What the fuck did my eyes just read? You can put all the content warnings you'd like on this book, but unless you spell out that it's the MMCs themselves (ALL OF THEM!!!!) that are repeatedly raping the FMC, the warnings do nothing. And we're given fully detailed scenes where her continual safe words are ignored, her mouth is stuffed, her arms are tied, and she's raped on page over and over in full detail like it's supposed sexy smut or something and it's justified because they want a baby off her that they'll then take away from her. And the male omega who was raped himself at that very facility is the main aggressor and he justifies it because at least she's being treated better by them than he was treated. The fuck!??? You cannot redeem these MMCs. Idgaf that this is how the alpha/omega environment is in this country, you will never sell me on MMCs that are rapists. You will never sell me on rape scenes being sexy "because it's dark romance". There is nothing that will redeem what was done to this FMC and it's clear that the next book will attempt that. I have zero issues with all of these content warnings when they're not trying to be sold as, 1) erotic!!!!, and 2) at all forgivable and something readers want in their MMCs.

Chocolate Scented Captive is a very dark omegaverse novella. Pack Martin's omega wants a baby and since he's a male they have to go to Zoar to breed with a female omega during her heat. Omega 81 just wants to get out of Zoar so hopes this will be successful. They pack comes in and starts the process, when 81, smells another omega she goes crazy as omegas don't like to share. The men force the breeding and then leave after the few days are over. The novella ends on a cliffhanger with 81 going to the doctor to see if the breeding was successful.

If you’re looking for a quick spicy read just in time for Valentine’s Day, this is the book for you. Although it’s my first time diving into the ‘omegaverse’, I could still understand the plot as there was a glossary at the beginning which explained everything.
Before reading you definitely should check the trigger warnings!
This book is not a standalone, it has ended on a cliffhanger, so I’m assuming it’s a part of a dulogy (maybe trilogy)
However this book was quite spicy- mmmf

This is NOT for the faint of heart. Without HEA or even HFN, the fellas are not redeemable here. It will take a miracle if the author decides to try to take it that way for me to forgive them. A million billion pages of grovel. A sacrificial offering maybe. These men will RUE the day!!

Coming in at 12 chapters, as I said above, it does end on a cliffhanger. And trust me, I can't wait to read the next book after this one. Because trust me, Omega 81 deserves her revenge, she deserves her come back, and she deserves to find her own pack, her own family, and her own bliss. I just can't wait to read it.

One thing to remember when reading this: this is the first book. It isn’t a standalone. The story isn’t over. Absolutely, read the trigger warnings because this is very dark and there are some absolutely triggering things. I also found it helpful to read the descriptions of the different places at the beginning so I understood what kind of place this story takes place in. This story takes place in Servus, the continent where omegas have the least freedom and by that, I mean no freedom. There is very little good in this story, but like I said, this is just book one. This is short and very spicy, revolving around one omega’s heat. But there is a lot of no good spicy, having a good amount of dubcon and noncon. With all the darkness in this story, it could be easy to write it off, but it was written well and set up the next book so nicely. I’m ready to see what happens next.
It’s hard to talk about the characters in this book, because there are moments where you love some of them and then the next moment you detest them. You really felt for Omega 81. She has nothing, not even a name. The place where the non-bonded omegas are held, Zoar, is a despicable place where omegas are used and abused. No one knows that better than Pack Martin’s omega, Harry. But Harry was my least favorite. He knows what life is like when you are nothing more than a tool for alphas, yet he disrespects 81 the worst. I am not a fan of anyone from Pack Martin, but I don’t think you are supposed to be. Derek is one that I went from hating, to loving, to confused, to disliking. I will be very interested to see where his character goes in further books. But mostly, I need to see what 81 does and where she goes.

Before you get into this one, don’t just read the tropes, read the content warnings! If this is your first dark read, I’m telling you now, read the content warnings. This is not the book you should read if you’re just starting out. IDK if this is a spoiler but I need you to be aware. This is not a romance. It does not have an HEA.
Ok onto the review! Now the author does warn you about what kind of world this is before you get into it so I had a fairly good idea of what to expect when proceeding. BUT, the male omega’s history is a sad one. We don’t get much on the rest of the alphas of the Pack Martin other than a general overview. That is until they get into the suite (if you could call it that) and that’s when each of their personalities come out. And let’s just say, I had certain expectations from each person in the pack and they did not act the way that I thought they would!
I HOPE the author comes out with more parts to this story! It deserves more! I need the FMC to get her revenge! She doesn’t have to end up with the pack but I need her to have some type of HEA at the end! She deserves love and kindness and protection! This can’t be it, I need to know more!

