Not My Finest Hour

One night can last a lifetime…

It was too good to be true.

On the night I decide to put myself out there again, I meet a sexy doctor who wants to take me back to his place. The connection! The sparks! We had it all.

I had to see him again. So imagine my surprise when I go in for a routine exam and the doc from last night steps in.

He says we can’t be together. He’d be risking everything. I say no problem. I’ll switch doctors.

We try to make it work. But his hectic schedule leads to a lot of canceled dates and hurt feelings.

It seems like the universe is telling us a relationship is a bad idea. But two pink lines on a pregnancy test might force our hand. If he can’t even find time for me, how are we going to make a baby work?

Lizzy Barlow loves writing books filled with sassy heroines and the guys they fall for. She considers herself not too shabby in the kitchen and wishes the rest of the house would clean itself. When she's not writing, you can usually find her outside trying to nurse the plants she swore she wouldn't kill (this time) back to life.

This is an entertaining one night, stand romance book that takes you on the journey of Justin and Dahlia’s love story. She has ups and downs in her relationship and we are brought along on a few of her dates that are entertaining. There are laugh out loud sections and also intriguing storylines. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Difficult Decisions . . .

Justin and Dahlia are attracted to each other and decide to enjoy a one-night-stand. But when she goes for a routine medical exam, the doctor turns out to be the guy she is still lusting over, her unforgettable one-night-stand! Because he would put his residency at risk, they realize they should not try to continue their relationship. But she decides to switch doctors so they can give it a try. Unfortunately, he has very little time left in the day for dating and ends up canceling dates quite often. And when she finds out she is pregnant, she needs to make some serious decisions. Will he be available to help raise his child? Or should she end things with him, especially when he doesn’t seem at all happy about the idea of parenthood? Regardless, she will do what she needs to do to have a healthy baby. And her support system of friends and family may make a huge difference in her journey to becoming a mother. But will the person she wants by her side to celebrate the new life they will be bringing into this world change his mind and be there for her?

Not My Finest Hour: An accidental Pregnancy Romantic Comedy by Lizzy Barlow was a rom-com with a bit of drama and heat. Pregnancy, even in the best of situations can be a daunting endeavor. When it is unplanned and resulting from a one-night-stand, things become a bit more complicated. Dahlia was faced with major life changes, causing her to take stock of her life. She had to make some tough decisions, but she handled it all without losing her mind, self-esteem, or humor.

Justin and Dahlia form a connection after their one night stand but he pushes her away when he realizes his residency is under her doctor. She tries to date his friend which starts out good but then leads to some wild moments where Justin ends up rescuing them both. There were some communication issues and they both act younger than their ages. But once they get it together especially after she discovers she’s pregnant it’s kind of sweet in this steamy romantic comedy.

Dahlia and Justin meet and share a hot one night stand before going their separate ways. To both their surprise, she goes to her OBGyn and he's the doctor she's seeing. As a patient, he knows they can't have anything but will they work out if she moves to another doctor? Will it work out dating a busy doctor? What about when the pregnancy test turns up positive?.

I felt like the book was scripted, the interactions felt so forced and weird. this book labeled as a comedy but I did not laugh, I cringed through the whole book. I didn't enjoy Dahlias huge hang up on money either, you can have tons in common and not come from the same background. that said I do think Wesley was a bit of a snob and she didn't need to waste time with him. I feel like the characters weren't very deep either, I could have used some more character building.

This is book 3 of Lovin in the PNW and a standalone story. It is a humorous tale of a one-night stand that is so much more. The characters were fun to read. What's a girl to do when her one-night stand is her new OBGYN?.

A sweet and humorous romantic comedy. I'm always a little more careful when choosing books with an accidental pregnancy trope, but I really liked this book and the story was written in a very interesting and entertaining way. I really liked the characters. Well written story with a great storyline.

This book definitely had me laughing multiple times. It is a very easy read with a happy ending. It is a great pallet cleanser after I read a lot of dark romance.

A great read. I had not read the other books in this series, but I don't think that mattered. I wanted everything to work out for them.
