Cursed Princess Club #5

Cursed Princess Club, Vol. 5

Rate this book
For fans of Disney princesses and Sailor Moon-style girl power, Cursed Princess Club is a lighthearted story of a young royal named Gwendolyn who finds her place in a world obsessed with princes, beauty, and happily-ever-afters.
Simply because you're cursed doesn't mean you're not special.

Gwendolyn, the youngest of the king's three daughters, is living proof that princesses don't always have it all. She isn't like a typical fairy-tale princess, or other princesses in the Pastel Kingdom. In spite of her big heart and love of baking, Gwendolyn isn't particularly attractive. Unlike her sisters who have woodland creatures do their hair and makeup, or have flowers blossom wherever they sleep, Gwendolyn is a bit . . . different.

When her father proposes marriage for her and her sisters to make an alliance with the Plaid Kingdom, it breaks Gwendolyn's heart to hear that Prince Frederick thinks she's "really ugly." Overwhelmed and ashamed, she runs away into the forest and encounters the twisted world of the Cursed Princess Club, where her life will never be the same.

In this fifth book in the series, Gwendolyn continues to blend her Cursed PrIncess Clubworld with her real world-and finally hosts her dinner party. All she has to do is manage seating arrangements, organize the catering, lead good conversations . . . and convince her family that her guests from the Cursed Princess Club are completely normal, not-cursed princesses.

If that's not enough to juggle, the entire Plaid Kingdom royal family is joining too. The event does give Gwen the opportunity to spend more time with Frederick, who she continues to grow closer with despite still struggling with her self-esteem and shattered reflections. Meanwhile, the Cursed Princess Club members are on a mission-besides supporting Gwen, they plan to scour the Pastel Palace for hidden secrets about Gwen's mysterious mother.

This volume collects episodes 94 to 110 of the hit WEBTOON series with over 285 million views.

Finally, an update on Volume 5!! That cover is swoonworthy! 😍

As a policy, I never rate or review books I haven't read, but I will make an exception for this one as I have read the entire series through the WebToon app. If you think this series is only for teen girls, you are sorely mistaken. This is among the best graphic novel series I have ever read!

I am rooting for the author to complete the adaptation of her work from the single-scroll WebToon layout to this graphic novel format quickly and smoothly. She had mentioned on Instagram that there might be about 10-11 graphic novels to cover all four seasons, so we have a long wait ahead of us.

This fifth volume, containing episodes 94 to 110 (thus completing Season 3 and stepping into Season 4), is due for publication in November 2025. In the meantime, you can either read the series through Webtoon or get your hands on the first four graphic novels. You won't be disappointed!

_______________

For your reference: here’s a comparative listing of the episodes on the WEBTOON app and the physical graphic novels.

WEBTOON:
Season 1: Episodes 1 to 29.
Season 2: Episodes 30 to 61.
Season 3: Episodes 62 to 106.
Season 4: Episodes 107 to 173.
The end.

PHYSICAL GRAPHIC NOVELS:
Volume 1: Complete Season 1, Episodes 1 to 29.
Volume 2: Complete Season 2, Episodes 30 to 61.
Volume 3: Season 3, Episodes 62 to 77.
Volume 4: Season 3, Episodes 78 to 93.
Volume 5 (To be released in November 2025): Season 3-4, Episodes 94 to 110.

Thank you SO MUCH to NetGalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group | WEBTOON Unscrolled for the digital ARC for review!

I was extremely excited to see that the next volume of my favorite graphic novel series of all time was available on NetGalley. This series means literally so much to me. It has EVERYTHING I am looking for in a graphic novel.

This volume did not disappoint, it actually EXCEEDED my expectations, which might I add are very hard to exceed considering my adoration of this series. This is probably my favorite volume so far.

I loved how every single plot point that has come up in the past has been expanded upon in this issue while also adding new and interesting plot points. We have been waiting for a long time to get more information on Gwen’s mother and I am so glad that we got some payoff this volume.
I am beyond excited to see what happens to these quirky and unique characters as their journeys continue in further volumes.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: PLEASE READ THIS SERIES. You will not regret it. I will continue to recommend this series and also buy the physical copies when they come out.

Excelente.

Thank you to NetGalley and Wattpad Webtoon Book Group for a free eARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Volume 5 of Cursed Princess Club picks up where the previous volume left off. In this volume we experience the aftermath of Prez’s confession, namely Whitney’s place in the club. Another familiar face makes her return. Meanwhile Gwen frantically prepares for her dinner party and her growing feelings for Prince Frederick. The Cursed Princess Club has a secret mission at the party: to find answers for the mysteries of Gwen’s family.

