I shouldn't fall in love when I've only just found freedom.
I should be in therapy, not making moon eyes at the man who thinks he is my boss.
But hearts never listen to logic.
I only wanted to be part of my great-great-grandchildren's lives. The piece of work who held me captive kept me in line by threatening them. He's dead now, but I still want to protect them. And know them. Love them.
They are so young to have lost their mother. No wonder their father needs a nanny.
It all seemed like a wonderful idea.
Until it wasn't.
He is handsome and kind. Gentle and respectful.
Everything the men who used me in the harem were not.
It's not surprising I'm falling for him.
I can tell myself it's fine. He is my in-law. We are not blood related.
We are both lonely.
I can tell myself a lot of things.
But can I tell him I'm a vampire? His dead wife's great-grandfather? A former trafficking victim?
Or that I live with a collection of paranormal men in a bizarre but beautiful found family? Bound by the trauma we went through together in a billionaire's harem?
The truth is too much, so I need to stay away.
If I can.
Unfettered Vampire is the fifth book in the Found & The Unfettered series, which follows the lives of seven paranormal boys after they escape imprisonment in a billionaire's harem. The books are best read in order but can be enjoyed as standalones. There are no cliffhangers and happily ever after is always guaranteed.
Unfettered Vampire includes,
A vampire nanny & a gentle human boss.
Hurt / Comfort.
Hidden identity.
Lots of angst.
And two messy, broken people stumbling towards love and their hard won HEA.

I'm trying to avoid smut and insta love at the time because I feel so tired of it, so take this review with a grain of salt pls. I was so disappointed with this book, those who follow me know I liked this series a lot and I talked about this series a lot too 😂. But this one... Ironically this was the book I was most excited about, I wanted to know more about Ned and the story seemed so good in the other books, but it was so insta lovie and not in a good way, insta love, insta lust, I wanted character development, Ned was a badass in the other books, in this he was meh, I'm giving two stars because I continue to like a lot of the S. Rodman writing (even if I don't like how this book turned out). I will be reading the next books, maybe I will get better luck.
Ps: in the other books the characters were pretty good and well developed.
Unfettered Vampire by S. Rodman is a captivating addition to the Found & Freed: The Unfettered series, masterfully blending romance, paranormal elements, and deep emotional healing.
Unfettered Vampire is Ned’s story, a vampire (obviously) who starts working for his great granddaughter’s widower, Morgan, as a nanny. His attraction to Morgan is pretty much instantaneous, but Morgan is straight and is off limits. However, Morgan is damaged in his own way, and together he and Ned start to help each other overcome their traumas. Ned and Morgan are both beautifully flawed, and their journey towards love and healing is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming.
Ned and Morgan’s romance is a poignant exploration of trust and vulnerability. Ned, a former trafficking victim, is drawn to Morgan’s kindness and respect—qualities starkly different from the man who once held him captive and the men that used him. Despite the complexities of his hidden identity and his complex trauma, Ned finds solace in Morgan’s presence, and in turn Morgan finds comfort in Ned’s steady personality, his emotional support to him and his children, and his vulnerability. Their relationship is a delicate dance of hurt and comfort, with both characters slowly opening up to each other and finding strength in their connection.
S. Rodman excels at creating complex, relatable characters that keep you hooked from start to finish. The themes of hurt/comfort and hidden identity are handled with sensitivity and depth, making the characters’ struggles and triumphs feel incredibly real. The romance between Ned and Morgan is tender and genuine, providing a perfect balance to the darker elements of the story. The other boys, as always, feature heavily in the story, and we are left with tantalising teases of future stories (sorry, no spoilers!!)
S. Rodman’s writing style is both engaging and evocative. They have a talent for creating vivid, immersive scenes that draw readers into the emotional landscape of their characters. S. Rodman’s prose is clear and expressive, balancing descriptive detail with a smooth narrative flow. The dialogue is natural and heartfelt, enhancing the depth of the characters and their relationships. S. Rodman also skillfully incorporates elements of suspense and tension, keeping readers on the edge of their seats while rooting for Ned and Morgan’s happily ever after.
