a chance to submit his draft. Interesting? Very. Dangerous? Absolutely. Maybe it wasn’t in the outline, but Nexus is finally living a story worth writing about.

DEMON POWER RANGERS. This book is not my typical read, but I am glad I did. This book was enjoyable, the characters likable and the development of the demon bond and Otherworld comes together perfectly. Meet Nexus, an everyday guy, working a menial job at a local gym, barely scraping by and aspiring to be a writer. He meets a black cat, Nyx, who is his demon familiar. Someone bonded them together, but neither of them remember who or why! Join Nexus and Nyx as they meet more hybrids (humans that share bonds with demons) and their demons and they fight side by side against some scary creatures. I believe this will be a series and I hope so, I need to know what happens, who bonded them, and why were they separated for so long before finding each other. Lots of mysteries, good fight scenes and a cast of characters that makes you smile!

I'm geared up for the next book already! This was an amazing read, a hectic and memorable beginning to a series filled with fantastical elements and cute-ass talking animals that could slit my throat. I'm enticed by what seems to be an upcoming power struggle and/or a lot of chaos as Demons threaten to upend the normality of the mortal dimension. This series has it all: the heart, the friendly banter, the action, the heat. I can't wait to see what Locke has in store for his characters, but mainly, Voss is sketchy and secretive and mysterious and I know something huge is coming. The anticipation is making me sweat.

(I would rate this a 4.5 but Goodreads doesn’t give half stars)
This new and exciting adventure lit up my imagination like an epic action packed anime! This story was thrilling and even nail biting at times. The characters also felt so real and relatable. I couldn’t get enough. Anytime I had to put the book down it consumed my thoughts.
My only critiques would be the dialogue felt a little stiff at times, and I do also wish there was more but perhaps that’s the selfish wish in me.
I cannot wait to see what Locke has in store for us next!

Cute cat, sassy ferrets, face gnawing demons, what's not to love?! I started reading and couldn't put it down. Not only is it an enjoyable read, but the author does a great job with pacing and supporting the reader with back story and surprise twists! There are so many intriguing characters introduced, I simply must know how they impact Nexus and his journey through his bond with Nyx. Alekka is a strong female character, and it is easy to tell she will be a force throughout the entire story. Will she also be a love interest?! I will be impatiently waiting to find out!

Such a great read!! The character development and the storytelling was amazing. I would find myself imagining scenarios of what might be. Would love love to see this as a series too! Highly recommend!

I would liken this novel to the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson due to the way the author provides imagery throughout each chapter. Painting a canvas that immerses you into the world.
