Missy Johnson’s novels are usually very original and captivating; they have the strength to catch readers attention with just a title, blurb and few teasers; Wicked Innocence is no exception.

Micah was only fourteen when she had to ran away from home and change her identity with fake ID, so she could finally break out of the prison her family’s house was. Now, three years later, she just got the gig as the singer in band called Resurrection. Music is all her live so she was over the moon when she won the casting for lead singer and became the youngest member of the band. Although, she’s only seventeen year old teenager, Micah easily pick up the mask of twenty one year old woman. A very charming, sexy woman.
That’s when Micah meets Saxon. A rock star that retired few years ago and now is a manager of her new band. She and this twenty five year old man quickly embark on relationship, that can destroy them both.
“He is a twenty five year old rock god and hot as hell. I’m seventeen…”
The idea of seventeen year old girl having a relationship with older rock god seems way much more than thrilling. That’s why I thought “It sounds naughty, bad and definitely will be sexy, what more is needed to please me?” after reaching the end, though, I must say that I desperately needed something more.
This story felt short and a tad too sweet for my expectations… In my head, Wicked Innocence was you know, completely, totally, out of this world wicked. And yes, while the sex was good, I wasn’t as turned on as I hoped I would be. The angst level was lower than I anticipated. The heroine wasn’t as naughty as I pictured her, nor was she innocent. Micah was just stuck somewhere in the middle; not exactly the fame fatale or sweet virgin. Unfortunately, in my eyes, it made her not realistic character.
On the bright side, there were quite few things that made me smile and enjoy myself. As always Missy managed to captivate me; as soon as I started reading Wicked Innocence I couldn’t stop. Things flew easily, maybe a little too easily. Everything was happening fast and in rock and roll kind of style, which is always a plus if you are looking for a quick read. I laughed and swooned few times too, so it wasn’t completely wasted idea on a plot. I just found it in need of more polishing and maybe adding some more angst.
So if you are looking for light, entertaining story with sexy twist, then Wicked Innocence is just for you!

Meh.
If I'm honest, I didn't really get a taboo vibe from this. It may be because here in the UK, the age of consent is 16 for sex and 18 for drinking alcohol in pubs. A 17 year-old having consensual sex is fine and, in many places, going into a bar would be fine too to eat or drink soft drinks. No big deal. A 15 year-old would be a scandal on the sex, but would still be fine to go into many bars as long as they didn't drink alcohol. So yeah, the taboo thing fell a bit flat for me and as much of the tension in the story came from that taboo theme, I was left a bit underwhelmed tbh.
Still, it was an ok story if you like a damaged rock star tale. First in a series, it doesn't have a cliffhanger but there's clearly more to come. Available on ku.

I felt pretty confident giving this book a shot based on my past read by Missy Johnson. Out of Reach was a wonderful and emotional journey dealing with difficult topics that was handled respectfully and genuinely. I know this author has the ability to wring a lot out of you and imagine tales that will be out of the norm and refreshingly different. That’s why after reading this I was more than a little surprised and I have to say disappointed. Knowing what this book was capable of, it just fell flat for me.
Micah was our heroine-she's young and struggling to survive after leaving home at 14 to escape a difficult situation. Her first and only love is music and it's her dream to one day be in a successful band and make a living singing. Based on the title and synopsis, I had the image of a tough, streetwise girl who's life experience surpasses her years. I expected her to be badass and more confident and strong. This simply wasn't what I got.
I didn't really get that because based on what she had been through in her life I felt like her personality didn't match-it didn't work. She was blushing, awkward, and shy around people and especially Saxon. But then at other times she was confident and aggressive. We're told that she avoids people and has only one friend-and turns all the guys down. Yet somehow she has some oral skills and she's not a virgin?
The years between leaving home and the present are skimmed over with very little detail and I felt that needed to be expanded on.
Micah and Saxon quickly fall into lust with one another and there were moments of low angst based on the forbidden factor but it was few and far between. Everything felt rushed to me and it needed more to truly captivate me. I wish I could have seen more build up to their feelings and giving in to their attraction.
Saxon was your typical bad boy rocker but in actuality he was actually a former rockstar and his character seemed pretty cliché. There wasn't a whole lot about him that stood out from any other rocker I've read in the past. He was your typical one night stand kind of guy who made use of all the groupies and wasn't in for the long term. But of course, Micah was the exception.
The potential was there for something to really sink your teeth into-a secretly 17 year old girl joins a band and meets former rocker who's 8 years older and a forbidden romance follows. I have to say I've never heard a book with this particular plot so that immediately stirred my interest. However, the characters failed to excite and I really needed much more all around. After the threat of discovery of Micah's age through most of the book, I thought that everything was wrapped up in a pretty bow too easily and quickly. Of course I was glad for their HEA, but it didn't feel real in my honest opinion. This author has a lot to offer, but this time around, unfortunately it was not a winner for me.

