Untouched #1

Their Dangerous Game

Rate this book
I have almost thwarted the kings of Sherman High. Hiding in plain sight. Completely unnoticeable for years.

Until I missed the memo and didn't keep up with the girls in our class. Now I'm the last.

This isn't a one and done situation. As I've never even been kissed, the four of them want all of me. To own me for our senior year. For me to go from untouched to their little pet.

If no one will save me, I'll have to save myself.

These guys are absolute assholes to the fmc. They force her to do things she doesn’t want to do, they spank her in front of the whole school & embarrass her, they allow other females to talk to her anyway they want and threaten her. They control her every move & won’t even allow her to hang out with her best friend unless they are present. They also let her think they will screw other girls, let other girls touch them & sit on their laps in front her the fmc. This is an emotionally abusive relationship. For 80% of the book they don’t even allow her to “get off” but they are allowed every single time. Oh and at the very end, another guy is brought in and it seems he’s going to be in the harem as well, like what the hell, he came out of nowhere! I also want to warn you that while there was no MM yet, it seems there will be in later books. One of the mmc’s is bi sexual and talks about sleeping with other men and it turned the fmc on so I’m guessing there will be mm in future books. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with mm, I just don’t like it in reverse harems and would’ve liked a warning.

This is a HS centered reverse harem. I read it originally on kindle Vella (RIP) where it was titled Untouched. It’s now being edited down for publishing so i had to reread it, basing my review based off the edited version. Bear in mind they’re high schoolers so there’s a lot of cheese in here. Heavy spoilers ahead, and keep in mind. This is book one of six, which would have covered season one of the series on Vella. There is a second season in the works. This is very much an unfinished series and there are quite a few more books planned ahead of this. At this point in time, season two hasn’t begun.

OK our FMC is Harper. Raised by a single mom, her dad disappeared when she was young and is presumed dead. Her best friend Kenz is dating a football player, she’s into art and wants to go to a good college.

She’s at a high school ruled by the “horsemen”. This is Luke (death), Eli (pestilence), Caden (war), and Jack (famine). Obviously they’re on the football team. They come from privileged families, and basically get away with everything. They pride themselves in essentially sleeping with every attractive available girl in their class. Harper has stayed under the radar for the past three years by running every time they walk down the hallway and wearing potato sacks. First day of senior year and she is very much on their radar, because Luke walks in first period knowing she’s the last virgin in their grade. Obviously he and the horsemen are on a mission. Luke grabs her phone and adds her to their group chat lol.

So they stake their claim very publicly in the cafeteria. Harper wasn’t smart enough to lose it at band camp like all the other virgins ok, now no one else can touch or talk to her. This is kind of odd for the horsemen because usually no one gets all of them, just one or two but they’re all interested in her. But Harper is totally untouched and hasn’t even kissed a guy. They’re shocked because she’s completely inexperienced and not a technical virgin like the other girls in their class. Anyways she keeps resisting so she gets spanked publicly and enjoys it. She keeps putting up a fight and the guy decide they need to give her time to come to terms with things. At one point, she tries to find herself a boyfriend so the boys will leave her alone, and obviously no one is a man enough to step up and claim her and deal with the Horsemen.

A little about the guys: Luke is the quarterback, he has a really wealthy, father, but their relationship is quite strained. You don’t know a lot about this, but you suspect that his father is emotionally neglectful. Eli is into BDSM, he has a strained relationship with his parents too because his parents essentially hate each other. His mother has some sort of relationship with Luke’s father, and they work together (among other things). Caden also has very rich parents, who are essentially gone all the time, because they’re traveling for work. So he lives in a giant house by himself. His sister recently started boarding school at the beginning of this year, due to some sort of bully situation that becomes important later on in the story, so essentially Caden is just raised by an army of servants. Then lastly, you have Jack, whose mother is a doctor, and his dad is a stay at home Dad. He probably has the most functioning family out of all of them. He has a younger sister with a huge age gap so she’s in grade school. He’s also the only Horseman who is Bi and is also a genius hacker.

So initially, the guys are really overbearing and kind of just talk over her. It felt like they just wanted to own her. Naturally, this freaks, the hell out of her in the beginning, because she’s one girl up against 4 guys. However as the story goes, they’re more inclusive of her thoughts and do take the time to actually develop an emotional relationship with her. They assure her in the beginning, that nothing will happen until she decides she’s ready. The spice does get ridiculously good down the line in the series, however, initially it is very tame. In this book, they don’t go all the way, because they agreed Harper can decide when and where it’ll happen, and who she wants to take her virginity first.

All of the attention that Harper gets, naturally pisses off a lot of people. In particular, the cheerleaders aren’t happy that their favorite star football players are no longer available to hook up with, so she starts getting a lot of negative attention. Also keep in mind that these guys have hooked up with a lot of girls at the school, so Harper makes quite a a few enemies, because the Horsemen all want her, and it clearly isn’t a similar “ use and dump” situation as it was with all the other girls. Head cheerleader Sidney (Luke’s on again off again, and partner, who thinks they were dating), is particularly pissed and all, but leads a revolt against Harper. Also, while the horseman have hooked up with a lot of the girls, they have never actually dated anyone steadily. They have a couple of partners that they prefer and went back to, but that’s about it. Plus, the other guys at high school are also interested, and want to know what makes Harper so special and get a piece of her too. In particular, the baseball players aren’t happy with all the attention the Horsemen get and want to stake their claim on the school.

