Well…what a beautiful way to kick off the season! Don’t let the cover fool you, this is *not* a sweet novella to ring in some holiday cheer.
Or is it?
I guess if you like your Christmas cookies accompanied by ruthless mafia men and bloodstained snow, then this is as sweet as it can get.
Watch out, Billie Nicks is a new author to enter the scene, and her debut novella, Sweet Silver Belle, packs a serious punch with heavy themes, deliciously dark depravity and GLORIOUS retribution. A blurb can only give you so much, but I will tell you that what I experienced in this book filled my black heart to the brim with satisfaction.
Cue Belle and Dmitri, our hopeless heroine with a martyr complex and our unrelentingly violent and driven anti-hero. These two shouldn’t work, but oh my how they do. He’s the fire to her fuel, and they burrrn, baby. For the short time we get to spend with these two, I fell hard for them both. I hope to see more of them in the future.
And can I just share my appreciation for Nicks’ ability to inject some pitch black humor into the mix at the most inopportune times? This book is just Fun with a capital F.
While this isn’t the first book I’ve read from her (Gold Dust Grimoire coming soon and you NEED IT), Billie Nicks has landed a spot on my list of must-read indies. Please, for the love of all that’s ho-ho-holy, do yourself a favor and dig into this book immediately. Loved it.

Definitely some gory moments but they managed to be cute too… iykyk. We love a creative man.
What’s better than an obsessed, tattooed, big Russian best friend? I fear not much.
As with the best dirty talking russian mmcs, he also has cute foreign language nicknames for her 🙌🏼

This book is everything you want in a stalker, extremely patient, and is never going to let you go, no matter who your husband is.
Dmitri may have been chased away by Belle's now husband and his family, but he will never let Belle go. So he has waited, and he has planned, and he will get her back.
I loved everything about this book!! Belle is such a resilient character, while her husband and his family and friends have treated her horrible for years, she is still strong and not afraid of revenge. Dmitri, oh what a stalker. If you can find a significant other who would go to the lengths that he does for Belle, keep them forever. The elaborate Christmas decorations that Dmiti is able to create for Belle on that Russian mountain top is...rather amazing, if not a smidge gruesome. While a little out of the ordinary, Dmitri goes to great lengths to ensure that Belle has a wonderful Christmas, including chasing her through the snow, only to let her, assist, in the revenge that he has executed so well.
And the spice, the spice is hot. From the first encounter, all the way until the end.

Oh my word, this book was exquisite!
Dark, brooding and unforgivable, this novella was the perfect mix between giggly and deadly. The MC's were fun, or as fun as they could be in a novella such as this, and the author's writing pulled me straight into the story.
I was sitting up in the middle of the night, reading this story with the excitement one carries when watching a musical, and I am not ashamed to admit this Russian protagonist was everything I didn't know I needed.
Definitely a must-read for every dark romance lover.

The book is amazing and i loved it. The writing and the dialogues were too good.
It was lovely in the beginning, then slowly but surely it takes you to the dark, twisted side, and trust me, you'll love the darkness this author served you.
Belle... the girl, oh man, what a freaking beautiful, amazingly perfect FMC... and kudos to author what a f**king change in her character.
Belle and Dmitri was best friends but they knew there is something more to it. But our sweet Belle was with an a**hole Ash, and he deserved what he get.
Life took a sudden but fateful turn in their life and what a.d how, that you have to read. Otherwise I won't be able to stop myself from telling the whole book here.. 🫣🫣
I can imagine her happiness, laughter, and satisfaction when she saw that human-like big star. Iykyk especially those special garlands and Dmi, my man used Pinterest to make those garlands.
(I narrated the whole story to my brother as well 🫣😂)
The side character Mischa, Sofia and Cute pie Alina.. they were so amazing. Mischa has my heart ❤️ 💙 He is so amazing and his brotherly banter with Dmitri and he is the perfect Santa.
The ending of Zayka and Dimi in the woods, and the laughter, was so relaxing.
Can't forget the nicknames our Belle has from our one and only Russian man, Dmitri.

Well WTF just happened!?!
Il tell you what happened Billie Nicks just crash landed into my life with this outstanding debut Novella!! OMG I was knocked off my feet from the very first chapter and I literally didn't want to set it down. I'm not sure how to even begin reviewing this other than to say that you must read it but let's give it a go!
My first note would be to make yourself aware of the Trigger/Content Warnings ⚠️... This book is dark and covers some topic that some may find disturbing. Billie does a great job at explaining all the content and triggers included in the book so have a good read at them before deciding to give this book a go.
Should you decide to read it you will meet and extremely relatable FMC in Belle and a dark, obsessive, possessive serial unaliver in the the delicious MMC Dmitri. You will also meet the horribly abusive, obnoxious, waste of space that is Asher amongst others. All the characters are well developed and each invoked different but equally powerful emotional responses from me.
The storyline was intriguing, captivating and somewhat Unhinged but boy oh boy did I enjoy each and every page... I don't want to give away any spoilers so il say no more about it other than if you are a lover of dark romance then this is one book you DO NOT want to miss out on!!
I cannot wait to see what Billie Nicks comes up with next... look out indie world you are about to be taken by storm!!

