Plan C: Mutually Assured Survival

Rate this book
Late in the spring of 2025, a report marked ‘Top Secret’ began circulating in the Pentagon asserting that, ‘Within three decades, as a result of globalisation, competition for resources, envy between nations and citizen/voter apathy, there will be up to twenty nuclear powers on Earth.’

The reaction to the report was mixed; half of the top brass wanted to ignore it and deny reality while the other half reacted altogether differently.

Before the end of the year, Plan C, ‘MAS’, had been devised in secret and without federal, political, senate, congressional or public approval had been enacted in a last desperate attempt to prevent WWIII.

The mysterious earthquake felt throughout the Middle East some months later was almost certainly connected to Plan C, but investigative journalist Frank Cortez just couldn’t understand what the connection could be between the two things; that was until he found himself pursued by rogue elements from within his own government after getting too close to the truth.

In this fast-paced international mystery told through the eyes of a flawed and redemption-seeking journalist following a tenuous lead that triggers international manhunts, the danger is constant; the stakes couldn’t be any higher as it becomes impossible to know who is an ally and who is an enemy as the most heavily guarded secret of the 21st century finally comes to light.