Keep in mind that while there is no actual cheating in the story, there is a lot OW drama, once the Horseman begin a relationship with her they are exclusively devoted to her. Especially because they all decide they want to have unprotected sex with her, so they cannot have other sexual partners. There is a lot of group play throughout the series, however, there is no sword crossing. The reverse harem is completely centered around her, so there’s no MM in this.

Also there’s a larger mystery which runs in the background related to strange events that happened in their town, which draws in a lot characters that Harper and the Horseman, may have had previous relationships with into the story. I don’t want to spoil it too much, but the mystery is related to the generation before them, involving their parents and Harper‘s dad. There is a ton of spice, but there is eventually a lot of plot too.

Anyways, so since Harper is claimed by the Horseman, she has to attend their football games, wearing their jerseys , going to the after parties, essentially moving like a girlfriend. Harper‘s mom is around and very involved, however, she’s a single parent and works as a nurse at the hospital, so she ends up having to take a lot of night shifts. This means that Harper ends up by herself a lot, which the horseman notice. So one of her men (usually Luke) , spend the night with her, or they all spend the night on Zoom, keeping an eye on her. After a few weird instances, where someone tries to break in, usually someone is physically there with her spending the night with her.

Towards the end of the series, after one of the games, they’re heading over to a party, when Harper ends up, running into an old friend at the game. This turns out to be her childhood Bestie, who suddenly moved away to New York City in middle school, Nico. It pretty obvious quickly, that Nico is interested in her and wants to date her, however, he doesn’t know about the Horsemen. Harper is afraid to take him to the party because she’s unsure of how the guys will react, particularly because it’s obvious that Harper also has feelings for Nico. However, when she gets there, the Horseman recognize him instantly and welcome him back, calling him Apocalypse dun dun dun.

OK, I’m not gonna lie, this is definitely high school drama and all the characters act like they’re undoubtedly in high school. This is cheesy, the things that they worry about are also cheesy as fuck. However, you can’t ask for more with a reverse harem set in high school. I will say this is definitely one of the better reverse harems i’ve encountered recently. When the guys finally stop acting like dicks, they’re completely obsessed with the FMC. Even then, there is a lot of toxic bullshit that you have to get through first, which I can see as being triggering to safety readers. Also FMC doesn’t lose her virginity in this book, so the spice is still building.

🎧🎧ALC REVIEW🎧🎧

I want to start this review by saying I am not the audience for “bully” romances. One because putting the words bully and romance together is laughable. I’m not explaining that because it should be self-explanatory. And two because “romanticizing” bully behaviour is just not something I can get on board with. This book/saga gets a third because reading/listening to this age group is like nails running down a chalkboard for me. Teenagers just haven’t lived long enough not to behave like idiots and make idiotic decisions, and they should be written in that manner because that’s who they are. I just normally would rather eat glass than live thru a story about them. So, there’s the hat-trick on why I stay away from these stories.

Right about now you’re wondering why the heck I volunteered to listen to this ALC and the answer is I have no clue, but here we are. I can tell you one lesson on this experience is that you should always keep your mind open to everything (within reason) because you just never know when it might hit right. Has listening to this segment of the saga changed my mind on anything I mentioned in the beginning, absolutely not, but I didn’t hate it. There were moments where I twitched and blinked and took deep breaths, but I didn’t hate it.

So far, this is a well executed story, imo. This is only the beginning and yes, there is a cliffhanger, but it’s not an OMG type. I actually just laughed out loud at the lunacy of it all. There’s not much to tell you right now except to say that it’s your typical high school environment (aside from the explicit sexual content because what high school would allow any of that in real life LOL) with jocks and mean girls and clicks and whatnot. I honestly like it and it’s not what I expected. The “bully” aspect is not so in your face and it’s also not what I expected. I mean who’s to know what’s coming around the corner, but I’m invested now so we shall see.

🎧I’m enjoying listening to this story, but I’ve also downloaded the book with Kindle Unlimited because the sexual content is a bit repetitive and there’s only so much my ears can take on that. LOL I think the author has put together a fantastic team with 🎤Mollie Stark 🎤Lee Samuels 🎤Michael Gallagher 🎤E.M. Wylde 🎤Corvin King and 🎤Derek Prince. I think each one brings the right “vibe” to the table (if you feel me) and they all work well together. I won’t lie and say that the 13(ish) hours breezed by in a blink because they did not. That’s a lot for an audiobook, especially one that takes place in mere weeks. It was excruciatingly detailed at times but I guess I probably might have complained if it wasn’t, so who’s to know. Like I said, so far, I’m invested and it’s pretty darn good.

Do with all that what you will! Until next time!

Ending on that cliffhanger kills me!
I want to see what happens next, but will wait for the next book version to drop.
I would like more plot development, but not bad for an adaptation. A lot of writing for about 2 weeks of story time. Things moved pretty quickly for the main character, but pacing was slow for what the story was covering.

I came into this book cold since I've never read any of the author's serial stories before. I have read every published book though and I will say again CS Berry knows how to write an awesome why choose story with the perfect amount of smut, plot and suspense.

This story is about Harper and the four horsemen beginning their senior of high school and all of the sudden Harper is now seen by the these four guys from the football team who never noticed her before. That's because she's the last virgin left and they want her so they claim her as theirs for the year.

