I gave my heart—and my V-card—to my best friend’s brother. Five years later, he’s back... a billionaire ex–Navy SEAL with no clue he left me with a daughter.
Jackson Donovan was everything I wasn’t supposed to want—reckless, magnetic, and always halfway out the door. But he saw me. Made me laugh. Made me believe we could be something real... until he vanished without a word.
Now he’s back—brooding, successful, hotter than ever—and he still doesn't know he's a father.
I’ve raised Vanessa on my own, buried the heartbreak, built a life I can be proud of. I should hate him. I should run. But when he looks at me like he used to… touches me like no time has passed… I forget every reason I told myself not to fall again.
We agreed it was just for fun. No strings. No second chances. But secrets like mine don’t stay buried. And when he finds out the truth, it won’t just break him—it might destroy the only family I have left.
Yesterday, the author posted about the book on Facebook, and I immediately bought it. It sounded like an amazing read. But the editing was horrible. It was confusing, for example, instead of writing Charlotte, a wrong name would be in place. So you have to reread the sentence to realize that was a typo. This happened a lot. Not to mention at the end, Charlotte was talking, then 2 lines down, Jackson was the one talking. It was so confusing, that I won’t read another book by this author. Im not sure if she’s new to this, but the book was too confusing. Please spend more time editing.
As for Charlotte, I’ve never disliked the main female character until now. She’s selfish, only thinks about herself. In addition, Andrea, who needs enemies when you have a sister like that😩 I get being loyal to your friend, but there comes a time when you have to tell your friend she’s dead wrong. Not a bad story, but not great either.
I really try to find the good in all the books I read but I just couldn’t do it with this. The story idea was great. However this fell short for me. I truly did not like the FMC. She was immature, spiteful, petty, had no impulse control and was just all around selfish! The further I got into the story the more enraged I became.
This about a couple who date and after MMC gets new deployment orders, he decides to end his relationship with FMC. She goes on to have their baby and never tells him she was pregnant. Several year laters they run into each other again and MMC pursues to rekindle a relationship with FMC. She was extremely rude and felt “angry” with him because he broke up with her.
When they reconnect she is so angry that she is downright rude, doesn’t want to tell him they had a child but continuously has sex with him (Make it make sense). Her reasoning for not telling the MMC about their child was downright the most selfish excuse I ever read. The way she then reveals the news to him after hiding it for some time was despicable. MMC is rightfully angry and hurt by not only the lie but the time he has missed in his child’s life and she acts like he is in the wrong. He tries repeatedly to talk to her and she literally dodges him. The whole thing just really infuriated me.
This might be the right book for some people but it just wasn’t for me.

SECRET BABY FOR MY BEST FRIEND’S BROTHER by Amelia Perry is Jackson and Charlotte’s story told by each of them in alternating chapters. Charlotte holds a lot of anger for him since their breakup six years before, but is she justified?
When their paths unexpectedly cross, Charlotte and Jackson have trouble communicating unless it’s between the sheets. She’s kept a major secret from him since their breakup but still wants everything her way and wants to control every situation. Her daughter Vanessa is wise beyond her years especially since she has a rare medical condition.
There is anger, threats, anxiety, sadness, fear, tears, surprises, heated moments, lots of kisses and very steamy times when they take too many chances. Their feelings resurface, but is it real? There are multiple stories being told but there are some loose ends and I feel like we’re barely scratching the surface while getting to know them. There is some closure but I wish the happily ever after went just a little further.

Secret Baby For My Best Friend’s Brother is a mixture of charm, suspense, and lastly this book is a page-turner. This book follows the journey of Charolette and Jackson who are well-developed characters. Their story was beautifully written, well balanced and the final outcome for these two characters is marvelous. I LOVED learning about Charlotte and Jackson as well as seeing their love for each other come to fruition. Author Amelia Perry has created an entertaining and enjoyable romance book that captured my attention from the start of the book. Secret Baby For My Best Friend’s Brother is a book that I would give as a suggested read to anyone. I’m looking forward to seeing what else this author will write for her next book.

OMG this was a great book. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even imagine of put it down. Jackson and Charlotte story was forbidden romance . The chemistry between them was sexual tension and the physical tension between them was so intense and deep. They couldn’t fight the temptation anymore and one night with him will change her life with unexpected consequences and a pregnancy that she try to keep it a secret. How her best friends reacted to the news of this intimate relationship. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. Tropes: best friend's brother, enemies to lovers, second chance, surprise pregnancy, secret baby.
Charlotte has always crushed on her best friend's brother Jackson. Giving in to the sexual tension between them, they spend a night together but then Jackson breaks her heart by leaving. Not just her, but also their surprise baby, Vanessa. When he returns home years later, the chemistry is still palpable between them but Charlotte has more to consider than just herself now. What will happen between them?
A great story/plot with lots of secrets, surprises, tears and spice. When the truth comes to light, will she be forgiven by the people she loves?
Personally the book just wasn’t my speed but could be someone else’s. The storyline wasn’t bad but I felt there were times where I had to use my imagination to fill in the blanks. Especially towards the end. It just felt rushed to finish the books. It was a good combination of secrecy, drama, love, some suspense and a little bit of smut. So if you love all that and a short read this is a good choice for you. I did find a few spelling mistakes but nothing major.