Missy Johanson did an excellent job with Wicked Innocence
When Micah- a girl lost in her own world is trying to make it to reach her dreams, she gets an audition with a Band called Resurruction.
Little does she know- it's going to change her life.
Micah had had a shitty hand at life until this point, and when her true self is hidden behind this facade of this new person, life becomes a little complicated when hearts, a touch of fame and your past are all thrown together. Perhaps it's the universe's way of sorting it out- a clean slate?
The band manager- Saxon Whaite
He is famous, he was famous and he will always be famous.
As a young rock star fame got the best of him and he got on the wrong path (drugs, alcohol etc etc)
Kinda reminds me of what the Biebs is going through.
Only Sax decides to leave the music world from the spot light for a while.
Now back as resurrections manager, Sax and Micah have this electric connection...
When they I'm a room together, there is no denying it.
Sax knows it's wrong, Micah knows it's wrong - but it feels so right.
Sometimes you meet that person in the place you never expected and they turn your world upside down in a flash. To make you the person you never thought you wanted to be.
Usually the past had a way of revealing itself to some point, can Sax live with what he did and accept Micah?
On the road to being famous- some get it easier than others- a lucky chance?
I did not expect the ending and I hope (BiG HOPE) that there is a part two of this book.

Too often when I read New Adult I'm left with rage. That's not even an understatement, unfortunately. Those are easy to review. I'm yet to find a NA story that sweeps me off my feet, so I don't know what it's like to review those. No, the hardest books (at least in New Adult) are the ones that doesn't leave an impression. Neither good nor bad. Because what am I supposed to say except for that fact that they were so bland nothing stood out?
In the case of Wicked Innocence I guess I can say disappointment is the one feeling that stood out. I mean, look at that cover. It promises something outside the usual New Adult story with a macho-macho male and a female that needs a little rescuing. The cover indicates a confident woman. I expected that. Did I get that? Not even close.
We have Micah who's sort of on the run. She ran away from her less than stellar mom after a family tragedy. Now she's got a fake ID, a decent job, and is comfortable in her own skin. She's gone through a tough life and is now doing okay on her own. She's got some sass and isn't the usual naive girl that I associate with New Adult. Anyway, so Micah is trying out for a spot as the lead singer of an up an coming band. It turns out the band's manager is Saxon Waite, the ex-king of rock, but he's been off the radar the past years. So what happens when they meet?
Micah goes blushing schoolgirl.
I expected more than that. Unfortunately, Micah only has eyes for Saxon after the moment they meet, and he is the same. Micah's supposed confident character is gone, more alike the usual heroines of New Adult. You know, only has eyes for the hero and vice versa. Their lust becomes the main focus of the story, and that is never something good in my book, but I went with it. Unfortunately that is all there is to this story. Yes, there is some backstory to both Micah and Saxon that is supposed to evoke emotions in the reader, but the focus on their lust rather than their personalities causes the absence of said emotions. What chances the story had for characterization are lost. The author presents instances where the characters need to grow, but the process of that change is skipped. For example: Micah is faced with someone from her past that left a great impact on her, and she doesn't want to confront this person. But then, on the next page, it's three days later and she's decided to meet him. Why? What went through her mind to make her come to that decisions? What mechanisms played in? I don't know, because that author skipped that internal monologue that I required to understand Micah's character. The same goes for Saxon. The pieces that are presented isn't enough to give him a solid personality outside his lust for Micah.
In the end, the story is all right. Nothing unique, really, but all right. But it's just going through the motions, not digging into the good stuff. Did I like it? No. Did I dislike it? No. It was just... meh.
Let's just end this by saying the story doesn't match the cover, neither does it do it justice.

