Amelia and Ridge were thrown through obstacle after obstacle in this story, trying to escape the danger and target on them. The action and suspense were around every corner and as reader you want a break for the poor characters.

Throughout the series Amelia was a distant colder personality with a lot of walls around her and finally we get to see why.

I enjoyed all the moments I could spend with Ridge and his twin sisters. It was a fun relationship to watch.

I enjoyed my time with the heroes of Last Chance County and hope some of the characters will pop up in future series.

I could not put Rescued Dreams down. This fast-paced suspense has nonstop action, danger, surprises, twists and turns, family dynamics, secrets, second chances, and a lot of explosions and close calls. Ridge is the guardian of his two younger twin sisters, and Amelia has secrets of her own and has good reasons for bring weary of relationships. With her firefighter lieutenant position being questioned and attacks on her escalating, Amelia has to turn to Ridge and the rest of the firefighters for help. Phillips crafted a well-written, heart-pounding romantic suspense read with realistic characters and faith elements that will leave you on the edge of the seat.

This story will take you on a wild ride! More trouble has come to Last Chance County and this time it is Lieutenant Amelia who is at the center of it. Her past is filled with trauma and now more of it is knocking at her door. Thankfully she has Ridge and his connections to help her.

I love these suspense filled stories but this one was teetering on the edge of too much for me.

Thanks to Sunrise Publishing for the arc. The opinions are my own.

Rescued Dreams by Lisa Phillips is a twisty story about a past relationship gone wrong. From the beginning, Phillips throws the main heroine into a dangerous situation, then keeps throwing her into more and more dangerous situations. Readers will enjoy the threat of something that appears to be attacking her, but who or what is the ultimate question. Of all the books in this series, this one was my favorite story. I liked the concept of the main heroine being questioned and all the targets being thrown at her. The hero is a real family guy who took in his two twin sisters and bakes chocolate chip cookies that very on the firehouse enjoys. The setting was nicely handled. I wanted to see more of the hidden treasure that was in her family home. Maybe a little hunt before the bad person finds her. Overall, Rescued Dreams definitely sparked my suspense loving interest more than the preceding ones and the romance was just the right amount.

I received a complimentary copy of Rescued Dreams by Lisa Phillips but the opinions stated are all my own.

This is a really good Christian romantic suspense read. We’ve seen a lot of these characters before, in both this series and other series, and we’ve been waiting for these two to get their HEA for awhile. This is an enemies to sweethearts, second chance romance. Both firefighters, our MCs face problems in their job as someone is sabatoging them, and in their personal lives. It was great to get to know more about these characters and their families and pasts. There were a lot of twists and turns in this read that I wasn’t prepared for. I’m excited to continue this series with the anthology that is releasing next. The romance is just kisses, intimacy level 1. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

I received an eARC of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Amelia Patterson cannot escape her horrid past. She holds her personal life close to the vest and lets no one in, which comes from distrust and maybe a little shame. All of the nightmares that she has suffered, and for which she is not responsible, have shaped her life and left her lonely and isolated. Being a firefighter is all she cares about. Now she may lose her job. Devastation does not even begin to describe her emotional state.

Ridge Foster has been promoted to Lieutenant, but he takes no joy in Amelia's pain. He cares about her, although she has pushed him away.

When accidents during fire calls start putting everyone in danger, one thing is apparent and that is each accident has one common denominator, Amelia.

With each turn of the page, the danger escalated and the mystery deepened.

As I learned about Amelia's past, I felt deep empathy for her. Emotionally she was fragile. It was no wonder that she did not trust anyone, which included her lack of trust in God. She was courageous and heroic, but so incredibly lost.

Ridge was a hero on the job and at home with his twin sisters. The girls brought a little levity to this otherwise serious story. He was a Godly man who put others' needs before his own.

This neck snapping ride was filled with twists, dark secrets and psychological warfare. But ultimately it showed the resilience of the mind, the importance of friends, the courage to face new beginnings and most importantly to live out and lean on your faith when trials come.

Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Rescued Dreams is a thrilling piece of the Last Chance fire and Rescue series by Lisa Phillips! I love how it brings together characters from previous Last Chance books and includes plot points from other places. While this story could stand alone, the reading experience is richer for those additional details.

Getting to stick with characters for more than a single books means a deeper dive into their lives and character - and the lessons can go deeper, too. That's exactly what happens with Rescued Dreams, because while Amelia takes the lead here, her father's past plays a huge role in this story. We can see the impact that has in this book. I like how Phillips pairs that with issues from Amelia's own life and the relating lessons that she learns.