This novella is super dark and super spicy - we are talking pitch black. There is no HEA and this is definitely not for everyone. Unless you have ZERO triggers, checking the content warning is a must.

OMG!! What a ride this was , I loved reading every dark minute of it. It's a super quick read novella but it's delicious in every way.
Once I started I was not putting it down, I wouldn't even if I tried too. I was fucking engrossed from the start. It's an emotional rollercoaster ride with twists and turns. I instantly fell in love with omega 81
(who I've nicknamed Bella) She's just amazing, but what she's going through is horrendous. He has no life, no say, no name, no choice, just nothing. Fucking heartbreaking. She just wants a better life and a pack off her own. She thinks she might get it but realises it's not going to happen when they bring another omega into her den.
She is trapped in servus in an omega institution and they are auction of like fucking cattle.
Omega 81 needs her revenge and I for one can't wait for it. I need more from it. Ellie give us more. Highly recommend.

This book is really perfect if you want a short omegaverse super smutty read. Omega 81 lives at Zoar which is essentially a breeding house. Pack Martin, well they want a baby. They buy her heat and it is perfect for Valentine's day. I would begin to love some of the Pack member and then get complete whiplash and despise them. I feel in my heart there has to be some good in some of the pack. We don't know yet. This is a quick novella you can read it in one sitting. It will have your emotions all over the place. And I never saw the twist at the end coming, probably even if it had been under a microscope. Because really, the twist has a twist. Such a quick, fun, spicy read.
Total sidenote: her den seemed so comfy, until it was chaos.

Such a dark and twisted omegaverse novella. This is short at 12 chapters and ends on a cliffhanger. I'm excited to see what comes next because this omega deserves her revenge in my mind.

Pack Martin did her dirty, and I really did not want to expect that out of Alpha Derek. He seemed like he had knowledge and a good head on his shoulders, but he proved me wrong.
Let's talk about Pack Martin's already bonded omega, Harry, that they invited into the heat, knowing it would upset the omega in heat. I don't like Harry. I'm sorry, I don't. I understand he's been through some horrible things, but he just expects the omega they are using to get pregnant hasn't been through what he had just because her thinks they're different. Umm, hello, she is sick in the same place you were. Then he took away her right to say no after she used her safeword. He's a POS omega in my mind and will make a horrible father. That's just my opinion on him.
The whole pack needs their butt's kicked. The way they left her after the heat and Derek thinks his gift will make up for it??? Yeah, right, they were all trash in my mind. I really hope this omega serves them a dish best served cold.
Then how could she meet her scent match when she finds out she's pregnant by this loser pack?? I hope her match can find a way to get her out of this situation. I can only imagine what this omega is going to go through once she has to live with Pack Martin. She figured out they want to take her baby from her. I hope they don't, but it does state in the beginning of the book that in this world, omegas don't have rights or are treated fairly.
I need to know what is going to happen next. It isn't fair that I have to wait this long to figure out what will happen with omega 81. I'm all for girl power in this book duet. I hope she gets here and takes them down. Especially Harry the packs omega.

This was a quick, dark, read and I couldn’t rip my eyes from the pages of this novella! In 74 pages, the author made me feel A LOT of feelings.
THOUGHTS 💭
🌹 I appreciate that the author includes a few pages at the front of her omegaverses that explain the “continents,” each with their own attitude towards omegas, as well as the basics of an omegaverse.
🌹 The power plays and the rules on this continent were interesting (and horrific) to read about.
🌹 These alphas are entitled, aggressive, and honestly terrible people.
🌹 This book is D A R K and uncomfortable and please make sure to read your TWs.
🌹 The forced submission and horrible rationalizations are unnerving and sad and enraging.
🌹 The way my jaw dropped in the epilogue!!!!

This was a quick read about an omega. She was an unwilling participant in this place for purchased unbonded omegas. She was omega 81. When it was time for her heat alphas could purchase her for breeding purposes. Pack Martin was the pack for this heat. It had 3 alphas and one omega. They spent 3-4 days together and they were all exhausted by the time it was over. Her and one of the alphas had a connection but they couldn’t act on it because she was essentially a prisoner. The guys all left and when she woke up she was so mad so tore everything up in the room. She went back to her space and 2 weeks later they did a pregnancy test on her and she was pregnant. But the doctor that did the test turns out to be her mate. They made a promise to figure something out. Can’t wait to read the next book that tells what happens next.

