A Simple Lie

Rate this book
A Simple Lie is novella two in the A Simple Game Series. The books must be read in order. Novella one, A Simple Game, is available now!
Saoirse

I’ve always stayed one step ahead, living my life on the edge and playing by my own rules, but I’ve broken one that I never thought I would.

I’m falling for the mark.

Xavier is confident, hard-working, kind and handsome as all hell. And now he knows exactly who I am.

Not even our undeniable attraction can get me out of the hole I’ve dug. I have no choice but to lay all my cards on the table. But can I convince him that this isn’t a game and there’s more to me than all of the lies?

Xavier

The sting of betrayal cuts deep. Every moment I’ve shared with Nyx—Saoirse—has now been shadowed by her deceit.

She tilted my world on its axis; and she was never real at all.

Despite the anger that consumes me, I can’t deny the pull I feel toward her or my instinct to protect her as we prepare for whatever Gage is planning.

Will I be able to move past the lies? And if I do, will my secrets shatter the remnants of what we’ve built?

OMFG I NEEDED BOOK TWO LIKE I NEED AIR 😩

you HAVE to read book one in order to continue with this one or else you’re just going to be super confused !! i absolutely loved this and quite literally couldn’t stop reading until i finished. but when i did i threw my damn ipad and went psycho bc THAT ENDING !!??!

this is a continuation of saoirse and xavier’s story where the truth is unraveled and revenge is in motion. their chemistry is actually insane and i love them so much !! they try to overcome the secrets they hid from each other and rebuild that bridge between them again. no matter what, everything they had together was real and something like that just doesn’t go away over night. i can tell saoirse is realizing that she doesn’t want to live that past life anymore and she just wants to start over with xavier. and he’s completely falling for her. this man cares so deeply for her it makes me want to cry 😭 this man wears his emotions on his sleeves and yet he will always put saoirse first. the way he was still worrying about her safety after everything had me crumbling !!

the tension between them just adds to their chemistry even more. they’re both so filthy and bring out the light in each other. i just can’t get enough of them 🖤 the little plot twists and reveals just ties everything together omg. i am so ready for the next book because i literally need to know what’s happening next !!

“let the games begin.”
fuck me sideways 😭 i’m ready but i don’t think i’m ready

ARC review -

This was an ARC but an interesting one. A Simple Lie follows Xavier and Soairse's possible relationship? If you can call it that. The question lingers in the back of their mind while they attempt to go through the turmoil that Soarise has brought into Xavier's life. Instead of turning away from Soairse's lies and deception, he turns toward her. Unable to fully be upset with her when he has secrets of his own.

Each character wonderfully had their own backstory, allowing room for the reader to discern their own judgements on each character introduced to the story, but the plot beautifully focusing on the main goal. I did not expect the ending though. During the entire story, my interest was peaked and it held my focus. Until the end. Such a beautiful twist that hooks me to read the next part of the series!

This book is EVERYTHING!! This is only the second book I've read from Danielle Sarah and I'm hooked. I didn't think it was possible for this couple to get better than book 1, but I was absolutely wrong. I love them together and the emotional rollercoaster this book took me on. The cliffhanger at the end?? Just stop!! When can I read book 3? I'm ready!!

‘A Simple Lie’ is the second book in the series, but it is also very short, sitting at 93 pages. It follows on from the first book, which is called A Simple Game and will continue when the third book comes out.

The series follows Saoirse, who is in her early to mid twenties and Xavier, who is in his mid forties. When they meet, she is going by Nyx and is only playing Xavier to get money out of him, but lines start blurring and feelings start becoming real.

This felt like a filler in a sense, it ends on a cliffhanger, and if I remember correctly it covers a short period of time. This isn’t to say that it was bad, it held some good character growth and a plot twist that I was adamant on being correct about…which I was. But that doesn’t change my enjoyment when reading this.