The illustrations and humor continue to be top notch. As someone who read the original release of the series on Webtoon and loved it, I eagerly await the publication of this volume and future volumes.

Crazy series!
Not all the jokes were family-friendly, but the art is fantastic and the characters are lovable. The story changes a lot as it goes on, with the focus moving from Gwen’s family to her personal life to her mother’s story, but it ends up making sense. Would reread; would not recommend to younger readers.

It wasn't the exact ending I was hoping for but seeing Gwen get her somewhat happy ending is the best I could get. No, I didn't read the bonus material. All I can say is thank you LambCat for an awesome Series and can't wait to see the Novel's next.

Highly recommend if you love reading about curses and princesses.

I stumbled upon these graphic novel series at BBW 2024 and although I found volume #1 and #2, I decided to buy only the first one just in case it was not really my cup of tea. Plus, volume #2 was priced much higher than volume #1 for some reason. But now I regret it so much! I fell in love with these series so deeply and I can see myself wanting to re-read it in the future.

In Pastel Kingdom, there are three princesses and a prince. They’re all beautiful, especially the prince and have fairy tale-like princess powers like animals who help them and flowers that bloom around them. Oh, except the last princess, who was born for the lack of a better word, ugly. But since all in the family never treated her differently, she never thought of herself as lacking in the good looks department, until she overheard her betrothed calling her ugly behind her back. One day she stumbled upon a group of monster-looking people who turned out to be part of the Cursed Princess Club, a club where people who were different and cursed gathered for safety. She felt somewhat belonged even though she was not in any way cursed. But she then learned that being accepted by others and being accepted by yourself are two very different things.

This book featured almost every single thing that I like: fairy tale retelling, self-love, genuine friendship, diversity, quiet love that builds up, strong characterization, learning from failures, beauty standards, gender-bending traits and hilarity. The author’s humour is just top-notch to me, I honestly don’t know how LambCat came up with some of the things they did. I found myself laughing out loud so many times because a lot of the jokes came out of nowhere!

I can see myself re-reading these graphic novels a few times, and yes, I would highly recommend this series to anyone who is interested! If you want to know if this is something that you’d enjoy, you could try reading it from Webtoon first. I rated all of the books in the series 5 shining bright stars!

I was mistakenly under the impression that this was the final installment in this series and I'll be honest, I'm more than a little disappointed that it wasn't. This volume, for me, was much weaker than the previous few and felt really stretched out.

It was still cute, but had less humor and emotional moments. There was definitely some plot points leading us to an ending and this one felt very much like a lead up book. Hoping that the next one is the conclusion.

Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This volume is one of my favourites in the series, I had so much fun reading it! From the first volume, I fell in love with the characters, especially the cursed princess club. I really enjoy the witty style of writing, and reading this volume made me smile the entire time. I even chuckled a few times.

I felt that the storyline continued fluently from the last volume, and maintained a good pace throughout. I was very intrigued with where the plot was going, and with what we found out towards the end, and I cannot wait for the next volume.

The art style manages to incorporate the humour and wit, without being too over-the-top or flashy. Overall, I think the author does a brilliant job at creating a story you're interested in, with lovable and complex characters, and an art style that adds to the funny and charming writing.

Thank you Netgalley for this ebook!

We rejoin Gwen and the CPC as they deal with pretending to be normal to attend Gwen's dinner. While there, the CPC members seek out answers to who Gwen's mother is, in the hopes of helping Gwen with loving herself. On the romance front, Gwen grows closer to the guy she likes, and her sisters deal with their own relationship woes.

The story of loving yourself, no matter what you're dealing with, and acceptance on a range of spectrums, continues in this lovely book. I love seeing what Gwen and the CPC are up to, I'm hopeful she will get to the place she needs to be. I also appreciate the display that healing isn't linear, with characters doing better and worse as they encounter different things in their lives. I also enjoy the wide variety of characters, that's a lot of fun. So far, I think Gwen's sisters deserve better, but that's a separate issue.

Thank you to Webtoon and NetGalley for the eGalley to review, because the moment I saw that this was available, I snatched up the opportunity so quickly!

As always, LambCat is doing an amazing job at telling this story and I eagerly gobbled all the new lore and character development we got in this fifth volume. So many things were confirmed or subverted that I didn't know what to expect--which, in this case, is a good thing, because it kept the story fresh and riveting. Several times I had to force myself to stop reading because of how much of a page-turner it was! And I will continue to diligently stop myself from reading the online version for the rest, because I want to give these print copies of the story the love they deserve.