I would strongly recommend that you read these books in order, in my opinion, they cannot be read as standalones. There is too much backstory knowledge required to move from book to book.
However, reading this series in order is not a hardship, every single story so far is a celebration of survival from the most unimaginable trauma, and finding that special someone who not only loves them for who they are, but helps them heal.
Unfettered Vampire is, so far, my second favourite of the series. Unfettered Omega is likely to always remain my ultimate choice, but I was tossing up between Unfettered Demon and Unfettered Vampire for second choice. In the end, Ned just nudged ahead.
Unfettered Vampire is a story about finding love and strength in the most unexpected places, and it guarantees a happily ever after that will leave you smiling long after you’ve turned the last page.
Unfettered Vampire By S. Rodman Dark Angst Publishing, 2024 Four stars
Part of a multi-part series, each of which centers on a different paranormal character, S. Rodman presents a universe in which humans are generally unaware of the existence of a paranormal world. A group of young men live together and support each other—having survived a harrowing ordeal at the hands of a crazed billionaire.
The quirky premise is that Ned, a century-old vampire who looks 20, gets himself a position as nanny to a grieving 45-year-old widower, Morgan Dowd. The reason he does this is that Morgan’s late wife was in fact Ned’s great-granddaughter, whom he never knew. That historical detail is explained as the story unfolds. It’s a rather fun plot idea, romantically speaking, and Rodman tweaks the vampire lore to suit the situation.
Ned is a reluctant vampire, a natural care-taker, which is not what tradition might suggest. That goes hand in hand with the idea of vampires having descendants, which would attach them to the human world in a very different way. I don’t know why I’ve never seen this before. The freedom of writing fiction is fully engaged by the author, and I liked his characters very much.
This is not the finale of the series, and the ending of the book sets the stage for further adventures.
All the boys were imprisoned in a penthouse by a human billionaire, Ritchie. He had discovered the paranormal world and hunted a collection of seven paranormal boys. A wolf shifter, a vampire, a kelpie, a siren, a demon, a fey, and a human with magic. He named them after different colors and called them ‘Ritchie’s Rainbow.’ Red, Gray, Blue, Pink, Jade, Indigo and Lello.
——
We know Ned/Indigo as the vampire who finally found freedom after years of abuse.
He is an almost ninety-nine-year-old vampire with the looks of a twenty-two-year-old beautiful guy. He finds a job (deliberately) as a nanny/manny and falls for his boss, the older widower Morgan. Ned is instantly attracted to Morgan.
To make it all even more complicated, Morgan is the widower of Ned’s great-granddaughter. Ned is there to protect his last family members. (there’s a story) You understand now that Morgan’s three kids are Ned’s family, his only living family. Morgan doesn’t know Ned is a vampire and related.
It’s all asking for disaster!
There is a lot of pining and yearning, and the tension between them is sky-high. Thank goodness there is a happy ending, I was a bit afraid. Yes, another great addition to this series!
Vampire, nanny, taboo-style attraction, age gap (and bc it stars a vampire, the younger one is actually the much, MUCH older one…!), found family.
This vampire romance sucked me in so hard and I barely looked up before I was finished. It’s in no way perfect but it gave me 5-star Feels. I have to give it 4 stars due to a lot of issues, but, I also went back and bought a bunch of the other books in the series because this one was so addictive. I don’t think all this author’s books are safe for me, but I’m going to seek out those that are. The voice really works for me. The author knows how to immerse you in the first moment and never let you go.
Ned is 99 years old but looks maybe 22. Now that he’s freed and somewhat recovered from the sex-slave harem prison he and his found-family of best friends were kept in for (I’m not sure how long), he’s going to interview for and get the open job as his great-great-grandchildren’s nanny so he can look out for them for the rest of their lives. Ned has terrible guilt because he’s certain something that happened during his enslavement led to his “master” killing his great-granddaughter, and Ned feels it was his fault.