Xavier and Saoirse are working through the issues Saoirse ‘Nyx’ brought into his life in the first book, exploring their potential relationship and feelings. Xavier’s emotional intelligence is perfect for Saoirse, he not only thinks about how he feels but also how she feels even through the turmoil she had brought to his life he just can’t seem to hate her.

I need the third book like now!!! I can’t wait to see what happens and how the story continues, thank you to Siena and Luna Literary Management for allowing me and ARC.

This is now available, don’t forget to read book one; ‘A Simple Game’ first.

Quotes I Loved

“You lied to me,” he says, his voice strained and I can't tell whether it’s because he’s revving to go again or because of what I’ve done to him.
“I know,” I breathe out as I lift myself up a bit.
“You used me and I should hate you, but I don’t.”

My little storm

“And are you?
She stares at me in confusion. “Am I what?”
“Falling for me?”
“I… I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?” I stalk towards her. God, I’ve missed her. “What more do you need?”
“I want to hear those exact words coming out of your bratty little mouth.”
“I’m falling for you, Xavier Atwood. Does that make you feel better?”
“It does actually.” I smile, the words a momentary soothing balm.

My hurricane

“Your life was so much simpler before I came and fucked everything up,” I mutter. “I’m sorry.”
He squints at me. “You don’t get it, do you? How much I care about you? Sure, my life may have been simpler, but nobody ever strives for a simple life. I would take every bend on the road to have you hurricane.”

Review of A simple Lie
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

"To those who have been left feeling broken by those who were meant to keep you safe—may you find a love that heals, not hurts."

Danielle Sarah does it again with A Simple Lie, the riveting second installment in the A Simple Game series. This book is an emotional rollercoaster, filled with secrets, twists, and unforgettable moments between Xavier and Saoirse. From the very first page, I was hooked-so much so that I devoured it in one sitting.

Xavier's emotional depth shines in this installment. The way he considers Saoirse's feelings, especially with the symbolic tattoo, melted my heart. It was a beautiful gesture that added layers to their already intense connection. And then there's the scene with Brook and Gage-chef's kiss! That moment confirmed so many of my suspicions and tied together key elements I had been theorizing about.

The cliffhanger ending left me absolutely breathless. Danielle has a talent for leaving readers yearning for more, and now I'm counting down the days until book three. The suspense, the spice, and the emotional stakes make this a must-read. If you loved A Simple Game, you won't be able to put this one down either.

@daniellesarahwrites I need book three yesterday!!!!! Thank Your for the opportunity, I was desperately waiting for this book.

Pre-order now!!! Remember to read A Simple Game before reading this book. You can find it on KU or Amazon.

After Reading A Simple Game, I immediately jumped into my ARC of A Simple Lie.

Book 2 in the Simple Game series, A Simple Lie continues the story of Saoirse and Xavier as they navigate their relationship and unravel the lies each is hiding from the other. Their chemistry is intense as the bridge of trust between the two grows stronger. Danielle Sarah continues to deliver with the tension between the two and it never seems to slow down. Besides the spice - which seems to be taken up a notch in this book - there is a genuine emotional connection that is being built up between Saoirse and Xavier along with an interesting side plot that confirmed a theory that I had since book 1! After the cliffhanger here, I can't want for the next book in the series to arrive!

If you have an hour or so, I would recommend reading both books in the Simple Game series with how quick and well written they are!

Thank you to Danielle Sarah and Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to read and review this amazing ARC!

Thank you Danielle Sarah for the ARC of a Simple Lie. After finishing A Simple Game in one sitting I was hooked. And immediately ran to get started my ARC for A Simple Lie.

The cliff hanger at the end of book 1 had me shook. Especially since Saoirse got mad with Xavier for "lying". That had to be the wildest thing I ever read 😂. And I just had to know she was going to gaslight her way through that.

I love the triple povs, because it allows the reader to get into the head of the antagonist, and builds the suspense. We know what's being planned for the MMC and FMC, and it had me on the edge of my seat waiting for it to play out.