Luke is death, Caden is war, Jack is famine and Eli is pestilence and each begins to fall for Harper and becomes possessive of her. All the girls at school want the boys and will do just about anything to have them and Harper wants out of the situation that she's found herself in but then discovers that she likes the guys and enjoys the attention and she likes how they make her feel.

The angst and suspense is great. The surprise at the end?!?!? OMG!!!! This one does end on a cliff hanger and has six books in the series. Can't wait for book 2.

ARC provided for honest review.

Plot: 4/5 • Spice: 1/5 ————> I probably should not have started this six book series with only two books out. 👀👀.

Harper has been avoiding The four Horsemen for three years. Now that there are no more virgins besides her the horsemen finally noticed her. Weird, right? These guys literally poach virgins. Use um and lose um. It didn’t sit right with me @ first, but then it got good.

They’re actually going through with this. They want her and her v-card. She wants nothing to do with them and tries to rid them of their attention to her. They dole out punishments for bad behavior, and she secretly likes it. This level of virgin that Harper is hasn’t even kissed a guy yet.

Luke, Jack, Eli and Caden - all seem to have their guards up, but as the book continues after they make a deal with her seem like they’re becoming attached. One year. That was the deal. They’d get all her firsts, and she’d be protected for a whole year.

This book one ends and Harper is still a virgin. There’s a damn curve ball in the last 10 pages. Who the fuck is Nico? Now we have a fifth horsemen? and we’re all just like “oh, okay. welcome back” 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Book 2, here we go.

Their Dangerous Game is a dark, why choose high school bully romance. Please read all content warnings and beware of the cliffhanger before listening. Harper has avoided being noticed by “The Horsemen” until now. They are focused solely on her at least for the next year. What happens between them all? Sit back, relax and get ready for a wild ride.
The duet multicast narration was beyond extraordinary. Mollie Stark was magnificent as sweet, kind, beautiful, strong, sassy Harper. All of her pain, hurt, uncertainty, vulnerability, naivety, strength, sass and lust were all evident in her voice. Lee Samuels was spectacular as cocky, alpha, charismatic leader Luke. Michael Gallagher was superb as suave, BDSM inclined Eli. E. M. Wylde was marvelous as flirty, bisexual tech savvy Jack. Corvin King was splendid as quiet, grumpy, growly Caden. Derek Prince was perfect as her sweet childhood friend Nico. These talented voice actors embodied these characters and brought this story to life masterfully. I highly recommend listening to this fabulous audiobook.
Thanks to the author and One Night Stand Studios for this ALC.

I'm so used to CS Berry's other books that I was disappointed in book one, but only because the other books that I've read were straight to the action and this one is leading up to it, beautifully, but THE ANTICITPATION IS KILLING ME. I love that they're taking it slowly according to what the FMC wants but what about what I want.. ugh ill be on the look out for book 2

update: this came out as its own series now and I stand with what I said. it was updated a bit from the first time I read and I love the bully to romance that we've got going on here but I want some action 😫 i should be happy theyre respecting boundaries 🙄 and letting her lead 🙄 but i have to wait and I hate waiting! unfortunately or fortunately for me the series is 6 books long which is huge but also... its cs berry. those 6 books, Harper, the fmc, going to be freaked out by the end where ill be asking them to STOP TOUCHING HER most likely and then with the way this one ended... I cant wait to see what that brings. my only regret is not buying the serial so I know cause the anticipation truly is killing me.

Read at own Risk- This Story That Started My C.S. Berry Addiction

From the moment I began reading Their Dangerous Games, I knew this was no ordinary romance. I originally uncovered the story through an uncredited, plagiarised copy, and my heartbreak upon learning it had not been properly attributed to C.S. Berry. After reaching out to her and finding out DEVISTANGINY it was on kindle Vella (which we don’t have it Australia) , only deepened my resolve to one day read the book in its true, published form. To say I have been waiting so to say I have been waiting impatiently is a gross understatement.

The minute this edited release became available, I was there — obsessed from page one and undeniably jealous of Harper and the pull she holds over her men. They tell her they own her, but, truthfully, she owns them. She simply doesn’t see it yet — perhaps she’s the only one who hasn’t realised it’s her spell they’re falling under, not the other way around

Harper, the story’s heroine, is refreshingly real. She isn’t a character you want to scream at or roll your eyes over. She’s brave, fiery when it matters, and unapologetically innocent — a balance so beautifully written that you find yourself cheering for her, not critiquing her. Watching her evolve from unnoticed wallflower to a woman ready to hold her own — unafraid to take hold of her own sexual desires instead of collapsing beneath social expectations — is endlessly satisfying.

Harper remains authentically herself Her transformation doesn’t erase who she is; it enhances her. Even as her wardrobe refreshes, her world expands, and her life becomes beautifully and irreversibly entwined with the four men who have fallen hardest we see that Harper is not changing to meet their needs, not to fit their mould — this is her recognising invisibility is no longer an option. This is her stepping out of the shadows shamelessly taking charge and becoming the Harper she’s always wanted to be, finally learning who she is and what she wants and likes and taking it for herself.

As her world expands, and she quietly realises these four men are not going anywhere – and maybe that’s how she likes it and just maybe they were always meant to be central to her story — and perhaps she was always ment to be there’s .

