I LOVE it when I have an author on my one-day read list, and finally read one of their books, and my internal thoughts that this is a must-read author are confirmed. Mia Heintzelman has been on my reading radar since Monopolove came out a couple of years ago. I finally took the time to read one of her books and I can definitely say I’ve found a new author to enjoy, if not love.

One-Night Crush is the fourth and final book in Mia’s Fortemani Family series. This is a standalone read with matriarch Victoria Fortemani and the three older Fortemani siblings, partners, and friends making appearances. This is a secret crush, one-night stand, older woman, younger man, workplace rival, only one bed, summer romance. It’s been a while since a contemporary romance has pulled me in literally on the first page and kept my full undivided attention until the very end.

Picture it. You travel from Italy back to Napa California, only for your father to tell you that the family vineyard is having financial struggles and needs to come up with cash pronto. It’s a Saturday night, you walk into a hotel bar, and you immediately get the feeling that you’re being watched. You glance around and make eye contact with a man who looks too good for his own good. You strike up a flirty conversation, and then he says, “It’s good to see you, Holly.” Pausing, you search your memory bank, and he doesn’t look or sound familiar at all. When he tells you that his name is Cello, like the instrument, you still have no clue. Yes, he seems to be quite a bit younger than you, but you aren’t looking for forever. Just a temporary distraction from the bad day you’re having. The back-and-forth conversation between you and Cello is fun and you know you both are feeling each other. Why not step out of your comfort zone and partake in a little one-night-only, no-strings-attached fun? Sounds good, right? Trust me, One-Night Crush gets better.

Holly and Marcello are both blindsided to learn that Fortemani Vineyard & Winery is planning on buying Whitaker Vineyard & Winery. Not only that, but they are both in the running to be the international exports and affairs director, a position Holly currently holds with her family’s company. The two are told they will need to attend the Tuscan Vintner’s Weekend in Tuscany and represent their current companies. Whichever one has the best results will be the one to get the position. “May the best person win.”

One-Night Crush was a fun, swoony, steamy read. Marcello is without a doubt book boyfriend material. He truly rivals Weston Everheart from Kelly Cain’s Everheart Brothers of Texas series for sweetest, hottest man. I’m not going to list all of Marcello’s qualities or actions, you’re going to have to read all that for yourself. But he does know how to make one’s heart flutter. Holly is a tough nut to crack. She’s independent, fierce, smart, and confident. She knows who she is. She’s comfortable in her own skin. But Marcello throws her for a loop and she doesn’t know how to handle him, but she can’t resist wanting him. I loved their interactions. I also loved the other characters from the previous books. Oh, and the cover, totally spot on.

I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books from Mia.

Ebook Review
4 ☆

For once, we have an age gap where the female lead is actually older, and the male lead is younger. That was a great surprise. I get tired of the age gap where the female is younger and the male is older. Now, to the review. This was a good age-gap, one-night-stand romance that turns into something more. Marcella wasn't playing around when it came to Holly! He wanted her and went after her. Now that is a book boyfriend.

Marcello Fortemani was having a banging year and is eager to prove his value at his family's Napa vineyard. The youngest of four siblings, he's used to having his ideas ignored. But when he suspects a collaboration with a local competitor, Whitaker Vineyard & Winery, Marcello quickly volunteers to take the lead.

Thank you, Netgellay, for the ebook in exchange for my honest review.

Can I just say…hot, hot, hot! One-Night Crush, which is Book 4 in Mia’s Fortemani Family series, came in on ten and never let up! I love the classy yet sassy Holly, who doesn’t hesitate to go after what she wants. The job, the man…her boss babe energy is seriously inspiring. Marcello, Holly’s irresistible rival, is making all the right professional moves. But the question is, once these two are forced together, will their chemistry be their downfall or their greatest asset?

While I am sad that this is the final book in the series (I’m going to miss this family!), One-Night Crush is the perfect way to end it. I’m already counting down to Mia’s next release!

4/5 ⭐️
— I had a time with Holly and Marcello. It was hot, steamy and a thoroughly enjoyable read. The reverse age-gap, forced proximity and workplace rivals to lovers, was beautifully written. Mia delivered the perfect banter and undeniable chemistry poetically on paper.

— Holly thought she was having a one-stand with a stranger. Cello felt he was having night-one with his lifelong crush. — I agree with Cello because after that night, I wanted more too. “Baby” isn’t a baby anymore, he’s Grown.

— This story was a ride, grab a glass of your best red wine and head to Tuscany with Holly and Cello, it’s worth it.

I just finished "One-Night Crush" by Mia Heintzelman, and let me tell you… hot, hot, hot! This is Book 4 in the Fortemani Family series, and it definitely goes out with a bang. From the very first page, the heat is turned up, and it doesn't let up at all.

