I finished this book, and I am hooked!
This book is an enemies to lovers black mafia romance that dives deep into the dangerous, tension filled world of rival mafia families.
The fmc is a sassy, sharp, and highly trained assassin, while the mmc is every bit the commanding, dominant mafia boss you’d expect, and together, they spark an intense, magnetic connection that crackles across every page.
Even though she’s set on revenge for her parents’ deaths, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to him, and he, despite all his mistrust, can’t seem to stay away from her. The push and pull between them was a delight to read.
The author’s writing is really good, especially for a genre as challenging as this. It is smooth, confident, and well researched. She didn’t overdo or over explain; instead, she let the story and characters shine naturally.
I haven’t read a mafia romance in a while, but this was such a thrilling reintroduction to the genre, especially one written by a Nigerian author featuring black characters.
The mafia politics, the power plays, the emotional tension, the forbidden attraction, all were beautifully balanced. And that ending…!
The cliffhanger had me dying to get my hands on the second book.
If you love sizzling mafia romance with morally grey characters dripping with tension and danger, this book is for you.
