A ruthless vampire. A powerful witch. A healer with a hidden legacy. A searing paranormal romance that proves three hearts can beat as one.Elena, the head of Miami’s vampire cartel, never expected her ex-girlfriend Zuri—a powerful witch—to storm back into her life demanding help with a rival coven. Seeing Zuri again, Elena knows she would do anything for the woman she once shared scorching nights and dark secrets with.
But before Elena can act, betrayal strikes, leaving her wounded and trapped in a human hospital with no memory of her attack. Desperate and vulnerable, Elena clings to Marisol—a nurse with potent healing abilities she barely understands.
Even as mortal danger looms, the sensual tension between Elena, Zuri, and Marisol becomes irresistible. Their lives intertwine in a throuple romance that burns with desire while peril mounts. Together, they confront Elena’s vampire enemies, the danger to Zuri’s coven, and uncover Marisol's hidden lineage.
For Love and Blood and Fury is a heart-pounding, steamy sapphic paranormal romance where the ultimate power lies in the fierce bond of three women who will fight—and love—till the end.
I am an independent author writing about fictional lesbians of all varieties.
My writing journey began with fan faction, and as much as I LOVED being part of a community of super fans, I got tired of working with other people’s characters to tell my stories. I started asking myself: Why should we string together pieces of subtext when our community deserves well-developed main-text about LBGT people and those who love them! So, that is what I aim to deliver.
If you want to know a little more about me personally, J.J. Arias is my pen name. I do have a day job, and due to the industry I’m in, I can’t write under my given name. Although who knows, maybe one day I can write full-time and come out of the … office? I am a Scorpio woman (I know, I know, but I’m a nice one I PROMISE) happily married to a uniquely wonderful Cancer lady. Together we have several fur babies of the feline and canine varieties.
So, here I am, and I hope you enjoy my writing! I’m very open to thoughts, comments, critiques, and knock-knock jokes, so please feel free to message me with any of the above – or anything else you would like to say!
J.J. Arias has done it again—For Love and Blood and Fury is an electrifying sapphic paranormal romance that will leave you utterly spellbound. This book is everything: heart-pounding action, searing chemistry, and a throuple dynamic so perfectly balanced that it feels like destiny itself conspired to bring Elena, Zuri, and Marisol together.
Elena, the fiercely confident head of Miami’s vampire cartel, is the kind of character who owns every room she walks into—except when it comes to Zuri. Their history is tangled with passion, heartbreak, and unspoken longing, and when Zuri storms back into her life, the tension is immediate and intoxicating. Add in Marisol, a compassionate and quietly powerful healer with a lineage that’s more than meets the eye, and the result is a romance that’s as tender as it is scorching.
And oh, the spice! Arias cranks up the heat to absolutely burning, delivering some of the steamiest, most emotionally charged scenes I’ve read in a while. But it’s not just about the fire—there’s depth, devotion, and an undeniable sense of belonging between these three women that makes every moment feel earned. Each of them brings something unique to the relationship: Marisol’s sweetness and quiet strength, Zuri’s unpredictable firecracker energy, and Elena’s fierce, cocky swagger that makes her utterly irresistible. Together, they are magic.
One of the things I adore most about Arias’ writing is her commitment to sapphic love stories without the dreaded third-act breakup. Instead of unnecessary angst for the sake of drama, she gives us complex relationships that face challenges head-on, proving that love—especially a love this powerful—is worth fighting for. And while there’s no painful cliffhanger, the ending leaves just enough intrigue to have me desperate for the next installment.
For Love and Blood and Fury isn’t just another five-star read—it’s a standout, even among Arias’ already stellar collection. Every book she writes somehow manages to raise the bar, and this one? Absolutely nailed it. If you love paranormal romance, sapphic longing, and a love story that sets the page on fire, this is an absolute must-read.