You know....there are worse things that could happen than my very hot, tattooed Russian best friend being a Bratva Prince and completely obsessed with me. And when said sexy tattooed Bratva Prince best friend saves me from a toxic/abusive marriage and claims me for his own? Well...he may as well have hung the moon.
I am an absolute sucker for dark men with the touch-her-and-die vibe, and when they give the "I'd give her the world if she asked for it" line, I practically melt into a puddle. Then you add primal to it, a kink very much underrepresented, I think, and I'm a goner! It's things like this that have ruined me for a regular man 😂
I do wish this story was longer, only because I really wanted to see more of Dmitri and Belle's friendship. They're so good together, and I'd have loved to read more about how they got so close and how their friendship developed after they met at the coffee shop. I'm really curious about their time at Harvard also, presuming that Dmitri also went there.

A quickish read, I did a plod read as I was quite engrossed lol It took a real turn about half way through the book and boy, were we a party to some blood and gore 🤭
Dimitri and Belle have been best friends for 3 years, she is a ‘meek, try to please everyone’ girl, he’s the son of a bratva pakhan, and if you’ve read any Russian mafia books you know how they are trained. It’s the classic, they are in love with each other but it doesn’t show its face until one Christmas party. They’ve attended with Belle’s controlling boyfriend, a few things happen then she hears her boyfriend with another woman and seeks a shoulder to cry on, Dimitri. Of course, they suddenly declare their attraction…it all spirals from this point to our two MMCs being apart for 5 years.
It isn’t without Dimitri, plotting and planning unbeknownst to Belle, it all comes to light one Christmas trip to Russia with her now abusive husband and his equally disparaging family. Dimitri’s plan falls into place and let’s just say with tongue in cheek the Christmas decorations are something to behold 😈
It does have an HEA for our MMCs, not so much anyone else 🤣 Loved the build up as it was paced brilliantly for me, the love he had for her was 💋 a fantastic dark Christmas read. Do read the trigger warnings.

Well merry Christmas and happy new year to ME! I saw this book on Instagram while looking for a smutty holiday novella and this book delivered everything I was wanting and more. The spicy scenes were so good I probably need to go change my panties. The characters were well written, the plot was fast paced and perfect. I also am literally smarter after reading it (how often can you say that after finishing a smut book?!) since I learned some Russian. Chert voz’mi Billie Nicks, thanks for the perfect Christmas read, dyetka! Huge fan and five steamy stars!

Authors are artists in every sense of the word. But I have never been able to relate more to a character than I did, Belle. There were literally parts where I felt Billie wrote me into this fantastic novella without even knowing me.
Belle grew up in a broken home. Her favorite holiday, Christmas, ruined after she finds out Dmitri, her best friend, and the love of her life is as crazy for her as she is him. 5 years she spends married to her college boyfriend, that are the absolute worst to put it lightly.
Dimitri spends those 5 years watching over her and plotting a way to get her back into his arms where she belongs. She belongs to him, after all. Will Dmitri be able to get Belle back in his arms where she belongs? Will Belle be able to find a way out of her current relationship for her own sanity? Or will there be something slightly complicating this story? Read Sweet Silver Belle to find out what happens with Dmitri and Belle!

It is a novella, so it's less than 200 pages, but it just went so fast! I love that the author dives right into the action and doesn't waste time on character building and "world setting".
This was the perfect mix of smut and kink without getting to be too much.

I absolutely loved this! It does get gory but nothing that the average dark romance reader hasn’t read already. I love that the FMC has a back bone made of steel and refuses to break her protection of her daughter and the love of her life.

This is now one of my favorite novellas this year .this was so good. I devoured this book so fast. Asher is trash of a person I never liked him. If anyone does, then something is wrong with you.

I fell in love with him right away he just has that aura in writing form ,everything about him just attracts you to do anything he says. I definitely wish i was Belle .when he talks in Russian, oh lord, I just melt .
I love everything about him. There is nothing he can do to make me nit love him. Asher family and friends they are awful as well. I don't want to say too much cause it's just so good .