You should know up front that Wicked Innocence does have consensual underage sex. Saxon (Sax), our male lead character, does not know that Micah is underage through most of the book, but when he does find out, the sexual relationship does continue. If this bothers you, then it’s not the book for you.
Wicked Innocence is a dual point of view story about a former rock star, Sax, and a talented young singer, Micah, who dreams of performing in a rock band. Sax is 25 and made it big when he was younger. After drugs and alcohol took it’s toll on both himself and the one’s he loves, he drops out of the spotlight, showing up several years later to manage his cousin Henry’s band, Resurrection.
Micah has escaped a terrible life at the age of fourteen. In order to get by on her own, she must take on a new identity as an 18 year old. Fast forward several years and Micah has secured a spot as the lead singer of Resurrection. Although she’s only 17, her friends and band mates think she’s 21. That would be okay, except she’s fallen for the band manager, Sax. He’s attracted to Micah, but is very aware that she’s 4 years younger than him, and that’s too young in his opinion. Imagine how he’ll react when he finds out the age difference is 8 years and she’s underage.
Don’t let the cover fool you. Micah is actually a sweet, caring and shy young girl who does not come across as wicked at all. I personally can’t associate the cover model with the book character. With that said, when Sax and Micah do begin their sexual relationship, she does come across as VERY experienced (not wicked). If she’s only seventeen, when and where did she learn this. Part of me thinks that making her a virgin would have been more believable, BUT would have definitely had Sax suspicious. I understand that some readers do want hot sex in their books, but this definitely should have been addressed. When Saxon does find out that she’s underage, we never do find out when her birthday is and when she’ll finally be eighteen. I think that’s also an important point that was overlooked.
On a minor note, the Author is Australian but this book takes place in California. When Micah is freezing and needs an electric blanket, whilst living in Los Angeles, I found this sort of humorous. There were also terms/words used in the book that wouldn’t be used in the States. I think she’d benefit from more research on location and perhaps beta readers that are local to the area where the story takes place.
With that said, Wicked Innocence is a quick and captivating read, that will hold your attention til the end. I liked the developing relationship between Sax and Micah and that it wasn’t rushed. I also liked the overall story line, especially the tense relationship between Sax and his cousin Henry. I really liked all the characters, and Saxon is no doubt book boyfriend material. Although Wicked Innocence does not necessarily end in a cliffhanger, it is left open for another book in the series, and I will definitely be reading it!

Wicked Innocence was an enjoyable, quick and fun read. This is the second book by Missy Johnson that I have read and I have to say I am becoming a true fan. I truly have enjoyed her books that I have read. What drew me to this book was the taboo subject of age difference. This one was the Hero was 25 and the heroine was 17. My only real disappointment to this book was that I thought that subject could've been built on. We knew from the beginning that Micah was 17 and when it was finally revealed to Saxon I thought it over too quickly. I would've liked to see more drama in this book. What I really did like was that Missy made the theme of this story being that age really doesn't matter once you get to know the person. My personal belief….yes I would've liked Micah to be 18 (at least she was legal then) but it didn't really deter me from enjoying the story, because she created a character that didn't act like she was 17.
I thought the writing style of the book was great and I loved that it is in dual POV. It was great seeing what each character was feeling. This book does have a HEA, but I guess I would be inclined to label it a Happy For Now ending. The way the epilogue ended, it leaves you to believe that this could have another book coming. I don't know if this is meant to turn into a series or not, or if it is truly a standalone, if it is a standalone, then I would say that the ending was too abrupt.
Micah and Saxon were great characters. Micah had a troubled upbringing forcing her to leave her home at the age of 14 and she then learned how to survive on her own. This in turn lead her to get a fake ID saying she was 21, so she was able to get a job and a place to live. Her sole purpose was not to doop anyone, but to just be able to take care of herself. Her true dream was getting into the music business as a singer and her dream comes true after she auditions for the band Resurrection. This is how she meets Saxon. Saxon was someone who was already in the limelight of the music business and because of a tragic event is trying to get out and stay out of that limelight. He ends up taking Micah under his wing to try to teach her everything about music, but he keeps it professional because he thinks she is 21 and he is uncomfortable with the 4 year difference….what will happen when he finds out it is actually 8 years different??? You'll have to read the book to find out.
So if you are looking for a quick, fun, and enjoyable read about musicians, then this is the book for you. I truly thought this was an original storyline when it came to musicians…I can honestly say I haven't read a book like this one.