Chocolate scented Ellie Exton this is a dark omegaverse short read from chapter one you get right into the spice and Omega 81 has no idea who's pack is going to help her through her heat and she gets more than she Bargains for this was a thrilling ride like I was so invested in this book I'm so mad that is a short read Because I want more of this story this book leaves off on a crazy Cliffhanger I literally want to throw my Kindle on the ground because I want to read more of Ru and I'm just like I can't believe it I love this story it definitely have some trigger warning so definitely look at the trigger warnings but if you like some dark spicy quick to the point omegaverse book definitely check this one out Ellie did an amazing job I highly recommend

Giving 3 stars because I DNF’d through no fault of the author. She deserves all the good reviews and I’m not going to tarnish that with a lower rating. However. This book hurt my tummy. Definitely read the trigger warnings and if you question if you could possibly handle something because it hasn’t bothered you in other books DO NOT PROCEED! This book is very well written and the author is amazing with her descriptions and details but a little too good it seems for my fragile heart. Absolutely no hate to this author because this book is good. Just too real on some parts for me to sit through. I can’t wait for her second book to come out though, I may give it a go.

Omg, where do I start???
The amount of times my kindle almost got thrown across the room was no joke. Be warned, there is NOTHING to like about this pack and I'm unsure how Ellie can bring these 'gentlemen' back to being even close to likeable lol.
This is a fast paced, very spicy omegaverse which is pitch black. Our girl Omega 81 is treated so badly you just want to snuggle her in her nest and throw hands at everyone else. The author does her usual fantastic job with her writing style and pacing and I'm now off for a lie down in a darkened room to calm down 😅

An incredibly spiced well written dark novella, about Omegas that are kept captive and given no rights, except to be helped during their heat. Check your trigger warnings.
We'll see if this pack will have reedeming qualities, I just know that the male Omega, Henry, was not my favorite. Yes, he went through a lot, but he should be more sensible to Omega 81 basically going throught the same things he did.
The cliffhanger was interesting, and I'm so curious to see what happens next.

Excuse me while I take a deep breath! 🥵🥵 Ellie sure did create a hot, spicy omegaverse for sure! Check your trigger warnings! Loved this story!
Nothing like straight cut to spice! Omega 11 got caught up in such a strong, dominate pack for her heat this round. And let me tell you to see/read the passion and emotion behind it was hot! Heads up it does end in a cliffhanger so be prepared for that. I'm biting at the bit for more to the story and see if they in fact do save Omega 11 from the abuse and hell she goes through.

Chocolate Scented Captive is a dark novella from the Holidays in Severus Series.
Please note, this does end in a shocking ending and it is very dark. I'm not sure if there is going to be another book to conclude this story, but if there is then I want something tragic to happen to Harry. Let's just say I'm not sure I've hated a character more than that one. He is literally the worst villain of every book I have ever read.
This is not a light and fun read. There is a lot of dark elements and heartbreak. It was extremely well written, but the story is twisted.

Read the trigger warnings! Pack Martin jumped right in on the dark side and made me hate them, even Derrick!
I was forewarned that this ended on a cliffhanger but I was so mad when I read that last page. I really want more of Rue’s story. I am rooting for her and hope she has her HEA!

I honestly wanted to scream when this novella was done! I mean I was left hanging! That cliff hanger!!! But I will say it was worth every minute reading! I absolutely loved it! I really hope this turns into a full length book because I really loved it!
I really liked these characters it was hard for me to want to finish reading the book lol cause I didn’t want it to end! I need more lol! I am excited for the others in the story though! Can’t wait for more!

Holy HOT Dark Read!!!
Loved every minute of this book. I want more of Pack Martin and I want more from Rue. I hope there will be more about how their lives intercept and more about them on their own. My heart broke for Harry and Rue. I think many will see Harry as particularly bad, evil, even as well as his pack. But I see it a bit differently. Either way, I want more and can’t recommend this read enough. It was AMAZING!!!

I love an omegaverse but this one was a darker omegaverse and I LOVED IT.
The Martin Pack seems to be like part assholes and part hearts of gold. They have bonded with a male omega but want a baby, so they are mating the male omega with a female omega in heat. WHAT THE ACTUAL!? I never thought about male omegas before, and this wasn't just so good.
I'm excited for more of this series!!!