WARNING this romance book might cause a few tears to fall from your eyes and your heart to explode due to the suspense of Jackson finding out about his little girl Vanessa. Charlotte's heart was broken when Jackson joined the Navy and left. When he shows back up Charlotte is protective of her heart and her daughter which also happens to be Jackson's. So, sit back and get ready because this romance read is taking you to a whole new level of HEAT and SECRETS with a test of a friendship between Andrea and Charlotte when everything comes out in the open.
This book is a combination of a single mom raising a child , , the memories she has of a past love and dealing with that current love and how to tell them. Wow I told you that just of the book It's the way the author we've the story together and do such a nice compact Version that you enjoy reading it and getting to know the characters well. It's a good feel good story With some ups and downs in With some ups and downs in it as like is. I enjoyed this author's story and hope to read more of her stories.
Both the FMC and MMC act like they're still teenagers. If communication issues are your kink, then this is the book for you.
On top of the grammatical errors, the book draaaaags. They have the same argument for the first 50% to finally making progress only for everything to explode to childish arguments yet again. But don't worry folks they get over it all within a 2 second conversation that's already happened about 6 times before.
It felt like I was watching a baby momma and baby daddy argue at a 7/11...
I got the read this as an ARC. It is my first Amelia Perry book. I enjoyed the story and her writing enough that I’d read more of her work. However, I didn’t completely love the characters. I’ve never been in their situation so I don’t know how I’d react but there were times I wanted to slap them both upside the head and tell them to stop being so reactionary and breathe. Over all thought I’m glad i read it and was pleased with the the book.
Jackson and Charlotte once had something great together but when he leaves for the military and bever looks back she is devastated. The premise was heartbreaking at times as well as emotional. Secrets that remain add drama and really tear at your heart, not knowing which character to support. It was a read that left me with some warring feelings but was still good.

I wanted something light and short after being on a deep fantasy binge and this was recommended by KU. However, it was pretty bad. The editing wasn’t great. The characters often said they didn’t remember things and then suddenly they did with great detail. It took me 3 days to read a 5 hour book because I just kept getting bored and not caring about the characters. There was no emotional connection and I genuinely didn’t like either MC.

I honestly struggled with the way this book was written. The plot and storyline had a great basis but there were times the timeliness jumped about with no warning. At one point either a whole day was not in place or a phone call changing the course of an evening never happened. It left gaps that drove me crazy. I really had to push myself to finish this one and I hate that.
Charlotte and Jackson have a history one of which left her with a parting gift when he skipped town. Now he is back, and the feelings are still there but when he finds out about the daughter, he knew nothing about will it change things between them. This story will keep you glued to the pages.

This book had sooo much potential, it just wasn’t there. The storyline was different, the characters mostly interesting, it just fell flat. The sexy times were less than sexy and missing important steps. Everything was rushed and expected. It could’ve been so much more if was written better.
Amazing. Likeable, relatable characters and an awesome storyline made for a five star story. Detailed, fast paced story. Some secrets and lots of suspense. Loved the main characters connection to one another. Loved this!!!.

Several times throughout the book, POV changes without clarity. Also, in the beginning, Jackson says he barely remembered their time together, but then it became that he never could stop thinking about her. Needs better grammar and more descriptions. Things happen without clear steps moving to the next encounter.
I really wanted to like this book! The story line is far fetched. Focused on something’s way too much and had something’s never mentioned again but still should have been answered/resolved. There were so many errors in the KU version. I had to go back and read paragraphs several times to understand what the heck was going on.
I actually liked this book. I think the only thing I didn’t like was that she forgave him too easily after him knowing that he had a daughter and not believing that it was his daughter I wouldn’t of forgiven him, but that’s just me. I like the storyline it had sufficient amount of smut but not detailed enough for me that’s why I gave it only 3 stars
Loved reading the amazing and awesome romance story. When Charlotte’s ex-boyfriend, Jackson, comes back to town, Charlotte doesn’t know how to tell him he is her daughter’s dad. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting love story.
Wonderful story of former lovers Jackson, an ex-Navy Seal and Charlotte, a virtual assistant. Meeting again brings up lots of feelings for both, and the secret between them. Especially enjoyed Vanessa, their daughter, and the interactions between them all. Enjoyable read.
The story was good but there so many times that they switched point of views in the chapter that should be only be from one point of view. Along with switch from first person to third person. it can make it confusing.
I loved the overall plot of this book, but it needs serious editing. The grammatical errors and changing of view points from one sentence to the next were very distracting and just threw the whole vibe off. Definitely an author to watch out for though!
OMG. This book. Both MCs are ridiculous people. After Jackson’s response there’s no way (or at least with a f*ck ton of groveling) that Charlotte should have taken him back. I strongly dislike this book.
Honestly wanted to like this book but found main character really inmature. Every reaction she gave was something I would expect from an overly emotional Teenager not a 20 something year old mom.
The storyline was pretty good but the point of view would randomly switch mid chapter in the middle of a paragraph which makes it hard to follow who the author is talking about