Pretty good.
This was a pretty good read.
Micah had a difficult past that she was running from, so she changed her identity and her age as well to make being on her own a bit easier.
Saxon Waite was a rock star, but it all came crumbling down when the pressure became too much, and he lost control.
Ok so these two together were pretty hot. Their relationship was pretty slow burn considering it's a book, and I actually enjoyed their attraction. The age gap thing didn't really bug me like it usually does, because he didn't know. I guess it bugs me more when the hero finds it a turn on or a guilty pleasure that he CANT have the heroine. I was waiting for this to turn into a smutty taboo read, but it didn't. It was a bit more than that. Loved that Micah had reasons for her lies.
I enjoyed the story of the band and the other guys. Is there another book coming out for other band members maybe? I'd read it.

On paper,Micah is 21 years old but in reality she is a 17 year old minor living on her own. She has big dreams of becoming a singer and when she lands the role of lead singer to an indie band, Micah’s life changes. What Micah didn’t expect was that her manager to be Saxon Waite, ex bad boy of rock. As the band goes on tour, Micah and Saxon begins to gravitate towards each other. No longer fighting the sexual tension and chemistry, Saxon and Micah begins their relationship. For Saxon, he considered the four age gap big. But little does he know, its not four but eight. When Saxon finds out the truth, how will Micah explain all her lies?
When I first read the blurb, I was hooked. It screamed Forbidden Romance and if you know me I am a big fan of forbidden romance but as I read Wicked Innocence by Missy Johnson it had the elements that I loved but the story fell flat as the story progressed and also there were missing details to the relationship with Micah and Saxon. I did not love the story but didn’t hate it… for me, this book had so much potential but the missing added details that needed to be addressed turned me off. For example, Micah is 17 years old and never had a boyfriend. And when she and Saxon finally had sex, I found Micah to be to experienced. Maybe I was at least expecting for her to be a virgin since it was more believable since I find Micah on the more innocent side than wicked. Also, when Saxon discovers Micah’s real age, the topic of when she turns 18 or her birthday never comes up. The whole time I was reading this I was wondering if Saxon was ever curious. On paper,Micah is 21 years old but in reality she is a 17 year old minor living on her own. She has big dreams of becoming a singer and when she lands the role of lead singer to an indie band, Micah’s life changes. What Micah didn’t expect was that her manager to be Saxon Waite, ex bad boy of rock. As the band goes on tour, Micah and Saxon begins to gravitate towards each other. No longer fighting the sexual tension and chemistry, Saxon and Micah begins their relationship. For Saxon, he considered the four age gap big. But little does he know, its not four but eight. When Saxon finds out the truth, how will Micah explain all her lies?
When I first read the blurb, I was hooked. It screamed Forbidden Romance and if you know me I am a big fan of forbidden romance but as I read Wicked Innocence by Missy Johnson it had the elements that I loved but the story fell flat as the story progressed and also there were missing details to the relationship with Micah and Saxon. I did not love the story but didn’t hate it… for me, this book had so much potential but the missing added details that needed to be addressed turned me off. For example, Micah is 17 years old and never had a boyfriend. And when she and Saxon finally had sex, I found Micah to be to experienced. Maybe I was at least expecting for her to be a virgin since it was more believable since I find Micah on the more innocent side than wicked. Also, when Saxon discovers Micah’s real age, the topic of when she turns 18 or her birthday never comes up. The whole time I was reading this I was wondering if Saxon was ever curious. And lastly, when the truth was revealed why didn’t Micah want to be called by her real name. I must admit after reading this book for the first time I was kind of disappointed. This was the first book that I 've read from this author and with all the promotion going around, the blurb and teasers I was looking for something spectacular instead I got an 'OK' love story which I liked.
This story is written from a dual Point of View; Micah and Saxon. Both brought together by a world and love for music. Micah ID says that she is 21 years of age when in reality she is only 17. Forced to leave her home due to unfortunate circumstances she is living an adult life under a Fake identity. She has always loved music and when she tries out for a band and meets the manager Saxon, things in her life turn around.
Saxon lived the life of your typical rock star. When fame got to much for him , he drank which lead to an accident that changed his life. Now the manager of the band that Micah is singing with he tries to convince himself that she is too young for him (21) and pushes away his feelings.
I did like the chemistry between Micah and Saxon. They both shared more than your usual sexual relationship and that was refreshing to see. The writer writes a good love story however I wanted a little more to fall in love. I was looking for a big bang instead I got a little smoke with the story. I am not sure how the title of the book ”Wicked Innocence” is tied to the story because Micah nor Saxon was wicked nor Innocence.
The author has some interesting secondary characters and writes some funny scenes.
Overall, I felt that the story was ok and I liked it. Loved it? No but it was cute.

