A fast moving tale of an heroic teams never seem to suffer much more than scrapes and bruises whilst everyone around them dies.
An easy read fast moving through the chapters and whilst far fetched still managed to captivate and retain the readers concentration on the plot. The characters whilst diverse lacked some substance mostly because of the extent and complexity of the planned criminality in the story.
After reading the first book in this series, I didn’t think it could get much better. But I was wrong. A great story that centers around a plot for North Korea to become a feared world power. Once again, Mitchell & team thwart the plan. As I said in my previous review, this is a far fetched story but it sure makes for entertaining reading.
I found the story to be somewhat relevant to today's political situation between the USA, China, and North Korea. But the situation driving the story is rather improbable.
This is an adrenaline-packed ride for those who include reading adventure books as one of their book choices.
Right from the beginning, we're thrown into action, with top secret installations, believable sci-fi weapon technology mixed with concepts of honorable soldiering and thrilling, but believable action. Plus, the inclusion of multiple groups in the mix, apart from the protagonists and the antagonists, makes it an interesting mix.
The research has been done well, the writing of the backdrop and scenes intense, no distracting snafus or bloopers - makes for an ideal fast read, especially for the fans of adventure series like Clive Cussler.
As was the first book, excellent story bad editing
The story is a mix of Clancy, Patterson, and Cussler. Unfortunately the editors cost a star. see the following 1. the last reaming building 2. Jen and Mitchell sat a table 3. flickering on and off in the poorly room
The plot was engaging and multifaceted, and the protagonist, Ryan Mitchell, is interested. But one too many cliches and a rushed editing job left me disappointed.
