I was living my dream… until it turned into a nightmare.
My little cabin in the woods of Vermont was everything I’d hoped it would be. Quiet. Rustic. Beautiful. On top of that, my only neighbor was the most intriguing man I’d met in years.
Then one night my cozy sanctuary was invaded, and I ended up facing off against a man who tried to kill me. On the run, injured and scared, I fled my house in search of protection.
Even in the midst of my terror, there wasn’t a question of who I would go to. Knox. My neighbor-turned-friend. A man I would have considered dating had things been different. And highly skilled from his years in the Army.
As I hoped, Knox didn’t hesitate to come to my aid. But the man who came after me is still out there, and until he’s caught, I’ll never be safe.
The last thing I was expecting was violence right outside my back door. After years in the Army, of memories I’d rather forget, I came back to Vermont in search of a new beginning. In the time I’ve been here, I found even more than I ever imagined. A home. A business. A team. And the purpose I’d been missing. My life was busy, and I liked it that way. Maybe I wasn’t happy, but I was content.
As my friends all coupled up, sometimes I thought about a relationship. But the only woman I’d consider opening up to has never given a sign she wants anything more than friendship.
Do I still think about Lark and wonder? Absolutely.
Then she comes to me for help, hurt, terrified, bleeding, and everything is thrown into stark clarity. I’ll do anything to protect her. To make her happy. To see her gorgeous smile again. And now I know friendship isn’t enough anymore.
Mountain Protector is the second book in the Green Mountain Guardians series. It has a protective alpha hero, a smart and strong heroine, a team of Special Ops veterans, lots of twists and turns, action and danger, forced proximity, and plenty of sweet and steamy moments, all set during the Christmas season! You’ll find plenty of holiday romance here! Happily-ever-after guaranteed! (can be read as a standalone)
Gia Cobie is a librarian and author living in upstate New York. In her spare time, Gia enjoys reading and spending time in the Adirondacks. She loves romantic suspense and paranormal romance, and also has a weakness for reality romance shows, wine, and buying way too many books!
Gia has quickly become one of my favourite and insta-read authors. And she surely does not let us down. A story full of danger, suspense, drama and intensity wrapped in a plot that kept me spell bound from start to finish. I read this one in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. So amazingly good!! I can't wait for the next ones to come out! Happy reading
Gia knows how to tell a story and in one of my favorite, the Brotherhood Protectors. Lark and Knox have been dancing around each other and when she runs into trouble he's by her side the whole way. Excellent read. HEA.
This is another great book and I love the story of how Lark Weber and Knox Buchanan's relationship began. Lark works for her father's company and gets to work at home during really bad weather, she does not take advantage of this but it sure comes in handy during some of the Vermont snow storms. I was finally able to buy my little cabin in the woods and I love it. Everything is so quiet, rustic and beautiful here and I have a security system so I feel safe. Extra safe if you really think about it, my friend and closest neighbor Knox Buchanan was a green beret in the military and after he retired he started working for Green Mountain Guardian which is a security company, so there is no doubt that he will keep me safe. He also runs his own construction company and has helped me with repairs on the house a few times. He is so nice and I feel that he would like to ask me out and I would gladly go, but he hesitates for some reason, so maybe one day he will ask me or I will get up the courage to ask him.
One night my quiet, peaceful life changed in an instant and became my worst nightmare. I was up late reading just from the light on my cell phone. I could not put the book down which is probably a good thing. I was reading and I thought I heard a noise, but then I did not hear anything more so I though the house was settling. A few minutes later I heard a noise again. This time I got up to investigate, grabbed my gun from the bedside table and proceeded to the hallway. Then I saw the intruder, a big tall man with a mask with a gun in his hand. He told me that he was going to kill me and just as he shot I turned my body but he still shot me in the arm. So I took aim and shot him back and I hit him in the stomach. He went to his knees and yelled some profanities at me and I hurriedly squeezed past him and ran for help. I ran out of the house and I could hear him trying to follow me. I knew I had to get to Knox and he would protect me.
Knox had been awake playing a game on the phone with one of his buddies when he heard the shot and by the time he heard the second shot his coat was on and he grabbed his gun to go help. I met him on the way to my house and explained what happened or tries too. I was so cold my teeth were chattering and I had not taken the time to put on shoes. Knox put his coat on me and scooped me in his arms and then handed me his rifle and we went back to his house. The police came as well as a couple of Knox's buddies. The all looked around and could find a blood trail but not the injured man. I stayed the rest of the night at his house and we would decide what to do in the morning.