Micah ran away at the age of 14.3 years later, she is auditioning for a band, but they think she is 21. Saxon is the manager of said band. he is 25. When Micah lands the singer job for the band, they embark on a relationship. Whan Micah's past crosses paths with Saxon's, can they find their happy ever after??
I'm finding it difficult to word what i want to say, and thats not usual for me. I liked this book, I did! I just find it lacking in something that wasn't there and needed to be. Mostly, I felt quite a lot of Micah's past was missing. SOME comes across, but 3 whole years, for a 14 yr old girl on the streets, that would leave a serious mark on a soul, and we get none of that, NOTHING bar a few lines. And this past needed to be told.
Saxon is lovely, if a "washed up rock star" (his words, not mine!) and together him and Micah are perfect. The story is told well, with emotion and passion coming off the page. And since Micah is only 17, the sex is hot, but not overly explicit, and very well written. The interaction between Micah and Saxon and the other band members is mostly limited to Harry, Saxon's cousin. Saxon's past with Harry is not all happy families either, and it takes a while til that comes out. I loved that Saxon saw the error of his bad boy ways, and followed up on that, I also loved that he made Harry see sense.

This was a pretty easy read for me. I enjoyed the story of forbidden love. The characters were all likeable and would love to see more about the guys from the band.
Micah has been on her own for years. She left home at 14 not wanting to be placed back into the foster system. Music has always been her life. She gets the one chance to do what she has dreamed of……being in a band and singing. As she takes the lead singer spot for Resurrection.
Learning that Saxon Waite is the bands manager is almost too much for Micah. He has graced her walls and dreams. She can not believe that she is going to be working with him. Micah must learn to not let her desires for this man get in the way of her dreams.
Saxon Waite, sexy ex rocker, has never had a real relationship, why when he is a Rock God? He can have any women he wants and not have to work at it. But once he lays eyes on the new lead singer, he sees someone that he wants and is willing to do whatever it takes to have her.
Micah and Saxon try to not mix pleasure with business but when love is involved, there may not be anyway to stop it. When they give into each other, it is nothing like either has experienced.

A hot rockstar and an underage girl? I was all over this. And I'm glad I was. Saxon was a washed up rockstar who left the music scene when it became too much. After some time he became the manager of his cousin's band. Enter Micah. A 22 year old (actually 17) runaway who auditioned for the band and made it. Music had been part of Micha’s life forever and she was obsessed with Sax when he was a rockstar. Sax was equally attracted to Micah.

OMG I loved this book. I love Sax and Micah The stuff Micah went through in her life I would never have been as strong as she is. The same for Sax the stuff he went through and over come. This story I had me going through so many emotions. I was happy,sad & crying. There was so much in this story that broke my heart. I really hope there will be more books coming out that has to do with Sax,Micah,Harry,Liam,Kam,Stace and Dee....I loved all of the characters and I want more books about them. Missy Johnson is an amazing writer and I love her books that I have read so far. When this book releases you need to One Click It...Because this is one Rockstar Romance you don't want to miss out on. I really loved it and need more now.

First let me say, don't let the title rule your decision on this book. The title does not quite describe this book.
Yes Micah is innocent and a bit wicked. But this book is not what you might expect it to be. This is not any type of BDSM or crazy book.
Micah is basically a runaway who has really changed her life for the better. And falls in love with a Rock Star!
I really did like all the characters in this book. And the conflict between cousins Saxton and Harry, very well written and typical. Yet works great in this story. Micah is such a strong person.

Was given this book for an honest review. My only disappointment is I wanted more! Micah is tough because life and experience has made her be. When she meets her rock God, the guy she had posters of on her walls, her world shifts. Not only is she is the lead singer of Resurrection but Sax becomes a part of her life.
I found myself done with the book right after starting it. I was disappointed there wasn't more. I really needed more. As usual, Missy sucks me into her book & makes me wishing for a sequel.