I marked this as age gap because the vampire is like 294 years old. Physically the characters are 27,33, and 38 or something like that. My first ever poly book. It’s definitely not something I would choose to read very often but I didn’t hate it as much as I thought I would. Maybe that because all three were women? 🤷🏼♀️
For Love and Blood and Fury isn’t the first poly romance novel I’ve read, but it’s the first I believe. Told through the points of view of the three main characters, it follows Elena, a many-centuries old vampire; Zuri, the witch that got away; and Marisol, a young nurse with powers she is unaware of until an attempt on Elena’s life brings them together.
All three are strong, independent women, with very different personalities, and they all stand on their own two feet. Together however, they’re more. Together they form a new whole.
J.J. Arias manages the tour de force of making most of the scenes involving the three of them at once super hot and super sweet and tender. If I, at times, wished there’d been more getting to know one another and maybe a tiny bit less sex (sacrilegious, I know), I now hope it will happen in the second book (Blood From the Marrow, announced for release on October 17th). In this one, they’re still in the lust-dominated discovery phase, full of wonder and desire. I loved how Arias wrote the various relationships—Elena/Zuri, Elena/Marisol, Zuri/Marisol, Elena/Marisol/Zuri—and the impact they each have on the others. I can’t wait to see how they develop.
As usual, I focused most of my review on the characters, but spice isn’t the only kind of action happening. As the head of Miami’s vampire cartel, Elena has enemies and competition, and the line between loyalty and betrayal is sometimes thin. Zuri has her own issues with her coven, and Marisol… Well, Marisol finds herself in an identity crisis, and trying to understand who you are while running for your life and having a lot of sex isn’t easy, apparently. But it is exciting.
I enjoyed this book a lot, and am looking forward to reading the next one in October. The audiobook of For Love and Blood and Fury will be released in June, and I plan on refreshing my memory with it before the sequel comes out, though I don’t know if I’ll be able to listen to it in public…
I received a copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of reading anything by J.J. Arias, you’re well aware that she is a master of angst, sharp banter, and tantalizing spice. The connection between these characters is nothing short of ethereal, weaving a spell that captivates the reader, leaving them hungry to know what happens next. These three women—each with a unique and intricate lineage rooted in power, healing, and unapologetic strength—are as compelling as they are complex. Some of the intimate scenes are so intricately crafted that at times, I found myself fully immersed, needing to stay present just to keep track of whose touch was where. Yet, these scenes rank among the spiciest I’ve ever encountered. I’m eagerly anticipating what’s in store for these three powerful women next.
That was honestly amazing! As a monogamous person, I had to open my mind to reading about a throuple and I am so glad I did because this was my favorite read in months! The angst is the best ive read, the spice is on point, loved all three of them but especially Zuri! Its also super funny, i had a BLAST and I cant wait for part two!
A vampire, a witch, and a nurse walk into a bar….. What could go wrong?! Ah, but there’s MORE!! READ. THE. BOOK. Meanwhile...
I must say, I don’t think I’ve ever read a proper throuple-themed story besides Meghan O’Brien’s brilliantly written dystopian polyamorous romance, “The Three,” and that’s because it was from one of my fave authors, as it’s just not my usual genre of choice in lesfic. Unless, as I just alluded to, it’s written by one of my fave authors. Like O’Brien. In this case, it was J.J. Arias. So when I heard her telling Laura Green in an episode of her podcast, “The Sapphic Book Review” last year that she was in the middle of writing her first throuple story in the paranormal genre, I was immediately intrigued especially when it was going to be about a vampire, a witch and....a nurse (?). I love vampires, shape-shifters, witches, the lot. F/F urban fantasy is my jam! So, YAAAS!! Bring it on!! Incidentally, Arias is one of my newly discovered fave authors. What an original artist she is in how she writes and tells her stories. I simply love the flow of her words that’s always grounded and organic. Witty, dramatic, sensual, emotional, weaved so effortlessly into all her characters that you can’t help but want to engage with them. And oh, the banter!! Reading Arias’ books (and listening to them!) usually have me in chuckles especially during the first acts of her stories!