The Four Horsemen Caden, Luke, Eli, and Jack — they are magnetic, layered, mysterious, and formidable. Their desire for Harper is intense and consuming, yet that only highlights the softer moments between them. The tenderness woven through the fire gives the story its heartbeat. They protect her. They showcase her proudly. They soften just slightly in her presence, and the chemistry is everything reverse-harem readers crave — scorching, thrilling, and deliciously paced. And the best part? We know we haven’t even reached the good part yet. The spark is already blazing, but the real inferno is clearly waiting for us in the books ahead.

By the time you finish this first instalment, you will be left you flushed, steamy, restless, and in urgent need of more. We close book one and Harper is still a blushing virgin — yet we finish itknowing the best, spiciest, soul-ruining goodness is still ahead.
This is why I fell in love with C.S. Berry in the first place. This is the book that lit the fuse and led me to my other loves such as Private Listing and Princes of Hollywood, stories that stole my heart just as completely, but never replaced the original obsession that started it all.

If C.S. Berry can write characters like this — ones you don’t just observe, but wish were your own fictional life. now, I I go back to impatiently waiting for the other books.

C.S Berry was always destined to be a favourite of mine — and I truly can’t wait for her to become one of yours as well

I went into Their Dangerous Game completely unsure of how I'd feel about it. New to me author, a high school bully (which I've not read in a while), and darker themes that felt a bit age inappropriate for the high school age. But, a great audio cast and full cast narration is always a sell, so in we went. Honestly, these characters absolutely act their age. The drama is messy, the decisions are questionable, and the entire premise is wildly over the top. Full on high school melodrama. But somehow? I got invested.

Harper has spent the last three years staying as far away from Sherman High's infamous Four Horsemen as possible. Luke, Eli, Caden, and Jack rule the school, dominate the football field, and pretty much get away with whatever they want. Unfortunately for Harper, senior year starts with one very inconvenient fact: she's the last virgin left in their grade. Suddenly she's gone from invisible to the center of everyone's attention.

The setup is chaotic from the start. The Horsemen are possessive, controlling, and way too used to getting their own way. There were definitely moments early on where I wanted to shake all four of them. What kept me reading was watching the dynamic slowly evolve beyond simple obsession. As the story progresses, the guys start building real emotional connections with Harper, and their protectiveness begins to feel like something deeper than ownership.

I also appreciated that despite all the obsession and tension, this first book is surprisingly light on the actual spice. Which surprised me lol, because I live for the spice, but holding it back here felt more palatable given the dynamics. Harper remains firmly in control of her choices, and the anticipation honestly worked in the story's favor.

What really hooked me, though, was the mystery running beneath all the high school drama. Strange events in town, secrets involving the previous generation, Harper's missing father, and a growing sense that something bigger is happening behind the scenes added a layer of suspense that kept me curious. Then that ending showed up and threw an absolute curveball into the mix. Nico's arrival had me immediately needing answers.

Now, is this realistic? Absolutely not. Is it dramatic, ridiculous, and occasionally completely unhinged? Also yes. But if you're willing to embrace the chaos, it's a surprisingly addictive start to the series. It's very much a build up/set up book, which might frustrate some (especially if you're waiting for the next). But fortunately I'm already on to book 2. The romance, the mystery, the possessive football gods, the mean girl drama, it all somehow works together to create a story that kept me turning pages. And it's just ridiculous and fun.

he audiobook truly elevated this for me, so well performed I think that's why I got sucked in. The full cast duet narration from Mollie Stark, Lee Samuels, Michael Gallagher, E.M. Wylde, Corvin King, and Derek Prince was fantastic. Every narrator brought a distinct personality to their character, making it easy to stay immersed even when the drama levels hit maximum chaos. Mollie Stark does a great job capturing Harper's vulnerability, determination, and growing confidence, while the guys each bring their own unique energy to the Horsemen. So good. And legit Corvin King is become my dark romance king. The production quality is excellent, the performances are engaging, and the cast chemistry really sells the story. Honestly, I don't think I would have connected with this book nearly as much if I'd read it instead of listened to it.

The ending left me equal parts confused, entertained, and immediately ready for book two. Already diving into that audio.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧Alluring & Intense!

Their Dangerous Game
Untouched Volume 1
By: C.S. Berry
Duet Multi Cast Narration: Mollie Stark, Lee Samuels, Michael Gallagher, E.M. Wylde, Corvin King & Derek Prince

The series kicks off spectacularly, a reverse harem bully romance unlike any other, a story that completely engrosses you, becoming your addiction because you need to know what happens next. Harper is in her senior year, and she stayed off the radar of the kings of Sherman High School, known as the Four Horsemen, also known as pursuers of V-cards, and girls willingly giving them up to them. Harper never wanted to be on their list of who they conquered, but it looks like she is the last of her kind, a rare gem, and the one they have set claim on. The four horsemen are all on the school’s football team, but they also work as a team off the field, and once they lay claim on Harper, she did not stand a chance and had to play along. The kings of campus, representing the four horsemen, are Luke: Death, Caden: War, Eli: Pestilence, Jack: Famine, each one as intriguing as the other. I thought they were jerks at first, demanding and controlling, but they grew on me, not taking what they want by force but more of working their way into her life and making her want them. Their possessiveness was intense, but they are all intense characters with powerful personalities, used to getting what they want and willing to work for it. This is an original, cleverly crafted story with non-stop drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. And that ending, wow, an ending that leaves you wanting more. C.S. Berry, thank you for this terrific story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing multi-cast production performed in duet by wonderfully talented voice artists, Molly Stark (Harper), Lee Samuels (Luke), Michael Gallagher (Eli), E.M. Wylde Jack), Corvin King (Caden), and Derek Prince (Nico). All embodied their characters completely, and I loved how they owned their roles, sounding believable and just as I imagined their characters would sound. Their expressive performance conveys all their characters’ emotions and passion, making you feel it all. They are entertaining storytellers and their enthralling performance hooks you to the story.

