Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Not a bad start. This reminds of if the TR Cameron’s Federal Agents of Magic series. It’s pretty fast paced once the team is assembled and sent out to hunt down supernatural artifacts.
Well, this one really was so full of rhetoric, it ruined the fun premise behind the story. The villain must have repeated himself at least 3 if not 4 times - come on. I'm used to a lot of filler in these books, but this one was pretty tough. I also am not so certain about the Jamie/Leah relationship. It's almost being presented that Jamie is borderline obsessed with her and she has her head so deep in the sand she must be deaf, dumb, and blind. Maybe I'll try Book 2, but I might be passing on this series.
As I read this book I remembered my dad 60 years ago watching boxing on our new TV. Sitting on the edge of his chair with his fists clenched and elbows moving slightly, he was in the zone. For those who like action this a chance to live dangerously from the safety and comfort of your favorite chair. I also enjoyed a quote about having a psychotic mad man leading the country. How appropriate for 2025.
I like this new series, it has a mixture of characters and storyline that keeps your interest, along with a snobby bad guy that makes you root for the good guys. Throw in the action and paranormal elements and you have the start to a good series. I am looking forward to more UPDO's and troubles they will cause.
An enjoyable book. The storytelling was entertaining and character creation well above average. Proofreading was obviously used since nothing jumped out at me while I was reading. I liked the story and plan to read the next book in the series to see if I want to continue.
I really don’t know what it was. If it was the story or what. But I have always like Martha and Michael’s books. But this one didn’t give me any pleasure at all. No laughing, swearing or happiness. Just disappointment. It was just a blah book.
