Six Feet from Paradise

With Stanford in her future and her dream boyfriend secured, Megan Lofton, an intelligent and popular high school senior/star athlete, is truly on top of the world.

But everything comes crashing down when a life- threatening diagnosis plucks her from her perfect life and drops her into an indefinite stay at the local hospital.

Vulnerable and alone for the first time ever, Megan’s only light shines from unapologetic weirdo, Zach Moore. As a “sickie” since birth, Zach and his frank philosophies on life and death clash spectacularly with Megan’s “normal” views—but that doesn't stop them from becoming friends. Fueled by harsh truths, humor, absurdity, and the power of distraction, Zach’s antics are what carry Megan through brutal treatments, lost friends, and a body that continues to fail her.

As their bond grows deeper and both face uncertain futures, it is through each other that they will inevitably find the ungettable hope when all seems hopeless.

I remember reading this book when it was still on fictionpress. I remember crying my eyes out multiple times as I reread it.

Currently reading the published version and I can’t wait to see what changed and what didn’t. I’m still planning on crying by the end of this.