I love a good bully romance and although there were parts of this I enjoyed, it stuck at the three star mark for me. The dubious consent is very prevalent and the initial reason why the Horsemen pursued Harper was pretty gross. I didn't like any of the MMCs at all for quite a big chunk of the book. The manipulation, the punishments and the control the Horsemen exert over Harper is uncomfortable at moments. I agree with other reviewers when the high school element doesn't really add anything; this could easily have been a college age setting.

I liked Mollie Stark's Harper; body betrayal is not one of my favourites but I genuinely felt the conflict in her performance and how Harper articulated her feelings about it. Harper may have liked some of the things the Horsemen did but she recognised where her limits were and was still not comfortable. I did like though how she could be herself a little more now beyond her relationship with Kenzie. I liked Kenzie too but I am hoping it comes out Brandon is the one who dropped Harper in it!

Luke was the standout MMC for me closely followed by Caeden but Eli and Jack felt a little in the background for the most part. The narration though is excellent and it kept me more engaged than if I was reading alone with the narrators really making each character their own; the chemistry is excellent and some of those lines definitely melted my headphones! With Nico entering the chat I'm interested to see how he is going to fit in as someone who has a connection with Harper beyond simply wanting something from her. Harper states more than once that they want her for what she is not who she is and I'm hoping we see some development in that area in book two. I'm also trying to figure out who the mysterious artist is, and what the story with Tanner is as something tells me Mia isn't just at another school....

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Overall Thoughts: I love an academic, bully RH. I think because it is realistic fantasy, meaning you don’t suspend reality other than high school boys having the emotional maturity to share one woman…lol! It took me a little bit to get it clear on who was who between their real names and their horseman names. But no matter what kind of MMC you like, one of these guys will surely fit the bill. I am angry at the cliffhanger CS Berry left us with, but it isn’t the worst one I’ve ever encountered, so I will thank her for that. The narration was so, good…mmm mmm! I think the voices match each of the charaters really well. Mollie gives a sublime performance, and the guys voiced by Corvin, Lee, Michael, EM, and Derek were fantastic. Spot on with the voice matching…it’s almost scary. All of them have their own personality and it shows though in their performances.

Narration: full cast, duet, first-person present tense, multi-POV with flashbacks

Tropes: RH, bully, high school, v!rgin FMC, cinnamon roll, jokester, harsh, OW drama, exhibitionism/voyeurism, v!olence, enemies-to-lovers, mine, jealousy, found family, OTTP, sharing, group scenes, football, humiliation, web cam

Overall: 5 ❤️
Spice: 3.5 🌶️
Humor: 2.5 😂
Drama: 3.5 🎭
Darkness: 3 🖤
Narration: 5 🎧

Harper has done her best to fly under the radar for most of her life. All she wants it to get through her senior year, apply to colleges, and graduate while not getting noticed by The Horsemen. Unfortunately, she is the last remaining v!rgin in the senior class, and all 4 have their sights set on her.

These guys don’t just want to be with Harper, the want own her and consumer her until there is nothing left. Entering a bargain where they are hers for the year, as long as she gives herself to all of them in return.

Harper is in way over her head, but these guys have awakened something inside her, and she is being her true self for the first time. Breaking out of her shell, and breaking all the rules for the first time ever.

Look, I received the ARC of this book on Friday afternoon and by Saturday night, I was finished reading it.

Yes. That is how addicting it was.

I have been a fan of Ms Berry since Private Listing. I don’t think I’ve ever read a reverse harem with such swoon worthy spice as I did with Private Listing. So to top that? Impossible.

But this book is coming a close second! Since there are 6 novels planned in total, who knows if the upcoming books may actually beat my love for Private Listing and become my favourite saga?

Now coming to the plot. If spice and smut is your need, then that is the exact or well entire plot of the book.

Picture this: You are the socially awkward wallflower, who flies under the radar for a long time, just living your life, making no noise ans just wanting to graduate and go to college at the end of the year and suddenly, you are surrounded by 4 jocks or horsemen as they are called, who want to give —no — take —all your firsts from you. They want to be your masters and want to make you their obedient student. That is it. That’s the entire plot.

And it’s sooo freaking good. So amazing that I was up till 3am reading the book!

Harper is just minding her own business until she isn’t. She tries to fight the guys as much as she can but even she knows that in the end, it is all futile. She knows she’s lost against the 4 horsemen. All she can do is give in —but she is no mousy flower. She learns to grow a backbone, play the very system the boys set up for her —and slowly starts to fall for them —their touch, their mouths, their kisses —their care!

For the 4 horsemen, she was just an itch they needed to scratch, a right of passage until they slowly began getting addicted to her —her innocence, her fire, her kindness, her softness, her feistiness. They think they own her but in the end, she’s the one controlling their emotions.