The cliff hanger at the end of this book has me wanting to throw my kindle across the room. And then I kept checking to make sure I was reading it right. April, I have to wait until April 😭.

What to expect:
* Novella
* Billionaire romance with a twist
* Sassy, Black Cat FMC
* Revenge sub-plot
* Insta-lust
* Age Gap (20 years)
* Secrets, secrets, secrets
* D3grad@tion & Daddy Shmink
* Light Bondage & Wax Play
* Multi POV
* Spice

While only about 20 pages shorter than the first book, A Simple Lie is filled with more spice and tension. Saroise thinks Gage is on to her and true feelings. Xavier is concerned and has her stay with him while they try to figure things out. We end on another cliffhanger setting up the next book with questions about what Gage is up to.

A Simple Lie, Book 2 in A Simple Game Series. This series MUST be read in order. Book 1 A Simple Game starts this series off.

Saoirse has always managed to stay one step ahead. She's always lived her life on the edge, played by her own rules. But, she somehow broke one of her rules, one that she never thought she would break.

Saoirse's falling for her mark.

Xavier, he's confident, hard-working, kind, and handsome. And more than that, he knows exactly who and what Saoirse is.

Saoirse is determined that not even their undeniable attraction will get her out of the hole. She dug herself out of the hold she's dug for herself. Saoirse decides to lay all her cards on the table, tell it like it is, and hope for the best. But, can Saoirse convince Xavier she isn't playing games, and there's more to her than all of the lies .

Every moment that Xavier spends with Saoirse, whom he's taken to calling Nyx, he feels her betrayal like the sting of a thousand lashes. But, every moment, it's been shadowed by her lies, her betrayal, her deceit.

Xavier feels like Saoirse has tilted his world, shifted its axis, even though he knows that because of all her lies and deceit, she really wasn't really, at least the Saoirse he knew wasn't really real.

As mad as Xavier is, as all consuming as the anger is, Xavier can't deny the chemistry, the pull her feels towards Saoirse and he can't deny that everything in him is screaming out for him to protect her from what ever Gage is actually planning.

Can Xavier move past the lies? If he can move past the lies, will his own secrets shatter what remains of what they have built?

"To those who have been left feeling broken by those who were meant to keep you safe—may you find a love that heals, not hurts."

Danielle Sarah has done it again with the second installment in her A Simple Game Series title A Simple Lie, a follow up to A Simple Game. And let me tell you, this is an emotional roller-coaster of a novella. It's filled with all kinds of secrets, twists, turns flips, and all kinds of moments between Xavier and Saoirse that you will never be able to forget. From the first page of this novella, I was hooked, and I couldn't put it down.

I loved how the emotional depth Xavier has shone through the pages of this novella. Despite Saoirse and her deceit and lies, he still considered how she felt and what she was thinking. You saw this with the symbolic tattoo. Honestly, that tattoo, it just melted my heart. It was so beautiful, and it just added more layers to an already intense connection. Then you added in the scene with Brook and Gage, which was just so perfect that you couldn't have asked for more. All the key elements just came together, all suspicions came together, and everything you thought and were putting together just clicked. It just came together perfectly. Theories just clicked together, and you were proven right.

And then you have that chef's kiss of a cliffhanger. I have to compare Danielle's cliffhangers to the twist sisters. Her cliffhangers are just as cliffy, and they leave you hanging on for dear life just like the sisters do, and you are left wanting the next book right now. You don't want to have to wait. The suspense, the spice, the emotional stakes, and it all come together to make this novella the perfect quick, fun, suspenseful must-read series. And this novella is a must-read, just like A Simple Game was a must-read.