So what happens from here? Do they ever find the shooter? Will he still be alive? How will I ever feel safe again? This is the part where I let you read the rest of the book as I do not want to spoil it for you. Enjoy and plan on reading the entire book just so you can find out what happens.
I LOVE protector romances, so I was hyped fot this book!
Unfortunately it did not deliver. The suspense was gone after a third of the book, then we got a loooooong slog of Christmas themed chapters without a plot. In the end there were some suspenseful pages but for me it was too little too late.
The weirdest thing about this book is that the FMC meets the MMC's friends or he has long inner monologues about people living in a different state (off the top of my head in total 10 people, partners not included) while the FMC has one (1) friend who is mentioned in conversation once and not introduced to the MMC.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Man, oh, man. These books just keep getting better and better. One of my favourite parts of Gia’s books is how all her series are set in the same universe and you’re always guaranteed to see your old favourites show up (in this instance, we get Blade & Arrow and Bravo Team Easter eggs).
And if that wasn’t enough, this book is set over Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the holiday vibes were immaculate. Lark gives me a run for my money when it comes to how much she loves Christmas (even down to the little holly tattoo).
5/5, another hit, and another one to add to my to be reread list.
Add this one to your TBR in time for its December release!
*I am on Gia’s ARC team and this review was left voluntarily*
Another great book in this series. Lark faced multiple challenges but Knox was always there to protect and save her. It was well written, had great characters, including ones from other books, the story line was impressive and kept you on your toes, all around a good book.
For someone who has so little personality, shocked so many ppl want to kill this lady. There is NO PLOT!!! An insult to VT. Also dying to know wtf a private security company is doing in rural Vermont. Doesn’t seem to make sense, economically. Montpelier currently has a population of 8k

Mountain Protector is the second book in Green Mountain Guardians. This fast-paced page-turner captivates readers with skillful storytelling featuring a protective alpha hero, a smart and strong heroine, a team of Special Ops veterans, lots of twists and turns, and action and danger during Christmas season. Mountain Protector is an action-packed military romantic suspense that weaves a gripping narrative filled with danger, intrigue, and romance, yet poignant, capturing the complexity of emotions and relationships amidst suspense and small-town charm.
Lark’s tranquil life in the picturesque Vermont during holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas) is shattered when an unwelcome visitor disrupts her sense of security, igniting a perilous chain of events that puts her life in risk. Despite her narrow escape to safety, the threat looms, as the assailant remains on the run, leaving Lark in a constant state of fear and anxiety until he is apprehended. In the midst of this turmoil, Knox, her neighbor and a former Army veteran, emerges as an unexpected ally. Having retreated to Vermont to find solace from his own inner demons, Knox has developed a quiet but profound connection with Lark. His feelings for her have deepened over time, even if Lark has never openly acknowledged the attraction between them. As danger danger looms over Lark once more, Knox's instinct to protect kicks into overdrive, compelling him to confront his own past while standing as Lark’s shield against the shadows threatening to engulf her. Set in a small town rich in charm, this story explores the themes of second chances, friends to lovers and forced proximity. Lark and Knox’s journey reveals how vulnerability can lead to strength, and how the bonds of protection, friendship and love can blossom in the most unexpected places. They have unique connection and off-the-charts chemistry. Together, they navigate danger, weaving a narrative that shows the importance of finding peace amidst chaos and the courage it takes to embrace new beginnings. As their bond deepens and chemistry ignites, both Lark and Knox need to lean on each other and confront their fears.
Amazing addition to this series. I found it to be an enjoyable read, filled with a rich diversity of characters and dash of danger/mystery.