The book is so fun! So hot, so tempting! I’m just mad it wasn’t longer! I can spend days upon days reading about Harper and her men!

So yes, a drop dead gorgeous 5 stars from me!

Welcome to my latest Obsession. This book was like pure dopamine for my brain, meaning I beyond loved it. The bully/why choose genre is my absolute favorite (dark hockey romance pulling up extremely close behind), and Their Dangerous Game DELIVERED.

I’m rabid for why choose, throw in some football Gods called The Horsemen who rule with an iron fist at Sherman High, make all four of them beautiful beyond belief and you have Luke, Caden, Jack and Eli.

The Horsemen have a reputation for making the virgins in their year….non virgins. It’s senior year and the last year to claim virgin territory….but only one remains, who slipped under their radar, Harper Davidson…

Harper made it her mission to slip under the radar of these boys. Not wanting to be one of their notches on the bed post, Harper did everything possible to avoid attracting their attention….until she’s seen….and marked with ownership by the Horsemen. But they don’t just want her virginity….they want her compliance for a year. Finding herself in a situation she wants no part of, getting to know these boys puts a new light on them….she plans to keep her virginity, but as she gets closer and they start to show her all the ways they can make her feel good…she feels her walls slowly coming down…

But then a blast from the past shows their face and a new hand is dealt by the boys that Harper never saw coming….

This does end on a cliffhanger and is the first book in a six book series (which I’m stoked about!)

This book is more of a delicious slowburn up to what I know will be pure heat in the following books. This book is the “edging” book…and I loved it. Every second. I can’t wait to read the next in the series because I know this journey is going to be intense. Also these book covers are PERFECTION 🥵

Highly recommend.

✨ARC Review✨
I remember how much I fell for this story and its characters while I was reading it on Kindle Vella, so I was really curious to see how the novel would turn out. So good! It was very true to the serial but the add-ins, even when they were small, really fleshed out the story.

The story is based on the premise that the four most popular football players, known as the Horsemen —Cade(War), Jack(Famine), Eli(Pestilence) and Luke(Death)—have made it their mission to sleep with every virgin in their senior class. They’re not exactly known for their kindness and have rightly earned that reputation since middle school. Harper has worked hard to stay invisible to avoid their humiliation. Now, however, she is the only virgin left in their class and she has their undivided attention. In other cases it didn’t matter if just one of the Horsemen checked a virgin off the list, because Harper is the last they all four want to be a part of it.

The book is the first in a six part series, Untouched, so it is laying the foundation for their relationship and letting us get to know the dynamics between Harper and the guys as well as the Horsemen as individuals a little at a time. Harper believes that once they’ve gotten what they want, her virginity, they will toss her aside. The guys are finding that they want more than they were expecting with her.

The rest of the girl population did not expect the Horsemen to stick with Harper, so it is towards the end of the book that we see drama with the cheerleaders start to unfold. Not only that, but someone seems to be after Harper in a much more dangerous way. And, as expected, we are left on a cliffhanger dying for what happens next! If you were lucky enough to read the serial, you’re just dying to see what’s changed and re-read the goodness! #reverseharem #bullying #virginfmc #hotfootballers #publichumiliation #firsttimes #horsemen #untouched #theirdangerousgame

What happens when the last virgin at Sherman High catches the attention of the Four Horsemen?

Harper’s year turns into a battlefield — and Luke, Caden, Jack, and Eli are playing dirty.

The rules are simple, try and keep one step ahead of the Horsemen, and always pay attention to the fine details of the deal you make with Death.

This book completely pulled me in from the first chapter. The Four Horsemen are chaotic, magnetic, and absolutely infuriating in the most addictive way.

Harper’s struggle to keep her boundaries while being thrown into their world made the story feel tense, dramatic, and honestly impossible to put down.

What I loved most is how the dynamic shifts — the boys start as these untouchable “gods” of the school, but as their interactions with Harper grow, you really see the layers underneath the bravado.

Harper herself is stubborn, determined, and surprisingly strong despite everything thrown at her, which makes rooting for her so easy.

The tension, the slow-burn ownership vibes, the constant push-and-pull — it all works. It has that mix of messy, dramatic high-school toxicity and emotional intensity that keeps you flipping pages just to see what stunt the Horsemen will pull next.

This book ends on a cliffhanger, but it is so worth the wait.

It only gets more intense, more chaotic and a whole lot more spicier.

Tropes
• Bullies-to-Protectors
• Touch Her and Die vibes
• Reverse Harem
• Forced Proximity
• Last Virgin
• All Her Firsts

Trigger Warnings
• Bullying
• Public Humiliation
• Stalking
• Dubious consent
• Spanking/bondage
• Group scenes (No swords crossing) All characters are of age

Spice 🌶🌶
This is the first book in the series of 6, and is a slow burn, but the spice level kicks up to 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 across the books.

C.S. Berry delivers a scorching and deeply compelling introduction to a new dark reverse harem series with Their Dangerous Game. From the moment we meet Harper, the last senior virgin who deliberately dresses to unimpress, and the four Horsemen—Luke, Jack, Eli, and Caden—you know this ride is going to be intense. These four guys are notorious, but now they have locked their sights on Harper, and they have decided she belongs to them.

