I was in the mood for some holiday-inspired horror stories. Tis the season. And I’ve enjoyed Fugazzotto’s stories before. This was a fun, though uneven short collection of stories (4 short stories. 80 pages total). Worth the ebook price. The Thanksgiving story, “Sweetie,” was the best of the bunch. It’s about food. “The Wizard of Liminal Time” felt like a really good Twilight Zone episode. “War With Santa” and “Grampus” were good but felt a bit rushed at the end.
This a collection of short stories all centered around Christmas. I’ve always been amazed when an author can pull off short stories that are able to give you backstories and make you feel for the characters. This one definitely hits that!
This a horror genre book, so keep that in mind if you pick it up. That being said, I’d call it more a psychological horror (there’s not really any “blood and guts”) The stories are page turners and leave you at the edge of your seat when you get to the end.
This was the first book I’ve read by Peter Fugazzotto, and after finishing it, I’m planning on adding more of his books to my TBR 📚
As people we appear to have a relative set of shared instances that swiftly flows to terror. This author has taken a few of these topics and molded them into terrifying shorts. Definitely a sweet read for anyone...in the daytime.😨
None of these stories were scary and none made much sense. All the endings were clipped, with no reasoning behind the scenes. So many little details thrown into the story only for it to go nowhere seems like filler text.
These stories are so not what I expected. I was expecting the Krumpys I, but it was Grampus . Quite a spin on the Christmas story. Each story was frightening in its own way.