Anyway, back to Arias’ latest story, “For Love and Blood and Fury,” which is the 1st of 2 books in her appropriately named duology, Lilith’s Legacy. Ahh, Lilith. One of my favourite mythologies about the Divine. Yes, I dare call Lilith the Divine, so there! Am I glad to see her return into the fold after appearing in Arias’ “Relinquishing Control,” which instantly lodged its place as one of my fave lesfic stories when I first read/listened to it. I’ve so far listened to it 4X already, yet I still want to listen to it again and again, thanks to Kingsley Rose’s phenomenal performance, who, IMHO, is meant to OWN Arias’ stories and characters with her perfect embodiment of the characters, in this case, the great ice queen, Natalia! If you haven’t listened to it, do it now!
And I digress...
Anyway.... Wait until you discover how Arias constructed her version of Lilith’s mythology into this story because it’s absolutely fantastic! Incidentally, my fave character in this story has much to do with the Divine legend herself, and what an intriguingly curious being Arias has deftly constructed in this particular character! No spoilers. Just one word. BAMBI. 'Nuff said.
But the ending! Ohhhhhh….what have you done, Arias?!?!!? The ENDING!! Aaaarghhh! She really got me there! I did NOT see that coming! In fact, it took me so much by surprise that I involuntarily exclaimed out loud (a rarity when I'm reading, mind you!), "NOOOOOOOO!!!!! Don’t do this to me, Arias!!" Meanwhile, my shocking outburst jolted my poor puppy from his otherwise dreamy nap in a hurry!! Bloody hell! I mean, Arias never did it in any of her books (not like this!) so, obviously, I wasn't expecting it!! Oh, what a crackin' cliffhanger! Bugger me!! Well played, Arias, well played. *slow clap*
Hook. Line. Sinker.
It’s a PERFECT ending to this otherwise captivating and enthralling, not to mention, arousing story that’s so original! I don’t think I’ve come across anything quite like this one in the paranormal world, specifically the vampire-come-witchcraft et al combo! Not to mention, a romance amongst 3 strong-willed, kick-arse, irresistibly insatiable sapphic women, to boot! Each of them possessing a wealth of backstory that Arias meticulously crafted that kept me intrigued all throughout.
“For Love and Blood and Fury” is without a doubt, an enthusiastic MUST-READ, peeps! A supernova of a bewitchingly enthralling, devilishly wild, arousingly sensual PHWOAR of a throuple-led story, not to mention, bloody ORIGINAL, too!!! That's the best, innit?! Arias has indeed outdone herself again, imho! Now, is it October yet??! Hullo, it's Halloween month! Coincidence?! Yeh, the 2nd and final installment, "Blood from the Marrow," is coming out on Oct 17th! Ohhhh...the wait!!
Now, even though the audiobook has yet to be released at this point but with Kingsley Rose’s natural instinct in interpreting Arias’ intent in her stories and characters, I have no qualms believing that her vocal performance in bringing them to life will elevate the story to a whole new level, just like what she’s done with Arias’ other works, thusfar! I simply can't wait for it to come out so I can devour it aurally right away! Until then... I shall reread this book to experience all aspects of this WILD adrenaline rush of a story again, yeh!!
Wow! I absolutely adored this novel. Loved it. Tore through these pages in record time and got very annoyed whenever the world made me put it down for mundane things like sleep or work. This is instantly a new favorite of mine and I recommend it to all.
Warning: it’s a duology, so don’t expect the story to be done at the end of the novel!! Expectation setting: This novel focuses a LOT more on the relationship between the protagonists and a lot less on distractions like “plotline”. It absolutely does cover all the bases and the plot is there, but if you go into this expecting an extensive and thoroughly developed plotline then you might be disappointed. There IS a second half to this story coming though, and I expect that’s going to be where a lot of the plot ended up.
There are a lot of things I loved about this novel. The primary focus was the relationship, as I said, and the author absolutely killed in on that front. This is spicy as hell, and I believe it might have some of my favorite spicy scenes of all the novels I have read (which is…. definitely a few). The relationship dynamics were also just delightful, and I loved these characters together. The worldbuilding that was present in the novel was well done. Not only did the author have a somewhat original spin on the typical supernatural lore but they took the time to include some details that made this “feel real” in a way I find is often overlooked.