Falling for his great-granddaughter’s grieving widower, Morgan, was NOT supposed to be part of the equation.
The two men have a connection from the start, with that “soulmates meeting” feel, and I ate it UP. Seeing Ned come to care for and love his own descendants and be unable to tell Morgan and the kids who he is, seeing the grieving Morgan (wife/Ned’s great-granddaughter has been dead for maybe one year?) come out of the numbness and See Ned—and, oh, the way they realize they’re REALLY into each other was heartbreakingly hilarious! Ned finds food via Grindr…uh, just read it. It’s a great moment. There’s strong chemistry and great friendship building, but all underscored by UST and pining and forbidden feelings that were entirely addictive. Because Ned can’t tell Morgan who or what he really is, or what he did that caused Morgan’s wife’s death, and if he did, he assumes Morgan would be horrified.
Ned also lives in a home with the other paranormal people who were his fellow slaves and chosen family, all of whom have major issues to work through but who support and adore each other unconditionally. That’s lovely to see.
Issues? Yeeeah. A few. For one, Ned seems to get over his trauma from being sexually abused for...years? I think?...quickly, and I got little sense of what really happened to him (maybe bc this is book 5?). That didn’t make sense and felt irresponsible. He goes from “don’t touch me!” to 100 mph in a matter of weeks. Then, the way the truth about Ned is revealed to Morgan was infuriating and never resolved—it was barely even addressed between the two of them, let alone between Ned and the reason for it, and that was disappointing. I think it’s a loose end meant to be resolved in the next book, but that didn’t work for this one. There’s also an interesting antagonist who starts to create strong conflict but is dealt with in a quick moment and nothing ever comes of it, so the setup didn’t pay off, also unsatisfying and a missed opportunity. It means the book is a lot lower angst than it could have been, and I liked the read very much anyway, but, I felt led down a bit of a (dangerous) garden path in a way that didn’t deliver, which was unfortunate. EDIT: And, I realize, we learn almost nothing about either man's backstory. How did Ned wind up in the harem (the escape is revealed in book 1 I believe), where's Ned from, who turned him/how etc.; who is Morgan, where's he from, what are his interests etc. The characters feel authentic, but aren't fully developed.
There’s also the major issue of Ned being a vampire who can live forever and won’t ever look any older, and Morgan being a human who is physically already twice Ned’s age (45, I think?) that is never addressed in any way as far as their future together goes, which was baffling. How do you not even discuss it? Big oversight.
But, I still loved the read and can’t wait to read more in this world.
HFN (I can’t say HEA, because the future is never discussed!), funny age gap in that the “younger” one is far older, taboo secrets, wonderful found family, addictive reading. No cheating, no others—even if you might fear there might be, I promise, there are not. There is a “feeding from someone else” moment that I didn’t love. But overall, recommended.
My thanks to BookSirens for the ARC; this is my free and impartial opinion.
Ned is a 99 year-old vampire. Having been through wars, being changed, and dealing with vampire politics, he was likely already a grumpy misanthrope before encountering the group of paranormals in S.Rodman’s Found & Freed, the Unfettered series. Like the other unfortunate characters in the series, Ned had his life upended when a billionaire enslaved him to entertain his friends. He was called Indigo while living as a slave as part of “Ritchie’s Rainbow” but he, unlike the others, seems to handle what happened to him with less outwardly observable trauma. In that way, this book could almost be read as a stand alone, although it is much easier to understand his references to his entrapment and the motivations of the supporting characters if you read the other books. It gives context to how Ned is able to tolerate a PollyAnna kelpie like Lello, or how someone with his level of strength could be made to stay under the techbro Ritchie’s control for years.
The billionnaire used Ned’s only living descendants as leverage to keep him under control, staffing his remaining family’s home with those who could kill them at a moment’s notice. We enter the book with Ned believing something he did led to Ritchie killing his great granddaughter Jennifer and leaving her husband Morgan and her three kids on their own. Ned is terrified something will happen to his great-great-grandchildren, so the curmudgeonly vampire applies to be their nanny. It helps that Ned looks like he’s in his early twenties, and describes himself as having the unassuming and slighter physique of a twink.