I absolutely loved Holly. She’s this classy yet sassy woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, whether it's a job or a man. Her "boss babe" energy is seriously inspiring. And then there’s Marcello, her irresistible rival. He’s making all the right moves in his career, but the real question is: when these two are forced to work together, will their undeniable chemistry be their downfall, or will it be their greatest asset?

I’m a little sad that this is the final book in the series because I’ve really enjoyed getting to know this family. But honestly, "One-Night Crush" is the perfect way to end it. It's such a satisfying conclusion.

This book is so funny and beautifully written. It’s a story about a long-time crush finally coming to fruition. Marcello is this green-eyed, incredibly handsome, and dashing guy. He’s the youngest in his family and constantly feels like he has to prove himself, not just in business but also to his family and to Holly, who he’s been crushing on for ages. What I loved about Marcello is that even though he’s driven to prove himself, he’s also not afraid to go after what he wants, especially when it comes to Holly. He's written perfectly and is just a really enjoyable character.

Holly is equally amazing. She's strong, intelligent, and beautiful, and she’s navigating the challenges that many women in their 40s face. She’s focused on her career, confident, and carries the wisdom and strength instilled in her by her grandmother, who taught her to be independent and not reliant on a man. This advice helps her in many ways but also creates some internal conflict.

The positive relationships between the main characters and their families and friends were so refreshing to see. It added a layer of warmth and depth to the story. I honestly can’t praise this book enough!

The story starts with Holly returning home to discuss business with her father. She works in Italy for the family vineyard, which her father manages in the States. The story also follows Marcello, who’s hoping to become the director of the family vineyard. It was fun catching up with the rest of the Fortemani family and seeing what they’ve been up to. The details about the vineyard and the wine industry added an interesting layer to the story.

The setup for Holly and Marcello's relationship is so cute. It starts with a hot hookup that Holly thinks is just a one-time thing. But then she finds out the next day that the man she hooked up with is actually someone she used to babysit! Talk about a twist! As the story unfolds, you see this sweet and caring side of Marcello, while Holly tries to maintain her strong, independent persona. But Marcello is determined to win her heart, and he’s not giving up.

It’s a beautiful age-gap romance with everything I could ask for in a romance novel. Holly is a powerhouse who’s living life on her own terms, and Marcello is a younger man who knows what he wants, both in business and in his personal life. He's determined to make Holly his, despite their age difference. The banter and the little pranks they play on each other are hilarious. They complement each other so well.

The setting in Tuscany is absolutely dreamy. It made me want to hop on a plane and visit Lucca immediately. The story is fast-paced and steamy, and it kept me hooked until the very last page. I honestly couldn’t put it down. I would have liked a little more development of their relationship before the declarations of love, but overall, it was another fantastic story from Mia Heintzelman.

I’d give "One-Night Crush" a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. It was a hot, steamy, and thoroughly enjoyable read. The characters were fantastic, the setting was beautiful, and the story was engaging. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars is because I felt that some of the relationship development could have been slightly more fleshed out. But overall, it's a highly recommended read, especially if you love age-gap romances.

One Night Crush, the fourth installment in the Fortemani Family series, delivers a warm, witty, and slightly angsty summer romance featuring Marcello Fortemani, the youngest of the Fortemani siblings, and Holly Whitaker, a woman from his past who never realized she was the star of his childhood crush. Their passionate one-night stand turns into a complicated battle of business, family, and love when they discover they're on opposing sides of a vineyard acquisition deal.

What I Enjoyed:

Easy to Jump Into - I didn't realize this was the fourth book in a series, but regardless, it was easy to jump into. You don't NEED to read books 1 -3 to follow along with the characters.

A Refreshing Change of Pace – This book was a nice shift from my recent reads. It had a lighthearted, charming quality but carried enough emotional weight to keep me invested.

Engaging Characters & Setup – Holly, in her mid-forties, returns home to help with her family’s vineyard deal, only to find that time is running out on a crucial business agreement between her divorced parents. Meanwhile, Marcello is desperate to prove himself in the family business and sees this deal as his shot at recognition. His relationship with his mother, in particular, adds another layer to his personal struggle.

Meet-Cute & Chemistry – Their first encounter at the bar was sweet, and their rooftop moment had just the right amount of heat. The book has mild spice, and the tension between them is well-built.

Battle of Love, Family, and Self-Discovery – Marcello’s arc is compelling as he tries to shed his “baby of the family” image and carve out his own path. By the end of the Tuscany wine festival, he’s more self-aware, realizing his true passion might not be tied to his family’s business but rather to something he and Holly could build together.

Age-Gap Trope - I am not a fan of the age gap trope, but Mia makes this work. The concerns present were realistic and I enjoyed that. This trope doesn't work for me when the characters behavior doesn't fit their age. Marcello being naive, him playing into the rom-com book romances vs Holly's attitude made me love this! Their conversations were real!!!