As for weaknesses, I suppose the novel has a few. To be honest I was too busy having a great time reading this and I entirely overlooked any weaknesses until I forced myself to sit down afterwards and think about it. As I already said, the plotline was a bit thin and underwhelming. If this was a standalone novel I think I would be disappointed, however I know that this is only half of the story so I am holding off on my final thoughts on that front. At this moment there are several plotlines that are either unresolved or unsatisfying.
If the second novel delivers on what I expect it will, then this duology will secure a spot on my favorite list. If the second novel drops the ball…. then honestly, I might have to come back and knock off a star from this rating. Don’t make me to it JJ!
My Rating: “S” (That’s like 6-Stars) Converted Rating: 5-Stars
I'm usually a sucker for Arias' work, but this one was not it for me. The threesome scenes felt clunky and I was having a hard time picturing whose what was going where. I found myself skimming through the steamy scenes just to get to the actual storyline because that was actually interesting and exciting. For once, I needed less sex and more story. Not sure if I can put myself through the 2nd one since I almost DNF'd this one (I've never DNF'd officially). But we will see.
I was hooked from the very beginning till the end. Anything by J.J. Arias is always an auto-buy for me, and this book was once again proof of why: perfect writing, a throuple between paranormal creatures mixed with a spicy romance. Count me in !
I loved so many aspects of this story. The way paranormal creatures are shown feels unique and different from other books, creating a whole new universe. The powers and abilities are creative and exciting, leaving me eager to discover more.
Elena, Zuri, and Marisol are so lovable in their own ways. The dynamics of their relationship are well-handled, with no one feeling like a third wheel. They communicate healthily, complement each other perfectly, and fiercely support one another. And the spice ? Let’s just say I had to take a hot minute several times because it was that good.
I still have so many theories about where their story could go, as I’m sure more drama will unfold. I’m also grateful there’s no cliffhanger, which makes waiting for Book 2 in October much easier.
Overall, if you enjoy a throuple romance between a vampire, a witch, and a healer with a hidden lineage, filled with mysteries and plenty of spice to keep you on your toes, this book is for you. I’m definitely getting myself a physical copy right away !
Before I say anything else - despite the 3⭐️ rating and some complaints, I did enjoy this book and am excited for book 2.
That said, I think that the pacing and structure was much more suited for a two person PoV / couple rather than a throuple. It was difficult to feel for any of the characters because there didn’t seem to be much depth.
I did like the general idea of and personality of the characters though, but if something were to happen to one of them I wouldn’t feel it in my jellies. I’m a serial sobber when it comes to books because I’m a giant empath, so not feeling much isn’t a good thing.
The world is interesting, plot is interesting, but nothing ever really connects in a satisfying way. I’ve enjoyed all of the contemporary romances I’ve read from this author, so I think that it may come down to lack of experience writing fantasy combined with the difficulty of writing throuples. I’m here for the long haul though and can’t wait to see her evolve as an author.
Spice is a wee bit repetitive, but hot nonetheless. Definitely romance first, plot second, spice where you can shove it kinda book (not a complaint because I’m generally totally okay with this, depending on my mood).
I have to say, I am finding these sapphic "why choose" books very intersting. The emotions are always high, in a good way that makes character develoment very clear. I almost wished the coven of 3 was just Zuri, Marisol and Elena; like that is some crazy power. I am excited to this where this goes. I need more witch involvement and more deeper about the history of Marisol's kind. Because when I saw the Lilith connection, I just knew there could be more.
PS: The spicy was very spicy. Like hallo... this is J.J. Arias.
when i first started reading this i nearly DNFed it because i was unsure if id like the polyamory and i wasn’t really vibing with the book but im so glad i kept going because the three leading ladies in this book are so damn delectable that i want to eat them so that they are permanently inside me.
i do however, reckon this could’ve been one 500-600 page book if we didn’t spend 40% of the last 50% with marisol, zuri, and elena having sex. like go relationship development! but we didn’t need like 40% sex when there was still plot to be explored.
This book absolutely had me in a chokehold! When it wasn’t blowing my mind with incredibly hot 🌶️ scenes it was dragging my heart with the utter love and want dripping from Marisol, Zuri, and Elana. I was 100% not prepared for the ride I got taken on but I still enjoyed every single second of it.