Morgan, Jennifer’s widow, is still grieving. He is worried about his kids and needs a steady caretaker for them who he can rely on. Enter Ned, a moody, surly Mary Poppins.
Ned and Morgan get to know each other as an employee and his employer. Morgan finds Ned attractive and at certain times thinks he reminds him of his wife. (Not surprising as he’s her several generations ago progenitor). Ned thinks Morgan is attractive at first sight but then berates himself for even having the thought as it’s his great granddaughter’s husband, and Ned feels like his actions were responsible for her death.
Both know they need the other too much to risk any overtures. But both are very acutely alone. Despite Morgan having a successful business we don’t see many friends or other family around. Ned has his found family but other than his Rainbow brotherhood, he has few friends and avoids vampire flights and paranormal council drama as much as he can.
I found the plot to be engaging and both characters sympathetic. Ned’s way of talking to himself and how hard he was on himself reminded me of many conversations with older relatives. Ned knows better, with the wisdom of decades of experience, and really is merciless with himself when he thinks he has screwed up. We feel this in how befuddled he is anytime Morgan or the others of his found family comments on Ned’s finer qualities.
Morgan is a good person, knows himself, and thinks he could be corrupting the “young” nanny with his interest. He bemoans his aching joints and his aging body when considering Ned’s youth. As the twists and turns of the plot bring them closer and Ned’s secrets begin to come to light their connection is tested, and Morgan is forced to reevaluate his beliefs of his world and of Ned.
Morgan and Ned’s sex scenes, once they were connecting with words, were sweet, with them working through Ned’s trauma or dealing with their differences.
Overall, I was glad after five books with Ned as a memorable and consistent supporting character that he finally got his own story.
I received an advance review copy of this book for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This part of the series felt a bit fast in some ways, though it did have the history to back up the speed. The whole story starts just after the harem has been freedom and Ned gets a job as his great-granchildren's nanny to give some context. After that it skips ahead a year, so one full year of slow simmering attraction and it's just about the events that finally tip that over combined with how to introduce the paranormal to the very human Morgan. It did do a good job of building and forming this relationship despite the speed, though it has left some loose threads with the things going on among the boys.
Among the harem boys Ned has always been the most reserved and seemed the least affected by everything that happened. Finally seeing things from his POV it immediately becomes clear that he was affected, both by all that they were forced to do and by the consequences to his living family. Morgan is also grieving the loss of family (not that he realizes it is the same person) so the two of them are able to support each other and truly be there emotionally. This allows Ned to open up in a way that he didn't to anyone else. This openness builds the relationship and really lets it have a strong base for all the craziness that is to come.
The most surprising thing in this book is with Jade. It has been hinted along all books (and with the Fey books it is clear that eventually it happens) that the Fey are trying to come back to the world. In this story they are trying to use Jade, which makes sense with his ancestry. What doesn't make sense is that he betrays Ned, and they all say it was the Fey thar made him do it, but that had nothing to do with portals? It was a weird loose end that hopefully gets cleared up in the rest of the series. Though this was a faster read it was still a great story for one of the harem boys and I can't wait to read the last two books!
So, I got an ARC for this book. And I liked it. It's not a surprise, this author has a very consistent quality and feel to her books. If you've liked one, you'll like them all. I find them quite soothing, comfort books to read when I can't sleep. This one is fifth in a series, and they're best read in order. It's a very mundane tale about a vampire and his human boyfriend. No grand mission to save the world or villain to defeat, just two people who met in a weird situation getting closer. It's not instalove, but the timeskip after the prologue makes it feel like it is. I like the main character, Ned. He's interesting and I enjoyed his chapters. The love interest, Morgan, is a bit bland. Not much of a personality or impression, but he plays of well with Ned. They don't have that much chemistry (I can accept that they like each other after the timeskip, but I'm not quite sure why). He's also not a jerk/domestic abuser like some top characters are, he's just very gentle and nice. I liked the book and plan to keep reading the next ones, but this one is definitely the weakest of the five so far (I blame Morgan) and it feels a bit like it's just a set up for the next two. Specially because whoever has kept up with other S Rodman books knows that , and as that will probably happen during the last book on the series, Jade's book (or maybe during Pink's book and Jade's book will be about the aftermath, I'll be waiting to find out), I don't know, I feel like this is just filling until then. Good filling, enjoyable well written interesting filling, but I personally don't enjoy a story the same if I know how it will end.