What Left Me Wondering:

Holly’s Parents & the Business Deal – One lingering question: why wouldn’t Holly’s mother grant the extension on the buyout agreement, especially if it affected her own child? Holly seems close with her father, but her relationship with her mother is barely explored, making me curious about the deeper family dynamics.

Marcello’s Secret – His decision to keep his identity a secret after their one-night stand was a predictable misstep. Holly’s reaction when she finds out is completely valid—she feels deceived, and it puts their budding relationship on rocky ground. Honestly, what did he think would happen?

Realistic Relationship Hurdles – Holly raises valid concerns about their future. Marcello has been crushing on her for 28 years, and she questions whether his feelings are love or infatuation. She also points out major obstacles between them: their age gap, her lack of interest in having kids, and their conflicting business interests. This conversation was one of the strongest moments in the book, but I wish the resolution had been explored more thoroughly, especially regarding Holly’s long-term concerns.

Final Thoughts:

While I struggled to fully connect with some aspects, I appreciated the journey of both characters. Marcello’s evolution from the underestimated youngest sibling to a man forging his own path was satisfying. Holly’s hesitations felt grounded in reality, even if I wasn’t always sure the book addressed them completely. Their banter, chemistry, and the enemies-to-lovers competition at the wine festival added fun and excitement.

Favorite Scene:

The vineyard tour. My girl Holly took a moment to get frisky with Marcello in a secluded area in the vineyard. Marcello, sir, stop asking that lady if she's sure and give her what's she asking for....he was wasting valuable time!! But it was funny and sweet!

Overall, One Night Crush is a cute, enjoyable read with heart, humor, and a touch of spice. If you like romance with family business drama, second chances, and summer vineyard settings, One Night Crush is worth a spot on your TBR!

One-Night Crush is the final book in MIA Heintzelman’s series, The Fortemani Family. This was a terrific book and a great ending to the series. I read all the books in the series and enjoyed them very much. I liked that the author included all the family members and their significant others in each book. Book four is Marcello Fortemani’s story. He is the youngest sibling and feels often overlooked and left out of the family business. His family owns a vineyard in Napa and everyone it him plays a significant role. He suspects that there is going to be a collaboration with another vineyard and he is ready to make his pitch for leading it. Cello goes to the hotel bar and sees his childhood crush and babysitter, Holly Whitaker. She doesn’t recognize him but knows he is much younger than her. They flirt and end up going to his room and having a one night stand. Soon after, there is a meeting where he learns that his mother intends to acquire Holly’s father’s vineyard and they would be competing for the same job. Holly is shocked to see Cello and thinks he knew before their night together about his family’s intentions. Holly is hoping for a merger, not an acquisition.

The Whitakers have a global presence with business in Tuscany. The Fortemanis are a domestic company. It is hoped that the new company can have an international presence then. Cello and Holly are tasked with taking their individual brands to Tuscany for a wine festival and competing for the director position. He has never traveled abroad so he is very excited to experience Italy, especially with Holly. The two have an intense chemistry and he is ready to embrace a relationship but she has multiple reasons against it. The age factor is big for her as well as they live far from each other. Once they arrive, Cello finds out his hotel reservation is gone and nothing is available due to the wine event. So he calls Holly and she offers him her couch for their week there. The first day there is his birthday and she and her friend plan a day of celebration for him. They end up giving into their strong feelings and they spend another steamy night together. Cello admits his feelings for Holly and is very caring and love to her. She isn’t used to having someone take care of her and it’s scary to her. They throw themselves into the festival and also visit other wineries nearby. The end of the festival signals an end to their bubble as well. A decision will be made as to the future of the two companies and the director position. There is lots of steamy romance, angst and lighthearted banter. The future for the couple is uncertain.

I have really enjoyed this series and the characters Mia created. It is a well written book with lots of fun interactions as well as some heartfelt talks between the characters. I found it comforting to see the characters from the prior books in each new book as well. This is another 5 star book for Ms. Heintzelman.

One-Night Crush by Mia Heintzelman is the fourth installment in the Fortemani Family series, though it can be enjoyed as a standalone novel (personally, I have not read any of the previous novels in this series).
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Napa Valley and Tuscany, this contemporary romance explores themes of ambition, family legacy, and unexpected love.

📚 Synopsis

Marcello Fortemani, the youngest sibling in a renowned Napa Valley winemaking family, is determined to prove his worth. Eager to lead a potential collaboration with a local competitor, Whitaker Vineyard & Winery, he seizes the opportunity. However, a chance encounter at a bar leads to a passionate one-night stand with Holly Whitaker—his childhood babysitter. The next day, Marcello discovers that his family’s vineyard isn’t partnering with Whitaker’s but acquiring it, and both he and Holly are contenders for the coveted position of international exports director. Their professional rivalry intensifies during the Vintner’s Weekend in Tuscany, where pranks and competitive tactics ensue. Despite the tension, their undeniable chemistry challenges them to consider whether love can triumph over ambition.