Fluff romances are not my thing, and Rescued Dreams is anything but that, because while the romance sizzles, it's clearly deeper than looks and feelings. With themes of sacrifice and being there for each other playing big roles, this book is about real love - and I'm definitely here for that.

So if action-packed romances lessons that will reverberate for days are your jam, don't miss out on Rescued Dreams.

4.5 stars rounded up to 5

Lisa Phillips has become one of my favorite romance suspense authors and has become an instant read for me. Rescued Dreams is the eighth book in the Last Chance County series, with some crossover characters from other series interwoven. I enjoy getting to check in on other characters from past books.

Amelia is hiding her past, but it catches up with her. When her papers for her lieutenant position go missing, things start to unravel. Ridge has recently been promoted to lieutenant and is put in Amelia’s position while things get figured out. Call after call seems to come up with something that is a little bit off. Then things escalate when Amelia’s house gets broken into and her brother shows up, fresh out of jail. Everything is starting to add up to bad news, and her ex-boyfriend. This story kept me on my toes.

This enemies-to-more, second-chance romance is sweet and kisses only.

Lisa Phillips did a great job of intertwining faith throughout the book.

In true Lisa Phillips fashion, this book will keep you saying just one more chapter until the end.

Amelia Patterson thought she had escaped her past years earlier. She made a new life for herself in Last Chance County.

Ridge Foster has just made lieutenant and is looking at leaving Last Chance to take a job with the Benson Fire Department. There are no open lieutenant positions in Last Chance and since he and Amelia are no longer together there’s nothing to keep him there. As he wrestles with the decision to uproot the sisters he has custody of, things in Last Chance start heating up.

Amelia’s past has come back to haunt her and put her team in great danger. Ridge takes on the role of Amelia’s protector but when the danger hits too close to home, their crew steps up to help.

This is a great story of second chances, love, and loyalty with so much action and adventure that it’s hard to put down.

This next book in the Last Chance Fire and Rescue series was all I was expecting and more. Ridge and Amelia’s story was full of danger, thrilling action, and unexpected twists that I never saw coming. Though the villain was not hard to figure out, the diabolical nature of this person was sickening and terrifying. I appreciated the fact that the protagonists came back to God through the adversity they faced, and it was evident that God was working in their lives. I enjoyed seeing characters from other series make an appearance, and I am glad that there’s a little bit more to come for them and some side characters. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series to anyone who enjoys inspirational suspense, and I am looking forward to reading the next book!

Amelia Patterson has a past that she would rather no one knew about, thus she comes across as a very private person. However, her past seems to be catching up with her - will it endanger those around her? Someone is out to get her and they don’t seem to care who else gets caught in the crossfire.

Last Chance Fire and Rescue Book 8 takes danger to a whole new level. Assault, attempted murder, kidnapping and more will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who is behind this horror. Will the words of the one friend that knows her past finally get through to Amelia? God loves her and wants to give her more than she could imagine - won’t she give Him a chance?

An early copy was received through Sunrise Publishing and BookFunnel. These thoughts are my own and were in no way solicited.

I really enjoyed Rescued Dreams! The action started off pretty quickly, and the suspense steadily built until the thrilling conclusion.

Ridge was easy to like. It took a little bit to warm up to Amelia, but I ended up really liking her too. She had a difficult past and was still working through it the best she could, but she came off as kind of brusque sometimes. I enjoyed seeing her growth and her journey to trusting God.

Even though this is book 8 in the Last Chance Fire and Rescue series, it stands alone perfectly fine. It was my first time reading a book in this series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you’re a fan of high-stakes, faith-filled romantic suspense, you’ll enjoy it too! I highly recommend it.

I have enjoyed all of the Last Chance Fire and Rescue series but this one seemed sweeter than the others! There is still lots of excitement as Lieutenant Amelia Patterson is forced to leave her position until she has proof that she can be a lieutenant. Rescue Firefighter Ridge Foster is appointed to her place. Ridge wants to pursue a relationship with Amelia but can't do so when he is her supervisor! When it becomes apparent that Amelia's life is in danger and her secret past is becoming common knowledge, Ridge fights to protect her while caring for his teenage sisters. Ridge has to trust his saviour to protect his family and Amelia. Rescued Dreams is full of danger and excitement. You won't want to miss the last book in this fast-paced series. I received a complimentary e-book and recommend it to others. This is my honest opinion.