This is an interesting concept for a series. I haven’t read the other books in the series, so was a bit unclear on some things, but kept learning more throughout the book so the dynamics and history of the characters did become clearer as this story progressed..
Ned desiring to see and care for his great grandchildren made sense, especially after the imprisonment in the harem and his eventual freedom. He was attracted to Morgan, his granddaughter’s husband, but tried to ignore it, not realizing Morgan was attracted to him, too. But secrets have a way of coming back to bite you, and euphoria can switch to despair in a heartbeat. Will Ned and Morgan be able to overcome the challenges to being together, and what about Morgan’s older age and the whole vampire thing and not aging for Ned? That was one question I had, but not resolved in this book. By the end, I felt life was good for Morgan and Ned and the children, but more a HFN than a HEA scenario. More to come in the next book, which I am sure will impact their story, while revealing more about Pink’s history and his eventual mate.
An unusual series with many threads still getting pulled together, but each character and story interesting in their own right. Looking forward to the next installment, while finding time to read the previous books to get more of the rich background. Not a long read, but an engaging one which held my interest and pulled me into Ned’s world.
I received an advance review copy of the book for free and this is my voluntary review.
Ned went to see his great- great- grandchildren to see how they doing after their mother died and applied for the nanny job. Ned thought that another vampire had cursed the women in his family because they had died young, he got the job taking care of 4,3, and a2 years old children. Morgan thought that Ned was only 20 but the children loved him and thought that Ned dressed funny during the day. Ned lived with the others that had escaped with from a man that had kidnapped and caged them. They were growing closer and having feelings for each other after a date Morgan found out that he was a vampire, Morgan figured out that Ned is a nickname for Edmund they went on a date. Jade another one that been caged with Ned went and told Morgan that he is his dead wife’s ancestor which upset him so he asked Ned why he hadn’t told Morgan about that so he left. Ned quit feeding then they found odd things in Jade’s room so they went to where Grey said Jade was and told the ancient vampire what was happening but Jade kills him. Ned had to connect to Jade’s human side to overcome the fey side puts him to sleep then he passes out no strength left hadn’t been feeling himself. Two of his brothers get Morgan to Ned so he would feed the Ned told Morgan more things after Morgan left so did Ned. He went to find a castle and have a long sleep Grey got him there before Ned did that.
Ned captivated me from the first book and finally being able to delve deeper into his thoughts was wonderful. I love the old guy who is almost trapped in the young body and behaves so wonderfully inappropriately. His story could have filled another book, I'm sure, but you can also continue dreaming on your own. So let's get to the rating. Ned 10/10, Morgan... sweetheart, you're not asking me the right questions and I'd like to give you a good shake. Spoiler alert: If you're going to find out what and why and how it came about, then think a little further! Ned did it for Jennifer. Jeez, there has to be more to you than that. Ned deserves so much more than for you to just casually acknowledge it. I thought that Ned would become one of my favourite books, but RED is still in first place, closely followed by GREY. But then comes NED and I would never dream of ever calling him INDIGO. Oh, and what the hell, JADE! I don't know how he intends to justify or make up for this. I'm all ears, but it's definitely going to take some grovelling. So: a definite read recommendation. Is it the jewel of the series? No. Do we end up loving Ned? Of course, hello? Was there ever any doubt? 4.5 stars.

