This book was unexpected.

I won’t lie, I genuinely started reading this book thinking it would be a hot poly romance without much drama or mystery. Needless to say, it was the opposite.

The story was easy to read and the plot was well executed. It took me a long time to fully enjoy it because I couldn’t grasp their feelings at first, but once the explanation came, it was all worth it.

I enjoyed every character quite a lot. They all had different dynamics and complemented each other in a very heartwarming way. I definitely wish the book was longer or had a sequel because there’s still so much that could be explored.

Overall, it’s a nice found family novel with lots of spice, lovely characters and good writing.

First off, I've never been a fan of a why choose romance. Having said that, I absolutely loved this! Apparently all I needed was an all female why choose cast 😍

I really really enjoyed this! Sometimes when there is several POV’s It can get confusing and this honestly didn’t! It never felt like too much and I quickly got to grips with each character and their unique personalities! This was actually the first sapphic why choose I’ve ever read, and I 100% want more of it! I loved it.
4 vampires and a human? Yes, please!

Written in first person with 5x POV’s. Sapphic why-choose (FFFFF). Plus size rep. Masc rep. Vampire/human. 5x spicy scenes (very good scenes at that! Lots of variety 😈)

I loved this novel, more than I expected too actually. In fact, after discussing this with my book club I had the highest opinion of this novel, so take that as you will. I think this was absolutely delightful, and something about it just worked for me. This was a very easy and quick book to read that flowed well and was easy to follow. My overall experience was that it was a lot of fun, and also clever in just the right ways.

I think this novel had it all. Our protagonist had (smallest spoiler alert lol) multiple relationships on the go in this novel and each one was a little bit different and unique, bringing a lot of variety to the pages. There was a lot of sweetness, and plenty of spice (although less than I expected/wanted). It was like getting an abbreviated version of multiple books for the price of one, but they were also woven together nicely.

In addition to the romance there was also a decent (although simple and short) plotline, which I appreciated as it added some substance to the novel. What I really appreciated though, was the unexpected mystery that was also woven into the story. There is *something* else going on in the background that is subtle at first but slowly takes center stage with a twist that I only somewhat saw coming, but resulted in a surprisingly good payoff in my opinion that really helped this novel to “work”. This part was a clever touch by the author that was used well, and I always appreciate clever!

I liked this novels take on vampires; turns out I think I just like vampires, how basic of me. There were a lot of classic elements used here, with a few little twists. I always appreciate the worldbuilding in books like this where they need to explain how a world filled with vampires works, and I thought this novels approach was neat.

My only complaints of this novel were that it ended too quickly (that’s both complaints, lol). I wish there had been more novel so we could see all of the protagonists doing their thing; because there were so many characters and relationships, we only got to see a small number of scenes between each set of characters, and I think that’s a shame. This novel could have been…..significantly longer without feeling like it was dragging on in the slightest. The ending was also a little bit abrupt, and the plotlines were resolved much easier than I expected to the point it was a little anti-climactic.

These characters … ugh… I just want to give them all a hug. I wouldn’t mind reading separate books following each one specifically. Or even a prequel (would love to meet Cherie).

Except Garrett, fuck Garrett.

Lots of fun and potential, but the pacing was just so off. Five POVs for a relatively simple plot and then an info dump ending at the 90% mark

This is hands down the best sapphic why choose book I have ever read. Bex's writing style, with its multiple first-person POVs, allows you to truly understand and experience each character on a personal level. I loved each character and how different they all are but compliment each other so well! The way she describes and sets her scenes makes it easy to feel as if you’ve slipped into their world and are experiencing it firsthand.

The representation in this book is phenomenal, especially the masc and plus-size representation! Bex did an outstanding job with the ending, delivering a powerful and emotional turn of events that was extremely satisfying but still wanting more! I wish I could read it for the first time again. I highly recommend this book to everyone! Who doesn’t love steamy sapphic vampires in a night club!!

I actually really loved how each member of the coven was protective of Vi in their own unique way—especially since she was the only human in the group. Ren and Dana had me giggling and kicking my feet HARD, and Elsie was absolutely adorable! I adored how curious she was about Vi and how bubbly her personality was. Vi definitely was hilariously dramatic, which honestly made for a pretty fun read. My only real wish is that we’d gotten more scenes with Juniper. She felt a little underused compared to the others, and I would’ve loved to see more of her connection with Vi.

Well, that was interesting. Sapphic polyamorous vampire coven story that is tender, sweet and emotional. Of course there is some spice, but that genuinely feels secondary to the love and romance in the relationships. Excellent representation. I really loved the plot too. An excellent job by @authorbexdeveau 5/5 #sapphicbooks #bookstagram #bookreview #lesbianvampires

This was honestly such a fun read, and there was a perfect plot twist that I didn’t see coming! I needed something fun and spicy in between my heavier fantasy books and this was exactly what I needed. 🫶

Loved

In the world of paranormal, love that lost time only to find it again the second time around. The roads of fates that lead it back around to where it was always meant to be.