🌟 Review (3.5/5 Stars)

Thank you to netgalley, the publisher and Mia Heintzman for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

One-Night Crush starts at a leisurely pace, gradually building the narrative and character dynamics. While the initial chapters may feel slow, the story gains momentum as the characters’ relationship deepens and the stakes rise. The novel shines in its portrayal of the sizzling chemistry between Marcello and Holly, offering readers several steamy scenes that are both tasteful and engaging. Their interactions are marked by witty banter and genuine connection, making their romance believable and compelling.

The professional rivalry adds an intriguing layer to their relationship, as both characters navigate personal ambitions and family expectations. Marcello’s earnest desire to step out of his siblings’ shadows and Holly’s determination to uphold her family’s legacy create a dynamic tension that propels the narrative forward.

However, some readers might find the plot’s progression predictable, and certain character decisions may seem convenient for the sake of advancing the romance. Despite these minor shortcomings, the novel delivers a satisfying blend of passion, humor, and heartfelt moments.

🔥 Final Thoughts

For fans of contemporary romance that combines workplace rivalry with a touch of forbidden love, One-Night Crush offers an enjoyable read. Its strengths lie in the authentic chemistry between the leads and the vibrant settings that enhance the romantic atmosphere. While it may not break new ground in the genre, it provides a delightful escape into a world where love and ambition collide.

Finally, the last Fortemani fell victim to grandma's quilt. We met young Marcello in Accidental Crush when his big brother Dante fell victim to the quilt; then again, we see him in big brother Stefano's book and most recently in his sisters Chiara's book. Marcello is the baby, and his family has no problem reminding him of such, but Marcello is about to be 31 and he wants his family to take him more seriously; he's trying to find where he belongs.

Holly is a fierce, strong independent woman who doesn't need a man or so she thought. Working hard at her family Vineyard oversees trying to keep it afloat her world is turned upside down when her father decides to join forces with Victoria Fortemani in hopes that a merger or acquisition will help his Wineries financial standing.

Imagine the drama that unfold when Marcello comes face to face with the woman, he has had a crush on since he was a little boy, and she was his babysitter. Imagine her not remembering him but agrees to share one night with him. Imagine the drama when Marcello learns that that his family's vineyard and winery is in the market to acquire his crushes vineyard.

This is a story or not only second chances but taking your shot. Marcello has loved Holly for years and year but Holly being set in her ways and adhering to so bad advice from the women in her family. These two has undeniable chemistry but it was a journey fraught with tension as both were vying for the same job as soon as the merger was acquisition was complete.

Holly was a little frustrating at times; holding on to the toxic advice given to her by her grandmother about not needing a man; as a result, Holly didn't know how to let anyone do anything for her, but nothing stop Marcello dedication and perseverance.

Sparks began to fly when both Holly and Marcello is sent to attend the Tuscan Vintners' Weekend in Tuscany. While there they are to promote both vineyards to wine connoisseurs from around the world. The one who does the best; gets the job. But this getaway serves more than one purpose; Marcello is in it to win it and not just the coveted new title. He's in it to win Holly's heart.

Expect:

Thank you author Mia Heintzelman and Net Galley for the free copy of One Night Crush in exchange for my honest review.

One Night Crush is the story of Holly Whitaker, a strong and independent 44 year old career woman living in Tuscany and running the international arm of her family’s winery. While back home in Napa to do some business with her Dad, she meets a gorgeous and charming man Cello (a decade her junior) at a bar and has a steamy incredible one night stand with him. A couple days later, she discovers that the same man she had the hot tryst with is also the youngest member of the Fortemani family- a fellow wine making family- and that her own family winery is set to become an acquisition of theirs or be merged. She and Cello are then tasked with a may-the-best-win competition for director of their family vineyards set in the romantic city of Tuscany. Will they be able to keep their eyes on the prize, or will they succumb to the romance of Italy?

This story checked all the boxes for a sweet and sexy romance. The banter between the main characters was perfect, the sweetness and sexiness was equally balanced, and both characters were likeable and had me cheering for their happily ever afters. I love that this story is very sex positive, and it is refreshing to see a woman be comfortable and confident in her sexiness and needs. I love the character Holly for many reasons. First, she is career and dream driven, and does not sacrifice what she wants for herself and for her legacy. She is also honest in her emotions and needs, and also does not sacrifice herself or her boundaries for love. Marcello is also a great character in that he is passionate and charming, and also very honest and open with his emotions. The dynamic between the two characters did not feel forced and I didn’t feel like any tropes or themes were repeated or played out.