ARC 15- A SIMPLE LIE
Author- Danielle Sarah
Rating- 4.5 ⭐️
Genre- age gap, dark romance, billionaire, suspense
NOTE- NOVELLA 2 IN SIMPLE GAME SERIES
Trigger warning- mentions of death, explicit content

Blurb:

Plot:
Nyx’s secret is out. Xavier confronts her about being Saoirse and agenda behind hiding her identity. Her truth comes tumbling out- the way she and Gage worked, how he became their next target and the other lies she said. However, the truth remains the same- she decided to give up the game and break away from Gage because Xavier didn’t deserve it, and she was falling for him. What ever little information she told him about her past was true. She even tells him about Gage’s plan and her argument between them.

Xavier, despite being betrayed and hurt, decides to continue their charade to trap and catch Gage. They try to keep their distance, but they fail because they have fallen for each other. They close the distance and decide to catch him.

However, there are three hitches- one being Gage being suspicious about their relation. The second being Harrison, Xavier’s son (because of whom he walked in the bar), plotting Xavier’s downfall. The third hitch being the secrets Xavier has been hiding from her, which he believes will break whatever is between them.
Another discovery Saoirse make’s is that Gage’s father was alive, not dead as he had said earlier.

The novella ends on a cliffhanger with question hanging-
What happens next?
Who is Harrison?
What happens to Gage?
What was the secret Xavier was harbouring?
Do Saoirse and Xavier win the Simple Game they started playing when they first met?

Opinion:
The first novella left us on a cliffhanger. The second novella, this very novella left us on a steeper cliffhanger with several questions hanging in the air. The novella closes, leaving us eagerly waiting for the next novella.
Suspense- Solid as diamond
Spice- is the sun hot? 😏
Tropes nailed?- ✅

A Simple Lie: An Age-Gap Billionaire Romance | Danielle Sarah

🖤🖤🖤🖤/5

Ooh, 93 pages? who doesn’t like them short and spicy? 🔥

A Simple Lie is book 2 in the “Simple Game Series” and I’m treating it like the tasty little palette cleanser between meals and I’m STARVING for book 3.

Saoirse and Xavier's chemistry is off the charts. There are so many special, little things that kept me hooked on this story, from the mooooooney (no price checking here), the nicknames (that I secretly want to be called) and the spice (wax play?!). The tension Danielle Sarah crafts between these two never seems to slow down. We're talking that slow-burn-but-actually-burns-you type of spice. But beyond the steam, there's genuine emotional connection and even a little intrigue, with a side plot I'm dying to explore.

This novella should be in your hands if you love:

🌶️ Spice that'll fog up your reading glasses
💋 Con artists falling for their marks
😍 Age gap romance done right
👀 Revenge subplots that keep you guessing
🔥 Insta-lust that develops into something deeper

Just make sure you read "A Simple Game" first - this series needs to be read in order (it’s on KU right now btw). And since A Simple Lie comes out 1/24/25, you’ve got plenty of time to get caught up. If you need me, I’ll just be over here manifesting book three because A Simple Lie's cliffhanger has me prepping my criminal investigation board. That reminds me, I need to buy more red string…

Thank you to Danielle Sarah and Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to read and review this steamy ARC.

It was only suppose to be a simple game... but for a liar like her falling for her mark was never part of the plan and what started off as a lie begins to feel like the truth as she's swept off her feet by the hot billionaire who is hiding his own secrets. Saoirse is beautiful, a dancer at a club, and has spent most of her tie conning rich men and steal money from them with her partner Gage... yet when Gage gives her a new mark named Xavier she finds herself falling for her mark for the first time. What started off as a con begins to feel very real as Xavier sweeps her off her feet... the only problem is that it's all a lie and when Xavier finds out will he still love her? This is the second book in the series and immediately picks up after the first one with Xavier finding out who Saoirse really is and her admitting everything and trying to get out of the life with Gabe (who is her partner but she's afraid he'd hurt her). Xavier has been searching for his son Harrison and dealing with the truth of Saoirse. He can't let her go but he has to figure out if he can forgive her and how to stop Gage from attacking him. Harrison hates his father and blames him for what happened to his mother and throughout the book he is plotting Xavier's downfall. Xavier and Saoirse work through everything and agree to be with one another, but have to find a way to stop Gage before he destroys Saoirse... I loved the way this book immediately picks up after the first book and it just feels like you're constantly moving through the story. The spice is fantastic and I can't wait for book 3 to see what happens next. I am absolutely invested and sucked into the romance that is happening between Xavier and Saoirse. I would absolutely recommend this book for fans of age gap romances with a bit of twist and turns!!