Love love loved this book soooo much. It was so unhinged but I was living for it 😍💜
You are drawn in from the start filled with intrigue. The MMC is instantly likeable even if he gives off dangerous vibes when he wants to but his backstory sort of explains why he is the way he is. He is such an amazing MMC though and the way that he dotes on his beloved Belle is just swoon worthy even if some of it is very mentally unhinged it's sort of sweet in a warped twisted way. I also love the way the author uses russian in parts to set the tone, it can either be a very sweet moment, or a spicy moment or just seething with rage and it is so beautifully done you can almost hear Dmitri saying it for himself. The FMC is very relatable in a lot of aspects if you have been through any sort of trauma inducing event. Her story and backstory and both very tragic. Please read the trigger warnings before reading this story but if you are fine with the triggers then I highly suggest you read this book. It is such an emotional rollercoaster that will make you feel so much but that to me shows that this is a very well written book. Also, it needs to be mentioned, the spice gets spicy and also just as unhinged, definitely a 4.5 on the spicy scale. It is also a novella so it is a nice quick read if you are looking for something to help get you out of a reading slump and you love dark romance, then this is the book for you. Such an exhilarating read that I cannot wait to have on my shelf so I can read it over and over again 🤗💜

Before you ask, yes, I am aware it's currently May Day bank holiday in the UK and gloriously sunny outside... I FINALLY picked up this holiday novella by one of my favourite authors in the hopes it might cool me down a little but, well, this is a book that will definitely get you hot under the collar!
'Sweet Silver Belle' is a little nugget of dark romance perfection. Within moments of meeting our main characters, Belle and Dmitri, you are invested in their relationship and their personalities, and your heart immediately knows what it wants. Even within the confines of a book that comes in at less than 200 pages, they are both brought to life with ease and so well fleshed out (literally and figuratively), it really feels like you must have read about them before. Belle's traits are completely relatable whether or not you have been in her situation, and while normally I'd be screaming at an otherwise strong female character to stand up for herself more, in this case I instinctively understood why that wasn't an option. I've never read a book that illustrates not just the character's reaction to domestic abuse, but the rationale behind their reactions (or lack thereof) so well.
As for Dmitri, well hello Sir! He starts out as quite the cinnamon roll, but damn if he doesn't morph into something just a little bit terrifying and absolutely delicious to read about! I've not really explored mafia romance books too much to date, but I love that Dmitri's background is used to give depth to the story and his character without it being overly central to the story. It was a great way to dip my toe into these waters. He basically has everything a girl (this girl) looks for in her MMCs - sweet yet brooding, dark, protective, tattooed and very much a bad boy to the world, but putty in her hands. This right here is a perfect illustration why readers prefer fictional men.
The pace is absolutely spot on. Again, for a novella it's an absolutely complete story, with enough worldbuilding to settle you completely into the premise and energy to keep the tension at full tilt throughout without feeling like things are being skimmed over. There are some beautiful little twists and turns to keep you engaged, and the build to the climax is incredibly done. As for the relationship development, damn this is a hot one! The spice is just... *melts*. But it's spice with feeling; maybe a tiny bit gratuitous, but every moment fits within and drives the story forward. All I will say is I am not developing a mask kink. I am not developing a mask kink. I am NOT developing a mask kink. 😂🤣😂🤣

I cannot believe this is a debut novel! I absolutely loved this smexy, dark holiday romance! Dimitri, a Russian Bratva, had me falling for him from the first pages. With his protective nature, tatted and well built body, dirty mouth and use of Russian terms of endearment, Dimitri can hunt me anytime!🥵 🔥
Belle and Dimitri fall in love at first sight, but keep it to themselves and end up becoming best friends instead. Belle is already in a relationship with an entitled, rich, politician’s son, and even though she’s broken up with him a few times, she keeps going back. From an abusive childhood, Belle has little self confidence and abandonment issues.
One Christmas Eve, Belle asks Dimitri to come home with her for Christmas. He agrees without realizing ‘home’ is Belle’s pretentious boyfriend’s family home. As the disastrous evening progresses, Belle and Dimitri finally let their feelings for each other out only to be ripped apart by an unexpected turn of events. After which, Belle is forced to make the decision to cut off ties with him and do what it takes to protect those she loves.