By the time Lark found herself staring down the barrel of a gun for the fourth time (each occasion courtesy of a different assailant), I couldn’t decide if she was the unluckiest woman alive or just a magnet for bedlam. Yet, through no fault of her own, trouble seemed to dog her every step. What struck me most about Lark, though, was her grit and determination to keep going, even when the odds were stacked against her. Of course, let’s be real, her survival might’ve been a different story altogether without Knox. Knox was the quintessential ex-military hero: stoic, sharp, and fiercely capable. But what made him stand out was his surprising vulnerability, especially when it came to Lark. This wasn’t just a man with a darker side, which emerged a time or two to devastating effect when it came to protecting Lark, but also a man whose tenderness and care shone through in the quieter moments. His protective instinct kicked into high gear from the moment he found Lark running barefoot through the snowy forest after someone broke into her home and the way he looked after her was equal parts swoon-worthy and heart-melting. The story’s action-packed twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. And while I’ll admit the reasoning behind the attacks on Lark was a bit hard to swallow, the suspense and nail-biting tension more than made up for it with each hair-raising scene handled with a deft touch. On the romantic side, I absolutely adored how Lark and Knox’s connection unfolded. Their mutual attraction simmered beneath the surface, with both of them mistakenly assuming the other wasn’t interested. Watching their slow, tentative dance toward each other was deeply satisfying, especially as their close proximity forced them to confront their feelings. As this was my first book by Gia, I was thoroughly intrigued by the Green Mountain Guardians team. Enzo, Gabe, and Alec each caught my attention, and the camaraderie among them added a layered dynamic to the story. You could truly feel the depth of their bond and how much they had each other’s backs. The road to Lark and Knox’s happy ending was paved with danger, heartbreak, and more than a few close calls, but the journey was absolutely worth it. This gripping blend of action, romance, and heartfelt moments left me eager to dive into more of Gia’s work. If you love stories with high stakes, sizzling chemistry, and a hero who’ll do whatever it takes, this one’s for you! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved the book and the series. Gia writes books about women who love the men who are willing to protect their woman at all costs. This book is no different, Knox who lives close to Lark is attracted to her but is worried that she only sees him as a friend and neighbor. Lark to some extent gives him that impression because she has had some real loser BFs in her past. Better to be friends than hurt again is kind of her initial motto. That changes when someone breaks into her house, and she shoots him and escapes out the back door in the snowy nighttime headed for Knox’s place. Knox hears what he thinks is a gunshot (having been in the special forces he knows that sound) coming from Larks home and he runs out to see if she needs help. Luck for both he finds her and brings her to his home before she freezes. And so, begins the internal battles both Knox and Lark have at fighting the feelings that they have and not wanting to rush things. It’s fun to read how Gia nails the guy’s perspective on questioning each and everything he does or wants to do with Lark and how he slowly realizes she is his everything and he would rather die than live without her. That a man who has never known love in his world like the love he feels for Lark is all consuming. Similar for Lark she is finding out her feels for Knox are so different than any other man she has ever dated or been around but is wondering if he wants to just remain friends. Until she takes a chance, and he accepts her advance and oh yah, life does get much better. Unfortunately, she still has a person who wants to kill her out there yet. Knox gives her the pendant with the tracker just to make sure if he is not around her, she still has some protection. And she needs it, but he does come to her rescue and it’s like the catalyst for him asking a very important question. Love this series and the back and forth the men and women have in deciding who will make the first move to follow the feelings they have for the other person. Gia writes a book that is fast paced, and exciting to read. Highly recommend all her books, they are similar in nature as highly trained ex special forces men and women who love as hard, and they have trained for the rest of us who do not know what they have given up for us.
Mountain Protector is the second book in Gia Cobie’s new fantastic Green Mountain Guardians series. It is a military romantic suspense story filled with amazing characters, intense chemistry and inspiring characters that takes place during the holiday season. It was written in first person, from the point of view of both the hero, retired army veteran Knox Buchanan and the heroine, Lark Weber.
A quiet place work away from the city was all Lark wanted when she moved into a beautiful cabin in the woods of Vermont. She never expected to be chased from her home by a man intend on killing her, nor did she expect to be drawn to her intriguing neighbour when he comes to her rescue. Knox has been drawn to his beautiful neighbour since the moment he helped her clean her gutters, but when she comes to him terrified and hurt, he will do anything to keep her safe. But will Know and the resources of the Green Mountain Guardians be able to keep her safe from multiple unknown threats? Read it and find out!