What makes this book so addictive is the immediate, explosive tension. Harper doesn't go down easily; she fights them at every turn, attempting to push the possessive Horsemen away, even resorting to faking being grounded. But the way they turn on their charm, mixing ruthlessness with carefully placed public embarrassments and games, is absolutely mesmerizing. The initial conflict is quickly overshadowed as Harper is forced to play their game, and the barriers she so fiercely upholds begin to crumble.

The chemistry is instantaneous and dangerously hot, building at a breakneck speed. What begins as aggressive claiming and small touches quickly escalates into evening webcam sessions. While Harper is fighting tooth and nail to keep her boundaries, she loses her first kiss and experiences her first orgasm (without the final act), showing just how skilled and relentless the Horsemen are in their pursuit. The author expertly builds the desire between Harper and her men, making the tension palpable on every page.

Just as the emotional tension reaches a fever pitch, her childhood crush, Nico, reappears. Harper is now completely torn, wrestling with the intoxicating, possessive pull of the Horsemen (Luke, Caden, Jack, and Eli) while battling resurfaced feelings for Nico. This conflict adds a delicious layer of emotional turmoil, setting the stage for a heart-stopping conclusion that guarantees you'll be desperate for Book Two immediately. The character development, the quickening plot pace, and the overall sexy tension make the wait for the next installment agonizing.

If you love your dark romance with possessive heroes, a fighter of a heroine, and a rapidly escalating reverse harem plot, start this series now. I am completely obsessed and can't wait to see what dangerous games Harper and her Horsemen play next!

Their Dangerous Game (the first of six books) is an addictive, slow-burn, high-tension romance that grabs you from the first chapter and refuses to let go. C.S. Berry delivers a story that feels both intimate and cinematic—full of simmering chemistry, sharp dialogue, and stakes that keep rising right when you think you’re safe.

At the heart of the book is a heroine who’s easy to root for: resilient, intuitive, and thrown into a world she never expected. Opposite her is the enigmatic, dangerous, and completely magnetic love interest(s) whose every move blurs the line between threat and temptation. Their dynamic is electric. Berry writes tension like a science—each encounter is charged, each secret revealed with perfect timing.

The plot is fast but never rushed, weaving mystery, romance, and psychological suspense into a single pulse-pounding thread. The atmosphere is dark but addictive, filled with secrets, shifting power, and that delicious “should I trust him?” energy. Berry’s prose is vivid without being overwrought, giving the emotional moments weight and the dangerous ones bite.

By the final chapters, the cliffhanger lands exactly the way a series opener should—leaving you desperate for book two without feeling cheated.

Untouched #1 sets the stage for a series that promises even higher stakes and deeper emotions.
If you enjoy obsessive tension, morally gray love interests, and slow-burn danger-laden romance, Their Dangerous Gameis the start of a series you won’t be able to stop thinking about.

Their Dangerous Game
Untouched #1
By CS Berry
Narrated by Mollie Stark, Lee Samuel, Michael Gallagher, Corvin King, EM Wylde, Derek Prince

While I am normally not a reverse harem kind of listener, I had heard so many good things about CS Berry that I had to give this a listen, and I am so glad I did. Harper has stayed under the radar for years, and now entering her senior year is hoping she can remain there for her last one. But when news that she is the last virgin standing, the four Horseman stake their claim. Lead by Luke, the four are all in to make their moves, but find out that there is so much more to this woman than meets the eye. Yes, she is attracted to the four handsome, athletic, popular guys, but it is not enough to make her melt at their feet. She is determined to keep her virtue and they find themselves all in. A slow burn to many first for all of them, finding out patience is also a virtue, the story is just beginning. Passionate, a bit exciting, romantic and all around fun so far, I can't wait to see what happens next. With the cliffhanger, there is sure to be a lot more coming!

A multicast narration including the talents of Mollie Stark, Lee Samuel, Michael Gallagher, Corvin King, EM Wylde and Derek Prince bring all the personalities alive. Each voice has been perfectly chosen to match the character from the leader to the romantic and it's like candy for the ears. I loved all their takes on these complex men and Harper. There is so much more than just jocks and a girl. I loved it! Looking forward to book 2!

This is one of those the audio carried the book situations for me.

The premise? The kings of campus running their own twisted catch em all game… except the goal is virgins, and Harper is the final target. It leans hard into coercion and power dynamics, which made the high school setting feel especially uncomfortable. As an adult reader, you can separate fiction from reality, but I couldn’t shake the thought of how easily this could be read as normalised behaviour by high school students. Aging these characters up to college would have made a huge difference.

That said, it’s not just about the chase. The underlying threat storyline adds some much-needed weight and gives the plot a reason to exist beyond shock value, which I appreciated.

Where this really shines is the audiobook. Full cast duet narration with Corbin King, Michael Gallagher, Mollie Starks, Lee Samuels, E.M. Wylde, and Derek Prince is honestly the selling point. The production quality is top tier, each voice distinct, emotional, and completely committed. They elevate every scene and make it far more engaging than I think the text alone would have been. I genuinely don’t think I would have finished this if I’d been reading it.

