In this book, the love triangle continues as Valen fights for her identity in the clutches of Gabriel Vaugn while still harboring feelings for Samael and a new love interest - Brood member Angelo Russo whose fangs are just as irresistible as Gabriel's and Samael's. Valen battles the love that she has for her abuser and a wavering identity, as Samael fights in the shadows to keep her safe and true to her purpose. Will Samael help Valen choose himself or will she succumb to the allure of multiple sets of fangs? Are you ready to brave The Crimson Quarter where the vampire mafia known as The Brood reins?
I loved this book! So far this one is my favorite in the series. We get more depth to the characters and action scenes. We also get a lot of spice and I’m all for that. 😏 Being a vampire Sam girlie, this one did irk me because of vampire Gabriel. There were a lot of cute moments with Gabriel and valen that makes you want to love him. For a second he almost got me but of course in true Gabriel fashion he ruined it just as quick. These vampires are ruthless and starving for valen’s everything! Their soul connections and love are so deep for each other that it makes it impossible for valen to leave when shit hits the fan. Valen is the reality of an abusive relationship and loss of self worth. It is nice to see something true to so many people in the real world being represented no matter how hard of a topic it is. We get to meet new characters to love and find out more about them in the next book. I can’t wait to see more about Angelo because I fell for him. I am now a sam and Angelo girlie. Haha The ending had me happy and then sad. Just a pull at your heart things. It does end on a cliffhanger. A painfully good one and the epilogue gives you a tease into the next book and I must say I need the next book yesterday! I need all the fight of valen and lust. This series is toxic, spicy and always has that hint of danger.✨

I just started and hot damn this shit spicy af. Our girl Selene/Valen is going through it. Just to catch y'all up though, Selene/Valen is an undercover agent with a shit ton of trauma. she's great at her job, which was supposed to be finding out about cherry related deaths and information on the big bad Vampire Gabriel Vaugn. but she not only ends up getting dirty with her partner on this current case, but she scores Gabriel as well. shit gets real though. She's constantly fighting with her identity and finds herself getting in too deep. throw in an obsessed ex and various other vampires. an this ends up being a fangtastic time. super smutty like yes. (look it's not that detailed but I don't want to spoil it. Also will clean this up when I finish the book)
if you like mafia vibes, dark romance, vampires, and smut. this is your series. do check your triggers as shit gets dark quickly.. You should read Samuel's decent first though, which is free on her linktree. {https://linktr.ee/quantum_wytch}
Just WOW! Absolutely AMAZING!!🖤 the characters and the book are well written.
“You are my f-king soul,my sustenance,my goddess”
“My body ache for Samael’s venom is staying. Gabriel may have claimed my body, but Samael owned my shadows”
“ If Gabriel was the angel of death, I would gladly give her to him. she was already his”
Some of my favorite quotes I won’t give any spoilers. But y’all need to read this book. If you love unhinged vampires, Fang Love Triangles, Lots and lots of smut and a long grocery list of TW’s then this book is for you definitely read “ Marked Mortality” first. (Check your TW)
And a little thank you to the author for giving me the opportunity to ARC read you know I love your books and I’m obsessed with your vampires. Thank you🖤

Priscilla Stone does it again! This books is apart of the Crimson Quarter Chronicles and I continue to be in love with this story! The events in this book left me begging for more and on the edge of my seat. The FMC is strong yet manipulated by the vampires that surrounds her. I NEED the next book!!
There are moments in this book where you want to yell at the FMC about her actions and the consequences they have, then you are manipulated by the MMCs just like she is. The reader truly feels apart of the story with the mind games every vampire seems to play. I look forwards to the next book!
This was my first vampire book and I wasn’t sure how I would react but oh my GAWD!!! I was not prepared for how much I was going to fall in love with these characters. Volatile, romantic, and hits just kept coming. I can’t wait for the next book because I have what I want to happen but I know I’m going all in and will buy the second it drops. Be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions but a romance that’s totally worth it!!!
Another fantastic story!! Samael had to let Valen go, had to let her assume her undercover position with the King of the Vampires. She couldn’t help but become attached but she couldn’t forget Samael either. Experience the highs and euphoria of being mated to a Vampire King. Feel the chaos of Valen’s turmoil as she valiantly tries to keep her worlds divided. Feel the terror and hopelessness as it all fractures into a million pieces.
OMG! This story had me on the edge of my seat! I felt so much for Valen. This poor girl! I fell for Gabriel's tricks also. I wanted her to go back to Samuel, even though I know what had happened! Then Angelo came into the mix. My head was spinning with all the twists and turns. I couldn't even fathom the ending. I can't wait for the third book. Samuel and Valen need to give Gabriel what he deserves. I have a feeling Valen might forgive him.