Fast, spicy, and dangerously addictive. A novella that proves a simple game can lead to anything but simple emotions.

Okay, wow. I went into this one expecting a quick, spicy read — and ended up completely sucked into the danger, tension, and emotional layers tucked between the pages.

A Simple Game is one of those novellas that pulls you in fast and keeps you flipping pages like you’re playing your own risky little game right alongside the characters. I devoured it in one sitting.

Saoirse (aka Nyx) is the kind of heroine I love — smart, confident, and a little morally gray. She plays by her own rules, and watching her go toe-to-toe with Xavier (CEO, powerful, brooding, and carrying a whole lot of pain under that sharp suit) kept me on my toes. Their chemistry? Off the charts. It’s high stakes energy with a side of danger and emotional damage.

Even though it’s a shorter story, Danielle Sarah manages to give it real depth — a mix of seduction, guilt, and unexpected heart that hits just right. And when the twists start unraveling… yeah, even though I saw it coming, I still wasn't prepared. I’ll definitely be finishing the rest of the series soon.

Danielle, you’ve officially made me a fan. 🎲🔥

I swear every time we come back to these two they really do just get hotter and hotter, the tension, the lust and when they do get their hands on eachother 😍😍😍

Note: This book is not a standalone and should be read after Book 1: A Simple Game. This review contains spoilers.

A Simple Lie picks up right where A Simple Game left off, with Nyx (aka Saoirse) discovering that Xavier knows her true identity. Saoirse quickly comes clean, and while Xavier is furious and tells her to leave, he instructs her to keep up the con with Gage to avoid retaliation. But it’s clear Xavier isn’t ready to let go just yet.

Throughout the story, there’s an ominous sense that Xavier isn’t being entirely honest himself. He hints at secrets of his own—ones that make him a bit of a hypocrite for being so angry at Saoirse in the first place. The plot follows their separation and eventual (very steamy) reconciliation, as Xavier begins to face the next steps in his plans: coming clean to Saoirse and reconnecting with his estranged son.

Like the first book, this installment is short and ends on another cliffhanger, leaving you desperate for the next one! I love this serialized format and can’t wait for the next novella to drop.

This book picks up right where book 1 ended but from Xavier's POV. Without giving away anything, things are rocky between Xavier and Saoirse when the book begins. They're both still holding on to some big secrets, but at the same time, they're also letting each other in by opening up.

Saoirse had choices to make, figure out where she stood with Gage and what that would mean for her growing feelings for Xavier. She realizes that this is no longer a game that she wants to play but also has no idea how to reason with Xavier.

Xavier had a lot to unpack after everything he learned, but at the same time, he still can't stop caring about Saorise or deny that this all feels like more and the beginning of something important. There was some back and forth as the two tried to work through the issues while also trying to figure out a solution to their much bigger problems regarding Gage.

Despite the doubts and lies, the spice was still going strong in this one and the two couldn't stay away from each other for long. Definitely loved the spice. I also loveeee how open Saoirse is when asking for what she wants and Xavier alwayssss delivers.

The book again ends on a cliffhanger that again has me so curious to find out what happens next. If that ending is hinting at what I think it is hinting at, then I was right, and now it's going to be one hell of a ride.