i haven’t decided on my stars yet, but i absolutely LOVED this, explode all the different relationships together and separately was so fun and sweet and i love vi, she was so confident and caring for the people she loved. i love the club setting, and them working behind the bar together and the side character outside of the coven added so much to the book. elsie was such a total sweetheart i just wanna give her a hug and hold her tight 😭 ren was such a golden retriever, so sweet and tender but fierce when she needed to be. dana and vis bond was so sweet, the way vi was able to get her to lower her shields and take breaks showed how close they were. juniper and vi saying i love you first was such a good contrast to their relationship and how much slower it seemed to move than the others, but was still just as strong.
THE ENDDDING i kinda knew was coming but not quite in the way i thought, but it was still so satisfying!
i highly recommend this read it was a lot of fun😍

It's shallow, but in a cosy and good way. Many topics get touched, but never in depth. It's a fun book, which could easily be expanded by a third of its size.

i meannn i was hooked from the dedication alone
“for the girliess who really, really wanted Bella to end up with Alice…“ 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

this was so unexpected…the plot twist?! HELLO. my jaw was on the floor. i loved every second of this book. i was hooked and could not put it down. i loved the dynamic between all the characters, they all had different dynamics but they complemented eachother so well. i wish the book was longer, i was craving more.

—Ren & Dana had me giggling and kicking my feet hard. very much dominate, very much sexy.
—Elsie was adorable, i found myself wanting more and more scenes with her. she’s such a lovable, sensitive person. I loved how curious she was about Vi and how bubbly her personality was.
—Vi surprised me. i loved her. she knew what she wanted and went for it and was not shy or nervous about it. she was forward with her feelings and i loved how she teased all of them. when her dominate side came out with that scene with Juniper? hellooooo, i was blushing.
—Juniper ugh i needed more of her 😭 she felt like such a background character compared to the others. every time we had a pov from her or a scene with her i found myself wanting more. i loved her and her attitude.

all in all i want all 5 of them in my bed😏

Multiple 1st Person POV. 5🌟 4🌶️. 403 pages
This was one of my first forays into why choose romance (unless you count ScarletWidow or Lady D Fanfic, which in this case I’m not going to 😅), but I loved this book so much that I immediately went searching for more.

A human bartender and 4 vampire club owners, what’s not to love. There’s a wide range of representation in this book from a plus size MC, pillow princess, stone top, switch, masc and femme rep, POC rep and more. You would assume that a why choose vampire book would be nothing but smut, but Bite Marks is so much more, it’s a heart felt story of falling in love, grieving, over coming trauma and uncovering secrets that could threaten everything!

Honestly give this book a read if you’re in the mood for some spicy and heartfelt vampire fun. Please be aware of some themes that may be triggering and read responsibly.

I picked up this book deciding to give the romance genre a whirl, because who can go wrong with lesbian vampires??

The slow burn (relationships kick off at about 2/3 through the book) didn't feel like it established strong enough characterization. Essentially, everyone was hot and everyone wanted to hook up since page 10 and that was the only note their interactions held. I wish there had been some more dimension to their different relationships and feelings given how long it took for the plot to pick up. This also caused the last arc of the book to feel very rushed and out of place, it was surprising in a way that seemed more confusing than intriguing.

Perhaps this is my lack of familiarity with the genre but the spicy scenes had some...choice phrasing such as: "my p**** clamped" "my dribbling p****" "tweaked her cl**" which to me reads more like carpentry work with all the tweaking and clamping than a romance scene.

Overall, it was a fun concept and execution but it felt like it needed a few more rounds of editing to really make it shine.

Only 40% into the book and I'm unsure I'll finish it.

I picked up this book after seeing it in a queer blog. Lesbian poly vampires sounded exactly up my alley and I was hoping for a light read. Sadly, this is too light for me.
"Medium-burn romance" is not as advertised, more of a "love at first sight" for all love interests and immediately reciprocated. Or rather, "lust" at first sight.
I have gotten more descriptions about the dresses they wear than whatever personality they have. The different POVs all sound very similar and the fact that they are all taken in the same way by the same girl doesn't help differentiate.
The plot is.... barely seen at the 40% mark. Something about finances, I assume. Maybe more plot will show up at some point, but I can't imagine how.
The romance is trying very hard to not happen despite nothing really stopping these characters.

I think it's good that lesbians can have their mediocre smutty books about vampires, they deserve them too. But it's just not for me.

This book was better than I thought it'd be. It had great versatile sex scenes while maintaining an overarching plot. It also had diverse representation and gave the main character a fair amount of time with each love interest. I only wished there were more scenes with only Vi and Juniper since she was introduced the latest into the bunch. I'm a little bias tho since I love plus size representation. Lastly, it's so hard to find a good sapphic poly romance without a man ruining it with his presence. So thank you so much to Deveau for not letting a man be there :) I can't wait to see what she does with this series! Also, lowkey hoping they figure out how to cure that bloodbound sickness.

i started this book not knowing much, but from what the little i knew, i thought i wouldn’t like it. however, i had to change my mind from the very first page i read. it was a really good book that i enjoyed and didn’t loose any pieces of plot as i expected me to do because of the multiple pov.

I really enjoyed this book. I have not dabbled too much into poly romance but I enjoyed how all of the relationships got their moment. Even if there was less page time they all felt equally important. Also lesbian vampire smut is the best!!
