She made her debut in September 2003 in the monthly manga magazine Nakayoshi with her story, Tenshi no Tamago ("Angel's Egg", no relation to the anime movie of the same name). Gokkun! Pūcho is considered her best representative work. Tokyopop has licenced it under the title Pixie Pop. All of her works are published by Kodansha, and they are enjoyed mainly by preteen and teen girls. None of her series have yet become anime.
This manga really makes the reader ask, how many contrivances can they handle?
Initially, I liked the story. The premise was a little formulaic, the plot a little predictable, but Mito and Ruka were cute enough to overlook it. Thankfully the main story had only a few contrivances I would call truly bad (cough cough, secret twin brother + oh my god her parents aren't actually dead!). But then it kept going. For a few volumes now, we've had to deal with insane amounts of fanservice nonsense, contrivances that are genuinely too ridiculous to be enjoyable (gender swaps in the opposite direction, going to an academy for a secondary harem, forgetting a ton of elements from the main story, an accidental adopted daughter, etc.). This final volume ends like a bad cartoon for kids with everyone getting a quickly wrapped up happy ending with some moments of attempted angst, and all around just fanservice.
Frankly, the main story would have been fine, but then it kept going. The main story would have gotten a 5 if it ended at volume 10. And here we are, at volume 14, with a 3. I'm genuinely convinced the series was originally meant to end at 10, but someone said "more" and the author just did whatever, because what else are you going to do beside shounen nonsense at that point?

This series was a rollercoaster. There were some highs, but the lows were downright painful. This volume had me laughing, mostly because of how ridiculously bad it was. The climax came out of nowhere, and the ending was just as absurd as the series itself. Honestly, I didn’t even realize I’d missed an entire volume. Even after finishing the volume I missed (AND rereading volume 14) it didn’t do much to fill in the gaps or save the ending.
On the whole, this series felt like a beginner's introduction to shounen-ai. It's what I'd call ‘delicious trash.’ Objectively, it's not great, but there's something oddly charming about it. It's a quick and easy read, nothing too heavy, and that's kind of what it’s good for. Switching of your mind for a few hours and focusing on something light hearted.
The art was definitely the highlight for me, it's the main reason I even stuck around with the series as long as I did. However, I do think it should’ve wrapped up four volumes earlier. The final arc was just painful and ultimately killed off any affection I had left for the series.
series is finally over and the ending was fine i guess the storyline just got so convoluted over the books and while it still had enjoyable moments everything fell kinda flat like i didn’t really care about the little girl storyline at all
I-I fucking love it. I love it. I know it’s campy and silly and this last arc was definitely silly if it wasn’t gonna fully add to her harem but I still loved it so much. 10/10 can’t wait to see it animated