Ahhhh this book 🔥 holy. F***ing s*** this book is amazing. (Bites knuckle) JJ Arias has written a spicy, throuple, paranormal, sapphic romance, and if all those don’t do it for you, you’re missing out.
Spice (I had put my kindle down and stare blankly into space whilst my equilibrium returned) that’s brain meltingly, mind alteringly good, and storyline to match, this book was epic.
Elena, a vampire, head vampire actually, is attacked on her own turf. When she’s taken to a human hospital, she encounters Marisol, a nurse whose natural abilities to heal are more than a bit supernatural. Without her memories and body broken, Elena is in the most vulnerable position she’s ever been in. But something about Marisol draws her in. Zuri, a witch, Elena’s ex but still hung up on her, hears of the attack and sets out to find her. Upon doing so, she too encounters Marisol and is just as enraptured.
With the constant POV shift, you get to explore all of these delicious women from each perspective and it is sinfully wonderful. Their connection is explored perfectly as well as giving us such a clear view of who they are.
The drama, the mystery, intrigue and have I mentioned the spice? It’s all very very good, I do love the way JJ Arias writes and this is no exception. Read this book!
Wow, I completely devoured this book and I’m not the least bit surprised. Arias does it again and brings in such amazing characters that I was fully invested in their story. Did I know I needed a sapphic throuple paranormal romance? No, but I’m so glad I got it. The way Elena, Zuri, and Marisol balance each other and bring out the best is delicious. And the spice!! Can’t wait to see what’s next in their adventure.
This was a fun read. I liked the characters and the throuple romance was well done with a lot of 🔥🔥🔥. Kind of light on plot but I was in it for the romance anyway. 4.5 stars.
This book had me doing the one thing I never thought I'd do. I had to skim through chapters because after almost literally half the book being sex scenes when I was promised vampire/witch/healer intrigue, it just becomes repetitive, no matter how imaginative they become. Part of the problem is that each one has to top the one prior, so it's a never ending escalation. There is very little actual romance, and there is even less action or intrigue happening.
I liked that this was a poly romance, though romance might be a strong word for it. The problem is with all the spicy scenes, the author doesn't leave any time for the development of the emotional connections. There is actually a great scene...it comes completely out of left field and flies in the face of how Marisol acted up until then, but I loved her calling Elena out on treating her like a sex toy and not a romantic partner. This scene is immediately followed by Elena ravishing Marisol...so no, she did not learn her lesson or change. And despite the stink she threw, Marisol doesn't hold her accountable. This is endemic of the entire romance. There is lots of passion, lots of chemistry, but almost no getting to know each other. None of them share with the others about themselves. It's so shallow.
Wow! Just…wow. This was everything I wanted and more. So much plot, action and amazing characters. And that spice!? Holy. Hell. JJ!! 🫠 outstanding. Really really enjoyed all of this! A cliffhanger!? Can’t wait for more!!
Written in third person with 3x POV’s. Vampire/Witch/Healer, Forced Proximity, Poly relationship. Narrated by the amazing Kingsley Rose. 6x spicy scenes.
I was really enjoying it in the beginning but then there was a lot odlf repetition. Way too many sex scenes, it got boring after a while. I liked Zuri but Marisol took sometime to have a personality and Elena is possessive and cannot be serious for more than 2 second. I don't really see anything in the throuple's relationship beyond lust. But it's fine as a quick read to turn your brain off.
Stars: 5 Stars Format: Digital Series: Lilith’s Legacy Book 1 Steam Level: Steamy
I read this for the I Heart Sapphic 2025 Reading Challenge for the prompt Spooky Sapphics.
Oh.
My.
God.
Go read this book! Immediately! Yes, it’s book one of an incomplete series buts it’s just too good to miss out on.
