Shift River

Rate this book
The raging Willowemoc River sets the scene in this fast-paced shifter adventure novel.

Located deep in the Catskills is a compound cut off from the world, and nobody knows this more than Hadley Ellory. She finds herself simultaneously in love with the nature surrounding her, but also rejecting her community’s limited communication with the outside world. The next full moon is Hadley’s last chance to join her people as a shifter, but something tells her that nothing will go as planned.

Hadley is the half-breed daughter of the compound’s leader, Grayson. Her father is a full-blooded shifter, and her mother isn’t. Shift River isn’t too friendly to non-shifters, and Hadley fears that she won’t shift, which will render her an outsider to those she holds dearest.

With all of her relationships hanging in the balance, will Hadley meet the moon and finally join her people as a shifter, or will the full moon bathe Hadley in humanity, and force her to leave her family and friends forever?

With dark forces on the horizon, and her love of a local shifter boy hanging in the balance, Hadley has a lot more to fear than not shifting. Read the story fans of YA paranormal romance are calling, “beautiful,” “mesmerizing,” and “not a typical shifter story, and that kept me turning the pages.”

This book was one of those I really liked it but didn't love it. The beginning was a little slow for me with the telling of the background information and how the shifter group came to be. But I kept reading and was able to warm up to the rest of the storyline and did actually like it. Definitely different than a lot of the other shifter books I've read.