The story was paced well, keeping me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. It was easy to get attached to the characters and their stories, and to feel the emotion evoked by the authors words.

The spice was also perfectly timed and beautifully illustrated in words, not overly vulgar, and was instead sweet and sexy.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the characters created by Mia Heintzelman. This book will be released February 11, 2025 in perfect time for Valentine’s Day!

Tropes:
-One night stand
-Age gap (she’s older)
-Workplace romance

Marcello is eager to prove to his family his value. He’s the baby of his siblings and feels like his ideas are always ignored. He sees a potential collaboration with their competitor, Whitaker Vineyard & Winery, and begs his mom to let him take the lead. He wanted to celebrate so he goes to a bar and sees Holly Whitaker, his once then baby sitter and the woman of his dreams. Not to mention his family’s competitor. Holly doesn’t recognize him and one thing leads to another and the two have a one night stand. Days later he finds out his family isn’t collaborating with Whitaker Vineyard & Winery but are acquiring it instead. What’s worse is that him and Holly will have to compete for the same position they both want.

Holly is now feeling like there’s no way she could ever be with Marcello again because of both the circumstances and the age gap. To get her attention Marcello starts a prank wars between the two. Holly then starts to see him in a different light more and more. Their chemistry becomes undeniable. When they travel to Tuscany for Vintner’s Weekend the feelings only heighten.

Marcello wasn’t afraid to fall for Holly and he was willing to do anything to get her to she was the only woman he wanted to be with. He wore his heart on his sleeves and loved her deep. Holly needed some time to get adjusted to the idea of them being together. She was raised to not depend on a man and to have your own. Which I found very relatable!! I don’t know how many times I’ve heard that from my grandma too lol. But when you know, you know. And when love takes over it’s so powerful that it’s hard to walk away. They had some challenges but Marcello wouldn’t let that be the reason they couldn’t be together and I loved him for that. And the grand gesture!! It’s going to have you swooning!! Holly thought she could but she could not deny that man. And she shouldn’t have!! It was never about the business for him, it was her and it always was her for him. This book was so sweet and cute and of course you should read it!!

This was a lovely little story about Holly Whittaker, a mature woman with a strong career in a family winery that is about to be challenged by changes that could involve a takeover or merger with another company.
The other company is owned by the Fortemani family who are the key players in this series. Marcello, Cello, or Baby to his family, is looking to make his mark in the family business. As you can tell from the nickname, he's the youngest and often overlooked.
When Cello meets Holly at a bar, he's overwhelmed. She's the older woman he's been crushing on since he was thirteen years old. They first met as neighbours when she babysat Cello and his sister. Now he's all grown up, over thirty and working hard at getting control of his life.
Holly is anxious about the future, and a night of fun and frolic with a hot younger man is right up her street.
A pity that familiar face didn't ring the right bells, because when she fronts up for the meeting with the Fortemani's with her father, there's Cello leading the meeting.
Her emotions are complicated but so are Marcello's. He didn't sign up for taking Holly's family business away from her.
It was an interesting dynamic from there, as Marcello takes pointers from a romance reader and his best friend on how to negotiate a workplace rivals romance trope.
I did enjoy the way they got to know each other over the next few weeks, each working on the premise that they were enemies even if it was a little uneven.
The obvious conflicts were there in the rivalry but a big part of Holly's concerns were in the age gap and how that would play out in the future.

It was really nice to see an age gap that is common in romance from the older male younger female aspect switched around to the older female without turning her into the villain. Very timely with the release of the new Bridget Jones movie and other contemporary film projects.

Italy was a lovely and I enjoyed the trip.

I love Mia and her books; her books are always the sweetest and romantic!
This is an age-gap story with all the romance!

First let's talk about Holly, she's a 43 woman whose mind is focused on her life and her business while remembering what her grandmother taught her as a young girl. "Never depend on a man, you are a strong and independent woman."
(Something I heard my mother would always remind me of growing up)

Marcello is a younger man who knows what he wants in life, (don't you love it when you come in contact with a man who is self-driven, motivated, and knows exactly what he wants. (The biggest turn on right)!

Marcello and Holly, this started as a hookup with a man Holly thought she would never see again, but it turned into something she never imagined. How did Cello end up being the little boy she use to take care of when she babysat. Holly doesn't want to let her guard down, so she stays strong and independent and Cello does whatever it takes to win her heart, and he does, lol. Will Holly keep a level head, or will she take a chance at once in lifetime romance?

I love how this story was centered around Tuscany, Italy, which sets the mood for them, it's the perfect place for a steamy romantic love affair!
If I could go anywhere in the world Italy would be my 1st choice!

My favorite quote: Mind the business that pays you!