Missy Johnson has done it again. This is an amazing story. Micah is one tough girl who everyone thinks is older than she really is. Saxon is an almost washed out rocker. But together they find that they make each other better in all areas. Until Saxon finds out that Micah is lying to him about her age. Micah is scared to tell him her age in fear of losing him. He's afraid that he can't get past the age difference. What an emotional roller coaster that these to go on. Hot rocker sexy manager meets sexy rocker chic. Amazing read!

I really liked this book. It was a pretty quick read and the story was very fast-paced. There wasn't a lot of angst or drama. I wish this book was a little longer and that the epilogue was a little more definitive, it felt like there were still some loose ends. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone looking for a sexy, low-angst, fast-paced story.

After spotting the teasers to this book and reading the synopsis, I found myself really looking forward to getting my hands on this one. I'vee read other books by Missy Johnson and loved them so I couldn't wait to dive in!
The prologue immediately pulled me in and I was intrigued to see the direction this story would take. For me (unfortunately) it failed to deliver in the way that I had hoped and for that I as truly gutted.
The idea of the story was one that I loved. Micah pretended to be 21 concealing her true age of 17. There were, I learnt, strong reasons for doing this. Micah had lived a depressing life and as such left home at a young age, determined to make a new life for herself. Micah had an apartment, a job and her own car. She was independent, head strong and resilient, all qualities that I admired, especially in someone so young. She also had a dream of being in the music industry so when she got offered a place in an up and coming band she was ecstatic! Micah's dream was about to come true.
Sax was a hot rock star that Micah just so happened to be joining on tour although he didn't appear to live the rock star life. No drinking. No drugs. No girls. I was surprised by this and wondered why. There was definitely more to Sax then met the eye and I couldn't wait to find out more.
Sax and Micah found themselves attracted to one another, but it wasn't just sexually. They really did click. Micah and Sax were crazy about each other and when they moved things to the bedroom. Well, they were smoking hot!! This couple could not keep their hands off each other.
Despite Micah and Sax's intense feelings for one another, Micah's secret was casting a shadow over any hopes of a future together. I wondered how long it would be before the cat was out of the bag and when it was, how would that affect the couple?
On a positive note, I enjoyed the characters, not just Micah and Sax but the secondary characters too. I would love to have gotten to know them a bit more too, especially Harry and Dee. I was pretty sure something was building between those two! I also enjoyed how the book was written. It was told from both Micah and Sax's POV which I enjoyed. I prefer this way of writing as it feels like you truly get to know about the characters thoughts and feelings.
This story only took me few hours to read but I could have easily continued. Which also brings me to the way the story ended. It totally confused me! I felt that it ended so abruptly and I was left wandering if there was going to be a sequel because I feel that there easily could be. I was left wanting more!
So, Missy Johnson, if you are reading this, I would happily welcome more from Micah and Sax and the rest of the band. I'm sure there is many a story to tell from Saxon Waite and Resurrection!

After spotting the teasers to this book and reading the synopsis, I found myself really looking forward to getting my hands on this one. I'vee read other books by Missy Johnson and loved them so I couldn't wait to dive in!
From here on in, I would only look forward, and do everything in my power to live my life the way I deserved. I'd let down the only person I'd ever loved, and I was damned if I was going to let that happen again.
The prologue immediately pulled me in and I was intrigued to see the direction this story would take. For me (unfortunately) it failed to deliver in the way that I had hoped and for that I as truly gutted.
The idea of the story was one that I loved. Micah pretended to be 21 concealing her true age of 17. There were, I learnt, strong reasons for doing this. Micah had lived a depressing life and as such left home at a young age, determined to make a new life for herself. Micah had an apartment, a job and her own car. She was independent, head strong and resilient, all qualities that I admired, especially in someone so young. She also had a dream of being in the music industry so when she got offered a place in an up and coming band she was ecstatic! Micah's dream was about to come true.
Sax was a hot rock star that Micah just so happened to be joining on tour although he didn't appear to live the rock star life. No drinking. No drugs. No girls. I was surprised by this and wondered why. There was definitely more to Sax then met the eye and I couldn't wait to find out more.
Sax and Micah found themselves attracted to one another, but it wasn't just sexually. They really did click. Micah and Sax were crazy about each other and when they moved things to the bedroom. Well, they were smoking hot!! This couple could not keep their hands off each other.
"So you think I'm hot?"
"What do you think?"
"I think I want you to kiss me."
Despite Micah and Sax's intense feelings for one another, Micah's secret was casting a shadow over any hopes of a future together. I wondered how long it would be before the cat was out of the bag and when it was, how would that affect the couple?
"There is now way this could end well. The longer it goes, the worse it becomes. At some point, he is going to find out. Things always have a way of coming back to bite you on the ass."So, reading all of the above, this story sounds like it would be a fantastic read but for some reason it just did not capture me in the way that I had hoped it would. Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike the story. I just felt that maybe it was a little rushed and I wasn't given time to really get to know the characters well enough. Both Micah and Sax had stories to share but I felt that the writing only skimmed through their back stories and I felt that there was still more to discover.
On a positive note, I enjoyed the characters, not just Micah and Sax but the secondary characters too. I would love to have gotten to know them a bit more too, especially Harry and Dee. I was pretty sure something was building between those two! I also enjoyed how the book was written. It was told from both Micah and Sax's POV which I enjoyed. I prefer this way of writing as it feels like you truly get to know about the characters thoughts and feelings.

