GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN... AND MAYBE COMMIT A LITTLE MURDER

Best friends Riley and Wren had their whole college experience planned ace their classes (or at least pass them), perfect their Halloween costumes, and absolutely not kill anyone. But when Wren's stalker ex-boyfriend ruins their spooky season with his whole... existing thing, Riley takes matters—and her Jeep—into her own hands.

Oops?

Now they're juggling midterms, matching devil horn headbands, and that pesky little problem of where to hide a body. But hey, at least they've got each other! And face masks. Because proper skincare is important, even when you're disposing of toxic men.

Welcome to The Girlie Pop Murder Club, where the vibes are immaculate, the friendship is forever, and the body count is strictly need-to-know. Think Thelma and Louise meets Mean Girls, but with more murder and better outfits.

Just what happens in the murder club stays in the murder club.

(No boys were harmed in the making of this book... except the ones who deserved it.)

Perfect for fans of Jennifer's Body, Heathers, Legally Blonde, Mean Girls, and anyone who's ever wanted to turn their ex into a true crime podcast episode.

When she's not locked away in her writing cave, cackling maniacally at her own jokes, Ember can be found wrangling her three feral children, who may or may not be the result of a genetic experiment gone wrong. Her husband, bless his heart, has learned to nod and smile politely when Ember starts rambling about her latest literary masterpiece, all while secretly wondering if he married a mad genius or just a plain ol' madwoman.
Ember's writing journey began when she realized that the voices in her head weren't just a sign of impending insanity but rather a goldmine of comedic material. She firmly believes that laughter is the best medicine, unless you're suffering from a broken bone or a severe case of the runs. In those cases, please seek professional medical help.

This was such a fun read! Thank you to Ember and Calliope for the ARC ♡.

This starts as all good m*rders do. An accident. But what comes after is a hilarious journey of two amateur besties ridding the world of trash(abusive men.)

Riley and Wren made me giggle and utter a few cuss words when they did questionable and stupid stuff. Ember and Calliope did such a great job with this story and Im excited to see where they take it next!

Vigilante justice has never been this cvnty ♡.

Girlie Pop Murder Club is a story that starts with an accident.

Then it turns into a full fledged murder extravaganza. Abusive men that die at the hands of two badasses? Yes, please.

The banter between friends is amazing. I was laughing so hard at this entire book. It was brutal, hilarious, and amazing.

Top 5 reads of 2024, easy. 10/10 recommend.

Disclaimer: I am the author's husband. But, contrary to popular belief, I was not coerced into writing this review or reading this book.

Out of the many books my wife has written, this is the first one I've read cover to cover. Don't get me wrong, the other books are good - I know everything about them because I was her sounding board for all of them. But this one just called to me. And I'm glad it did.

She and Calliope have outdone themselves with this book. The dark humor lands perfectly, the witty banter feels natural, and the friendship between Riley and Wren is surprisingly heartwarming for a story about serial killers. This is a book that doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's exactly what makes it work. The chapter headers are one of my favorite parts - I like to read them and try to guess what the next chapter is going to be about, and they always make me laugh. My personal favorite: "Scooby-Don't Get Caught Buying Murder Supplies"

While I might be slightly biased (and legally obligated to support my wife's endeavors), I genuinely enjoyed this quick, entertaining read. It's like if Legally Blonde met Dexter at a true crime convention - weird combination, but somehow it works. Just don't ask me why my wife needed to know the exact depth of our local lake. Some questions are better left unanswered.

4.5/5 stars – only because I told her that no one would believe me if I gave her a perfect rating, but really it’s a five star read.

when pop culture meets vigilante justice with a pop of pink, friendship and humour, we get the girlie pop murder club.

this is a book heavy on murder but also on humour to the point where i'm asking myself if the murders are part of a comedy act or something because it's too normal but also just perfect.

in a world full of bad guys, sometimes we gotta ge the bad ones to survive. i did catch myself thinking if i would ever do something like this and i don't think i could but sometimes is nice to dream about taking justice into our own hands, tbh.

it's a 4.5 ☆ book for me and i'm very grateful for the privilege of reading it before it's out. i kinda reminds me a little of pip and ravi on the last agggtm book, and i loved it and all the "girl power" with a tad bit of unhinged too. i was so scared that they were being sloppy and get caught, even tho that ending was VERYYYYY unexpected.

ps. it's sooooo pretty and aesthetically pleasing, i actually might have to add it to my physical bookshelf when the time comes.

This book has been one of the most enjoyable books I've ever read. It was filled with a mix of dark humor, wonderful friendship, found family, dark and twisty, and fed an insatiable hunger for justice I didn't know that I needed to read till this book.

Not only were the perspectives amazing but it was wonderful to see such diverse characters and wonderful care taken of every detail of the murders