Quick Thoughts: - The world building in this is phenomenal. More you learn about it, the more it all makes logical sense how it’s structured since it is a hidden world - Elena is SUCH an interesting character and has a complexity you don’t see in most vampire characters - Zuri’s talents aren’t something you see often in books and I really enjoyed the magic system here. She’s also as bananas as Elena - Normally a character with Marisol’s traits come off as whiney and too stupid to live but here she is smart, compassionate, and the perfect third for Elena and Zuri - Finding out why Elena and Zuri broke up broke my heart and had me sympathizing for both of them - The sex scenes were delicious and so very hot - I want to know more about the side characters. They were also fun to read about and shinned on page - The poly relationship was both sexy and sweet, and was perfect for all three - No third act break up! - All of them are kick butt in their own specific ways and I loved that - That cliffhanger had me putting the release date for book two in my calendar - I can’t wait to learn more about this world and what’s going on
Overall I ADORED this book and found myself staying up late reading it. I honestly can’t wait for the next book. It is absolutely worth your time and money.
I don’t usually do reviews but I’m obsessed with this book. JJ doesn’t miss, and her books just keep getting better. I knew I was going to regret reading this so fast because the second wasn’t out yet, but apparently I’m a glutton for punishment because I couldn’t stop reading.
I'm an avid sapphic romance reader and I've seen books by JJ Arias many times. For whatever reason I never read anything by them, but this was a great first book. I loved the way the romance developed between the love interests and the uniqueness of each MC's personality. The love scenes were really well done and super spicy. The way the author managed to give all the relevant characters a backstory while pushing the story forward was expert level. Can't wait for the sequel.
So…I was skimming the spice to get to the plot. That’s the rating. I need to stop trying with JJ’s urban fantasy takes cause what in the sookie stackhouse horniness is this? Elana had horny teenage boy energy pretty much at all times though technically she is the oldest at 200+ years old. The other two were a little better but not by much. This story immediately hooked my UF side and I wanted to know more about this world of vampires, witches and “healers”. The characters and their romance though fell flat. I doubt I’ll make it to the second book.
For Love and Blood and Fury opens a new series from J.J. Arias with a vampire, a witch, and nurse who’s healing power is something she didn’t even know to question. I’m coming into this book after finishing Arias’s earlier Dusk Queen series, which I also listened to on audio, and at times the stories felt so similar, especially since they have the same narrator. Elena is the vampire queen and her personality is similar to Lucia from the Dusk Queen series and she also sounded exactly like Lucia with the same narrator. There are other similarities to the story overall, but the biggest difference is that this story involves three women instead of two. I liked all three characters and the way that they interacted together and if you are looking for heated scenes between three powerful women, this is your book.
Unsure how to rate this just because I didn't totally hate this book because it caught my attention right away. I mean we have a vampire, a witch and a possible healer? I'm all in, and while the spice in this was pretty good and steamy. I feel as if we lost the plot early on with the spice overshadowing that which turned me into skipping most of the book after the 60% mark. I really did enjoy the banter between the FMCs, and I'm curious to see how this poly relationship will work out for them in book 2. I def plan on reading book 2 but I'm not rushing to start it.
(4⭐️) Anyone who knows me knows that I love indulging in a J.J. Arias romance. There's no shortage of steam, bloodlust, and touch her and 💀 energy (one of my favorite tropes).
However, there are so many dynamics to explore in a relationship between three people let alone when two are exes and the throuple is comprised of one immortal vampire, one guarded witch, and one girl next door who thought she was a run of the mill nurse until the other two tore into her life like a wrecking ball. So my one complaint is that there is so much more to be unlocked in the emotional dynamics of those relationships and I was left wanting more grounded communication. But I'm excited to see how the relationship and characters evolve in the next book!
This book has such a good representation of a queer throuple that it's getting 5 stars just for it.
The sex scenes are so spicy 🥵 and I loved the background stories. Elena deserved some bits of more flashbacks in my opinion.
Spoiler: This must be the first logical vampire family creation I've read. It makes more sense for women to be the only ones capable of creating other vampires since irl women are in charge of reproduction so why not apply it to paranormal world too?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
had absolutely no clue what to expect going into this but oooomg what a fun read! never thought i’d root for a throuple but lesbianism never fails to surprise me x
so good i immediately went and preordered the sequel