I have a confession.....I have a mad obsession with Rockstar books. I have to read any Rockstar books that i come across. So once i saw that Missy Johnsons next book was going to be a Rockstar book i couldnt wait to read it.
I really liked this book, but unfortunatly i didnt fall madly in love with it.
Micah has had a really bad start to her life. Her mother is the lowest of the low and Micah plans to escape her family home and get very far away from her mum and her abuse. The trouble with her plan is, Micah is only 14. To survive Micah pays for a new identity, changes her age to 18 and leaves.
3 years goes by and Micah is happier. She however doesnt let anybody get close to her because she cant afford to get any information mixed up and reveal her lies. She has a flat that she shares with somebody and a job. Micah has also discovered a love for singing and has been trying to get in a band for awhile. Luckly Micah is offered a audition with a up and coming band. She is so nevous that she messes it up and is devestated. To try and get another shot she sings again and this time is perfect. The band offer her a gig. If she pulls things off she can join the band. The one piece of information they didnt tell her was that the world famous, badboy of rock will be her new manager.
One road trip/band tour later, sex, lies, truths and fighting, you get to see if Micah gets her HEA.
Micah is a very strong girl. who i absolutly admired. Walking away from everything you know at 14 regardless of the situation is extremly brave. She has been through so much and done things most 14 year olds wouldnt even dream about. Then at 17 she is even more strongerr than at 14. Reading about her strength was incrediable and heart warming. I completly undersood why she never told anybody about her age, even Saxon. It was a survival technique and something that she had to do to survive, whether it was wrong or not. Micah was very mature becaus eof all her life experience. I never once felt i was reading about a 17 year old girl, like she was sopose to be. Missy did a great job at not making Micah seem young even though she was.
Saxon rose to fame at a very early age. Through being in a band, he started abusing substances and by doing so he he ruined his career and also other peoples lives dramatically. He has been off the grid, trying to turn his life around for awahile, until he starts to manager his cousins band.
Saxon used to be a bad boy but as a reader we never really saw about any of this. We only really got to see the reformed badboy. Becauase of this i felt Saxon came across a quite a weak charactor. I just really wanted more from him. His nice, sweet side was nice to read about, but id of liked the badboy to come out every now and then. I could understand why Saxon fought his feelings towsrds Micah for so long. He was her manager and he was older than her. I also understood why Micah kept from telling him her real age because he was so hung up on the age gap. I enjoyed reading about him fighting his feeling towards Micah and trying to do the right thing by her and the band. The sexual tension between them was also hot. I wish though that the sexual tension and games carried on longer between them before they gave in. It all happened very quickly.
The story was told at a good pace, but i felt some parts were slightly rushed. If the book was longer than i think the rushing wouldnt of been an issue as it would of been padded out more.
The sex scenes were well written, but not smoking hot. I liked that the sex didnt over take the book though and didnt interfer with the story as a whole.
The reason i took half a star off was beecaue of the ending. Yes, it finished on a positive note, but the story didnt actually seem finished. I was left wanting more and wanting to know how everything ended up.
Overall i did enjoy the book. Missy Johnson is a very taented writter and i love all her books. Missy wrote a rockstar book with a twist and she pulled it off in my eyes.
