I want to start this review off same as I do always when reviewing Fan Fiction on Goodreads by saying that I understand the controversy around reviewing fanfic on good reads but it’s the only place I log my reading, so this is for personal looking back only. Because of that I wanted to add a disclaimer it is illegal to purchase fan fiction and is a breach of copyright laws to make money from other peoples characters. If you want a physical copy of this book please download and bind yourself.
This was a great light hearted read! (In comparison to other dramione)
Whilst it did have some slightly darker themes this book was great read!
I always thought dramione was the best. There's something so pure and tragic about Draco that he deserves a happy ending. Ron was wonderful in the books but honestly Hermione deserves better. Don't kill me but that's really what I believe. So I always wished there was a way those seven books could be written in such a way that dramione was a possibility. I've been searching for fanfictions of this type for so long I actually gave up. Until I found this .. Dear God… do I love this!!! It's exactly what I wanted! I'm so grateful for this author I'm literally fangirling right now. I mean… seriously, this was so canon compliant that it feels so natural. The only divergence is when there's dramione. And even that wasn't too far off from the original. Reading this makes me think that there were so many opportunities where Draco and Hermione could have gotten together. Reading this made me realise we were robbed off a wonderful experience. But I do respect j.k.rowlings decision to keep it dramione free because the entire series revolving around harry, it would have been difficult to showcase the secret love story. However I am absolutely obsessed with this thing. And I'm definitely definitely suggesting this to anyone who's listening. This was a masterpiece! I won't talk about technical details like the language and the errors because I read books to live the stories not because I want to be a professor in english. But yeah.. the editing could have been better but hear me out.. this is truly a brilliant fanfiction.
Well, I finished the book and I still don't know what Osculum Annuum means – maybe I missed something?
While I immensely enjoyed the premise and the first few of Draco and Hermione's encounters, this fic felt entirely too long. I would have much rather just jumped from scene to scene where it different, instead of recapping everything as it happened – almost identical to canon – and find the little differences here and there. I really did love all of the Hermione and Draco moments, but they were so few and far between. I did appreciate the author calling out what was bothering me – could she feel this strongly about someone she'd never had an actual conversation with? It seems the answer was yes, though the text didn't justify it. I think I prefer my fics to have them connecting a lot more emotionally. Also, the epilogue felt unnecessary.
- retelling, almost identical to cannon, starting at 3rd year - Draco steals her first kiss, kisses her at the Yule Ball - Draco gives her salve to heal Umbridge's cuts, gives her protection betrothal bracelet - Lucius saves Hermione's life at Battle of Hogwarts - Hermione visits Draco in hospital ward after Sectumsempra - physical chemistry but not a ton of emotional connection

Wow...I ate this one up, that small bit of petty revenge changed so much for this story. I liked how the author used both movie and book content so it felt very interwoven. Chill Ron, amazing. Actually smart Harry, huh. Hermione being in dire straights? Love!
Soft boi Draco??? My heart.
And the Malfoy family...I actually like them? Narcissa is a gem and Lucius being tolerable on screen, so interesting and I liked it.
Quick read so it filled up my day and actually delayed me finishing my buddyread...sorry Jaymee
I didn’t actually read this fic, I read the one by this author called “To Woo A Witch”, which is sadly not on GoodReads so I’m just using the only work by this author. Was a fluffy short fic good for Christmas time, with a happy ending.

If I had read this 15 yrs ago, I would’ve loved it. It’s cute, just not where my head was at, perfect for younger readers. It just didn’t hit as deeply for me now. I think part of why is because I’m still mentally stuck in Isolation by bexchan.
Appreciate the retelling starting in year 3 with the addition to Draco. I felt like it flowed but it dragged a bit. Great ending, kind’ve believable. Better Lucius and Narcissa. Did a great haunted Draco.
My rating system 1☆ DNF / would never read again 2☆ managed to read but forgettable 3☆ worth reading 4☆ liked it, would read again 5☆ 100% would recommend