I loved the connection that was evident between Lark and Knox.Their interactions were open, honest and deeply intense. Their paths were meant to cross. This was a fantastic addition to this amazing series! All the books in the Green Mountain Guardian series contain a happily ever after and can be read as a standalone. However, reading it in order will give you a better appreciation for the characters and the overall series storyline. I can’t wait to read story the next story in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another splendid addition to the series, wonderful characters and scenario that’s riveting Lark Webber believes that she has finally found her dream a home in the woods that tick all of her dream boxes which are so important, she is also working as a CPO for her father so everything as far as she is concerned is going well and she is happy and content. How can everything have changed so dramatically in a matter of one night really when she had been attacked whilst she was in her home she believed was safe and secure and if it had not been for her neighbour Knox her injuries may have been more severe, possibly even fatal. Knox believes that Lark will be safer on the Green Mountain Guardians compound, he is a former Green Beret and since finding his calling working with the Guardians who help those both able to pay for assistance but also take on those cases unable to afford such specialist assistance. Knox wanting to ensure that the safety that seems to have once again fallen on Larks life continues believes it is a good idea to give her a necklace with an inbuilt tracking device, so that if the need ever arises, she can be easily be found and in good time. This is a wonderful read I guarantee that once you begin reading it will be impossible to put the book down until you reach the final page. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
She moved to the mountain to escape the city and enjoy some quiet time. He moved back after a career in the military and opened a construction company. They are neighbors, maybe even friends, but everything changes the night she is attacked in her home and the first place she can think to run is to him. When I first got this book, I thought it was a novella so I was surprised at the detail with the character development and the plot line. It is in fact a full length novel. There is a long slow burn for these two with a lot of mutual pining. They both have experienced things in their path that have left them vulnerable which causes them to be cautious moving forward. This is a really sweet story of redemptive love, becoming friends, trust, and of course, desire. His protective instincts kick in, and there isn’t anything he won’t do to protect her. She is all in for her hot mountain man, and the way he loves her, makes her feel cherished. Things get spicy, and the way he reacts to her blushing everytime she thinks of him naked… sizzle. You introduced to his military friends, some of which have stories of their own. You fall in love with their sleepy little mountain town. And you cheer for them finding their forever.

Lark Weber finally has her dream home, in the woods of Vermont and her career working as CFO for her father. Life is good, until it isn’t. She thought her home was secure, until it wasn’t. Why would someone try to hurt her, kill her? Although injured, she fled and was saved by her neighbor, Knox Buchanan. Knox takes her to his cabin and then to the Green Mountain Guardians compound. He is a former Green Beret and since retiring he has found his calling with the Guardians and the work that the retired military do, both for pay and their pro bono work for those in need who can’t afford private security. When the police believe that the threat is now contained, the Guardians continue to investigate as to why she was targeted. She hadn’t thought that Know would be more than her neighbor, but the slow attraction building between them offers them both a chance at a future relationship, and maybe more? To ensure her future safety, Knox gifts her with a necklace that has the tracking device. When he learns of a possible threat, will the necklace allow him to find her in time? A truly lovely romantic suspense! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
Part of the Green Mountain Guardians get comfortable with your favorite snack and glass of wine. Lark has worked with her father for a while from home, especially during the cold winters especially after buying a rustic but beautiful home out in the middle of nowhere pretty much, a good security system, a retired military neighbor so she feels safe out there and enjoys the beauty of nature quietness of it all. Until someone breaks into her home attempts to shoot her well, he did shoot her, but she shot him as well in trying to get away. Knox sexy as all get out retired Green Beret, owns his own construction company also, works with Green Mountain Guardian security company watches out for his neighbor even helps with repairs around her place and it gives them both peace of mind. Until he hears gunshots from her place immediately he knows something is wrong running to assist her and his buddies looked everywhere for her intruder but found nothing staying with him allowed them to get to know each other but who is the shooter, why did he choose her, where are they headed considering the magnetic pull between them grows the more time they spend with each /around each and where are they headed will it lead to happiness?
This is the second book I've read from this author and she's quickly becoming one of my favorite. If you like overprotective men and sassy women then this is the story for you.
Knox and Lark are neighbors, both have feelings for the other but keep things in the friendzone. Lark has had some shitty boyfriends and rather has Knox as a friend then ruin things between them. Knox would like the friendship to be a bit more but since she's never given a hint of interest, he keeps his feelings to himself.
When Lark is attacked in her home and shoots the man, she flees to Knox for help. Having heard the gunshots, Knox rushes to her aid and vows to protect her. Being together nearly 24/7 changes their relationship, their attraction can't be denied anymore and they tentatively give in to their feelings.
Together with the Green Mountain Guardians and Knox' skills as an ex Green Beret, they set out to find out who's behind the attack.
