The AFib Cure, Updated Edition: Get Off Your Medications, Take Control of Your Health, and Add Years to Your Life

Most doctors will tell you that there isn't much you can do to treat atrial fibrillation, aside from taking medications for the rest of your life.

Cardiologists and a-fib specialists John D. Day and T. Jared Bunch disagree.

Atrial fibrillation strikes one in four American adults. Not only do people suffering from this condition suffer from shortness of breath, fatigue, chest discomfort, decreased ability to exercise and do activities of daily living, arrhythmia, and palpitations, but their risk of a stroke, cognitive decline and dementia, heart failure, or premature death also shoots way up.

Today, a whole new body of research—one most physicians are unaware of—shows that biomarker and lifestyle optimization may put half the cases of atrial fibrillation into remission without drugs or procedures. And for those in whom these remedies are insufficient or not tolerated, new procedures, in combination with biomarker and lifestyle optimization, may offer lifetime remission from atrial fibrillation and its devastating consequences.

In clear, accessible, patient-centric language, Drs. Day and Bunch share their revolutionary approach to treating atrial fibrillation, developed through a combined 53 years working with a-fib patients. The effectiveness of their plan has been proven through countless medical studies. And now, in The AFib Get Off Your Medications, Take Control of Your Health, and Add Years to Your Life, they share that plan with you.

If you're looking for a drug-free solution to your atrial fibrillation, or have a family history of atrial fibrillation and don't want to suffer the same fate, The AFib Cure is for you. Let The AFib Cure show you how to live longer, healthier, free from medications, and free from the fear of atrial fibrillation overshadowing your life.

I’m thankful there is a book discussing alternatives to AFIB pharmaceuticals. The book explains everything about AFIB, so I walked away knowing the typical drugs and procedures that doctors recommend. Then it outlines what you can do to get off or avoid those typical meds and procedures. Thanks to this book I now have a plan and a little hope.

This book is really a pitch for catheter ablation as a cure for AFib, in spite of the title. The non surgical options include a diet plan, which is quite restrictive and which they admit only works half the time, even for people who follow it religiously. You should also have unlimited access to various blood tests to track your “biomarkers”. Again even if you manage to optimize these it there is no guarantee of success for more than half of those who do it.
Of course we should all try to maximize our overall health, especially when dealing with a serious condition such as AFib. I don’t think the fear mongering at the beginning of the book was necessary to get that point across. Yes, AFib is scary, but when treated properly is not the end of the world. I felt sorry for the gentleman who felt the need to wind up his earthly affairs and move to a cabin in the woods after being diagnosed (he is one of their success stories, so he can’t have been that bad off).
I did not find the book that informative about AFib itself. It mostly dwelt on patient stories and anecdotes which I find to be of limited use. And a lot about catheter ablations.

This book offers a clear, encouraging, and practical look at living with atrial fibrillation. I appreciated how it explains a complicated health topic in an accessible way while focusing on lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, and other factors that can support better heart health. The updated edition feels especially useful because it brings the discussion into a current context and gives readers plenty to think about when discussing their options with their healthcare professionals. I found the writing engaging and easy to follow, with helpful ideas that make the subject feel less overwhelming. Rather than simply presenting information, the book encourages readers to take a more active role in understanding their health and making informed decisions. A worthwhile read for anyone affected by AFib or looking to learn more about managing heart health.

Excellent and ver thorough advice on getting as healthy holistically. Written by two electrophysiologists who are refreshingly not promoting the pharmaceuticals industry, but also not dismissing the need for medication when necessary. They provide detailed information in the various medications utilized in managing AFIB as wtt re ll as in the different types of ablation procedures. But the first line of attach is how to eat properly, tracking one’s bio markers, getting proper rest and avoiding stress when possible.

Great timing, great book!

I developed afib completely out of the blue. One moment I was fine. Next moment, something didn’t feel right. Next moment I was in an ambulance racing to ER. Then, 3 cardioversion in 3 weeks. Ablation the obvious next step - but then what?? Dr Day’s encouraging book has shown me a path forward, in good health, thriving - rather than a limited life ahead diminishing every second.

This is a thorough and detailed manual to addressing, accepting and managing A-Fib, written by doctors well-versed in this condition. Gives full description of all the possible treatments available and a logical progression of which ones to consider and their pros and cons. I found it very encouraging as a new patient dealing with the problem and trying to make sense of which direction to take.

Excellent and thorough book. Written in a way that you can understand and not overly descriptive in a medical language.