Thank you to NetGalley, and Mia Heintzelman for the ARC of this amazing book! I will be purchasing and adding it to my Fortemani Collection.

Need a good fun and cozy read, this is it!

Now how do I get my hands on nonas quilt?

Holly is put for drinks when she sees this gorgeous man. He sweeps her right off her feet for a night of fun on the rooftop. The next morning, Holly just finds out her family's winery is being bought in an attempt to help her father's financial issues. It's being bought by her family's friend the Foremanti family, but it's her surprise to see the man who swept her off her feet is none other than Marcello 'Baby' Foremanti the baby of the family and someone she used to babysit. Feeling bamboozled she puts her foot down and works her ass off to prove that out of her and Marcello, she should be the new director.
Marcello has had the biggest crush on Holly for as long as he can remember. After one night with the girl of his dreams, he's determined to prove to her that there should be more nights between them. But he also needs to prove that he's worthy of being the director. This leads to some competition between the 2 but Marcello can't fight his attraction to Holly and begins a new plan. Win Holly's heart.
This was a cute story. I loved the supportive friends surrounding these 2. They were awesome helping them get their heads on straight and figure out what they wanted. I loved Marcello's growth. He felt like he didn't belong and was trying to find his footing and boy, does he. He morphs into a man I want I swear when he gave his mother the ultimatum I had my bags packed and ready to go 😂😂

Thank you Netgalley and Mia Heintzelman for the early copy.

This is the fourth book in this series and can be read as a standalone, but I've read all four and can say it helps with the dynamics of the Fortemani Family. Holly enjoys working for her father's vineyard, but the travelling and spending time in Italy has been so enjoyable. But now her father as set up a meeting with The Fortemani family, she's hoping it's about a merger and not a takeover. Deciding to try and calm herself she goes out for a drink the night before. When she sees the handsome young man admiring her she throws caution to the wind. When it comes out he knows who she is she's left on the outside by not being able to remember him. So a one night once only time with the young man was all she could think about. When her father and her sit around the conference room table the last person she was expecting was him Marcello Fortemani the baby of the family who she used to babysit, and now her one night stand. This is one of those stories you just have to keep reading. Holly has her age in her mind and can only see herself as a cougar who should have known better. She just can't get over the age difference and the professional work that has been her life. Can Cello convince her age is just a number, and that he is serious about how he feels for her. This will have you laughing, cringing and ultimately hoping that love wins out. Make sure to add to you tbr list as this series is definitely one you don't want to miss.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.
One-Night Crush is the fourth book in Mia Heintzelman’s Fortemani Family series. It can be read as a stand-alone, although I do recommend reading the others due to the recurrent family dynamics playing a role throughout the series.
While one-night stands, especially at the beginning of the book, can be a hard sell for me, I found I got along much better with this setup, especially compared to the “accidental pregnancy” curveball in book two. Marcello and Holly are both driven, passionate people, and their attraction to one another was palpable from that initial first encounter. And this passionate first encounter is wonderfully juxtaposed with their dedication to their work that feeds into their professional rivalry, as a result of his family’s acquisition of her family’s vineyard on less-than-ideal terms. It was fun to see them in a battle of wits, all while that initial tension simmered. However, things develop beautifully, with Marcello in particular being an absolute sweetheart, becoming dedicated to winning Holly over, even as she tries to remain focused on her career.
This was such a fun read, and a satisfying conclusion for the series overall. I’d recommend it to readers interested in contemporary romance with an OWYM (older woman, younger man) age gap dynamic.

Oh em gee! Mia hit it out of the park with this one! One Night Crush is so funny and is a beautifully written and beautifully told story of a long time crush finally coming to fruition. Marcello is the green eyed, extremely handsome and dashing main male character that is the youngest of his family and is constantly trying to prove himself not just in business, but to his family and to Holly, his longtime crush. Marcello is so amazing because he’s constantly trying to prove himself but is also going after what she wants and he is written so perfectly and is just a really enjoyable character. Holly is the strong, intelligent, beautiful, main female character. She’s navigating the struggles of many 40 something black females. She’s focused on business, confident and always has the reminders of her grandmother to be strong, independent, and to not be reliant upon a man which helps her in a lot of ways, but also hinders her. The positive relationships with both main characters and their families and friends is refreshing to see and I absolutely loved this book and cannot come up with enough praise for this book. I highly, highly recommend it. I also cannot wait to read more books by Mia Heintzelman.

Holly Whitaker is a single and very independent career driven woman who is running the international business of her family’s winery. She returns home at her fathers request and finds that her family’s vineyard is being sold to a rival vineyard because her father owes her mother (his ex-wife) a large payment he can’t make. The night before she finds out this revelation, she has a steamy one night stand with a younger man, Marcello Fortemani who seems to know her even though she has no idea who he is. Turns out he is the youngest son of the rival vineyard and he is up for the same position after the purchase is complete.