First, I just want to say that I always enjoy reading books from S. Rodman, and this one has to be my favorite of the series so far. As soon as I started reading, I couldn't seem to put this book down. Ned and Morgan's story was extremely relatable to me as someone who has lost a sibling to suicide, and I could just feel or imagine their emotions, questions, and struggles throughout the story. There was one passage in particular from the second chapter that vividly stood out to me. It said "It’s funny, in a strange way, how people think time heals everything. They expect grief to be this linear process, a journey with stages you move through, and at some point, you're supposed to arrive at the ‘end’ and feel whole again". These two lines somehow manage to perfectly capture the frustration and irritation that people like myself can feel when others think we should just move on or be over it by now.
I was given the chance to read an advanced copy of this book for free and am voluntarily sharing my honest review of it. With that said, this is definitely a book and series that I would highly recommend to everyone. If you like MM romances, paranormal characters, kids, and books without cliffhangers, this one is for you.
Unfettered Vampire is a refreshing take on the vampire trope. It is an exciting venture away from the typical dark, bloodthirsty, and broody vampire fantasy. The simple plot is enhanced with love, passion, fantasy, suspense, and action to keep the reader engaged. A vibrant and witty narrative keeps the story lighthearted and easy to read despite addressing challenging topics. Eloquent and smooth writing, along with well-defined, lovable, mysterious, and charming characters, makes this novel a page-turning and enjoyable read. Ned is a vampire, an old soul in a young body, posing as a nanny for the children of his deceased great-granddaughter, and falling in love with her grieving husband Morgan, a human. Things get complicated when they cannot ignore or resist the attraction they feel for each other. Their path to happiness is a captivating, suspenseful, and emotional journey. Though aligning with Ned’s old-soul persona in his young body took some time, I enjoyed the story. Unfettered Vampire doesn’t aim to deliver dark drama, high angst, intense action or suspense, or deeply complex characters and issues. I recommend it to fans of well-written, smooth, fantasy romance. Though part of the series, it can be read as a standalone.
I loved this book! Ned is such a grumpy guy that you think you won’t end up liking him. But it turns out that Ned was just hiding his soft squishy insides. But his great great grandchildren and later his man, Morgan bring it out of him!
I am a little confused about the timeline though. We know because of another series in this world the author made that the Fey do come back. We even know how because of the Vessel series and what ends up happening thanks to the Fey Lords series. So where in the timeline is this book? I wish that had been cleared up before the book started so I wouldn’t be so disoriented by what’s happening to Jade. And why did Jade betray Ned’s trust? It was hinted that maybe he overheard what Baltazar asked Ned to do but it was never confirmed. While this book is very good and an interesting read, I feel like a lot of things had been left out. With Pink’s book being next and not Jade’s, I feel like it will be a while before I get the answers to those questions and it’s a tad disappointing.
But with that said, everything else about the book was great! Happy Reading!
I really enjoyed this and thought it was a really solid addition to the series.
This one like the rest of the series has a bit of darker themes to it so I'd be aware of the trigger warnings beforehand if it's something you need.
I don't think you need to read the rest of the series to enjoy this, I read the first four in preparation and while I enjoyed them and got more context for some of the things they mention because a lot of this takes place out of the shared house it feels more standalone than the others. I would still personally at least read book one first if you can handle the content inside. If not there is a recap of each book in the series at the beginning.
I love how Ned is a grump but a softy. I wasn't sure how the relationship was going to work but I liked how it turned out.
I'm curious to see how everything is going to play out in the future books and if they're going to have a plan beyond since Ned is a vampire.
Sez is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to continue.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily all opinions are honest and my own
Another great installment in this captivating series. I loved the recap at the beginning of the book. Ned and Morgan are really great men who have each suffered greatly, and their journey will grip your heart and pull all the emotions out of you - in the best way possible! From the moment they meet, there is a definite pull towards one another, but circumstances and secrets manage to keep them from becoming more for over a year. Talk about a slow burn! Throughout that time they have truly gotten to know the core of one another, so when secrets are eventually revealed, there is only a little pause before understanding and genuine love prevail. In addition to this love story, there are more nefarious events unfolding - some that are resolved by the end of this book, and some that are not - but none of that takes away from the truly hard earned and wonderfully sweet HEA. I would definitely recommend this book, as well as the series.