This story had everything I love about romantic suspense—nonstop action, layered characters, and a heartwarming thread of faith woven through the chaos. Amelia and Ridge’s journey was intense and emotional, filled with danger, secrets, and unexpected twists that kept me glued to the pages.

I loved finally getting to see behind Amelia’s guarded walls and understanding her strength, and Ridge? The way he cared for his sisters and protected Amelia made him an unforgettable hero. Between explosions, sabotage, and second chances, this book had me holding my breath one moment and swooning the next.

Faith, family, and courage shine through every page of this thrilling finale to the series—a must-read for fans of heart-pounding romance with purpose.

Rescued Dreams is the perfect conclusion to the Last Chance Fire and Rescue series and I'm so glad that we ended with Amelia and Ridge's story. If you haven't read the other books in the Last Chance universe, you may want to read them first as there is a deep history that sets the scene for Rescued Dreams.

Amelia is wonderful, and her history dominates her interactions with everyone in the firehouse, including Ridge. It is brilliantly written, and very intriguing to watch her secrets unfold.

Caught between duty and what he desires Ridge is a perfect contrast to Amelia. His devotion towards others is so awesome to see.

Fear and found family are both significant themes in Rescue Dreams, but there is a significant amount of high-octane action in between the romance.

Can you imagine giving up coffee for tea? Or trading leaves for beans? Firefighter Lieutenant Amelia Patterson is a tea drinker in a coffee-fueled profession. Fireman Ridge Foster sees her determination as inspiration. Amelia is achieving while living with an outhouse, and Ridge has recently taken on full time care for his teenage sisters. They work to unravel the mystery behind present day attacks on the team that are ultimately linked to disappointing circumstances in Amelia’s past. I devoured the book. As Amelia and Ridge begin to tentatively grow in faith, the tests come harder and faster, revealing more to admire about each character. HEA lies just beyond the next alarm. The real spoiler is that Amelia finds her way back to beans and it’s a show of trust in her team that we can all celebrate.
Many thanks to Sunrise Publishing for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

The story is fast-paced with a slow-burn romance. The hero, Ridge, is a good guy who wants to protect the people he loves, including Amelia. Amelia, the heroine, has a tough exterior she’s built to hide the hurt she’s experienced. While you’ll be in Ridge’s corner all along, you’ll have to warm up to Amelia; however, when you learn about her past, you’ll understand why she is the way she is. The danger escalates when trouble from Amelia’s past shows up. The villain is bad through and through. Action and danger are at the forefront throughout the book. You hardly get a breather before something worse happens to the characters. Finally, you’ll have the chance to catch up with characters from previous books. If you’re a Lisa Phillips fan, you’ll find this novel satisfying.

Rescued Dreams crackles with danger, depth, and faith. It is the kind of story that makes pulses race and spirits steady all at once. Every single detail … from Amelia Patterson’s haunted strength to Ridge Foster’s steadfast loyalty, from the firehouse camaraderie to the smoke-thick tension … feels alive, urgent, and unforgettable.

The peril feels absolutely relentless yet it is met with the steady, amazing glow of faith. Phillips writes with an understanding that faith isn’t decorative; it’s the oxygen in every crisis, the lifeline in every rescue. The plot races forward, with a heartbeat of redemption … the grace that burns brighter than fear and rebuilds what the flames have scorched.

Rescued Dreams is fantastic in every way: the characters, the setting, the interactions, the intensity, and yes: the faith content. It’s what will keep me a loyal reader of everything Lisa writes. As five-star worthy as her storytelling and suspense skills are, they would mean nothing to me without the authentic Christian faith that anchors every page. Thank you, Lisa.

Perfect for readers who love clearly Christian romantic suspense and mystery with the pulse of a thriller and the steady heartbeat of grace! Also perfect for anyone searching for meaning, hope, or truth … this story reveals much about trusting Jesus.

My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on writing and story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

Rescued Dreams is a thrilling romantic suspense that explores the power of trust, the strength of family, and the courage to face the past in order to secure a brighter future. Amelia and Ridge, the story we've been waiting for. Someone is trying to kill Amelia and Ridge will do everything in his power to protect her. They just have to trust each other and their team. Plenty of action, suspense, romance, and faith. My favorite in the series.

Fantastic!

Ridge and Amelia finally got their story, and it was worth the wait. Amelia had a lot of trauma to heal from and had to learn to trust Ridge and God. Ridge never gave up praying and hoping that Amelia would let him in. Old friends stepped in to help as the danger increased, and the reader was kept guessing who was responsible for all the trouble. Add this to your TBR list!
