A family finds time to enjoy time together in the park during a summer day. What was a great family getaway soon turns sour as the family runs for their life from forces beyond their understanding.
This short story would have been a good 4 star read if there were not so many writing errors. They were plentiful to the point where it kept throwing me out of the flow of the story. Which is a reading death to me.
Anytime I have to keep placing a missing letter in a word, or a missing word in a sentence, essentially having to write the story myself as I'm reading it, that's an issue for me. Because I cannot just read and enjoy the story for what it is. Or even get into the story enough to understand it. And this happened A LOT here in this book.
Also:👇👇👇
Example: Charlie and Carlie switched places a few times when Gayle was supposed to be addressing one of them.
Officer Daniels, the proper spelling of his name could not be determined for a good portion of this four chapter book.
Fred, became Frank at some point. Cliff became Clint and Carlie became a Claire... And Fred and Cliff/Clint switched places in a scene.
All of the above served in taking me out of an otherwise interesting and frightening tale.
If this story is edited and all that is mentioned above is corrected, then this would be a solid 4 star read for this brief short story, and it would be worthy of the asking sale price.
Otherwise, if the errors remain, then this should be a free book for those who are not currently on KU.