I received an ARC from BookSirens, this is my unbiased, honest opinion.
Yet another riveting episode in this remarkable series. The synopsis at the start of the book was fantastic. Great men who have been through a lot, Ned and Morgan will captivate you with their story and make you feel everything (in the best possible manner)! Even though they feel an immediate attraction to one other, they are unable to fully commit to one another for nearly a year due to hidden agendas and other obstacles. What a gradual buildup! They have spent that much time getting to know each other that when truths are finally exposed, there is barely any pause before understanding and true love take over. Beyond this love story, there are other sinister plots afoot, some of which are addressed before the book's conclusion and others of which remain unresolved; nonetheless, none of these detract from the HEA, which is both well-deserved and incredibly lovely. Both the book and the series are highly recommended.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
‘Cantankerous Ned was a shield I wore in the harem. It was what got me through. But we are not in the harem anymore. I’m free, unfettered, and in love with a wonderful man. A wonderful man, who, for some bizarre reason, seems to have feelings for me in return.’
I adore the poor Rainbow Boys stories that S. Rodman has created for our reading pleasure! Unfettered Vampire is Ned’s story, where he continues to try to make sure his family is safe and well taken care of, even as he struggles in his own feelings.
Morgan is an unexpected treat, having lost his wife, while raising 3 small children. When Ned volunteers to nanny his great, great grandchildren, his heart opens up to the possibility of love with Morgan.
Rodman balances the existing sadness and abuse experiences of these boys with the chance of finding their own special someone who will help them heal and look forward to a wonderful future!
For paranormal romance you can devour in a single sitting, the Unfettered series is the one to reach for. I've loved all of them, but this might be my favourite (after the first - Unfettered Omega - which is a bit different and special, and sets the scene for everything that comes after). Grumpy old vamp Ned has been such a delightfully sullen character throughout the other books, so to see him from the perspective of a human who doesn't have a clue about his lineage, scary powers or dark history and just sees a pretty young twink with hidden depths is utterly adorable. All these books are packed with lovable, flawed characters—humans, parahumans, and magical beings—all figuring out their own way to love. And there’s plenty of steamy romance woven through the story. Definitely read the series in order. Each story holds up on its own, but the timelines overlap and there's an army of side characters, so reading them in sequence gives the full picture.
So, I will start off by saying this was the first book in the series I read and from the backstory we get, I felt like I understood what was mainly going on. But I highly recommend you read the entire series before this one as there's probably a lot more you'd understand, but here we are.
I absolutely loved the instant attraction and chemistry these two had! Ned and Morgan's story was so beautiful and honestly, I'm glad they had little breaks when Ned had to help out a member from the harem, or when Morgan realized who Ned actually was. It felt more... realistic? Although, I'm not gonna lie. I wish Ned had nibbled on Morgan a few more times!
There's quite a few loose plot points here that will continue on with the next story, but these two have a firm HEA. I just wish we got to know if Ned will ever turn Morgan as I can't imagine them being together while Ned watches Morgan and his children pass!
This is the story of Morgan, a human and Ned, a vampire. The story goes deep into Ned's background, like his other friends. The abuse and the processing. Not all friends are coping equally well, but Ned is happy that he has them and that they support each other. Ned is already old, for a young vampire, and he wants to meet his grandchildren. He thinks his daughter was murdered, but that is something that becomes clearer later in the story. Ned clearly has trust issues. He then meets Morgan, he goes to work for him as a nanny for his children. His grandchildren. Morgan is also in the middle of processing his grief over his wife's suicide. The story is exciting to read and it is so nice to meet some familiar faces from the previous books. A fun, enjoyable and exciting reading experience.
Ned wasn't looking for love when he decided to get the job as a nanny to his great- great-grandchildren. He just wanted to be a part of his family after being gone for so long. Time passes differently for vampires and being held a captive wasn't part of his plan.