Thank you to Danielle Sarah, and Luna Literary for providing me with the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After a simple game I knew I had to find out what happens next to Nyx and Xavier. Danielle you really had to pain me with another cliffhanger huh? BUT- it just makes me more excited for the next book, no complaints here. This little novella had me hooked and trying to figure out what happens next specially with Gage, i definitely recommend as long as you know do read the TW/CWs since this is a bit dark but otherwise happy reading!

🌸What kind of spell did she put on me? I’ve only known her for a short while and yet she has become the entire focus of my world.🌸

🤍“I just wanted to remind everyone here that they might look, but they don’t get to touch. I’ll take that dance to go.”🤍

🌸“F*ck, look at you bound and gagged for me. My very own plaything.”🌸

I had the pleasure of not only reading A simple game as an ARC but have also been allowed the opportunity to read A simple Lie thank you so much lovely!🥹🥰

This is a short novella in a dependent series where you really have to read the whole series to get the full effect. This is book two and I read the first book after having started the second book because I was a bit confused. So warning this is going to give you unfinished vibes because there's more on the way.

This is an easy fast read with elements of suspense and rising tension as the mystery builds and the romance escalates. The characters are all flawed and yet you start to want them to succeed as you get to know them. Although the story is told in dual 1st person POV there are a couple of chapters lead by a third character.
Xavier and Soairse are in a relationship of sorts but they are both keeping secrets. We know hers but not his and there's this element of unknown coming from a third character.

Read if you enjoy a cliffhanger, suspense, quick fast reads, spice, elements of cheating or om drama, and flawed morally grey characters.

I understand this is a novella but mannnn the pain in waiting for the next book?! I think authors are legally allowed to kill their readers - yes - thru a freaking cliffhanger.

Saoirse is my kind of girl, strong and independant. I don’t care if you want to judge her for how she’s surviving and how she got all the money. And sizzle the story up with a billionaire Xavier. I think we haven’t got Xavier in a full action yet as a total badass and I hope he does that in the next book and with more of his past.

I love the spice in this book. With my all time favourite kinks (teehee) it was utterly smutty delicious! Oh, we are gonna be served well with a dose of thriller too I’m sure in the next book.

My only pet peeve is that this is too short for my liking and I just wish that this book is released in a full length instead. Anyways, I can’t wait for the next instalment.

A Simple Lie, the second novella in the A Simple Game series by Danielle Sarah, continues the story of Xavier and Saoirse. This series must be read in order—these novellas are not standalones, as each one builds directly on the last.

I love a good novella and have been devouring this series. However, this installment felt a bit more like a bridge between books. Personally, I think it might have worked better as part of the first or third novella. It took me a little longer to get into this one, and at times it reminded me of New Moon from the Twilight series—with all the longing and emotional distance between the main characters.

That said, the pace does pick up toward the end, and it left me eager to keep following Xavier and Saoirse's journey. Their story has me hooked, and I'm definitely continuing with the series.

Please note: this novella contains some dark themes—be sure to check the trigger warnings before diving in.

What a fun f*ckn ride!!! I devoured book one and couldn't wait to read book two and I was not disappointed in the least. This relationship had me rooting for them even though they maybeee shouldn't have been together... but that is neither here nor there.

I love Saoirse and her sass, her beauty, and the way she has come to her senses about her relationship with Xavier! Xavier is sexy, daddy, billionaire, and has no chance against being with Saoirse. They're just so good together!

The story jumps right in where book one left off and we're thrown into the midst of their bump in the road where truths need to come out. Not only did the story give a bit of suspense but a huge helping of spice!

I'll be counting down the days till the third novella releases in April. Danielle Sarah blew it out of the park!

ARC REVIEW:

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

TROPES/THEMES: Billionaire, Age Gap, Novella, Revenge plot, Multi POV, Secret identities

CW: degradation kink, Daddy kink

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review

This is the 2nd novella in The Simple Game series and it does end on a cliff hanger.

I am becoming more and more invested in this series as the story goes on. I got the first book as an arc and really enjoyed and was looking forward to reading the next book so I was very excited to receive the 2nd book as an arc as well.