Where do I even begin?!?!🙈 I’m still at a loss for words. To say this book is addicting, is an understatement!!! The twists and turns, the SMUT, the character development and emotional rollercoaster throughout this entire book, was something I have NEVER experienced before. I read this book in 10 hours and I legit COULD NOT put it down. All I can say is 1000/10!!! Pricilla Stone, you are a god damn GENIUS!!! I honestly don’t even know what to do with myself right now. I CANNOT WAIT for the release of book 3 later this year!!!!😩 If you haven’t read these books, YOU NEED TO IMMEDIATELY!
Ohh my goodness! This book will have you on edge from beginning to end!! Valen..our girl Valen is caught between two strong men Samuel and Gabriel..she also has the job of finding information on Gabriel to bring him down..and this dangerous game might be the last one everyone plays.. I cannot wait for book #3!
I devoured this book in one day! Oh my gosh, I dare you to try putting this book down! I absolutely could not! This one is unhinged and spicier than book one! Y'all, be prepared for that cliffhanger! I loved this one!!!
This book. DAMN. I was expecting this to put me through the wringer and hoo boy,did it ever. Also the end of the first book had me hating Samael and then loving Gabriel(also the fact that he’s THE Gabriel!! Whoa!) and then it flipped?! I wonder what the next two books are gonna have me thinking! I also had the absolute HONOR of ARC reading this.

This book is DARK!! Plz plz plz make sure to check your triggers. The book takes you through all the emotions love, anger, fear, sadness, happiness, betrayal. All of it! If you have never read dark romance this is not a series to start with.
8 days later, I finished this amazing book! Now, I have to wait until fall 2025 to read book 3! Five stars hands down and I will love this series forever
“Her kisses were soft, like flower petals. Valen was like a rose and she had her thorns imbedded in my fucking soul.”
This a fangtastic (see what I did there 😉) continuation of the story from book 1, Marked Mortality. Valen continues with her struggle between the two vamps in her life, Samael and Gabriel, while also bringing in a possible third, Angelo as well as her struggle with her undercover assignment. The spice continues to be top tier and I absolutely LOVED blood brat Valen! There’s not too much more I want to divulge storyline-wise in order to keep it spoiler-free but just know that if you love vampires, sassy FMCs, and irresistible MMCs, then you NEED to pick this one up! Make sure and check out book 1 first if you haven’t already!
The emotional upheaval, agony and trauma I experienced with this book is what I was expecting, and yet I still wasn't fully ready.
Book two picks up right where book one left off, so you do need to read this in order. I would also recommend taking your time with this one because it is a seriously heavy read.
Of course, there's plenty of spice between Valen and company, and it's written well. While I do think the spice ratio is a bit heavy, there is also a good story to help balance it out.
There's some suspense, but mostly this book dealt with Valen's further descent into the Crimson Quarter and what it means to be Gabriel's girl. You can truly feel Valen's emotions and struggles between what she's feeling and what she knows is right (spoiler alert: they're not always aligned).
There is definitely violence and gore (they are vampipers!), so that keeps the book dark, but for me, Valen's emotional and psychological journey was really what impacted me the most.
Please mind the triggers because this book is incredibly dark. If you are good with those, I would recommend this book. Also, be warned this ends on an even worse cliffhanger than book one.