Morgan, who recently lost his wife, needed a nanny for his three small children. He had no idea why he felt an instant connection with Ned, but it felt right to hire him as the nanny. He has no idea that his entire life is about to change.
Will Ned ever be able to come to terms with the truth of his life? Will Morgan be able to accept everything that Ned is? Only time will tell.

This was definitely different than the other books in this series. I think this one was my least favourite. I won’t lie I read the description the first time and was like WHAT? but then the fifth time it all made sense. It’s a very deceiving summary and not AT ALL what I thought (which is good!! I was very happy it wasn’t going THAT route…) Ned was an adorable vampire and I liked that he just wanted to be close to people after such horrible trauma. And in a way being the nanny was helpful as well to help the family heal. Once I got past my initial shock which was unwarranted, this was pretty enjoyable. It just didn’t really grab me in the way the other stories did. I do like this world though and the other stories are powerful.
Nothing like a neurotic vampire in love...amiright!!?😂😍😍
Deliciously sexy and dangerous. The Unfettered series is exceptional!😘 S. Rodman writes a stunning and detailed universe where sexy, vivid characters grab your soul and never let go. These humans and paranormal creatures exist to wreak havoc on your heart. Ned, our unfettered vampire, is guilt ridden and desperate to keep those he loves safe. And, Morgan, a broken man and father drowning in grief. These two will completely wreck you. They will definitely live in my brain rent free just like the other unfettered for a very long time! I highly recommend this series and I'm looking for link's story coming next! Read them in order!!!😍😁😋
I absolutely love S. Rodman’s books! They’re refreshingly different from your typical sappy romance. Instead of the usual, you get a wild, exciting mix of vampires, feys, demons, and so much more. Honestly, what’s better than that? This is the second book I’ve read in the Unfettered series. I actually started with book 4, so I wasn’t 100% sure what was going on at first, but I quickly caught on. I just downloaded book 1 because now I need to see how it all started. I’m completely hooked and can’t wait to dive even deeper into this world! If you’re looking for something unique and full of supernatural fun, give this series a try. You won’t regret it. While I have enjoyed this series, Ned's story was challenging for me in that it has a forbidden theme. Ned's great-granddaughter's widower is needing a nanny and Ned applies for the job and has chemistry with Morgan. I did enjoyed the story plot of pining for someone you shouldn't have, losing family members, having comfort in found family, the dynamics of the found paranormal family at times were comical. Overall if your into forbidden theme relationship this book is definitely for you. Good plot, goid storyline and you will be captivated from the beginning.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every single book of this series! We have all been waiting for the story of our grouchy vampire! This group of paranormals have gone through hell and back and Ned is no different. Ned has lost every single person who he has loved, but he still has his grandchildren. Without adding any spoilers we have some mild angst and a whole lot of sexual tension between Ned and Morgan. These guys just had my whole heart ♥️. Two men who have suffered loss and found true love in each others arms. Sacrifice, healing, and coming to terms with the truth are all part of this wonderful romance! S. Rodman did it again !
Ned is a vampire who takes a job as a manny for Morgan whose kids are really Ned's great-great-grandchildren. He feels their mother was killed because of his past so he will protect them but also falls for Morgan at the same time. Morgan has to be the most patient, empathetic, compassionate man in the world and truly overcomes every obstacle to love Ned. Ned is not nearly as tough as he always appeared and will do anything for Morgan and the kids. I love this Unfettered series and everyone in the harem truly deserves a HEA. These are Sez's best books next to the "Fey" series, of course, another fabulous series. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.
It’s a good book. Not as much action scenes as the others and less sex. It’s sweeter than I’m used to in this series, but still very good. With that being said, I did miss some things. Like a confrontation between Ned and Jade about the fact that he told Morgan the secret, and more backstory around Baltazar, just to mention some. I’m hoping we get an explanation in the next books. As it is it feels a bit, I don’t know, rushed or shallow. I’ve learned to expect more depth and character development with this author. But I’m not sad I read it and it’s totally worthy of the four stars.