This was a cute romance. Of course with any reverse age gap age is a factor but honestly the bigger hurdle was Holly and her independence, she struggles with her feelings and how falling for Marcello would damage or even stop her goals. I loved how Cello never gave up. He was determined to win her over despite the career obstacles. If you are looking for a sweet read where man who has had a crush on his dream girl for as long as he can remember finally gets a shot and uses all his charm, and sweetness to get his woman, this book is for you. It has the perfect amount of spice and a sweet HEA. Thank you to NetGalley and Mia Heintzelman for the opportunity to read and review this great read!

I would just like to say a big thank you to the author who very kindly forwarded me an arc copy of her book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review…

One-Night Crush is actually book number four from the Fortemani Family series but can very easily be read as a stand alone, even though there are recurring characters from previous books.

This is the fourth and final book in the series and maybe the best was saved for last….?!!

This wonderful book takes place in the most glorious setting and through Mia’s wonderful, descriptive writing I could almost feel as though I was there soaking up all of the sunny goodness!

I thoroughly enjoyed this age-gap (older woman - younger man), work place romance and I couldn’t put it down. It pulled me into its pages right from the very beginning and it didn’t let me go again until I had, very quickly, devoured it all.

Holly and Marcello were two wonderful characters, very down-to-earth and relatable and they were just so protective of each other and I loved their interactions and them!!

One-Night Crush was beautifully written, was hot and spicy in all of the right places, was a wonderful, sunny, summery romance and left me with my heart feeling very, very happy…….

I received a copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve been looking forward to this book since I read the previous books in the series. I was ready for Marcello’s story.

Holly was in a bar, by herself, when she notices Marcello looking at her. They connect. He knows her but she doesn’t remember him. They spend the night together. It is supposed to be a no strings attached one night stand. Two days later, they are sitting across from each other in the board room. She finally remembers that she used to babysit him. He and his family are about to take over her family’s wine business. Next thing they know, they are competing for a job against one another.

I enjoyed how they had a connection. He had a crush on her since he was little. She is very attracted to him and can’t seem to turn her feelings off. I loved how he got advice from a stranger in a book store who ended up dating his best friend. She got advice from strangers at a winery who ended up becoming friends.

No matter how apprehensive she was about their relationship, she didn’t deny her love for him once she realized that she had fallen. He fought for her. He didn’t give up.

This was such a wonderful book. I enjoyed it a lot.

I just want to say that Mia Heintzelman has become an auto-buy author for me. Every book I’ve read by her is beautifully written, featuring relatable characters and conflicts. The emotional elements are thoughtfully crafted, and each character serves a clear purpose. It’s refreshing to read a love story between people of color that isn’t set in a "hood" environment, especially when their families are successful, possibly even Fortune 500 business owners.

The main characters, Marcello and Holly, offer just the right amount of spice and banter without being overshadowed by their siblings and best friends. Both characters have family dynamics they need to navigate, and their families play a significant role in their decision-making due to the pride and values instilled in them. I appreciated the beautiful touch of them seeking wisdom from their elders and recognizing its value.

Mia is a must-read author in the romance genre. I finished this book feeling entirely fulfilled; there are no loose ends or cliffhangers—just a solid story.

Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing, NetGalley Co-op, Tule Publishing, and Mia Heintzelman for the ARC of this amazing book.

This book was all Marcello Fortemani! Baby, definitely was not a baby by any means, and his unwavering pursuit of Holly Whitaker was definitely romance book inspired. Holly makes the decision to live, “just for the night” with a man who seems vaguely familiar. This one night lives rent free in her head for two days until she discovers that man is Baby/Cello, the youngest Fortemani that she babysat once upon a time. Not only that, but his family is acquiring her family’s winery and he’s her competition for a job she’s totally magnificent at. Mia writes this book as one you CANNOT put down. These two are literally waging war, falling in love, and Holly is fighting the fact that he’s 13 years younger than her. However, the chemistry is insane and Cello may be young but he’s definitely ready! The intensity of the feelings these two share once they’re in their Italian bubble is what solidified just the lengths Cello would go to get his woman. If you love an age gap where she’s older, workplace romance, fighting for the same position, I definitely recommend this book. The surrounding characters are just as great as the main characters as well.