I don’t typically like age gap romances but there is just something about Xavier that makes me love him. I really like their dynamic and I love a man obsessed and Xavier is down bad for my girl Saoirse. I love nicknames, so I love every time he calls her hurricane or little storm 🤭

Same as with the first book, I absolutely love whenever Kellen makes an appearance. He is really funny and is just always really entertaining in his scenes. I may even like him more than Xavier 👀 and look forward to seeing him in the next books.

I honestly wish the books were longer because I really enjoy these characters and need more of them, but I am glad we at least get 4 novellas for them. I did see the reveal at the end coming and had actually guessed it after reading book 1 but there were also points where I was doubting if I was right or not and I did still really enjoy the book. There was another cliff hanger at the end of this book, Danielle Sarah loves to make me suffer 😅😂 and now I have to wait another few months for book 3 🫣

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to continue the series and see where the story goes.

Thank you to Danielle Sarah and Luna Literary Management for this ARC

Another short spicy read in this series!! The suspense is killing me and honestly starting to feel a little dragged out. The spice is 11 out of 10. YAAAAS MA'AM.
The story line has me hooked that I want to know what happens next but the fact that it is broken up into different novellas is slightly annoying. Why not just make one book?
I'm really just salty but things are heating up in book 2 and now i have to wait for book 3 to find out what happens.

If you are looking for a short read that is spicy and keeps you guessing, then this is the book for you! Make sure you read book 1 of the series first though because you will be lost. The second book starts right where the first one left off.

I really enjoyed reading this book although i would recommend reading the first in the series before reading this one so that you can properly understand what is going on.
the FMC has a really good character ARC that starts to develop in this book and it is really nice to see her moving away from her past and move on.
the MMC is is very likable as well and i would love to see more of his life in the next book,
the book is multiple POV and I did find myself getting confused trying to keep up with the different characters and the chapters but overall it was okay!
the book ends on a slight cliffhanger but i think it works and I didn't mind it because it is lightly hinted at throughout the book.

overall, I would highly recommend this book and the series to read.

OOH! Things are heating up and getting more suspenseful and incredibly intense. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through, biting my nails with anxiety over what Gage and/or Harrison were going to do next and shocked over the things that do transpire.

Soairse and Xavier’s relationship is on the edge of exploding after certain secrets that come to light. These two make it hard not to love them together and I crossed my fingers hoping that they would work through these devastating secrets.

The spice is once again, sinfully delicious and just chef’s kiss!!!

The twists and turns kept me on edge but that ending OMG! I have no idea how this one is going to play out in book three. Which, by the way, I desperately need NOW!!

I am feeling so grateful I was given the opportunity to read this ARC! I have found another phenomenal author.

Wowzers… this book was fast paced, action packed and has so much suspense and mystery to it. Love, lies and twists that take you on a journey. This is the second book in the series and I loved every single minute spent reading it. This book does end of a cliff hanger however, don’t let that stop you from experiencing it. I think I can dub Danielle the Queen of cliff hangers BTW. She is killing me in the best way possible.

I enjoyed Xavier’s and Saoirse’s chemistry and banter, these two together are just HOT.

I was so sucked into Xavier’s and Saoirse’s story and I cannot wait for it to continue in Novella 3. Novella 3 is coming in April 2025!

This will make you feel every type of emotion. You will go all over the place.

Saoirse really did it for herself, but it’s not what it perceives to be, which is giving Xavier a hard time to trust her. She had her reasons and some that needed to end. Now she has Xavier at her side, but it’s not all that easy.

We all know that even with the lies, he has that undeniable attraction towards her. Strings are still pulling towards each other. They have that chemistry that keeps them together. All he wants to do is give her the protection she deserves regardless of everything that’s happened.

As you read on, you get more clarification. It was done so perfectly.

That cliffhanger, though. I can hardly wait for what else is to come!