Meh. Short DARK novella. Dimitri and Belle are best friends in college - Dimitri has been in love with bBelle since the moment he met her in a coffee shop and Belle assumes he only sees her as a friend. She is in an awful relationship because she is a doormat and for Christmas, goes home to meet his family and she invites Dimitri because she is scared to go alone. At the party, her boyfriend cheats on her so she breaks up with him and immediately hooks up with Dimitri. They are explosive and are going to be together. Turns out the family is blackmailing her into marriage to Asher in exchange for Dimitri's life. She's an idiot though because they still tried to kill Dimitri but he killed those people first and Belle is stuck in an abusive marriage and has Dimitri's daughter in the meantime from their one night together. Dimitri is Russian mafia crime family but keeps an eye on her and is waiting in wait to kill Asher's family and rescue her. He doesn't know she's being abused. The family goes to Russia for some kind of expedition trip and Dimitri slaughters them all. It's graphic and Belle is thrilled. Th declare their love and she tells him about his daughter and they get married and live happily ever after.
Would have been more effective if it was a full length story. Lots of rushing and I didn't care for Belle

Meh. Short DARK novella. Dimitri and Belle are best friends in college - Dimitri has been in love with bBelle since the moment he met her in a coffee shop and Belle assumes he only sees her as a friend. She is in an awful relationship because she is a doormat and for Christmas, goes home to meet his family and she invites Dimitri because she is scared to go alone. At the party, her boyfriend cheats on her so she breaks up with him and immediately hooks up with Dimitri. They are explosive and are going to be together. This is my first book about a Russian mafia MMC… I do believe this now has me wanting to read them all!
This book is a little under 200 pages, novella length yet it fits so much detail allowing me to get a full picture of the story of Belle and Dmitri.
Best friends who secretly have feelings for each other but keep them hidden to maintain their friendship. Belle comes from an abusive family and Dmi feels protective of her when he sees the way her jerk of a boyfriend treats her, but he respects Belle’s choices and sticks around to support her.
When Belle catches Asher her wealthy, big jerk of a boyfriend cheating on her, she decides to let Dmi know she feels a connection with him. Earlier she had caught him in a precarious situation causing her to consider how much she wanted to connect with him as more than a friend.
Of course things get complicated and chaos ensued and Belle ended up being forced into a marriage with Asher to protect her Dmi.
5 years pass and Dmi has been waiting to take back his girl and take revenge on the man and his family that took Belle from him and made both of their lives miserable.
What happens is up to you to find out when you read this book! You do not want to miss out. Billie made sure to provide descriptions that make sure you can see every explicit and even gory detail within this book. If you enjoy badboys, found family, friends to lovers, against all odds love stories, and of course a little murdery goodness, you will love this book ♥️

When it comes to Novella’s (IMO), there’s a fine line between balancing plot and spice, Billie Nicks did it seamlessly. I could not put this down.
Dmitri and Belle have been best friends for the last three years. They’re as close as any bff’s could be, barring the ‘not good enough for her boyfriend’ and the occasional hookups in between. Dmitri is unequivocally in love with Belle, and if he gets his chance, he’s never letting her go.
In a whirlwind of events, he gets the girl, then loses everything all in the same night.
But when you’re obsessed, possessive and Bratva, do you ever really lose?

You always watch.

A Russian Bratva MMC? AND he’s obsessed with the FMC? AND he’ll unalive anyone who even speaks negatively about her? AND he’s 6’3 and tatted? TAKE. MY. MONEY. Dmitri is chef’s kiss, top tier, 10/10. I was obsessed with him after the first chapter.
Belle is so deserving of her happy ending. She endured a broken, abusive family as a child, was forced to marry her cheating boyfriend, and lost her best friend all in effort to save him. Those five years of suffering didn’t break her and I’m so glad she got her freedom.
As I neared the end of this novella, I found myself wanting for more of their story. I wondered what happened during those five years apart and how exactly everything settled after their reunion.
P.S. I will never look at a Christmas garland the same again. Iykyk.

OMG I loved this quick little novella filled with all the blood, guts, smut, and obsessive love a girl could ever dream of! I was thoroughly impressed with the character development as the story progressed. There was never a moment that lost my attention, and I just kept waiting for that big moment that finally happened near the end where our badass FMC, Belle, got her sweet revenge! Dmitri is daddy material and I really kind of wish this book was longer to get more of him, because this dirty talking Russian man was delicious!
Please check TW before diving into this book, they are there for a reason! But overall, if you enjoy dark romance with a beautiful HEA at the end, then I highly recommend this spicy holiday read!

The cover of Sweet Silver Belle is sweet and cute but don’t be fooled. This story is dark, one of the darkest I’ve read this year, and I absolutely loved it. I couldn’t put it down.
The story follows Belle, who endures five long years in an arranged marriage with a brutal, abusive husband. Her life is nothing short of torturous, and she has lost all hope of ever seeing her best friend and lover Dmitri again. The themes in this book are heavy: abuse, revenge, love, and survival. Some scenes are truly brutal and even gory, but every detail is crafted so well that it pulls you in completely.
This is a dark love story, yes, but it’s compelling, intense, and unforgettable. I loved every moment of it.