I have never read anything by Mia Heintzelman before, OMG this was fantastic!!! Holly Whitaker and her father own Whitaker Vineyard and Winery, her father tells her they are in serious financial trouble. To make her feel better, she goes to a bar for a drink; she ends up having a one night stand with Cello. She does not know him, he is about fifteen years younger than her; this is a one night stand with no strings attached. Cello says he knows her from years ago, and says no more. Marcello (Cello) Fortemani is part of Fortemani Enterprises, their vineyard has had a banner year. Fortemani Enterprises is headed by Victoria Fortemani; and her family meet with Holly Whitaker and her father. Holly is surprised to find out that Cello is Marcello, she used to babysit him. Marcello and Holly are blindsided that Fortemani Enterprises are planning to buy Whitaker Vineyard and Winery. Marcello and Holly are both in the running to be the International Exports and Affairs Director. Can they each get past the sexual tension? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Mia. Heintzelman!!!!

Nobody puts Marcello “Baby” Fortemani in a corner. He is determined to pave his own path with his families wine company and to prove to Holly that he is the man for her. It doesn’t help that there are so many obstacles that’ll make their future reality seem unlikely.

Holly Whitaker is a hard working woman, who can’t seem to shake this younger man, and save her families business all at once. The age-gap, potential loss of job security and previous advice from her grandmother have her running for the hills at every turn.

I enjoyed this series as it showcases each of the Fortemani children coming into their own niche within the business while finding love. This story having a competition between our MMCs was a nice touch.

Some instances made it hard for me to fully enjoy their journey to love. It was reiterated multiple times that Holly didn’t want children while Cello did, her not liking the age gap and other genuine concerns. Once they decided to move forward we didn’t get to see their decisions about those major dealbreakers.

Thank you to the author for the ARC and opportunity to review. All thoughts are my own!

It’s Baby’s turn! I was so excited for this book and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Marcello and Holly, and the way their relationship develops was so much fun to read. The flirting, the banter, the pranks… the age gap, the forced proximity, the workplace rivalry. I could go on and on with all of the good stuff packed into this book. I loved that our FMC was the older one as age gap typically goes the other way. It was so well done! Marcello will have you swooning while kicking your feet and Holly will have you cheering her on while also face palming in the best of ways. This was an awesome adventure!

This book could be read as a standalone, but man are you missing out if you only read this one. Do yourself a HUGE favor and read the whole Fortemani Family series. The character development throughout is incredible and after reading all 4 I feel like I know this family personally. We see so many characters and their stories woven throughout the series. I wish this wasn’t the end!

Great job, Mia! I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

This was a first time read for me by this author and I found it to be such a fun read. Marcello Fortemani is exactly the kind of swoony, underdog hero I love—eager to prove himself in a family that overlooks him, and hilariously overconfident when he runs into his childhood crush, Holly Whitaker. Their chemistry is off the charts from the moment they reunite (even if she doesn’t remember him… oops), and the twist that their vineyards are on a collision course? Chef’s kiss.
What follows is a delicious blend of workplace tension, wine-soaked pranks, and emotional vulnerability, all set against the lush backdrops of Napa and Tuscany. Holly is fierce, funny, and not afraid to throw down, but also beautifully layered, especially as she grapples with the future of her family’s vineyard.
There’s something so satisfying about seeing two ambitious, competitive people fall hard—and the way they slowly learn to trust and support each other gave the story real emotional weight.
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

The chemistry and the spice between Holly and Marcello is PURE FIRE!

I’m not sure what I would’ve expected from Baby Fortemani’s love story, but this was better than anything I could’ve come up with! The beginning started with a bang, literally. And the fire just continued to grow.

I loved that Marcello knew what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to go after it, despite some doubts and reservations he might have had about himself. And I honestly just adored him! Holly was so strong and powerful, and I loved watching her crumble a tiny bit and realizing that having love in your life doesn’t actually make you weak. And the many side talks she had with fellow characters were so fun!

I LOVED visiting Tuscany again with these two and loved their working relationship just as much as their personal one. And I loved that they both brought out the best in each other, in numerous ways. Plus, scenes like the Lemon Trees one were sizzling, and it was hard to not fall in love with both Italy and them.

Read if you like wine, age gap romance, spice, collaboration and competition, one night stand to more, Italy, fun side characters, vineyards, family hijinx, and strong protective families!

Since I am a woman in well into the "over 30" age bracket, I find myself increasingly drawn to books with more mature protagonists, so when I read the synopsis for "One-Night Crush" I couldn't sign up for the ARC fast enough! While this is the last book in the Fortemani Family series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone.

I loved Holly and Marcello so much. Holly's a total boss babe in all the best ways: confident, competent, classy and sassy. Marcello is such a cinnamon roll and he's been absolutely gone for Holly for almost his whole life.

Even though circumstances pit them against each other professionally, it's so satisfying to see them work through the professional and personal challenges to get their happy ever after. 💜

If you like:
- Age gap romance where the woman is older
- rivals to lovers
- emotionally mature cinnamon rolls
- competent and confident FMCs
- protagonists over 30
- stories set in wineries
definitely pick up "One-Night Crush".