If you've made it this far into the series or have been a fan of it since its serialization began online, you won't be disappointed.

I was so excited to get my hands on the unscrolled version earlier. I’ve been obsessed with this story since happening upon volume 1. This graphic novel is for a slightly older teen to adult. I think some themes are for an older crowd. If you liked any of the earlier novels you’ll love this one as well.

We see the continuation of Gwen and Fredrick’s relationship. As they are still trying to understand and realize their feelings for each other. While their friendship is growing, we see their sisters have issues with their betrothed but continue to discuss and figure out who each other are.

We also FINALLY get to the well alluded dinner party. And while things go a little haywire, will Gwen, the CPC and even Fredrick be able to save it?

Plot twist Frederick dad's is the main villain in this story n I understand his reason. Gwen meet her mom in her dreams is really heartwarming. Cpc Team up with Gwen's siblings against plain kingdom to save Gwen - to be honest - Lorena(Gwen's sister) is kinda badass in a fight especially prez. Overall there's funny scenes. Well I kinda ship prez with Whitney. Gwen sister's begin to learned the truth about Frederick who hate Gwen(season 1) n begin to hate the guy they're loved - that's pretty messed up. Frederick's mom got her screen time n being a diva especially their sheep. Gwen's dad heard the news from Gwen n her sisters about his best friend invaded his place n got riot 😂😂.

This series was a wild ride. To be completely honest, I didn’t think I would enjoy this very much but somebody gave me a copy of volume 1, so I gave it a chance and I was so surprised! It’s so funny, but also so heartwarming and surprisingly emotional.

I loved all of the cursed princess club members and Gwen’s family so much. I love that they didn’t treat her any differently and saw her as beautiful.

The part at the end with the mom being in the portrait made me so emotional but it also made me smile.

I’ve loved this series for a long time, and it was so nice to finally see some development about Gwen’s background! Watching her grow and come out of her shell throughout this series has been incredibly heartwarming, though she still has a ways to go. I also really loved watching Fredrick come out of his shell and act on his feelings. The pacing was great and honestly the character development is phenomenal! I CAN’T WAIT for the next volume.

Thank you to NetGalley and WEBTOON for an advanced e-reader copy of this graphic novel in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely love The Cursed Princess Club by LambCat and can’t recommend this series enough! This is book #5, and it continues to captivate me with its emotional depth and the new layer of mystery surrounding the princess’s mother. Like in the previous books, Gwendolyn is still grappling with self-image and identity, but I’m so happy to see her surrounded by such a supportive family and friends. Can’t wait for the next graphic novel to dive deeper into the story!

I love this series so much! The story line and illustrations are amazing. There has been so much character growth the past couple of volumes, and I am here for it! We are also making headway on some mysteries surrounding some of our characters, which is so exciting. I'm beyond eager to continue the story and see what comes next!

Loved the latest installment in the Cursed Princess Club series! I thought this was meant to be the last one in the series, but apparently not.

Lots of funny antics at the dinner party. I’m really liking Whitney. Curious to see how things keep unfolding! I always wish I could binge more of these quicker—I finish each one feeling unsatisfied and wanting more 😅

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

In book 5, Gwendolyn is hosting a dinner for her school to show her dad how much she’s learned. However, things don’t go exactly as planned when she ends up with a few extra guests—and the girls posing as her classmates from her club! Meanwhile, they are exploring her castle, trying to find something to help her out. This continues to be such a fun and unique series with lots of charm and creativity.

⭐ 4/5.

I have been waiting forever for Volume 5! I love Gwen’s journey of self-discovery with humor, heart, and just the right amount of royal awkwardness. I admittedly was not as into this installment as I was the others, but I still enjoyed how the story deepens emotionally while keeping its signature charm and wit. A touching, funny, and empowering end to a super fun series.

Cursed Princess Club, Vol. 5 continues the beloved Lambcat series about a group of cursed princesses who bond together as a result of their curses and who work together to find cures for their afflictions. It's always an entertaining read, and this installment ends on two cliffhangers. I can't wait to get to read the next volume.

I read it on Webtoon and really loved it
It was a mix of fantasy, drama, humor, and psychology, and the whole time I just wanted to know what would happen next.
At some points, I really related to Gwen, and honestly, the things the story said about self-love were so important.