This was a great story, lots of action, tender moments between the MC's and great cameo's of characters of previous books.
Can't wait to read the next Gia Cobie!!
*ARC kindly received from the author via Booksirens. This is my honest review.*
This is another Gia Cobie winner in the Green Mountain Guardians series. Lark Weber has a wonderful life, or so she thinks. She is the CFO in her father's company and decided to move to a cabin in the Vermont woods, as an alternative to living full-time in the "big city" in Vermont. She has a very hunky neighbor who is a former Green Beret and protector, Knox. Someone is trying to kill Lark and she has no idea why or whom would want to harm her.
There is a break in one night at her cabin and Lark, strong independent person that she is, grabs her gun and shoots him, and she is shot by the intruder. The one person she knows who can help her is Knox. She runs through the snow in her nightclothes to reach him and he immediately steps in, as well as his fellow protectors.
There is so much intrigue and danger facing them until they discover the absolute surprise of who is after her. Of course, in the process, they find their happily ever after with one another. It's a wonderful story and Cobie is the master of her craft. I received an advanced review copy for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
I am a huge fan of the Brotherhood Protector books! This book definitely doesn't disappoint. Strong female who desperately needs a protector. An alpha male who will do anything to protect her. Knox has been intrigued by Lark for some time. When Lark's life is threatened, Knox doesn't hesitate, he goes straight into protector mode. With the help of his entire team, Knox takes Lark somewhere that he knows is safe, where is knows she will be protected while they try to figure out who wants her dead. Through delicious chicken soup, The Golden Gingerbread Bachelor and of course some Hallmark movies, Lark really has no defense against falling for her protector. The villain of this story, someone who Lark should be able to trust to never do her harm, yet does! I am fairly new to Gia Coble's books, yet she has me hooked! I can't really tell you a favorite part, this is a book you will enjoy from cover to cover, with a villain you will love to hate!! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is book two of the Green Mountain Guardians and this is a must read.
Gia brings her characters to life with her fantastic writing and gets you hooked immediately.
This book is about a woman named Lark Webber who leaves the big city and moves to cabin in the woods for peace and tranquility.
She has only seen her neighbor Knox on a few occasions but knows he isn't far away.
One night Lark goes to bed but is awakened by a noise and even though she has security she keeps hearing things. She silently gets out of bed, grabs her gun and heads toward the noise. There in the shadows is a man pointing a gun at her. She immediately fires her gun as he does the same. Then she runs out the door and heads for Knox's house.
Lark and Knox become closer and he only wants to protect her.
This book has so many twists and turns that I had no idea who the person was that wants her dead.
In "Mountain Protector", Gia Cobie expertly combines romance, suspense, and holiday warmth. Lark's peaceful life in a Vermont cabin is shattered by a violent break-in, leaving her with no one to turn to but her neighbor, Knox. A former Army vet, Knox is the perfect protector, and as he fights to keep her safe, their connection deepens from friendship to undeniable attraction.
This story has it all: a protective, alpha hero, a resilient heroine, and a steady undercurrent of suspense that keeps the pages turning. Cobie masterfully balances action with heartfelt moments, making it a perfect holiday read for fans of romantic suspense. Lark and Knox’s chemistry and Cobie’s deft storytelling make this a thoroughly satisfying, feel-good romance with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

Lark and Knox are neighbors in the woods of Vermont. He is a former Green Beret and now owns his own construction business but works with the Green Mountain Guardians on the side helping to rescue people. Lark was tired of living in the city, so she moved to the woods. Knox doesn’t mind helping her out when she needs it and they’ve built a nice friendship. When an unexpected threat comes to Lark, she runs to Knox for help. He immediately takes her into his protection and involves the GMG to help. I loved the chemistry between them, the tension builds and builds until it explodes. I enjoyed these two, as they navigated the emotions of being in close proximity. Add in the unexpected twists and it was hard to put down. I have to go back and read Mountain Hero, the first book in this series. I’m looking forward to the next.
Lark moves in to her dream cabin in the Green Mountains. Knox is her nearest neighbor, and he has helped her with some repairs, cleaning around her place. Knox owns his own construction company and is a Green Mountain Guardian, but has his own scars from serving in the military.
One night Lark’s house is broken into and she is shot. She escapes and runs to Knox’s house. The GMG take on her protective detail.