Overall, a quick why choose listen that works best as a palette cleanser between heavier reads and longer series Come for the cast, stay for the drama… just know what you’re walking

Thank you to one night stand productions for the ALC

🎧 If toxic football gods, obsession, and chaos are your thing… Their Dangerous Game by C.S. Berry might be one to add to your audio TBR 👀

This is VERY much a high school why choose bully romance, so definitely check content warnings first. The Four Horsemen of Sherman High are controlling, possessive, and completely used to getting what they want, and once Harper ends up on their radar, the drama never really slows down.

What kept me listening was the mystery woven underneath all the bullying and obsession. It added just enough tension outside of the romance to keep me curious about where the story was heading next.

But the real reason this worked so well for me? The audiobook production 🎙️🔥

The full cast duet narration from One Night Stand Studios absolutely carried this story for me:🎧 Mollie Stark🎧 Lee Samuels🎧 Michael Gallagher🎧 E.M. Wylde🎧 Corvin King🎧 Derek Prince

Every narrator brought so much emotion and personality to their character that it made the listening experience way more immersive. Honestly, I don’t think I would’ve connected with this story nearly as much if I’d physically read it instead.

Was it dramatic? Absolutely. Was I still immediately curious about book two after that ending? Also yes 😅

Definitely one of those audiobooks you listen to for the performances, the tension, and the pure chaos.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW:

Story - ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5
Spice - 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Narration - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Their Dangerous Game is book #1 in the Untouched series. This book is revised and renamed (formerly titled Untouched) with more content, so yay for me! For a story centered around high school, this was a spicy reverse harem. But there is lots of plot, so I was hooked from the start. Harper has laid low at school to avoid the "Four Horsemen", the football players that have gone through all the girls at school...until she pops up on their radar. Lots of high school drama from the jealous mean girls towards Harper, some underlying suspense implicating the parents of the MCs, and lots of reverse harem MMMMF (no ⚔️) with Harper still being a virgin at the cliffhanger. Huh, go figure. What starts as a game develops into some real feelings that the guys have never had and Harper isn't out to get played. She may be weak for a FMC, but I'm hoping that changes in the upcoming stories. I'm so ready for the next installment!!!

The multicast narration was exceptional. Lee Samuels, Michael Gallagher, E.M. Wylde, Corvin King, Derek Prince, and Mollie Stark bring an all-star cast with expert performances. All were perfectly cast to their respective main characters and I was here for it all. Loved, loved, loved this group. 5/5 notyourmamashsdrama stars!!

🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧

Holy hotness! What did I just listen to? I wasn't sure about this one. I'm all about a why choose romance, but I wasn't sure how I'd like this type of dynamic. But man I ate it up! The narration was perfect with each character getting their own voice. This was narrated by Mollie Stark, Lee Samuels, Michael Gallagher, E.M. Wylde, Corvin King and Derek Prince.

Their voices bring this story to life. Each of them voicing their character to perfection. You can hear the desire and want as well as fear and confusion in their voices as these characters navigate what they are doing.

I find this so interesting that these boys want to own Harper, but yet none of them call themselves her boyfriend, when they all act like a boyfriend. This story seems to unbelievable, yet I think that was why I liked it so much. I can't imagine something like this going on in high school and being so obvious about it. The scenes are hot and steamy. They do sometimes get a little much.

Luke, Caden, Eli and Jack are the kings of the school and they set their sights on Harper for the year. I can't believe that this story spans as many books as it does. I would love to see growth and watching them age a little bit and see if this dynamic holds.

This was my first book by C.S. Berry. Hot and steamy for sure! Bring on book 2!

I picked up Their Dangerous Game after absolutely loving C. S. Berry’s Private Listing series, and I had high expectations. I’m so happy to say it didn’t disappoint!

From the very first chapter, I was pulled into Harper’s world. There was so much mystery surrounding her past that I couldn’t stop trying to piece everything together. The chemistry between Harper and the boys was brilliant, and I loved how each of their personalities was so different, making it impossible not to become invested in all of them.

C. S. Berry has such a way of writing that keeps you saying, “Just one more chapter,” until suddenly it’s the middle of the night. The suspense, secrets, and twists had me completely hooked, and every time I thought I had something figured out, another surprise came along.

I also loved the darker atmosphere of this series. It felt different from Private Listing while still having the addictive storytelling that made me fall in love with the author’s books in the first place. There were so many unanswered questions by the end that I immediately needed to pick up book two.

If you’re looking for a series full of mystery, suspense, emotional moments, and characters you’ll quickly become attached to, I’d definitely recommend Their Dangerous Game.

Their Dangerous Game originally started as a Kindle Vella, Untouched, via Amazon's serial platform. CS Berry has edited the storyline a little to make it a series of six books, and wow, it does not disappoint.

Harper is the target of the Horsemen's desire - Caden, Luke, Eli, and Jack - since she is the last known holder of her v-card. After years of staying off their radar, their senior year starts off with all four guys focused on her. Harper tries hard to deflect in her own ways, but their interest is intense. While the chemistry is off the charts, she does find that they are willing to keep her safe from other people.

CS Berry's ability to add the tender moments between characters amidst the intense interactions is undeniable. All of the guys fall further into Harper's spell, even as awkward and innocent as she is. And Harper does not change from a wallflower into a diva; she'd be happy to stay a wallflower, albeit one with a refreshed wardrobe. The extra lunches, the soft hands on her back, the sweet words whispered - and the realization that Harper DOES want all four guys in her life - move the story along very nicely.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the series evolves with the edits. Book 2 has just been pre-ordered.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