There are mystery gunmen, crazed construction workers, secret libraries, a neat twist at the end and LOTS of Hallmark Christmas movies!
I don’t want to give too much away, just know this is a wonderful story of 2 people helping each other heal while falling in love. With all the passion and intrigue we have come to expect from Gia.
Lark, a bundle of determination, self-professed Christmas fiend and wearer co-ordinated accessories determined by the season, has opted to move out of her comfort zone, the city, to a small town in the Green Mountains. Her neighbour, Knox, is retired military, expert gutter cleaner, protective and a team player.
As to be expected from Gia Cobie, the story is fast-paced, full of surprises, action, romance, intrigue and mystery. The way she dives in, we quickly get to know who the characters are and how they tick. We get to see Bliss through their eyes, have updates on characters from earlier books and other series - like having a catch at a family gathering.
Great escapism, holiday without leaving home.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Lark and Knox were another great a couple added to this author’s world of danger, action and (of course) love. An armed intruder started a whirlwind of chaos for Lark but also opened her up to more with a neighbour she had been admiring from afar…
Filled with tension and mystery as well as friendship and love, this was a treat from the start. Knox and his friends were solidly behind Lark, giving her what she needed to feel protected and cared for. Even though she was scared, she was standing beside Knox and the people surrounding her. Knox deserved someone at his back too and she was going to be that person.
Lots of soulful heart to heart conversations and wildly romantic interludes meant this suspenseful story had it all…
*I happily reviewed this story **Thank you to the Author and BookSirens
It starts off brilliantly, the middle part drags, then it gets good again.
Extra points because he doesn’t call her hun. Not once. 😀 I did actually enjoy this one better than the first. Knox is really sweet but he doesn’t constantly question himself about everything like Enzo did. There are still some mistakes and of course they make stupid mistakes which has been the same in every book.
Knox and Lark are neighbours as Lark has just moved into her log cabin house. One night when she is attacked in her house Knox comes to her rescue, and is amazing with her. As they have no idea why she was attacked or who by, she moves onto the Green Guardian land for her safety. After the initial beginning it does drag a bit and I was struggling to read it, but it does get better again. The s*x scenes are actually better as well. Double yay!
Mountain Protector is an emotional rollercoaster ride full of suspense, action, brotherhood, slow burn romance and found family. This author has an way with weaving an intricate storyline with memorable characters. Knox the battle hardened warrior and Lark the big city Ceo who wanted out of the city for her sanity and peace are perfect for each other. Big protective alpha men who would do anything for the women they love always make my soul sing. The storyline keeps you on your toes while trying to figure out who the villain is. Secondary characters make this story so dang good and give great depth to the joy of reading this book. Another great story by an author who cannot seem to write a bad book.
This is the second book in this intriguing series, and this is Knox and Lark’s story. Lark is content living in her cosy sanctuary in the woods in Vermont, and Know, who is ex-military and is working for a security team, is her neighbor. Lark comes face to face with the man who wants to kill her, and she runs, injured and bleeding, and Know comes to her aid. Will Knox be able to Lark safe and protected? This is a well written action packed, slow burn, with family, friendships, danger, suspense, intrigue, forced proximity, challenges, friends / lovers, twists and turns, and love, which leads to an entertaining, spicy, and sweet addictive holiday romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Thanks to BookSirens for this arc. I absolutely loved everything about this. It's neighbors to lovers dual pov from FMC Lark and MMC Knox. Lark wanted to get away from city life to slow down and enjoy her life in the rural area and one night in her cabin she gets spooked before bed and she finds herself in danger so she runs from her cabin in snow up to her knees through the woods to her neighbor, Knox she knowing that he has a military background. Her injuries cause her to spend more time with Knox and overtime feelings begin to show and they both fall hard for each other. This is romantic suspense and it has Christmas in it so it's cute for the holidays. I loved the characters and the banter between them I highly recommend!
Knox and Lark's story is a heartwarming, edge of your seat romance. They started out as friends and neighbors. They got close fast when Lark finds herself in danger. Knox and his team will stop at nothing until the danger to Lark is over. I love the fact that the Green Mountain Guardians are more than co workers and friends... they are a family that helps each other, no matter what. Knox and Lark's story is a definite 10 out of 10 would recommend. The road to their HEA is not easy but they are determined to be together no matter what. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.
